the funny thing about carmy having to stand in the middle of culinary colleagues discussing their climb to their individual successes; is how baffled he is to silence that they’re able to talk about everything in a positive, albeit comically, uplifting light. as though they’ve lived past beyond waiting for the pot to boil. while carmy is still just there, with his hands in the simmering water. he wonders how any of this will be survivable, let alone worthy to reminisce. all his grief in clenched fists, and his grudges close to his chest; he decides he must make something he deems worthy out of all his damage. how it must count for something.

I've got spoiler tags totally blocked for now so have seen absolutely nothing s4 wise (save like 1 innocuous gif from ep 1 that made me remember to block them in the first place) but yeah.

Will probably take me a while to watch because I'm bad at watching tv now but am interested in seeing how everything ends! From like one or two un-spoilertagged posts I saw some people seemed upset about something or other (again, I'm spoiler free atm so didn't see any reasoning why) which gives me some small worries but I'm definitely going to try and be thoughtful and do my best to be reasonable abt everything (bc show endings are Hard)

Saying that because while I'm a positive person generally, my current fandom is w/o doubt on the (hyper)critical side (said with love, I'm part of the "problem" <33333) so at least personally I'm going to be making an effort to go into this positively and try to not be TOO critical of the details. At least until I finish it and can speak more & with clarity
