An interesting idea! I think that Azure would be loathe to compare himself to Nezha just based on the fact that he’s a servant (or pawn as he’d put it) of Heaven and he despises him for that reason.. but Azure is also very proud, and he views himself as a person who is willing to make difficult decisions because he believes it is the right and just way. If he were to get wind of these argument going on in the SpicyLotusNoodles love triangle, I think he probably would side with Nezha, despite his initial reluctance to compare himself to him.

Not only is it true in Azure’s opinion that sometimes unwanted sacrifices have to be made in the pursuit of the greater good, but also Nezha seems to be a good influence on MK in that same way. He really can’t help but compare himself to Nezha in the way he tries to help MK see that his self-sacrificial nature is not inherently a bad thing. Wanting to carry the world on your shoulders in order to help others, to protect those you care about and make the world a better place and fully believing- no, knowing- that you are the only one capable of doing so… well, that’s Azure all over.

The MacaquexWukongxAzure love triangle that happened in the past getting rehashed again vicariously through Prince RedxMKxNezha is so funny but also exactly the kind of bullshit that Mac and Azure would get up to, isn’t it? The best part is, Macaque is probably fully aware of the implications of them taking sides and how it relates to their history with Sun Wukong.. meanwhile Azure Lion is probably fully oblivious to the metaphor. What does Sun Wukong have to do with this, after all? Azure just thinks that Nezha makes MK a better, more capable person with his influence and Prince Red is a coward who doesn’t deserve him. What? Who said anything about Macaque? :U
