i (think) i am Feli-form/feline therian and maybe candid (fox, Coyote, Vancouver sea wolf, Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever) and some mustilidae (pole cats, ferret, river otter) too

But it’s sometimes difficult for me to differentiate me just really liking the animal species and actually identify as it bc I typically like things I find relation and familiarity in

Apologies in advance for bad formatting I’m rather new to this

Okay let’s start with the obvious things

We know jinx gets hallucinations and is extremely paranoid, we see this very clearly

We also know she has severe trauma

Her trauma composes of

•generally unsafe setting, lots of aggression and fighting and stress 24/7 even if she was somewhat shielded by her parents and vander

•loss of both parental figures at I’d guess age 5 or something like that

•lack of true friends, outside of her sister and Ekko throughout childhood.

•persecution from law enforcement

•constantly surrounded by drunk and or high people

Now even some of this is enough to cause pretty severe c-ptsd and anxiety and would’ve been the first boulders on the pile to start the rockslide of traumagenic disorders she has but we know that’s not where it ends

•loss of second father figure after her first one died, at the (accidental) hands of her own actions

•accidentally kills the only other kids she knows outside of Ekko and vi at the same time that her second father figure dies, while trying to save the people she loves

•from her pov is hurt and abandoned by her only family left alive due to her own actions

This all happens up to at most age 12 but is likely emotionally and mentally stunted even back then

•only person shes left with is someone she knows isn’t a great person, and is left incredibly vulnerable to manipulation

•while cared for by her third father figure , the relationship is unhealthy and only furthers her issues, convincing her to separate herself from herself, (encouraging further dissociation) and having her do things like kill people, killing people is traumatic, but over time she basically became numb to it, and learned to “enjoy” it

Now that we’ve outlined her trauma

Let’s look at the requirements and symptoms of schizophrenia and DID

I’ll start with schizophrenia [while I do believe she is likely actually schizoaffective there is controversy over if that is truly a separate disorder or if it’s just a branch and there’s a lack of proper studies from what I read]

The main symptoms are:

1.Delusions.

2.Hallucinations.

3.Disorganized speech (e.g., frequent derailment or incoherence).

4. disorganized or catatonic behavior.

5.Negative symptoms (i.e., diminished emotional expression or avolition).

You need 2 or more of these to be diagnosed

We see quite a few of these in jinx

We see she has hallucinations, and will sometimes appear incoherent, not make sense to the people around her. she (or her hallucinations) have very paranoid thinking, believing people mean things they don’t for example, or quickly jumping to extreme conclusions.

Her behavior is often cyclical but unpredictable, quickly going from calm or emotional to cold and cruel, to joking and energized

She also has phases of lack of emotion , often when she’s shooting people, she “goes blank”

We also see these aren’t 24/7, her symptoms come in waves, and it seems she’s had them for years, they’re not sudden and not induced by substances they’re continuous episodes that can be random or triggered.

Now let’s look at DID

DID is a very complex disorder, and comes with a lot of variation as it is centered on personality but im going to try my best

DID is caused by repetitive trauma before the age of nine (because it must occur during the development of personality) , and the brain defending itself by dissociating from itself, causing “walls” to form within the self, the person will have had to dissociate enough for that dissociated state to start becoming essentially a secondary personality, this most often results in more than 2 states, which are triggered to “front” by different situations and emotions. Often this results in “trauma holders” which are the dissociative states that hold the worst memories, so the person can function without those memories and big emotions weighing on them

Brains with DID also often form a “protector” and “persecutor” states (alters) protectors have memories and instincts to do what they think will protect the individual from perceived threats, and persecutors often mimic the individual’s abuser.

That to say, I’m no expert and I don’t have DID (cough as far as I’m aware) but I have done reading on medical papers and have read people's individual experiences

Now I’m going to go over what symptoms I notice in jinx and categorize and name the (theoretical) alters I’ve noticed

She already flat out has a “alter ego self” jinx, is one of the many faces of powder, powder is her child self, the I actually think there’s two “powders” if we look at “powder” as a child alter

Powder

the little girl, scared and alone, she holds no clear memories but she is afraid and alone and desperately craves to be seen and held, this child like alter comes out

A: when jinx is with slico

B. At the end of some of jinx’s episodes

C. When Vi hugs her the first time after reuniting

Fragment powder

I think there is the powder that contains all the distorted blurry memories of trauma and the people she’s lost

(The trauma holder) memories flood in from this alter when jinx is reminded of her past (like when she sees the girl who looks like vi) this may be more of a fragment alter, mostly being made up of emotions and memories

Jinx fragment/shell

is the most empty version of jinx, shares protector role with milo/claggor

The one who “holds the gun” and shoots at people

The one who kills (or tries to) people she knows

We see this one several times

•comes out just a split second after the fragment powder is triggered in the airship

•comes out when the firelights attack her and vi and cait on the tower

•comes out when she shoots silco

And there’s of course

Jinx

Is basically everything else, somehow holds the most and least memories, likely has the most communication with each alter, is more reasonable than fragment jinx and fragment powder but is less emotional and more functional than powder.

She is likely the main caretaker and definitely fronts the most often.

Then we have the pursecuter/protectors

Milo and Claggor

I’m not sure if they’re the same alter or not

They’re based on memories, and emotions, they do occasionally serve purpose of protector , telling her to not trust people

But they’re also mean and aggressive sometimes, they’re most often seen as hallucinations, and don’t ever come to the front, but I do think they’re somewhere between alters and hallucinations and flash backs

I think it’s likely when we hear their voices and seem to be telling her that Vi is betraying her, that’s the actual alters, but when we see the visuals, most of those are hallucination flashbacks, memories from fragment powder that have been sort of manipulated by the milo/claggor alter (s) (you could just say it’s her brain doing it but that’s kinda one in the same)

Dead

This alter is the most separate and newest alter from the system, she’s the one jinx (the character as a whole not the alter) is when she’s with isha

This alter does not receive the hallucinations or memories from the powder fragment and does not hear from milo/claggor

This alter is passively suicidal

The schizoaffective symptoms definitely impact the presentation of jinx’s DID as it causes a lot of overlap between alters but severe amnesia and complete separation is not a requirement

I think jinx Co-fronts a lot (meaning two alters are present at once)

Especially when she’s actively suicidal

That or she has another alter that is just suicidal and depressed

That would be the one we see

•on the bridge with Ekko

•in the jail cell

•on the tower trying to blow herself up next to Ekko

Now others have theorized she might have BPD but it’s entirely possible and even likely that both are true, BPD is characterised by inconsistency in relationships, quickly changing opinions of people around you, black and white thinking, codependency, low self worth, inconsistent self image, feelings of emptiness, and attachment issues

It’s theorized BPD is caused by parental trauma and children who are adopted are often more likely to have personality disorders

It’s entirely possible jinx got BPD from her original parental loss

I also think it’s possible she is autistic but with everything else it’s difficult for me to pinpoint what’s what, but again, it’s comorbid, many people who end up with DID and/or BPD are also diagnosed with things like ADHD and ASD

I’m contemplating making a video about this but I don’t have the ability to at the moment but I might in the future idk , but if I do I would definitely include more examples and clips n stuff

I love this lol,

I have a spin-y fidget that looks like a Thor hammer (Mulneir or whatever) and I feel like jayce would be one like that but it looks like an actual hammer/mallet instead of a Thor hammer

And maybe cait would be like one of those fidget necklaces that are still made of metal but they spin or something like that (like, she’s not delicate but she looks delicate)

Watching Carmen sandiego right now and I totally see the saira audhd, I actually found this post trying to see if anyone else said anything lol

She only really works for vile for self interest (low empathy)

She gets hyperfocused

Special interest; lab science +tech

And she has mentioned her lack of understanding for metaphorical phrases

I also see the player thing, he’s made the “white hat” concept his whole personality, he seems not to do anything social outside of his interactions over call with Carmen, his special interest is clearly hacking and coding.

Carmen I’m not sure but I definitely relate to her …for some reason I can’t exactly decipher, (as an autistic person) but maybe it’s more cptsd?

I can definitely see Julia in her hyper awareness and attention to seemingly “unimportant” details

A number of characters from the new Carmen San Diego Netflix series are on the spectrum. The obvious one being Dr. Saira Bellum, and her lack of attention (ADHD). I suspect Carmen herself is also on the spectrum as well as player. Countess Cleo seems (from what we’ve seen) as having a special interest in artifacts, culture, and art in her “gotta cach'em all” attitude towards it. Detective Chase Devineaux is obsessed with tracking down Carmen to the detriment of his own career, while his partner’s attention to detail borders on clairvoyance.
