The way Till looked genuinely pissed off because of Ivan but he’s not mean about it. Just thinking. The fact that he didn’t just say fuck off right then and there when Ivan asked him for a kiss, but he instead worked around it, as if after realizing Ivan was actually serious he said this as an attempt to pacify Ivan. because even though we get the irony here, it does look like Till trying to ‘let him down easy.’
Even his internal dialogue is harsh, but he doesn’t voice it.
And when Ivan starts whining and getting in his space again, Till doesn’t bother pressing it and just lets Ivan sulk, as if he’s simply handling a pouty child. Like he’s used to it and just letting it be, it doesn’t mean he liked it but Till really wasn’t trying to hurt Ivan.
(even more unsurprising how no punches were thrown, again. Till can only be provoked into acting that way, had this been Ivan’s perspective I’m sure this situation would have looked a lot more narrow-minded)

It's past 11 on a school night and I'm fucking crying over robot sentience.
I could never understand what it would feel like to be created with the intent to kill and maim. Maybe, the intent to work and be worked, but not kill and maim.
I will never understand what it's like to be created with the intention of being a product for the masses, either. I think, I hope, I beg, no one does.
I will never ever be able to fully comprehend why hours of people's work, time, and money would be put into formulating my sentience only for me to be seen as disposable. Even if I could be improved, even if I were "defective", there is no reasonable justification for giving me emotions only to dismiss them by pushing me as a product for a year before starting anew.
It's... It's cruel, to the machines. Sentient or not, it's cruel. Though, I guess we are cruel.

I know several people who like LOVE seasons 5-7 (11th doctors run) and think the storylines and moffats writing are brilliant and I don't get it!!! what am I missing??? why does literally every single episode have the exact same stakes: Rory/Amy/the doctor is dead. forever. so dead. but wait!!! what if they aren't!!! why do so many of the explanations for why they're not actually dead feel so rushed like they were added at the last minute!! why does every single queer character act kind of weird and awkward about being queer!! why does the doctor casually say that women are inferior when no one's around!!! what the fuck!! hello!!!

Of course they r different genres of story centered around very different characters and relationships and situations etc but i think also that just makes it funnier
#also i think what makes tws more effective (aside from there just being like. more intentional effort put into setting it up. like from#the first issue of cap vol. 5 its very clear that the point of it is to build up the circumstances necessary to reintroduce this character#into the narrative and then eventually push him center stage.)#is that its wayyyyyyyy less of a leap in logic for Bucky's character than it was for Jason. bc i mean. ofc there was the propaganda after#the fact trying to retcon jason into the angry and reckless robin. but even taking that into account#almost everything abt the red hood is an inversion of what jason was. and that is intentional and part of the drama of the story. but it#also takesmore effort to reconcile which is why we still have to make 3000000 posts analyzing and theorizing his character#Meanwhile for Bucky its like#he wasdoing winter soldier shit as a teenager during the war#died#continued obviously doing winter soldier shit as the winter soldier#got his memories back + shit#and then ran off to continue doingwinter soldier shit of his own volition against the appropriate targets#Like the conflict comes from thefact that he had no free will and thus was forced to kill indiscriminately according to his mission.#he doesnt seem to actually have much of a problem with anything he was made to do in a vacuum. which is why he keeps doing it#(im sure there was some uniquely vile shit at some pt i just havent read anything where he talks abt it yet LMAO)#and then he becomes captain america with a gun#and now as far as im aware. continues to be winter soldier. hes been doing this shit since hewas like 16 like 90 fucking years ago what els#is he supposed to do. #☢️.txt#yknow how ppl say that being upset at your mistreatment is a form of self love? i think loki can be that.#tbqh i tend to fall into the featherman seeker theory but like. i dont think wakaba implanted anything or even intended a 2nd awakening?#in my head wakaba is kinda akechi's maruki. she was Definitely using this kid as a human experiment and very fucked up shit was happening#but she /did/ care about him and told herself that it would all be okay in the end. right up until she realize oh right shido is horrible#anyways. i think that at some point during the experiments he did have a moment of actual anger that caused loki's awakening#generally im on the 'wakaba's death is one of his few regrets'#and i think his feelings on her are extremely complicated. she was an adult who was actually nice to him and expressed concern about him#unfortunately she was also using him as a lab rat and never tried to actually get him out#god. that theory drives me insane. what WAS wakaba doing. why do akechi and futaba have the same rare blood type#also do you ever think about how while loki is a trickster + god of chaos#he's trapped and prevented from interfering until ragnarok?#and akechi is a wildcard unable to truly use his power + seems to be a bit of a control freak#despite his main power being to make people lose all control?? and how if he does manage to unchain himself it'll mean the end of the world?

i guess my question is why DOES nuance immediately become looked down upon when it comes to that one webcomic
#he is typing#i mean i do have an idea. i think it's for a lot of reasons actually. but i think the knee jerk 'no it's COMPLETELY BAD EVERYTHING ABOUT-#-IT IS SHIT IT HAS NO REDEEMING QUALITIES LOLLOOK AT THESE WEIRDOS WHO WANT TO TALK ABOUT THEIR TERRIBLE TRASH COMIC'#is kind of... how do i put this.#not to say that i think it's 'actually good' and all criticism is unjustified or anything like that !!!!!! duh!!!!!! quite the contrary#i think that kind of reaction is definitely in part because a lot of the times when people DO claim to want nuanced conversations about it#they do in fact just circle back to idolizing it and writing off all criticisms as unjustified#so it's easier to just see someone talking about it and go 'shut the fuck up cringelord'#i think in a lot of ways the actual content of the story is viewed as inextricable from the horrid fanbase#and tbh i think the knee jerk reaction to completely write off any discussion about it is really more a defense mechanism against the-#-'fandom' than against the work itself. altho people do have issues with the work. i think a lot of the people who have that reaction eithe#ok not to be that guy but i think a lot of the people who have that reaction are people who have either never read the comic or read it-#-so long ago that they barely remember any of the actual content and can only remember it thru the insane fandomized lens#even tho the actual content might not be like that at all. i do think many (NOT ALL) of the satirical aspects of it are misconstrued#but nobody wants to have any actual conversations about it because nobody can be normal. so then when you do have an actual conversation-#-about it everyone assumes youre the same as the people who genuinely see no issues because theyre the loudest.#but like. idk like. fondness for a SATIRICAL COMIC where it is often COMMENTARY ON 2010S INTERNET CULTURE. is often like#immediately seen as endorsement of all of its flaws#moreso than it is for other things.#like someone reblogging tododeku probably does not endorse the repeated sexualization of teenage girls#but then someone reblogging karkat or whatever suddenly endorses like every time he said the r word#i do think this bias is reflective of the fact that a lot of fans ARE known for looking past or endorsing all of hussies actions as a write#but man. this is really the website where you have to put 'i think critically about the things i watch' in your carrd huh

this book is um. not very well written. i hope marcus livius drusus has a narratively satisfying character arc and then dies
#sulla and silo#mr athano you have to characterise your characters you can’t just assume the reader has read masters of rome#like ok. i have read it. but hhtghhhhhhjhvvv#imo one of the best things colleen does in masters of rome is just. fully committing to it being insanely long and detailed and covering a#period of like 100 years#because it means you do get a sense of what the ‘normal’ (as normal as it gets) political functioning of rome is like Before it all goes to#shit#throwing a reader into the events of drusus’ tribunate with no context about drusus’ character#and even. only mentioning that he’s caepio’s brother in law After he has barely reacted to caepio trying to have him assassinated is like#??????#on the other hand this book is so niche that maybe he Can rely on his audience to have read masters of rome#ALSO im still right at the start of the book so maybe it does improve#also also drusus is probably not a main character. unlike sulla who Is getting more distinct characterisation#maybe there’s still time for drusus to be sacrificed to the cause of italian citizenship…………#beeps
