AU where Javik gets to grow old together Jayce and Viktor are professors

Jayce is a stunning older man, his hair is dark as it always is, but he gets grey streaks in his beard. Viktor let's his hair grow out to hand around his shoulders, light brown and streaks of white. He grows his how short facial hair, keeping it trim and fashionable.

Everyone loves Professor J. Talis. He's handsome and kind, he explains everything with vigor that you can't draw your eyes away. He eats candy at his desk and smiles at the students. He teaches easier classes, the beginnings and core of mechanics and understanding of metal work.

Professor V. Talis is not everyone's favorite. However those who know him, who are passionate about the more complex and delicate intricate workings of machines, adore him. Viktor often makes more office hours so he can have one on one time with his students, which usually means everyone knows that the Talis's eat take out at night, and will get food for students too.

Jayce likes having private time with his husband, sitting in restaurants alone and getting to gush over him. Viktor is more than happy to have students, present or past, come up to him for a chat, to walk with them around the park talking.

Viktor calls Jayce a pumpkin, on account of him getting pouty and fussy when Viktor stays out at night working. Jayce calls Viktor lemon, because he's sweet, a little wrinkly, and sour.

When Jayce retires, Viktor keeps teaching for another decade. He just can't give up teaching until he's almost sixty and has to be in his wheelchair exclusively. Students from when they were first starting to teach come and thank them, invite them to award ceremonies.

In the end of the end, just like how everyone thought, Viktor and Jayce could never live without each other.
