It’s fascinating to consider how What We Do in the Shadows - a modern goofy comedy with the freedom to basically do whatever it wanted in terms of depicting queer characters - still struggled to be earnestly queer in the end.

Then as it was airing, Interview With the Vampire - a decades-old property which inspired WWDITS while having a complex relationship to its own queerness - got a modern adaptation that was proudly, dramatically, undeniably queer.

Just… interesting to think about!
