Thinkin about that clip made me wanna make my own interpretation of Pike and Spock’s relationship. Again, have only watched TOS, so this is just me havin fun here lol
#my art#described#star trek: tos#spock#chris pike#need 2 do an actual face study of the dude…what’s he look like#my thought is that pike’s like a pseudo father figure towards Spock. he parallels sarek - while sarek encourages Spock to be more Vulcan-#-Pike encourages Spock to be more human. he tries to do this through pointing out when Spock experiences emotion and feeling but it just-#-kinda frustrates Spock to no end. which frustrates him more cus he shouldn’t BE frustrated in the first place. constant cycle.#pike essentially just sees a young man with massive daddy issues and goes ‘hm how can I help this.’ and then makes it worse. daddy issues 2!#BUT much like his own father Spock’s feelings towards Pike were complicated but still loving. this was a man who cared for him in the only-#-way he knew how - again much like his own father. so he can’t help but love him. even if that love is complicated.#anyway now I need to draw Spock accidentally calling Pike father and Pike just. ‘huh ?’#Spock goes and tries to die in a ditch somewhere afterwards. doesn’t even let it sit he leaves IMMEDIATELY LMAO
