random Smasher headcanons

figured I oughta get these outta my head and written down somewhere, put them under a readmore to spare the tags my rambling disclaimer; I don’t own any of the sourcebooks to cross-check dates or what’s been confirmed for him but also I cherry-pick from the canon for fun anyways so eh

He was born sometime in the mid to late ‘80s, before the nuclear device was detonated in New York in ’93 but young enough that he doesn’t really remember life before it became a combat-zone. Not to say that life before the attack was easy; his mother was in a gang and he never knew anything about his father other than that he "died squealing like a pig."

His mother washed her hands of him before he was 10, leaving him to run rampant in the streets. There were a handful of other children in similar boats, they banded together to have a fighting chance. Quite a few of them died young, others died stupid. Of his lot, Adam is the last survivor.

His ‘meat is weak’ mantra took root when he was younger – he watched those who were in the imminent zones around the nuclear attack fall sick. An extreme case stuck with him; a man who terrified the young Adam ventured into ground zero of the attack for loot, when he returned his health quickly deteriorated from a towering tank of a man to little more than skin and bone. And then less, as his skin began to peel away. The last time Adam saw his remains they were being gnawed on by mangy dogs in an alley.

He killed before he could spell his name. Hell, it took him getting a literacy chip when he was signing up for the army to learn that.

His surname isn’t Smasher, like Blackhand and Silverhand that’s for show, for reputation. His actual surname has been lost to everyone but him and the old NUSA Army official documents – it exists still on his old dog tags. He buried them in his old stomping grounds in New York.  

His cooling system is a combination of both liquid and fans. The liquid cooling does most of the heavy lifting, with his fans hardly audible. He can manually up their RPM if he wants them heard, for whatever reason.

His torso is warm, not scalding to the touch but enough that he can stifle the air in a smaller room if he’s in there for a time. Think of it like running a server in a room with no air flow.

Due to his brain still being organic, he does actually need sleep just not as frequently as a normal person. He can go push into a month or so without it impacting his performance or mood, but he does push himself past that milestone often enough. He gets notably more murderous the longer he goes. It affects his performance too. Yorinobu knows this, and kept Smasher busy enough that he couldn’t get a full allotted rest even if he wanted to. And yes, this is me trying to reason away why he’s such a chump in his boss fight.

The Vampire Aesthetic

Ok so Danny knows two billionaires personally and they really couldn’t be more different. Yet they had one thing in common. A vampire aesthetic. Sam is fully into goth. Spiderwebs, bats, the color black. She enjoys fangs and fake blood and the darkness of her soul. Meanwhile, Vlad is Vlad. If his name wasn’t enough, the dark clothing, pale skin, and flying around with a cape and fangs with coffins in his mansion really sells it.

Danny doesn’t know many rich people so he thinks this might be some kind of trend. (If Paulina is rich, her family likes the chupacabra) So he just thinks that all rich people have some kind of vampire thing going on.

Cue Danny somehow ending in the Wayne household. Maybe he was brought over as a friend of one of the bats, maybe rescued from a field trip/vacation gone wrong, maybe some other situation. But he is there in civilian form with civilian Waynes and Danny just takes a good long look around the inside of the mansion.

“So where’s the vampire aesthetic?

Everyone freezes.

Danny just starts looking around, checking behind paintings and feeling the walls for secret levers. Used to secret passages with Vlad and possibly Sam. The Fentons definitely had them when they were temporarily rich.

“Come on, I know you guys are hiding it.”

Cue the entire batfamily thinking that this is another Tim and that he is fully aware that these people are the batfamily. Danny hangs around the mansion more and the bats just start dropping their disguises and not even bothering to hide stuff around Danny because they assume he already knows. (Possibly even trying to recruit him to be a new bat) Meanwhile, Danny, who does not know these people are batman and his birds, just does not pick up on any of it.

He grew up in a health violation with a giant ballon observatory lab above his head and a portal to the afterlife in his basement. He is a half dead teenager who has tea with the god of time and his godfather is the other parent to his clone child. He’s used to death lazers being scattered across his home and mysterious stains on clothing.

People are weird! He doesn’t judge!

Danny Fenton, aka Phantom, has been given a new task!

In short, literally no one in the Ghost Zone/Infinite Realms wants their mostly peaceful afterlife to be rocked by a certain Gotham rogue named Joker. Which, when he dies, is almost sure to happen because of whatever the hell was in that vat he dropped in included ectoplasm. So, yay, he’s also a little ghostly too, meaning he *is* pretty hard to kill. Unfortunately, there’s also a certain vigilante that is quite keen to murder him in recent years.

So now Danny has to keep the mass murderer trauma clown alive for as long as he possibly can while attempting to keep the Joker from. Well. Being the Joker.

Oh, and naturally, Danny got this assignment AFTER Joker got out of Arkham. Again. And entirely blew up the asylum. Time to join the Goonion, he is NOT doing this without getting PAID, thank you.

tfone au where OP is created as the last of the primes but way after them, a sparkling born at what were thought to be the last days of the war against the quintessons, the beginning of a new generation of peace after eons of war. a child meant to be loved and raised knowing nothing of war nor sacrifice.

he's kept mostly out of the spotlight by his siblings, who don't wish to expose him to everyone's optics so young, and want to wait until the war is done and over to properly introduce him to their people.

except of course the primes are betrayed and murdered by sentinel, the war is lost and everyone who knows and cared for the truth is either banished or outright killed in order to suppress it.

and the high guard, the ones the primes trusted the most, the ones that were supposed to protect them, the ones who failed in their most important duty, have to make a choice. to take the last prime, their last hope, with them to the surface, a hostile environment where there's little to no supplies and where they'll be hunted down by both sentinel and the quintessons as the biggest threat to their regimen.

or hide him in plain sight. place him where sentinel won't think to look for him. one more sparkling among many. and hope it will be enough to keep him alive. pray to primus that he'll protect his last child long enough for them to come back for him when it's safer (even if most of them have already lost their faith on him when he allowed the rest of his children to be massacred like that)

they almost lose their resolve when they realize they will have to take the little one's cog away in order to make him blend in with the rest of the newborns (and oh do they burn with murderous intent when they see what sentinel has done to their people but it's not the time yet-) but in the end they decide an impaired little prime is better than a dead one.

and so in the chaos of thirteen dead primes and a sudden energon crisis, a little sparkling who very few mechs really knew about and even fewer had seen completely vanishes. and in the depths of iacon a mech in charge of a new batch of newborns scratches their helm in confusion as they realize they must have miscounted the first time.

optimus prime is quietly erased from any official records by sentinel, written off as dead when they find a sparkling's frame mangled beyond recognition after an attack on the base of those rebels that insist on being a thorn on his side. killing the sparkling hadn't been precisely in his plans, he probably could've found some use for it after all, but he's not particularly upset about it either.

and orion pax grows up with an ache on his spark that tells him he's missing something far more important than a t-cog and dreams of gentle and loving hands, cradling him against the frames of mechs he cannot recall the faces of.

Hello all. Sorry for the lack of posting this week.

The power is still out for my entire neighborhood, and roads are in the process of being cleared after the bomb cyclone that hit us.

It's so sad to see so many old trees gone. The skyline here will never be the same.

I'm thankful, though, that it wasn't worse.

hot take: Gale would be a good partner just not to KATNISS. they were way too similar and wouldn't be able to work out their trauma together. He needed someone like Peeta to compliment his personality, not a similar version of himself. Katniss wouldn't be a good partner to Gale either because at the end of the day, her heart lies with Peeta. (Also,don't forget that the movies lowkey butchered Gale. Book!gale was sympathetic towards Peeta.)

HEAR ME OUT smilk's new beast raid boss is a goat looking thing BECAUSE

PV probably takes some sort of inspiration from prophets in abrahamic religions more notably jesus than anything else or atleast imo and like you see him with sheep and stuff like in 1 of his overworld animations where he's with a cotton candy sheep like he may have been a shepard before his pilgrimage and stuff and what are sheep known for other than being cuddly and cute and tasty? LOYALTY!!!! And there's like a buncha thing abt sheep in some religions too like in the bible sheep are brought up a lot and are of high value I think not 200% sure like sacrificing sheep or using them as metaphors for things like followers following a religion or prophet with loyalty. Smilk is essentially like legit the polar opposite of pv, deceitful, opposing colour palette, completely different personality, yk and what Is his beast raid boss? A GOAT THING!!! What are goat known for other than being also tasty? Being more disobedient and violent and stubborn compared to sheep who are easier to control and stuff so a goat is basically the antithesis of a sheep [especially in the bible there are metaphors and stuff used for like people eho are sinful i think again not 100% sure....] THEREFORE HIS BEAST RAID BOSS HIS A GOAT TO OPPOSE PV IN EVERYWAY EVEN FURTHER!!!!!!
