r/FDC sucks

I have a small rant about r/FDC that I needed to post on here. This is to all the disabled/mentally ill/neurodivergent people who post on r/FDC. You all loathe yourselves and it SHOWS. Anytime someone talks about how ableist and annoying r/FDC is, I see so many comments say things like "ACTUALLY mentally ill people hate fakers and hate themselves!" or "people who actually have said disorder are absolutely miserable and suffering immensely" Like that's just projection. Look, I don't like my mental illness. Nobody does. But there are some things that you can't change. People on r/FDC will get mad at any minor who have multiple disorders and/or post about it. God forbid someone accept themselves and TRY to bring some positive light on their disorders. And this is coming from someone who used to religiously scroll through r/FDC because I hated myself and my disorder so much that I resented the people who could post about their disorder in positive ways. Also, there are so many people on r/FDC who use their disability to say they aren't ableist. You can be disabled AND be ableist.

How Anti Endos made me in denial even longer, and how Pro Endos made me Accept it

When I was younger, I always had Red at my side. Red is my protector, he always has been. I didn’t understand him, I didn’t understand his existence. I’d hear about DID, I met people with DID, but to me Red didn’t match what they have felt. I would tell people that I had another person in my head, someone who may allude to DID but I’d affirm that it was not DID. It was something else to me, something I didn’t know for sure. At some point I thought that Red was given to me by the Gods. He would deny this but it’s what made sense to me.

I was in anti endo circles, I still saw myself as a singlet and my system friends were very anti endo. I thought it was just the right non-harmful sides, I didn’t know the actual arguments. I just thought that’s how it was supposed to be because DID hasn’t made sense to me yet. I was a “singlet” who didn’t understand why there was another with me. anti endos circled around r/fdc and I didn’t want to accept that I may have a headmate because I didn’t want to be a dirty faker like they all hated. I didn’t want to be harmful towards my friends

One time I saw this pro endo term, it was about a system granted by deities. This made me think, but I ended up just blocking them because no endos are bad right?

then I saw an anti endo argue that schitzogenic is dangerous and thoughts in someone’s head was stupid and fake and just hallucinations. I thought “but between you and them, what is the difference in the idea that they have someone in their head too?”

then I found the term plural, it was inclusive, it made sense to me. But I stayed in denial

then scald appeared, he was loud, he would front a lot, he wouldn’t just appear when I was in danger like red did. I decided to take the term plural, I didn’t call myself a system yet, at the time plural is what made sense. I felt like I didn’t have the right to “appropriate” the did struggle. I was plural, I was many. Then finally at some point

I realized I could have DID, my headmates were sourced from trauma. Things started to connect, I stopped denying it. I had to the way Scald would be. Anti endos held me back, pro endos saved me. I owe them everything.

It's time to talk about the how internet fakeclaiming pixielocks have impacted the overall DID community as well as the fakeclaimer community themselves.

So hi, I'm Morgan and I'm a part of an autistic DID system and I also love watching Pixielocks and her content.

With Pixielocks DID content I (and others in the system) finally felt seen. Pixielocks was and still is something our system strives to be, the path of functional multiplicity, cosplay and fashion design, colorful perspective and rainbow surroundings. Being able to look up to someone like that and watch them also talk about the ups and downs of the disorder we also deal with means so so much to us.

And you know what fucking sucks? To lose that sense of comfort, because fakeclaimers want internet saviour points and clout. And I completely understand Pixielocks side too, it's a good business strategy to just steer away and let the negative attention die down. (Side note: I still very much enjoy Pixielocks non DID content) But my point is that those who fakeclaimed Pixielocks DO NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE WITH DID. They are the attention whores. They don't care about us one bit.

The internet's obsession with fakeclaiming anything unusual (or dare I say autistic traits) is damaging and disgusting. Places like r/systemcringe and r/FDC will only ever accept those whose DID is pure suffering and whose idea of healing is final fusion - provided they don't have uncommon gender identities, neopronouns, fictives, etc of course.

Oh and a side note - if you're a system who engages fakeclaiming others or in r/FDC or r/systemcringe you're a mean fucking cunt and I hope the validation from people who hate us for existing is worth it.

I hate this vision of “the future is singlet”. It shouldn’t be. The future should accept plurality, not meet it with disbelief and disgust. It doesn’t matter what you believe about endogenic systems, “the future is plural” isn’t advocating for more systems. It’s advocating for more plural acceptance. Isn’t that what we WANT? Don’t we WANT systems to be believed when they say they’re a system? Don’t we WANT systems to get the support and resources they need (may) need? Don’t we WANT people to not call systems crazy/delusional/psychotic/etc for being systems? What is wrong with people who say the future is singlet???? It’s supposed to be plural, because the future being plural means less fear-mongering and terror around system-hood. it means less movies likes Split. It means people actually supporting and uplifting systems. It means less r/FDC or r/systemcringe. It means more acceptance, more love for systems.

Your stance on endogenic systems does not matter here, your desire for a plural-accepting world does and should be the only thing that matters.

R/systemscringe and R/FDC are hateful subreddits by the way and posting to them or supporting them makes you a hateful being.

There is no good explanation for supporting a place where people, who are mostly middle and high schoolers may I add, get posted to be mocked, bullied, be armchaired diagnosed, and ultimately be told they are liars and the reason ableism exists.

This sort of behaviour and shaming people helps no one, no, not even the "ideal mentally ill" people who are quiet and don't talk about their mental illness.

These subreddits are filled to the brim with blatant ableism [dubbing everyone delusional, FDC literally banned people from talking about their disorders in the comments] and plain old bullying [No, calling people attention whores and sad/pathetic is not "good bullying"]

Syscourse is the stupidest shit ever. The fact that endogenic “systems” are being given attention at all is a problem. These arguments are pointless and they’re flooding the community with useless shit. If you’re still arguing with endogenics you’re wasting your time. These little weirdos are going to insist the most horrific shit and you feeding it makes them keep going.

I say flood the community with useless shit. I guess I’d say the entire did community had been completely flooded with misinformation and sensationalism. Absolute Bafoonery. Did spaces don’t feel safe anymore and all of this is the reason why.

Subreddits, discord servers, tumblr, instagram, TikTok- all flooded with bullshit. The only way I can get support is with a therapist who isn’t available at all save once a month. Online spaces that people try to find help for their mental health in have been absolutely ruined.

Everyone gets mad at subreddits like fdc and sc, and while I get the hate, they’re at least acknowledging an issue, even if the execution can (and often does) suck.
