Before the first episode came out I had a few theories about Donna’s daughter being named Rose and tbh most of them are really simple because I’m bad at theories but I loved them
My first was that even though Donna had her memories wiped she still subconsciously remembered things a little but she dismissed it as dreams and she just really liked the name Rose and named her child that but then I saw that the character was going to be trans so she wouldn’t have been named Rose at birth.
This lead to my second theory that is similar to first in that Donna still subconsciously remembered a lot of things and told stories to Rose of a brave girl called Rose which she thought was just a made up story she dreamt of and the stories stuck with Rose so much that she chose that name.
However!
The real thing that happened that Rose inherited the Metacrisis and could kind of deep down remember the adventures The Doctor and her mum went on and she probably felt the love and importance that belonged to the name Rose so she chose that name because she too was entering a new part of her life and wanted to feel loved too is brilliant and Rose fits her.

if i keep seeing so many people refer to ayden as an indication of an unknown softness in pelor i will start setting things on fire. just because YOU cannot handle nuance does not mean the story of exandria has not contained it and done so consistently. in fact the first in depth interaction that any party had with pelor (vex becoming his champion) was a portrayal of him that was explicit in his complexity. taken straight from the transcript for 1x104 elysium, “[vex you] spin and look, whereas there once was a burning star-- and to the rest of [vox machina], you see the painful, endless light that averts your gaze-- it doesn't hurt your eyes as much, and you can see the faint features, the soft cheeks, the hairless head, and the bright warm eyes of he who brings the dawn. And you can see the smile there, behind the light. “there is hope.”” sunlight can warm you and burn you in equal measure.
that burning image of the sun has much in common with a teenage boy who steps into a dark room, and reminds the dm that it’s not dark. the same way that a teenage boy who stands by as a woman who will not give up her worship of pelor is punished because he has more important responsibilities he must honour has much in common with a seemingly benevolent lord of the dawn might respond harshly to a cleric who asks if he is worth saving while he is trying to find a way to survive so he might keep helping to provide light. the gods aren’t simple and they never have been. i am as psyched about the particular angle that downfall is taking as anybody but it is already frustrating watching people act like the gods are suddenly more nuanced because they’re in literally mortal bodies when the entire Point of the gods in exandria in the various stories we’ve seen so far is that the only difference they have with mortals is the bounds of their power. they carry all the same flaws and the same profundity. just because so much of the fandom has reduced that to black and white flatness or faulty mapping onto real world religions (or the various traumas those might have caused individuals) doesn’t mean that complexity has been missing at all from the story.

"I have many fears, most of them about Lucrezia." — Cesare Borgia (The Borgias, 2011-2013) + hints of insecurity
that she adores someone that much / if she will reject his dark nature and act of love and violence as Ursula did / if he truly is not part of her desires / that she easily forgets him
#i have so many thoughts on these two#hes such a clingy brother wth#as much as he soothes her it is only by asking lucrezia verbally or#by looking at her that his fears and insecurities in her life can be soothed#cesare torn between - being relieved she had some joy in the ruthless marriage he had no power to prevent and did not even want to bless#or being envious there is someone else now when his little sister once said she will not love anyone as much as she loves him#but Accepting it anyways because it is impossible loves and maybe he is starting to become aware his love falls in this same category.#“should i envy this narcissus low-born who shall never see you again because of his impossible love for you when i love you just the same?”#the knife more surprise than fear. in a time when he did not love himself...“she accepts me as i am? as i do her”#biting her as if another black panther pet looking for reassurance that their love#that HE is still included in her perfect world even if he himself pulls away#“surely you're in agony as much as i am? are you already satisfied with your child and husband if we cannot share our love openly?”#“your eyes drift to mine when you say 'husband' am i not he? do you see me as so even when it was just 'tonight'?”#and then his sudden gaze as if to look for truth because how can she forget him when he only thinks of her#AND AGAIN pulling away being eaten by shame and guilt of corrupting her (when their relationship is not just his doing)#torn between hope (we have the capacity to forget and move on) and hope (our love has that much devil power over her)#cesare as the god or the devil or whatever it is that overwhelms whether at war or in love#cesare is one confident man and even if his insecurities has layers of righteousness and importance..it is still insecurity nonetheless#and only for lucrezia#lucrezia borgia#cesare borgia#cesare x lucrezia#the borgias#dailyborgia#perioddramaedit#perioddramasource#weloveperioddrama#onlyperioddramas#romancegifs#the borgiasedit

Adorable lassies
Lego Monkie Kid: Bai-He Head canons
Tumblr media
- She works with her grandparent’s cat shelter (the cat she was trying to reach in her debut episode was a recent addition and runs away a lot)
- Her parents died in an accident when she was barely a toddler, and she doesn’t remember them. Her grandparents are very gentle and kind and love her dearly. When she went missing, they were beside themselves with worry and grief.
- Hobbies include sewing/needlework, ribbon-dancing, gymnastics, cooking/baking, scrapbooking and taking care of cats.
– She used to attend ribbon-dancing+ gymnastics classes before she was taken over by LBD. She begins attending them again with encouragement from MK+ Mei, who also join in. (Macaque tries to join her as well but he actually severely sucks at ribbon dancing) Nezha eventually drops in, citing that he is keeping an eye on her before it becomes an excuse to join in.
- She is sensitive to louder noises and intense light due to autism. She also has OCD ala intrusive thoughts.
- She gets along better with animals than humans. Bai-He often finds herself at Sandy’s with his army of therapy cats, which only grows with the cats she takes care of. Eventually she introduces Sandy to her grandparents and start taking care of even more cats.
- Mei is the best big sister to Bai-He and the two help one another branch out in what they experience and like. When the two first went out on a girl’s night, Mei took Bai-He to all her favorite places; but they overwhelmed Bai-He from the loud noises and flashing lights and she got sensory overload.
Mei learns to slow down and appreciate the things around her at a slower pace and Bai-He regains the courage to put herself out there.
- Bai-He and Redson are a bit more awkward around one another, considering that: 1. The two have little in common. 2. Redson doesn’t trust her after being possessed by LBD due to him becoming more protective of Mei and MK.
Then Bai-He starts trying to help him woo Mei and Redson starts to bond with her a bit more. He becomes aggressive in trying to boost her self-esteem (“If you could funnel half the time and energy you waste doubting yourself into becoming more than you are, you’d already be as strong as Noodle-boy!”)
- MK is someone Bai-He deeply admires and strives to emulate. Whether her feelings are platonic or romantic (just putting it out there, I ship it), she is someone who sees through MK and is able to help him be honest with his feelings rather than putting on a brave face while he helps her find confidence in herself despite the pain she went through. (Similar to Oscar and Ruby’s dynamic from RWBY+ Shirou and Sakura’s dynamic from Fate StayNight: Heaven’s Feel)
- Bai-He is more of a caretaker to Macaque than a student at first: she is appalled at his dojo’s state and his own lack of hygiene, so the first week is spent with her aggressively cleaning (and Macaque is stuck in a circle she drew so he doesn’t make more of a mess) before yeeting said monkey into the washing machine.
When Macaque hisses and scratches or tries to intimidate her, Bai-He is unmoved and unphased and continues to care for him the same way she does any of the more feral and pissy cats that come to the shelter. She takes none of his sass, having already been exposed to him through LBD (which she remembers). He only becomes a teacher and/or dad figure to Bai-He after character development.
- Bai-He does suffer from nightmares and severe lack of self-esteem from being possessed for so long. She hates LBD with a passion and pushes herself to become stronger so that would never happen again, as well as to “earn” a place beside the people who saved her and the one she admires the most (MK)
This also serves to highlight that Macaque’s teaching style worsens the above as Bai-He feels the need to make herself as strong as possible, even if it hurts her. And Macaque sees first-hand how he can negatively affect someone he cares for, and he changes how he teaches as a result.
- Bai-He incorporates her ribbon dancing into how she fights, using a rope dart and/or three-section staff. Eventually, she gains the diamond snare and uses it to great effect as a weapon.

Vivienne's fear being 'becoming irrelevant' isn't something that's linked explicitly to her pride, no matter what Solas says about her (and the irony of Mr.Pride himself saying that should not be lost on you), it reveals what and who Vivienne truly is.
She's a survivalist.
Because we don't spend as much time in the Free Marches or Orlesian circles, we don't get to experience what being a mage is in these cultures. In Ferelden and Kirkwall, a mage is a lesser being without freedom no matter what they do--but in the Free Marches and Orlais specifically, mages are commodities that are given freedom so long as they play an entertaining enough role. They can explore the world if they have a noble patron, if they catch the right person's eye. They are, in a way, two sides of the same coin--refusing mages agency and forcing them to relay on higher powers. Vivienne lucked out, as sad as it is, when Bastion fell in love with her; she found someone who was contrarian enough to recognize her as a full person and also someone with power that could help her rise through the ranks. This is not to say that Vivienne on her own wasn't an exceedingly talented and intelligent individual--by nineteen she was already the youngest full fledged mage in Circle history and she was skilled enough to make herself an enchanter. But, I can not emphasize this enough, none of that matters if she didn't also play the Game and impress enough people.
Vivienne could have been the most brilliant mage in the history of Thedas and it means nothing if she was overlooked by nobility.
So when Bastion made her his mistress, she gained not just a lover but also a means to an end. Now she can use her magic to protect herself. Now she can roam where she wants and not be question for it because she's Madame Vivienne. Now, she can walk into the Orlasian court and belong there.
And what happens? Celene notices her and makes her the Court Enchanter, a position that has always been the equivalent of a jester. Vivienne took that title, ignored that it was essentially a glorified insult to who she is, and made it a position of power. She made the Court Enchanter into an advisor, a political rank. She had done the impossible and made mages an actual political entity in the Orlasian Court, something that wasn't seen outside of Tervinter (not counting what players can do under very specific conditions if they made mages in DAO and DA2).
All that, however, only continues as long as the court recognizes her as something worth their attention. Vivienne needs to maintain her act as Madame De Fer, The Lady of Iron, the Court Enchanter, The Jewel of the High Court, because the second she just becomes Vivienne, it's over for her. The assassins coming raining in, her name gets devoured by rumors and gossip, and she'll be found dead at bottom of the stair case with a dagger in her back if she's lucky.
So of course when the Circles fall apart during the Rebellion, she clings to that Loyalist Mages to maintain that structure--of course she moves her pieces to the Inquisition, knowing that if the Circle DOES fall, she at least as another place for herself and mages latch onto--of course when she hears that Celene replaced her with a new Court Enchanter that appeared out of no where, she grows to resent Morrigan.
Like, Morrigan literally pops up out of thin air, makes herself invaluable to Celene, and then plants herself in the place Vivienne had to claw her way up to and create so she could survive. Would you not be resentful when your life's work is usurped by some random witch of the wilds because she happened to charm the Empress? Everything Vivienne strived for all whisked away because the court find a gem who glimmers ever so slightly more than Vivienne.
So yes, Vivienne fears becoming irrelevant because the world has made it so that irrelevance for an Orlesian mage means death.
