Lestat does not care about racism because he believes that vampires are inherently far superior to human beings, so classifications such as race are simply not vampire concerns for him.

The fact that people refuse to see this evidence in order to have fun saying that Lestat is a real and pure racist is ridiculous...

There is a big difference between being racist, and not considering this issue at all.

Not to say that Lestat's ignorant behavior on the subject is correct, but there is a context that people refuse to accept behind it. Namely the vampire context.

Trying to ignore it just because vampires can have human traits is stupid because you will never be able to complete judge vampires on a human scale.

Once again, Lestat and his ignorant behavior towards the cause of Louis and Claudia is not due to inherent racism in him, but to a detachment from humanity for these specific considerations.

For him, he, Louis and Claudia are above this kind of thing because humans are now their food. Societal / social barriers are no longer a question for them. He probably doesn't even understand why they are still attached to it.

Probably because he is both older as a vampire and because as a white man, he has never been affected by this racism. His abuse as a human was very different than Louis and Claudia's when they were alive.

one thing iwtv is really good at is body language. i was doing research for a post and i noticed something. in paris when louis is with armand he often has the same pose. this meek, servile, self protective, closed off pose with his hands covering his stomach:

he's partly putting on a mask in front of armand, partly mirroring him to pacify him (the difference is: armand is being regal cause he's maitre while louis is letting him know he recognises that), partly hiding from armand and instinctively protecting himself like an animal sensing danger.

he does this a lot in paris, then it seemingly disappears after the bench scene (louis really actually thought he finally got the upper hand and was in control of the situation).

but no, it sometimes still happens after paris. like in 2x01 when louis asks armand if he can see the missing pages from claudia's diary:

it looks like louis is just doing his buttons and belt but he's actually using this to hide his nervousness. he knows he shouldn't ask for this and he's somewhat scared of armand's reaction.

he also does this in 2x02 back in paris when armand introduces louis and claudia to the coven and someone asks about their maker. louis was already nervous before, you can see him fidgeting with his hands throughout the scene, but when asked about his maker he clutches his own clothes:

notice that claudia is better at keeping her cool, or maybe just less cautious at this point. (she's staring at lestat's portrait here btw.)

similarly, louis also uses his camera to adopt this pose while also trying to pass it off as casual instead of nervous, secretive and guarded. in 2x03 when armand comes to their apartment unannounced and uninvited louis goes to look who's at the door and he's pretty relaxed despite not waiting for anybody but as soon as he sees armand he instantly tenses up:

he keeps this pose throughout the scene and even later on when they go for a walk:

we also see a similar pose in 2x05 right before the fight, his hands going up to his stomach on instinct:

louis knows armand is pissed and he's ready to defend himself. this time it's not about seeming agreeable or respectful, it's about being ready to fight and literally throw hands with armand, which is exactly what happens cause they both can tell they're not letting it slide this time. they both WANT to fight, so they do.

i'll finish this by saying that louis is never ever like this with lestat. this pose is for armand and it speaks volumes.

my favorite part of your loustat hug post is neither of them being surprised by the other’s emotional outburst which tells me this was very much the norm between them! hugging + consoling one another (which we already see lestat do when louis is upset about his nephew) I can’t wait to see more of that! they’re a lot more loving to each other than the fans give them credit for :)

And something else?

When Lestat starts with "September 8th 1973", Louis looks away, because he knows. He already knows what Lestat is going to say and how he's going to react to Louis hurting himself.

It goes back to the moment in 1x03 I haven't seen anyone mention, which is when Louis came home from being with Jonah, he hid the bite wound on his arm from Lestat, because he knew Lestat would lose his mind over Louis being hurt and Louis self-harming to resist his hunger. Combine that with Lestat's breakdown later in the episode about Louis not properly feeding, which was a form of self-harm, and it was all a giant hint to demonstrate Lestat's concern for Louis' wellbeing and how the prospect of Louis being hurt in any way, shape, or form would send Lestat into shambles.

Lestat loves Louis. Louis has always been his top priority, and Louis knows this.
