The way Till looked genuinely pissed off because of Ivan but he’s not mean about it. Just thinking. The fact that he didn’t just say fuck off right then and there when Ivan asked him for a kiss, but he instead worked around it, as if after realizing Ivan was actually serious he said this as an attempt to pacify Ivan. because even though we get the irony here, it does look like Till trying to ‘let him down easy.’

Even his internal dialogue is harsh, but he doesn’t voice it.

And when Ivan starts whining and getting in his space again, Till doesn’t bother pressing it and just lets Ivan sulk, as if he’s simply handling a pouty child. Like he’s used to it and just letting it be, it doesn’t mean he liked it but Till really wasn’t trying to hurt Ivan.

(even more unsurprising how no punches were thrown, again. Till can only be provoked into acting that way, had this been Ivan’s perspective I’m sure this situation would have looked a lot more narrow-minded)

Celeste Sallow: OK THIS IS THE NAME IM SUPER PROUD OF BAHAHA because not only does the name celeste relate to the stars (in typical ravenclaw fashion...clora picked the name) but celeste sallow is also an alliteration. BUT, its an alliteration that begins with a C, which means clora gets to match with celeste in the form of both of their names starting with a C, whereas sebastian gets to match with celeste because both of their names are an alliteration/they're alliteration allies🥹ITS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!🥳

Lewis Sallow: as for lewis, if you've read my fic then you know that seb has a vendetta against names that start with an L bahaha, but 'lewis' was actually HIS idea. when celeste was born, seb wanted to find a muggle story to read to her, since clora's favourite story is ALSO a muggle one (sherlock), and he wanted to stick with tradition. so he ended up finding alice in wonderland, which he loved because of how adventurous and clever alice was and of how much she reminded him of clora and celeste (both personality and looks wise). it became his favourite for those reasons, to the point that when they had lewis, sebastian overcame his L-name hatred by naming their son after lewis carroll.

Houses: celeste could have been sorted into either gryffindor or slytherin, but ultimately ends up in slytherin because she wants to be like seb. kinda like how clora also probably could have been in gryffindor, tbh. as for lewis.....him being 10000% in ravenclaw doesnt need any explanation BAHA, just look at him.

Appearance: since clora has a tiny bit of veela blood in her, thats obvs passed down to their kids, too, and so they mostly take after her as a result of it. but there's still little bits of seb that shine through in each of the kids: for lewis its his brown curly hair, and for celeste its her complexion/freckles. and the fact that celeste looks so similar to clora only doubles up sebastian's stress/protective instincts when he watches her BAHAH. he's ofc still proud that she takes after him so closely, but seb also cant deny that he wishes it had been their SON that had taken after him instead, to keep her out of danger.

Celeste & Lewis: for celeste and lewis’ relationship, celeste is a super proud big sister, and treats lewis kinda like how seb treats clora. if there's anything that needs to be done, she offers to do it for him. and although she doesn’t have the patience to read stories herself, she loves playing outside and having lewis read to her in the background, and loves to act out/use his stories to fuel her imagination. and lewis makes sure to pick stories that he KNOWS she’ll like (which mostly involve heroic and daring feats of adventurers or pirates. he's tried to read more classic fairytales and romances to her a few times, but celeste always gets bored). she loves to draw though, so sometimes when lewis reads books that have no pictures, she'll draw them herself.

Celeste & Seb/Clora: celeste is a daddy's girl LOL and always tries to impress seb with the stuff she does, especially after hearing how HE was at her age, and so its half to impress and half because shes competitive that she wants to do the same/be just as good. and seb always gets a kick out of hearing her feats in the crossed wands club, or in defense against the dark arts class, and he also goads her on, telling her she'll have to do better than that if she wants to be as good as HE was. and whenever celeste gets detention, clora always stresses and asks why, whereas seb just tries to keep the smirk off his face. as for celeste and clora, clora also reads to celeste, and bakes and cooks with her, which is something celeste actually likes doing. not only because it keeps her busy and she likes to help and get messy in general, but also because she likes the fact that it results in good food afterwards LOL, and constantly asks when things can be taken out of the oven. also, for as tomboy-y as celeste is, she honestly doesn't mind/likes the clothing that clora puts her in and likes when clora dresses her up, bc it makes her look like one of the princesses from the storybooks, and it just amuses her more than anything else. once she enters hogwarts, though, its mostly trousers. but she still DOES like the occasional girly clothing.

Lewis & Seb/Clora: lewis is a momma's boy LOL and unlike celeste, doesnt care about duelling or of proving himself or anything like that, and is only concerned with stories and his future studies. so ofc clora had to show him sherlock, which he naturally loved. it even inspired lewis to want to write his own stories, so that he could challenge his own skill and see if he could, but also because he wants his mom to read them, and likes the idea of writing his own sherlock-esque story with equations and mysteries to be solved that he can offer her. lewis also wants to write a book for celeste as well, bc although he wont admit it, he basically wants to write a story tailor-made for her and her interests. one that he thinks will have everything she’d love in it. and part of it is genuinely because he WANTS to do it for her, but the other part of it is also for his ego, and to see if he CAN write a compelling story, and write something that would actually get THE hyperactive celeste to sit down and read it in its entirety (not to mention of her own volition). as for with seb, lewis looks up to him more than anyone else, due to how well-rounded he is and how hes so good at practical stuff AND studying, and he kinda sees seb as a main character/protagonist from one of his books, and uses sebastian as inspiration for his own stories. if hes stuck on what he thinks the dashing main character should do next, he'll ask his dad what HE would do, which results in seb getting very weird questions that he nonetheless is always happy to answer. also, when lewis is older and finally learns the full story of what happened with clora and seb and ranrok and rookwood, he writes their story in novel form, except he just changes their names/some of the details, and it becomes a best seller LOL. and i didnt know where to put this, but the four of them all read a story before bed every night, with lewis in the middle and seb and clora on either side of him. though celeste stands at the foot of the bed, basically doing a charade/mime show of what theyre reading, and putting on a little play to go along with it BAHHA.

How the fuck have we reached a point where Till is the most normal character is Alien Stage?

This is a boy who literally smashed his alien guitar on stage. A canonical music genius. A boy who was put through hell.

And he is somehow the most normal person in the cast.

[ content warning: discussion of in-canon sexual abuse ] Maybe it’s just because I’m not too active in the ALNST fandom and mostly observe from afar, but I think this fandom brushed aside way too quickly the fact that Till was sexually assaulted. I have never seen anyone talk in depth about like, what that actually means in terms of his arc and the storytelling of his character. Which I find deeply, deeply upsetting because holy fucking shit.

This man right here has been told, basically his entire life, that not only is he himself not worthy of being treated as a human, but that his body is not his body, but a piece of property that can be owned. And whoever owns his property can use it for whatever, and however they wish. Now, dehumanization is nothing new or unique in this world, obviously. The very concept of Pet Humans is dehumanizing by nature, leaving all six of our main characters as victims to it, even those who are more well-off like Mizi. But Till is a specially fucked up case almost distinctly unlike the rest, because he is actually treated like a fucking dog.

An unruly animal who needs to be leashed up and put in it’s place. Animals, as is common knowledge, are not on the same level as a human being. But they are ordained to follow the commands of those above them. And if someone (thing) isn’t doing as it is told…

It deserves to be taught better. But I’m getting ahead of myself. This is the mindset that has followed Till his entire life by the ones who were supposed to take care of him. He is not human, even less human than the existing inhuman. He is a pet, even more so than the other pets, an animal. A thing. Property. Something to own. And the best thing about owning something?

You gain the ability to do whatever you want to it. Till’s body was not his from the start. It was used as something to toy around with, experiment with, to train and train and train, presumably for his whole life. His body, his skin, his flesh and bone and blood, it was all nothing more than a plaything. So what if he screams? Just ignore it. Or don’t. If this competition has taught us anything, voices have the most value of all. On top of it being reinforced that Till is not deserving of humanity, he is also not deserving of his bodily autonomy. People are free to do whatever they want with his body because it’s not his body, it’s theirs. And that brings us, finally, to the scene itself

He can’t sing her song, he refuses to. This isn’t the first time he’s refused to do something, far from it actually. What was once an innocent puppy with dilated hope in his eyes has grown into an angry, disobedient mutt. And we know what happens to an animal that refuses to do what they’re told. But there’s something interesting about dogs, or rather about the ones they descended from, the wolf: When the circumstances call for it, they will bite the hand that’s supposed to feed them.

And here is where I intrude to remind you that this is the only time we see anyone physically fighting back against the aliens in the confines of Alien Stage. We see Hyuna and Mizi fucking up aliens in All In, but that was after they had escaped from the cage. And you could make a case for Mizi trying to escape the grasp of the guards that grabbed her in Ruler of My Heart, but from what we saw she didn’t actually lay a hand on them and more so just tried to force herself out of their grasp. though if you disagree with me on that that's fine Here though? Till has this bitch’s face grabbed into his palm with a bottle in hand ready to smash it directly in between it’s eyes. I consider this to be the first act of physical violence shown against the aliens within the uncomfortably tight enclosure. And it’s triggered not because of anything personally done to Till, which on its own could probably fill a list that reaches the ground. But because of the prospect of Mizi being dead. Till knows that this place is shit, that his life is shit. Said so directly on his profile.

And that is really what the sexual assault of Till represents to me. It is a cruel reminder to Till that fighting back is impossible, having hope, being free, it might as well be a fool's fantasy. He will always be less-than-human, less than anything. His body will always be the property of the ones that were supposed to protect him, claimed, and then used used used until it’s worn out and dead.

And the aliens chose to exemplify that fact in the most direct way they possibly could.

I am 5 seconds from writing an essay on why till was never actually in love with mizi and he in fact just idolizes her but wasn't able to really tell the difference between those things because every show of love he grew up seeing (mizi and sua, and how ivan acted towards till) was somewhere between romantic feelings and worship so obviously he'd take one look at his own feelings of "I like mizi for all these reasons and think she's great and I want to be near her" and think yes this is romantic attraction. of course. naturally

yeah this is me projecting onto till but also it makes SENSE. like this fucker grew up around mizi literally calling sua her god. why do we think he's going to understand the difference between idolization and worship and actually being in love with someone. he grew up with ivan chasing him and only having eyes for him. why do we think he's going to understand the difference between wanting to be noticed and actually being in love with someone. mizi experiences her love for sua as sua being her god, the center of her life, absolutely everything, someone who owns her heart and is her whole world. and till probably hears her say this. and he decides that because his life centers on mizi (and wanting validation from her), he must be in love too

the way he is about mizi reminds me soooo much of myself when i was younger. I'd pick a person to latch onto and ignore everyone else and want them to look at me and talk to me and treat them saying my name as the best moment of my life and think that was love (it was actually hyperfixating on people and also I don't have romantic attraction)

Ok, please correct me if I’m wrong, but me and other people have talked about how Ivan antagonizes others (Till and Sua) to gain any attention he can from them since he wants to form a deeper bond with them but doesn’t know how, and how he knows it hurts them and that it’s selfish, but focusing on Ivti here, besides from the meteor shower escape scene, I don’t remember a moment in canon where Till is particularly aware he’s hurting Ivan? 

This isn’t me pointing fingers at Till, of course; it’s just that we always seem to see Ivan provoking first (usually intentionally, sometimes not, like with the Cheer Up comic), so on Till’s side it’s not so much as him hurting Ivan but just retaliating against him? Defending himself.

I have not worded this post great at all, but what I’m trying to get across is that the hurt and then comfort dynamic seems to be more one-sided instead of mutual, like I’ve seen it said before? Like Ivan’s the one mostly doing the pushing and pulling while Till’s just reacting or not reacting.

Which canon character does Foxy not respect at all? And why?

Oooo, a few come to mind in terms of her not respecting or just downright despises throughout the story.

A mutual disrespect: Penguin and Black Mask, due to them being notorious violent gangsters that have no respect for anyone but themselves. Ozzie, naturally wants her sliced and diced and feed to his shark. Roman, does have a vague attraction to her after she saved his ass from Grid, but when she was not dealing with his bullshit- it was straight back to business and put her back on the hitlist immediately.

No respect/ very uncomfortable: Mad Hatter is a special case. Very, very warped with reality due to his schizophrenia, he genuinely believes that Foxy is his one true Alice. He tried mind controlling her so he could keep her to himself, but that only royally pissed Foxy off once she broke free. Foxy doesn't like being around him too long due to how uncomfortable she makes him. The only thing she wishes for that man is that he doesn't test her patience again (or there will be consequences- fuck around and find out, literally) and that he gets the actual treatment he needs.

Absolutely fucking despises with a passion: Professor Pyg, Zsasz and Blackfire. Pyg and Zsasz are cut from the same cloth since they are unstable psychopaths with the lust to kill, maim, and disfigure for their own sick pleasure. Decon Blackfire, on the other hand, is an unstable cult leader who converts either dangerous goons or some desperate homeless people to do his bidding and sacrifices innocence in the name of "The Lord". With Foxy having experiences being homeless in the past herself- hates the very idea of him exploiting the homeless for his gain and casing harm to others. That will be a future chapter that i will go into for another day ;3c

Those are the ones i could think up from the top of my head from what i remember, other than that, I think that's most if not all of them, I'll probably add more to that list later lol

in the ivantill version, you can hear till singing alone at first, but then ivan comes into harmonize with him after the first two lines (italicized) it feels like... ivan's shown up just to catch till as he falters, almost?

but in the mizisua version, mizi sings this entire verse alone* it's only in the last and final verse where they harmonize ...and even there

ivan only sings the very last Yes, me, oh oh alone but sua drops off even earlier than till does there, so mizi has to sing the Consume me alone too...

what does all this mean... uhhh let me get back to you when my brain is working again but one thing I'm reminded of is: my clematis there, mizi has to sing the final verse alone since sua left her, but ivan and till trade lines presumably as the song was meant to be sung

no matter the nature of their dynamic, I suppose ivan and till did have a bit more time together here than mizi and sua...

*if you listen really closely, you can hear something very faint behind the On your icy lips line specifically (at about 3:20 in the video) and only that line. I don't think it's a harmony exactly, but I'm... also not confident enough in my hearing ability to actually what it is
