I've been thinking about all those quiet, tender moments between Louis and Lestat we've yet to fully see and honestly? I think their hug says everything.

Because before Louis crashes into his arms, you can see a glimpse of Lestat instinctually holding his arms open for Louis.

Lestat was truly already opening his arms for Louis, ready to catch him, the moment Louis started crying, like it's second nature, and I'm in a puddle on the floor thinking about the implication in that Louis probably cried in Lestat's arms many times during their relationship à la what we saw in 1x02 when Lestat sweetly wiped Louis' tears and warmly stroked Louis' shoulder.

Lestat has always been Louis' shelter. Lestat was always there to comfort him with literal open arms and unconditional love, and we're seeing that deeply intimate part of their relationship, that inherent cord which causes them to breathe in sync and their hearts to beat in sync, manifesting in their first hug in over 80 years, because Lestat's soothing and loving presence is no longer only a yearning dream for Louis. He is finally real for Louis to reach out and truly hold, which he's been aching to do since 1940 when Claudia probably had to drag a sobbing and hysterical Louis away from Lestat's body.

And of course, Lestat is ready to collapse with emotion, literally trembling he's so overwhelmed, because he's relieved to have his beloved Louis safe and alive and back in his arms. This is the first time in over 80 years either of them are able to truly breathe and just allow their souls to rest, because they are back in the healing solace of each other's arms. At last, they are home. 🥹♥️

I really wish the show would’ve added more tender and intimate (not necessarily explicit) scenes of Loustat. They didn’t have to be long but just have them there, to show us the quiet moments of their relationship. Obviously I know this is a retelling, louis didn’t want to show us those moments and you had Armand’s influence too. I’m not necessarily talking about that aspect of things but just in general.. like if we had a little of dreamstat in s1 to balance out everything, am I making sense. do you think they’re saving it for s3 when we watch their slow burn..

It does make sense.

For what it's worth and I could be wrong, but I'm not sold on classifying their future dynamic as a slow burn either. That's just.....not how those two work. As Jacob has pointed out, from The Vampire Lestat onward, they are very much a couple. The thing is their companionship, at that point in the books, was still riddled with issues. However, that was partly due to the fact Louis simply wasn't ready. It was a paralleling journey with Lestat. The show has upped the ante with them. Lestat is different here. The love story is no longer subtly between the lines with Louis keeping a distance. Louis has already experienced the transformation that happened with his suicide attempt, and that was done deliberately to essentially erase the hesitance on Louis' part and the back and forth with Lestat that happened in the books.

Therefore, I don't agree with these notions about it being a slow burn or them having to "earn" the relationship etc. It's simply not like that, because the love between them is too much and too overwhelming and too powerful. As Sam has said, they're not going to be buddies going on picnics. They will always set each other's worlds on fire, and I think seeing them together in S3, knowing what we know about each one of them individually — how they grieved the other and how they love each other desperately — I think it will be something really special to behold, and it won't fit into any humanistic categories exactly because they are not human and what they have transcends those confines.

But all of that is just as a note. ^^

Because yes, I do believe Lestat's POV of Louis will be something else entirely. We saw glimpses of the tenderness and deep intimacy between them even from Louis. Lestat's POV is just going to give us the full magnitude in explicit, blazing colors.

The biggest telltale moment rattling in my mind is the letter. The man who wrote a letter like that? Get ready to see their love story written in pure lovestruck poetry.

And of course, I'm also very interested to see how they fully delve into the revelations that one, Louis and Lestat breathe in sync and their hearts beat in sync and two, they can feel each other's emotions. That kind of connection.....I get goosebumps just imagining the possibilities of how those elements could be incorporated to complete the picture Louis has already painted of their fatal love.

No fr every time I’m like man y’all better not read the books you’re gonna be real mad when you find out they end up together at the end of the series. Louis and Lestat’s relationship is literally the most important one in the damn books. Even when Lestat goes off on all his crazy little adventures he always comes back to him over and over. Like sorry homie it’s always been about them.

There is nothing more annoying than seeing all these people claiming that the Loustat relationship is not a romance but simply a toxic relationship, as if these two elements are automatically exclusive, especially in a vampire story. Even more so in a story that is essentially in the gothic horror genre. What do these people expect ? Because I have the impression that they are convinced that Loustat will end up separating for good, seeing the light as some say, to concretize their message about the dangerousness of toxic relationships when that is not the goal of the story. These people will surely be hugely disappointed by the end of this story, because Loustat is just endgame in fact. 😂
