I know it's just because he wasn't written to be a consistent character but it's hilarious to me how absent M'Benga is during episodes where Spock's hurt and Mccoy & Chapel are like "Is he going to be alright Doctor? / There's no way to tell with his crazy mixed up Vulcan internal organs..." like Hey. And do you think the tri-ox compound can be used daily? Or do you think maybe Humans like Amanda who live on Vulcan had to have days where they hang out in like. an artificial biome that has the same oxygen levels as on earth?

his name is So'Yun, he's from a collection of small islands in one of the tiny ass vulcan oceans! most of my vulcan ocs play around with the idea of alternate vulcan cultures because its always mildly frustrated me that p much every alien culture in star trek is just like. the one. culture. its a whole planet, theres bound to be some variation right. anyways- mostly I just made him for the split-colour look because he's based off of cats with chimerism! more specifically this little darling

so thats funnnnnn, is it realistic? no, no it is not, but like. its fun. so.

this one also features my other vulcan oc but he's pretty heavily underdeveloped, I just think he's funky

Still thinking about Tuvok and Vorik.

Like, I now really wish that the series had an episode where Tuvok seeks him out and tries to give him tips for how to keep your vulcan logic and emotional control in tact while being on a mostly human ship. And Vorik follows them to a T...only to completely mess up.

Like he just instantly gets into a fight with Belaana, accidentally insults Tom Paris, etc.

Eventually he concludes that nope, this is not helping, and he starts acting more himself again. (I headcanon that he's from a less traditional vulcan family and that's why both him and Taurik joined starfleet)

And he realizes how the humans actually respond better to him if he lets his emotional shields down. Which I can imagine might be exciting for younger vulcans who maybe don't really understand the importance of them yet? (Like how we see with child Tuvok in one episode, even though yk...vorik's clearly older than that.)

So throughout the series we get to watch Vorik slowly turn from your average cold vulcan into someone who's almost openly showing his feelings (as much as he's able to anyways)

I can imagine this would make things between Tuvok and him a lot more akward too since I believe Vorik would subconsciously still look up to him in a way, even if he doesn't feel the need to practice emotional suppression as much anymore.

So it'd probably come to scenes where Vorik's just chatting with a crew member and having a very slight smile on his face, only to turn �� again once he spots Tuvok walking past them.

Trip asking T'Pol how she knows a child is theirs despite having never been pregnant and being unable to explain how it happened and her response being "I'm Vulcan." Tuvok saying his 'love' for his own children cannot be characterized as an emotion and explaining (presumably simplified for alien children to understand) "My children are a part of me, and I am incomplete without them." Rotating it all in my head.

“Bullshit!” is a game where at first the Vulcans don’t care for it since it’s just a card game where you keep a straight face and lie, but all it takes is for one Human to correctly call one out on lying and reveal that they know it’s a lie because they’d been keeping track of who’s been putting down which cards and who’s been called out for lying about it (because no one can resist pointing out who’s been lying once they pick up the middle deck) to know there’s no possible way for that Vulcan to have a 3!

And then suddenly there’s a shift in all the Vulcans’ brains as they realize the game also has strategy and card counting and the game becomes a new favorite in the rec room
