Me: I don't like Cats the musical. You could not pay me to ever see it live.
Perelman Performing Arts Center: We're doing a version of Cats inspired by ballroom culture!
Me: Ok... that's definitely interesting... I could be into it... but NO still you can't make me want to see it.
PAC: Here's some rehearsal footage of the cast vogueing to Jellicle Ball!
Me: ...I hate that this actually is working... it fits a little too well...
PAC: Also André De Shields is playing Old Deuteronomy!
Me: ...Why must satan tempt me in this way...
#by satan i mean alw#i must say generally i have nothing but love for people who perform in cats (minus the movie. or i guess minus like 75% of the movie cast)#when i watched the 98 version i was like 'wow every single person on this stage is a quadruple threat'#since they could all dance and sing and act and do tricks too#and i adore the original costume and make-up design. totally genius. oh and the set design too.#i always just say that the cast and crew deserve a better show#i've even gone as far as to dive into documentaries about the making of cats and stuff. i still just can't get into it.#i know people love it and i love that for them. i too love weird musicals. just not this one unfortunately.#maybe in this new setting for this production i'd enjoy the show more#and boy is it trying to get me to go and see it. truly that vogueing video. i was so mad.#it was like me watching Solo and seeing them fix the kessel run mistake.#i was like 'NO. no. i'm mad. no. i hate that this is fixed. no. i'm so angry.' when i realized how they were fixing it.#like cool this is better but god i'm mad at the fact that this is better#maybe in august or if it extends AGAIN i'll go and see it. but at least for this first month of performances i won't see it#i wouldn't want to feel like i'm taking away a ticket from an actual fan who already loves the show#while i'd be going mostly to see if they can change my mind about the show#(ALSO. i did not tag this as anything. so no coming at me saying i'm putting hate in a tag)#(if this post shows up in searches then that's tumblr's fault for changing how searches and tagged posts work)#(this is barely hate this is just me being mad while complimenting artistic choices. but even if it was hate i'm still not tagging hate.)#(so don't come at me)

Hi @netflix and @warnerbrostv! I'd like to talk about the show Supernatural and how its history and legacy can provide some insight on why you should reconsider your decision to end Dead Boy Detectives after one singular season.
Supernatural is undoubtedly one of the most successful television fantasy franchises, but many don't know that it was nearly cancelled after season 2. Thankfully (and luckily) for the network they didn't go through with cancelling the show and by season 4 it was regularly breaking viewership records. A show that was nearly cut short in its prime - much like Dead Boy Detectives - became one of the largest and most recognizable fandoms across social media platforms between the years of 2010 and 2014. The show was so wildly popular that a confession scene between two of its leading characters (Dean and Cas) is STILL used today in a meme format to circulate everything from fandom news to world politics and current events. You can't go to a single comic-con without running into something relating to Supernatural, and ever since its conclusion there has been an opening in the market for a show to take its place.
I can say with absolute certainty that, given the proper time to flourish, Dead Boy Detectives would be the show to fill the spot Supernatural has left behind. It has loads of charm alongside a sensational balance of action, whimsy, heartwrenching character development, and horror. Furthermore it is objectively better with representation than Supernatural was, which is always something embraced in fandom spaces (which are diverse and filled to the brim with queer, neurodivergent, and/or a wide range of people of color).
I also think it's fair to remind you that one of your most popular "Nerd" shows, Stranger Things, is coming to an end after a 10-year-run, leaving behind yet another gap to fill, but this time on your very own platform.
It isn't too late to reconsider the cancellation of Dead Boy Detectives. The fanbase is dedicated and hungry for more, and we know you are currently sitting on finished season 2 scripts, making it impossible for the writers to take this story anywhere else for quite some time. The scripts are there, the cast, crew, and writers love what they do and want to make more... there's simply no reason to not give Dead Boy Detectives the chance it deserves - this time with an entire fandom that wants nothing more than to consume this show, market the hell out of it, and buy merch relating to it (another win for you).
(Source x)
Oh and did I mention that Steve Yockey was a co-producer on Supernatural as well? You know, that wildly popular show I just told you about that lasted 15 seasons. You are sitting on a golden goose; Steve Yockey and Beth Schwartz, among the other talented writers, cast, and crew, know what they're doing.
Give this show its time and market it well and you will have a hit on your hands. Frankly just based on the steady, continual fandom growth since Dead Boy Detectives' release in April and the vocal outrage over its cancellation just in the last 24 hours, I'd argue you already have a hit on your hands that rivals several shows you currently have on your platform.
Dead Boy Detectives has one of the most active fandoms of the year - do the right thing by them and bring Dead Boy Detectives back. It isn't too late!

I am genuinely so devastated right now.
It might sound silly but I have actually been crying today. I'm not sure this post will properly articulate my thoughts but I'm going to try because this show and this fandom deserves that at the very least.
Dead Boy Detectives was one of the most amazing, agonisingly beautiful, and in my opinion perfect shows I have ever watched. The writing, the acting, the camera work, the cgi, all of it. Every single part. I honestly don't think I could name another show that comes close for me that I have actually watched all the way through and over and over again.
Losing this show has genuinely broken me. And I am not just upset for myself, and the fact we won't see a true end to the story that was started. I am upset for every single person who also found a home with this show and this fandom like I have. And possibly most of all I am upset for the cast and crew and everyone who was involved in making Dead Boy Detectives happen.
To speak on the first point, I know that everyone I personally helped find the show genuinely enjoyed it, even if it wasn't their typical thing. Every single one said that they would love to see where the show takes things in future. To have that taken from all of us is painful enough.
And I know that myself, and many others, found a home and a safe place within this fandom. I remember how we watched the show over and over again desperate to stop this from happening. We all came together and gave this show all the love we had, and I know we will continue to do so through the fandom and fanfiction and everything we can.
But for me, one of the things that possibly hurts the most is that this has been taken not only from us, but from the cast and crew as well. I think it is clear to see how much they loved this show as well, the characters they played, the scenes they crafted. They all deserve so much better than this.
And I think, personally, this proves that Netflix never will be better. They will always cancel the shows that people genuinely love and highly review (a 92% and 90% rotten tomatoes score clearly meant nothing to them) purely because it doesn't align with the views of the higher ups with the money. Funny how every single queer show with a strong queer fanbase doesn't last more than a season. To me, it feels like the platform is trying to queerbait. Not the show of course, never that, but it feels like every now and then Netflix will make a queer show to get us all back on their platform watching it, and then delays their cancellation decision to squeeze every last view from us. So much so I am not sure I will be able to watch it on Netflix's platform again, I don't know on that point just yet but that is how I feel in this moment. Dead Boy Detectives did not deserve this treatment, and I'm not sure why, but I still have hope that perhaps a different and better platform might pick it up. But even that feels sadly not plausible.
Rant aside, this show meant everything to me. It was raw and honest and funny and just everything it should have been. I hope that we as a fandom make sure this show never dies in our love for it and the fan works we create and will continue to create.
I have run out of words for now, eventhough I am sure there is more I could say.
I have so much love for this fandom and the cast and crew, all of whom poured all their love into this show. I hope we will continue to do so, however we can. And thank you, all of you, for giving me a home I felt safe in.
Dead Boy Detectives, forever 💜

A/N: Bucky’s look is obviously inspired by Sebastian’s appearance at D23 Expo in 2022. Also, this happens a few months after the second part, in October.
An extra thank you to @marvelouslizzie and @lavenderhaze967 for being my beta readers and for the endless support.
Please, do not repost or translate without my permission!
You really can’t decide what to say. The remark came so unexpectedly, you were taken aback.
You don’t know how they knew about your vacation. The photos and some false info were spread all over the internet, and you found out only after you came back home.
You expected things to calm down from July until now, though, but they didn’t. They actually became worse and worse. But despite that, you didn’t even think you were going to get this type of comment tonight, especially since you announced you refuse to talk about your personal life. You should have known better… Bucky was right, you can never trust the press and you should never have expectations.
“Even though this has nothing to do with tonight and I said I won’t talk about anything related to my personal life multiple times...”
“I wasn’t-” The interviewer tries to interrupt you, surprised by your cold tone, but you don’t let her. If they want to speculate, then at least you can let it out now. They can do whatever they want after.
“To make things clear, Mr. Barnes is actually one of the most professional people I’ve ever worked with… one of the best: kind and supportive, and he always gives the best feedback.”
“Miss-”
You ignore her once again, raising your hand to stop her. He is blunt, honest, and hasn’t been anything but professional the whole time. He made a massive contribution to the film industry and he’s been in the public eye for so long... If you had done your research, you’d have known how everyone, especially the women he worked with, talked and talk about him.” You take a deep breath, trying to keep your composure before you look straight at the camera. “Also, no, I did not sleep with him or anyone else to get any kind of role. Thank you!”
You don’t realize how much you’re shaking or how many tears you were holding back until you reach the bathroom. You’re thankful Bucky is inside already. He doesn’t deserve this shitty attitude, and you know he would have made a scene and stopped this on the spot if he’d witnessed it.
*
So you don’t tell Bucky about it, not wanting to give him bad vibes, especially since you know how he already feels about going to events in general. Your table is full when you get there: a part of the cast and the crew along with Bucky’s manager. Natasha couldn’t come this time, but you know everyone, so it’s better than you expected.
“Wine?” Bucky asks you softly, leaning in so only you can hear him.
“Later, please. I have a small headache.”
“Oh, no, baby.” He kisses your forehead as soon as you finish talking. “Do you need a pill?”
You love how he never hides or tries to keep his distance when you go out together. Maybe it’s nothing much after all, but you know how discreet he is, how much he values privacy, and it makes you truly feel a part of his life.
“Don’t worry, it will go away.”
“You’re sure?”
“Yes, yes.” You brush it off with a smile, and he nods, unsure, getting back in his chair properly.
You can’t let your emotions eat you alive, anger or nervousness... you just can’t. But it’s easier said than done because time passes so slowly until your categories are announced. Not even joking around with Bucky’s manager helps. She has such amazing vibes usually, but you are too deep in your thoughts to fully embrace them.
By the time the nominees in your category are announced, Bucky gets you all ice cream, making sure they put two spoons for you: one with chocolate and another with biscuits. It’s so delicious, but you instantly stop eating when the small video with a few of your scenes is projected. People around you clap loudly, but you can’t look around much, your cheeks so flushed when the camera stops on you again. Bucky even whistles using the index and middle fingers of his flash hand, which makes you giggle. He’s so cute!
“And the winner for Best Actress in a Drama is...”
It’s like the world stops for a second: the tension, the lack of air, the ringing in your ear... you can’t hear anything. But you can read body language and see everyone’s shoulders falling. You don’t dare to look at Bucky, only smiling in joy for whoever won and trying to hold back tears. Every woman on that list deserves it. They are all fantastic. You aren’t upset because someone else won. You just feel like a failure because you lost. It’s like you disappointed the people who care about you, who took a shot with you. Bucky... who saw something in you and risked it. You know how silly it is because he isn’t the type of person who would even think that, but you can’t just control the train of thoughts that keeps overwhelming you.
“I’m so sorry, baby.”
You still can’t look at your sweet, comforting Bucky. Fuck, such a crybaby... You just nod and take your spoon with your right hand so you can have more ice cream.
He better wins!
The movie loses shortly after you, and it’s your turn to comfort him. You don’t pay attention to the camera focusing on you or Lucas tapping on his arm in a consolation gesture when you turn your face toward him and kiss his cheek. “I’m sorry, bubba.”
He melts instantly under your touch. “Don’t be.”
But how can you not be? It makes your insides burn. This man you know so well professionally and personally deserves every fucking award this industry has. He is fantastic! The movie was fantastic, too.
The urge to cry takes over you the moment the winner of the best director category is announced, but it’s not Bucky. And you think he senses it because he squeezes your thigh gently to assure you. You…
You cannot believe this.
You have a bitter taste in your mouth for the rest of the night there, which is short since Bucky suggests leaving earlier. You hate awards ceremonies officially, too.
The car ride is no better. You find it harder and harder to hold back your tears, and the last thing you want is Bucky to see. He asked you if you were hungry, and asked you to stay over at his place. How could you say no? No, Bucky, I want to go home and cry angry and disappointed. You spend most of your nights at his house anyway, so it would make him worry. Especially since the distance to your apartment is longer.
You let a deep breath out when he closes the door, turning on the lights as you start to take off your shoes.
“Home sweet home.” He gives you a tired smile.
“Ihm. Finally.” You don’t trust your voice to say more than that and you let your bag and phone on the small table before going straight to the kitchen.
“Next time we’re invited, we ditch to watch a movie or something and make love.”
His words are enough to send you over the edge somehow. When you hear his footsteps closer, you instantly turn around to face the sink, grabbing the kitchen counter in an attempt to hold back the tears. But it’s so hard…
“Baby?”
Fuck, he’s so close.
“Bubba?”
And that’s all you need to burst into tears. But you’re not just crying, you are fully sobbing when you feel his arms wrapping around you.
“Bubba, breathe, please.” He rests his head on your shoulder, and you feel so naked, so bare in a way... Something you feared for so long. You are vulnerable in a way you only let your family see you, not even them maybe. It’s like you’re giving him access to your inner child. And it’s terrifying.
“I-I’m ss-sorry.” You are gasping for air between words, and this makes you feel even worse. You sound so pathetic.
“What are you sorry for, bubba? Focus on breathing, please.” Bucky’s voice is so calm and soothing, you almost let yourself fall into his arms. You can’t believe this safe sensation you feel. It’s shocking to you. You trust him to hold you and comfort you even when you look this deplorable.
“In and out.” You breathe in and out every time he says the words and it slowly becomes easier; the air doesn’t feel like it burns your lungs anymore.
You feel his kisses on the back of your head. “Good girl, perfect. Just like that.”
You open your eyes as soon as your body stops trembling and turn to him instantly. You probably look like a wet raccoon, but you don’t care. You hug him so tight you wonder if he can even breathe. But you can’t let go.
Bucky’s glad he took off his jacket since the zipper would have hurt your face.
“I’m right here, not going anywhere.”
“I’m ss-sorry,” you say weakly, taking a step back. “It’s just so unfair!”
His whole face softens even more. He understands... your first nominee and your first loss. This is never easy, especially for someone ambitious and talented.
“I know it hurts, but I promise you more will come, and they will finally give you the awards you deserve. You were amazing.” He takes your hands into his and brings them to his mouth.
“It’s not about me!”
“What?”
“You deserved to win!” You can’t control the anger in your voice. “This movie, the whole concept, the team... Maybe it’s because of the way I-”
“Stop right there! You have nothing to blame yourself for. And you don’t have to feel bad for me, okay, bubba?” His mouth finds your forehead. “Of course, it bothers me a little, but these awards come and go. Sure, some bring more opportunities, but I don’t give a fuck about it. You were a fantastic lead. You are fantastic! But I promise you, you will get more awards because you deserve them. I was mad for you. Don’t worry about me, alright?”
“But you deserve it!”
“It’s just an award, baby. I am proud of this project and of everyone who was a part of it, especially you. It wasn’t easy and it was emotionally draining.”
He wipes your face, and you curse. You should have worn waterproof mascara.
“I just don’t...”
“Don’t ever blame yourself again.” He pauses. “Actually, you will because you can’t control that, it’s not a switch. What I mean is don’t try to hide from me, don’t let the thoughts overwhelm you before talking to me. Or someone... anyone: your sister, your mom, Natasha. I just want you to know I am here for you.” He kisses your lips shortly. “I got you, and you got me.”
He barely has time to finish his sentence before you grab his face and kiss him, your tongue immediately licking his bottom lip. It’s something about the way he reacted, about his permanent attitude and the way he looks that makes you dizzy. So dizzy that you easily switch from feeling anger and fear to sexual desire.
You keep kissing him until you two can’t breathe anymore. He’s so sweet, so good. You can’t help it...
“I want to suck your cock.”
He opens his eyes instantly.
“What?”
“Want to take you inside my mouth. Now.” You repeat with such urgency that his shock is increasing.
“Wait, you don’t have to-”
But his words die as your hands are already on his belt, taking it off in seconds. When it loudly hits the floor, you unzip the pants, dragging them down along with his boxers with force. So much force he gasps.
“Please, daddy.”
You drop to your knees in seconds, making sure to properly grab the base before leaning in to kiss his wet head.
“Jesus!”
He has to grab the kitchen counter behind you to stand still.
“Just me.” You smirk a little and take more of his cock inside your mouth. He’s getting harder little by little. When you start to move your hand , though? He finally gets in his usual horny mood, understanding you really want this.
“Fuck, look at you! On your knees just for me. So needy!”
You moan, bringing your left hand to his balls as you start to bob your head. You just want him to come.
“Baby, please. Fuck me!” He groans, and you suddenly feel your hair getting pulled hard as if he’s trying to get you away from his cock. You stop sucking just to snap:
“Why are you taking my cock from me?”
“Because it wants to be inside my pussy.”
You snort.
He helps you stand up and kisses you without any worry. You moan when you feel his hands on your breasts, then to your sides, and before you can even say anything, you hear the sound of the material ripping.
“Hurry up!” You complain, waiting for him to finish undressing you as you keep kissing his neck.
Your bra and underwear are next and you can’t believe how free you feel.
“You are so fucking beautiful!”
“Need you, please...”
He nods, immediately lifting you in his arms, and you don’t stop kissing him until your back hits the bed.
“How do you want me?” You ask, and he frowns.
“What do you mean?”
“Position, Bucky.” You try to clean your face with the back of your hand as you wait for his answer.
“We can start like this.” He gets between your legs and lifts them on his shoulders. His hair is messy, all over his forehead, and you giggle, brushing it away from his eyes.
You’re so wet he gets inside you in one movement, and you both moan. The fullness is so good, you arch your back. Sex with Bucky will never get boring, you are sure of it. He’s a perfect combination between caring, desperate, and curious.
“Bucky!”
“Yes, bubba, I’m here.” He kisses you as he starts to thrust. “I’m right here.”
Your legs are wrapped around his ass, pushing him inside you harder every time he pulls almost completely out.
“God, I love your cock so much!”
“Just that?” He pouts, making you laugh. He’s a baby and a daddy at the same time.
“I love you, bubba, you know that.”
“And I” thrust “want” thrust “to hear” thrust “it again and again.”
“Fuck.” You close your eyes, turning your face to the side without realizing.
“Eyes on me, doll. Eyes on daddy.”
“It’s hard...” you cry out, even more turned on by him calling himself your daddy. It fits him so much!
“Fine.” He uses his metal arm to turn you around on your tummy.
“Bucky!” You scream because of the sudden movement and the empty feeling since he pulled out.
“Hands and knees since you don’t want to look at me.”
You shake your head, amused, but you get in the position, raising your ass as much as you can. You love when he fucks you like this. Everything feels deeper, and there’s no distance despite the fact you can’t properly see him or kiss him. “So dramatic of you.”
You flinch without realizing when you feel his palm connecting with your ass cheeks.
“Does it hurt?”
“No, no.” You quickly assure him, looking up when you hear his worried tone. He never spanks you too hard, and the amount of strength he uses makes you enjoy it. It always makes you wet. “Just didn’t expect it.”
“Good.” He kisses your forehead. “Ready?”
“Hurry!”
He quickly gets inside you as soon as you finish speaking, and you gasp. It takes your breath away, but you can’t help but wiggle your ass. His hands grab your hips and he finally starts to literally pound you just the way you both enjoy it. His cold metal fingers feel so good.
“B-Bucky!”
“Do you love it, baby?” You hear him, but you don’t understand how he expects you to answer. You can’t even breathe properly.
“Ihm.”
“Fuck, you’re so wet around me. I love you so much.”
You try to tell him you love him back, but the words are so distorted you give up.
You’re close already.
“Are you gonna come for me? Are you gonna be a good girl and let go? Make daddy prouder?”
And just like that, you come. You don’t hear anything anymore: you can’t distinguish the words, only his voice. You feel so good, so light, that you don’t realize the wave of tears that hits you.
Bucky smiles, knowing these are from so much pleasure, and doesn’t continue to thrust much until he comes inside you. You moan again, encouraging him to fill you. To give you as much come as he has.
“Yes, yes. Please, need your come.” And you know he loses his mind every time you do that. “Please, daddy.”
A few seconds later, you feel him move his hands.
“Fuck me, baby, this was incredible.”
You nod, trying to find your words again.
“Yes, it... it was.” He helps you turn around after he gets out of you and groans.
“You look so fucking good! Perfect to eat right now.”
He makes you laugh before you slowly kiss him, moaning when your tongues find each other. There is something unique about the way he uses that mouth.
“I mean it. Gonna eat you now, ok?”
It’s the only warning you get before your head drops to the bed again and his is between your legs. His shoulders are broad enough to keep your legs extra spread, and you try to keep your eyes open just to enjoy the sight.
But it’s hard. His tongue on your clit then at your entrance, licking and eating his own come combined with yours makes you so weak you have to grab his hair to have a focus point other than his mouth.
“Jamesss.”
Your hips move uncontrolled toward his mouth as soon as you feel him slowing down. He tries to keep your back on the bed by pushing your tummy down with his metal arm, but it’s impossible. The coldness on your skin makes you cry even more.
“Fuck, fuck, Bucky, please...”
You can’t believe how close you are again, but his tongue is always great. You don’t remember a single time he didn’t make you come like this.
You gasp when he moves his tongue up to your clit quickly, which you did not expect. Even though you should have... you should have expected him to bring two metal fingers to your mouth and command you to suck them, then to push them inside you at once as he sucks on your clit. And sucks. And sucks. And when he takes it between his teeth, grazing it just enough, you come.
You don’t even realize you are screaming, the pleasure so overwhelming you can’t think even for a second. And he doesn’t stop, he keeps using his tongue and fingers until you have to beg him to.
You’re trembling, absolutely consumed when he moves up to kiss you.
“Fuck, we taste so good, doll.”
You kiss him again, making sure to lick his lips before he opens his mouth. You taste amazing together, indeed.
“Yes.”
“Good. Are you feeling better now?”
“I can’t feel my body,” you say before laughing.
“Are you sore?”
You touch his face. “I feel well fucked, daddy, don’t worry.”
His face is priceless every time you call him that. It’s funny how a big man like him gets red so easily. You never get over this.
“You and that… name.”
You pinch his chin immediately, stroking his hair. “As if you don’t enjoy it.”
“I do. Look what you did to me!” He shakes his head in a disapproving way, and you feel happy. He makes everything lighter... easier for you. He learned when and how to push you, and it helps that you have a similar sense of humor.
“I’m better now, thank you. It’s just so unfair because you are a wonderful director.”
“Just director?”
You giggle, seeing his pouty mouth. “And writer.”
“And?”
“And?” You raise your eyebrow.
“What else?”
“I don’t-” You burst into laughter when you feel his hands tickling you. “Stop! Stop! F-fine! Best... best boyfriend.”
“What? Didn’t hear you.”
You roll your eyes. He’s so predictable sometimes.
“B-best boyfriend in the world. Now stop! You’re so unfair!”
“Alright.” He gives you a boyish grin, which makes him look so young. His smile never changed from what you saw. His childhood pictures, his college ones... he kept it and it makes him so adorable.
“I love you, old man.”
“Not this again.” He fake puffs before kissing you. “I love you, too.”
*
You wake up with a few notifications and a message from Bucky telling you he’s gone to do some grocery shopping. You were wondering why the house was silent. Even when he wakes up earlier than you and tries to be silent, there is a low sound from the TV or his music player.
What you don’t expect is to have thousands of DMS and following requests as soon as you open your Instagram.
You don’t understand at first, still sleepy and hungry, until you scroll through your feed and see Bucky’s post. You almost drop your phone.
There are two photos. The first is only with you, but you don’t remember when he took it. You’re not looking at the camera, staring at the sunset, so it’s clear he took it without you knowing. He’s had this for months... and he never showed it to you. God, you miss Italy!
When you swipe to the next pic, one with both of you as he’s biting your cheek, you laugh. You were being so silly that day. Your fourth date... He was ready to eat your whole face and he didn’t want to take no for an answer, so you started to bite and suck his chin in return. It was the first time you spent the night at his house. It feels like years ago...
Then your eyes finally drop to the description and you start crying a little.
I already won the best award that exists a few months ago❤️ Thank you for your support!
You notice he turned off the comments, but many common friends liked the post.
Fuck, that means you are officially together everywhere. Wow.
You can’t believe what you woke up to. You two never kept your relationship a secret, but you preferred being discreet. You are aware of how this looks from the outside, both of you do, but does it matter? At the end of the day, the people you care about know the truth, you work hard to get jobs, and that’s enough.
You immediately open your gallery and choose a couple of photos with you and him, then just with him: hugging, Bucky kissing your cheek, him making dance moves, his face up close... some random pics you love.
You choose to use only a red heart as your caption at first, but before you publish, you add a few words because it doesn’t feel enough and even tag him on your boobs.
What a view: @jbuckybarnes #photosdump
Happily, you let the comments on and look for a certain short video you absolutely adore from your vacation: he has his head on your lap, napping soundlessly while you run your hand through his hair. His face might not be visible, but it’s clear it’s him. His shoulders, his moles, and his hair...
You remember how he groaned and whined every time you stopped touching his curls, bringing your hand back to his head.
“Bubba, more...”
Smiling, you tag him in a small font, choosing a color to fit the yacht floor, and post it.
The next fifteen minutes you spend in the bathroom, taking a shower, doing your routine, and changing into some clothes you left here the last time.
“Baby?” You jump when you hear Bucky in the bedroom all of a sudden, but you don’t let the shock hold you back from jumping on him.
He catches you, thankfully, and holds you by the ass as you kiss him all over his face and neck before stopping on his lips. Your tongue finds his and you moan in his mouth shortly after, making him groan, too.
“Good morning!”
“I love you,” you whisper, resting your head on his chest.
“I love you, too. Didn’t want to leave before you woke up, but we needed breakfast.”
“Can’t believe you did that.”
“What?” He asks genuinely confused.
“You know what!” You say, words muffled by the material of his T-shirt. You are surprised how this small normal thing made you so happy you can burst.
“Ah.” He realizes, leaning in a bit to kiss your hair. “I should have done it ages ago.”
You really hate how he tends to take the full blame when it’s not the case. “We then... but now it’s the perfect timing.”
“Yes, the perfect timing.” He carries you around until you are both back in bed.
The breakfast can wait, so can you to see his reaction when he finds your posts.

Confessions
Jenna Ortega x Autistic!Male!Reader
Summary: Unexpected events bring you and Jenna a lot closer
Warnings: Abelism
Words: 4430
A/N: You are Emma myers' twin in this fic.
Y/N pov
It's been too long since I've seen Emma. I'm so proud of my twin sister, she's come so far with her career and now she's in a Tim Burton production, like WHAT?!
Emma's so talented and she deserves every amount of success and fortune the world has to give, she's earned that much.
She's currently filming in Romania for her new show "Wednesday", a spinoff show based on the famous addams family, and specifically the daughter of the family: "Wednesday Addams"; played by Jenna Ortega.
I was invited to come and visit her and the cast and crew on set, flight and accommodation paid for and all. Though I was hesitant, being this far away from home wasn't entirely appealing at first, but I couldn't squander the opportunity to see my sister.
However, that's not the only reason I wanted to go. As luck would have it, I've had a crush on Jenna Ortega for a long time and Emma knew this. She visited our home a few times when Emma and her were getting to know each other. Emma had to introduce me to her as she knows I'm not the best at conversation, especially when meeting new people.
We've talked a little everytime she visited, but I was always too shy to say anything other than a few meger words. I never really got to know her as a person.
She assures me she's the most kind and gentle person she's ever known, I would never doubt my sisters word but it still doesn't put me at ease. Social interaction has never been easy for me, no matter how nice or kind the person I'm talking to is.
My sister has been my number one supporter, and I hers. She's never outed my condition to anyone and assured me she'd never tell Jenna if I didn't want her to know, she's always got my back no matter what and I'm beyond thankful for that.
-
My driver that was assigned to me dropped me off at the sets parking area, not far from the cast's trailers.
"We've arrived sir, Mr Burton will be waiting by the trailers for you." Sir? Gosh that makes me feel so imperial, like an important executive or something, I dunno.
"I er-thank you" I say nervously, my socially awkward nature getting the better of me. I got out of the black SUV and walked to the trailer.
I felt like an outsider here, like I didn't belong so kept my hands in my sleeves and my head down.
There's camera crews here, some extras to fill the background, I even see some of them in cast, but decided not to interact with them. They didn't know me and would probably think I'm some random weirdo who shouldn't be here.
I know that sounds a bit dramatic, but people have been cruel to me in the past just for trying to talk to them. That's always been my main deterrent from social interaction; the fear of what people will think of me.
These negative thoughts were starting to send me spiralling so I blocked them out for now, making my way to the trailers. I can't wait to see Emma.
I'm at the trailer area and see a man with unkempt hair and tinted glasses leaning against a trailer door, is that... TIM BURTON?! I knew I was gonna meet him but it's kinda unreal when you meet an icon such as him in person.
A smile formed on his face and he made his way towards me, my eyes avert his figure as my nerves began to set in. "Hello Y/N, it's good to finally meet you, your sister holds you in such high esteem." He says offering me a hand to shake.
Emma's been talking about me? To Tim Burton? Good things I hope. "I-I It's nice to meet you to Mr Burton, it's an honor to be here." I say nervously, shaking his hand and meeting his gaze with a nervous smile.
He chuckles "Please just Tim, no need for formalities. You're among friends here, Y/N."
I didn't understand, what did he mean I was among friends? He's just met me and he's nicer than most people have been to me throughout my entire life.
Though puzzling this maybe, I couldn't help but smile at being accepted for once among a group. It felt liberating.
"C'mon let's go meet the cast, I know two that have been dying to meet you." Two? I know Emma is one, but two? Who could possibly want to see me.
I followed to a trailer not far from where we met. I see a coat hanging from the railing of the trailer's steps, that's Emma's coat.
Tim gives me a warm smile and says "She's waiting for you kiddo, she'll be very happy to see you again." I nod and smiled back. I reach for the door know and open the door to the trailer, I see a girl with blonde hair and coloured highlights, is that...
"Emma?" She turns to face me. A smile forms on her face, an smile I would recognise anywhere.
"Y/N/N!!!!" She rushes towards me and tackles me to the ground in a hug, making yelp in the process. Usually this sort of surprising affection would make me nervous, but it was my sister so I all it. Besides I missed her dearly.
I reciprocated the hug, though it was difficult seeing as I was on the ground. "Hi sis', you missed me that much?" I ask playfully while standing back to my feet.
"Like you wouldn't believe, I miss all of you. How have you been?" She asks me, she knows about my struggles and I'm glad she still cares.
"Umm... things have been okay. Socialising is still really difficult, I almost didn't come here because of the distance. You know how much I hate being away from home" she gives a smile of sympathy and rubs my shoulder to comfort.
"But you still did it and I'm so proud of you for taking that step. You're still with family here in Romania, Jenna is excited to see you too, she's so lovely Y/N, you should get to know her" talk to Jenna Ortega? My stomach turns from nervousness.
The door to the trailer suddenly opens, a small Latin girl appears sporting black pigtails and black blazer. Jenna Ortega.
It's not surprising that she's here, she's playing the main character of the show after all. However, it's still messing with my mind that I'm standing in front of MY crush. I didn't know if I was just lucky, or if the universe just wanted me to humiliate myself in front of my crush.
I was quickly pulled out of my thoughts when she turned to me after she stopped talking to Emma. My twin did me a solid and introduced her to me so I didn't have to talk, she knows I don't have great speaking abilities when I meet new people.
She started her introduction "Jenna, you remember Y/N right? My other half." She says which makes Jenna laugh.
"Hi Y/N, it's so nice to see you again. Emma talks about you all the time" Of course she does. I shyly wave at her, averting eye contact away from her, my nerves completely taking over.
She stepped closer to me "Hey, are you okay?" She says sweetly, Emma's right she is really nice. I nod my head to reassure that I'm okay, even though I'm most definitely not and Emma knew this.
The trailer door opened again revealing a tall, dirty blonde guy with long hair. I had never seen him before, he didn't look very nice.
"Hey Jenna, Emma" he says happily, then his eyes fall to me. "Who's this?" He says, his voiced indicating his clear annoyance by my presence.
"Hey percy, this is my twin brother, Y/N" I shyly wave at him, he scoffs and moves swiftly to talk to Jenna. What a dick.
Emma's phone rings "Ah shit, guys I have a scene to do. Please look after him and get to know each other, love you Y/N" she says kissing me on the cheek. Great, now I'm left with two people I don't know, one being my crush, the other, a massive dickhead. Great.
I sit down on the couch behind me, Jenna taking a seat next to me much to percy's dismay. I start playing with my hands, something I do when I'm very nervous. Jenna picked up on this so she decided to ask me a question to ease the tension.
"So Y/N, do you have any interests or hobbies?" She's says to me with a smile, that same sweet tone still consistent.
I started "I-I like movies, I'm a massive horror fan. I build legos, play video games as a hobbie, and do programming as a side job. I find the arithmetic nature of programming to be quite fascinating, keeps my brain constantly at work." I say quietly.
She started to speak again "Programming? Wow you must be quite intelligent to do that" I shrug, my lack of confidence really shining through.
Percy scoffs "Jeez do you just sit there looking depressed all the time." I gave him a pleading look, I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable.
"N-no I didn't mean t-to--" I cut myself off, not wanting to embarrass myself anymore than I just did. I don't even know what I did wrong, just goes to show my complete lack of social awareness.
But something unexpected happened "Percy, why are you being such an asshole. He's just shy and that's fine. He didn't do anything wrong." She actually came to my aid and defended me.
"I heard he was autistic, Jenna. I overheard Emma talking to him on the phone one time. He's a freak." The moment I heard the word freak my eyes started to tear up, sniffles followed afterwards.
I started to hastily rock myself as a grounding technique, a shaky breath came from my mouth trying to contain the tears within.
Jenna was standing there with a her phone out recording the whole thing, I thought she was doing this to laugh at with percy later, however what happened next changed that theory.
Jenna slapped the smirk off his face, he was on the ground and fear replaced his shit-eating grin. I could see the fear flashing in his eyes as Jenna loomed over him, a fiery anger in her brown orbs.
She raised her right hand and pointed at him while speaking "Don't you ever say that again you abelist dick. Even if he is autistic, I would never think that as a bad thing. Get out Percy, once I show this recording to Tim, you are done" she says calmly, yet angrily simultaneously.
He didn't need to be told twice as he stumbled out the door; fear still emanated from his person after the bitch slap he received.
Jenna POV
What an asshole, like seriously how the fuck could anyone be so shallow to immediately hate someone because they're different. Fuck that guy honestly, the moment we're done filming I'm cutting contact with him completely.
Y/N looked destroyed, I'd seen him a handful of times and this is the longest interaction we've had, but it was heartbreaking nonetheless. I wanted to comfort him since Emma was busy filming. I sat down next to him and started to talk.
"Y/N it's okay now, he's gone and if he knows what good for him, he won't come back." He nodded, seemingly no change was made to his demeanour. I decided a more physical approach was necessary.
"Y/N can I touch you?" He hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded. I touched his shoulder, my thumb rubbing in circles. "Are you autistic, Y/N? It's okay you can tell me, I know you don't know me but I promise I would never judge you, never ever."
I hope he knows my words are genuine, perhaps even comforting. He gives me with one more glance before signing under his breath then nodding, confirming what percy had told me. He shouldn't have outed Y/N like that, it's his right to tell me when or if he even wanted to in the first place.
"You're so brave, you know that?" He looked at me confused. I continued speaking "You're braver than you know sweetheart, I'm so sorry that we had to meet again under these circumstances but I want you to know that I'm so proud of you. I can only imagine how hard it must've been to come here so far away from home, only to be ridiculed by some asshole who doesn't know his head from his own ass." He laughs, making me smile knowing I'm doing something right.
I make a solemn vow to him "I swear to you, that recording I took will be shown to Tim and the producers, he will be dealt with accordingly. I promise you." Percy will not go unpunished for this.
"We've only met a couple times, but you're bravest and sweetest person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I can tell that everything you're sister told me about you is true." I wipe his tears from his face with my thumb, his eyes still glassy and red from the crying.
"Why are you so nice to me? You don't even know me." He says barely above a whisper.
"Because unlike Percy, I accept you for who you are and I'll help you whenever you need me. I'm with you now Y/N and I'm not going anywhere." His lips begin to quiver, indicating that he's about to cry again.
"Would you like a hug?" I ask, unsure if that amount of physical touch is something he would want. He nods and I open my arms for him "c'mere honey" he fell into my arms, head on my shoulder as his tears shower my Wednesday outfit, but I couldn't care less.
His arms wrapped tight around me, my arms securely around him. I began to rock him gently to comfort him, my hand carding through his hair. "Shhhh, you're safe now honey, it's just me and you, nobody else. I'm so sorry for what happened but I promise you that everything's gonna be okay, I'm not leaving you."
I feel something for this boy, and I know he feels something for me, Emma may or may not have told me about the crush he has on me. I didn't make him feel embarrassed, now's not the time.
"I-I shouldn't have come h-here, e-everyone hates me!" My heart broke hearing those words. Percy had destroyed his self-esteem with his heartless words, his confidence had vanished into the aether.
I held him tighter against me, wanted him to feel all the affection I can give to counter his negative thoughts. "Nobody hates you Y/N, I certainly don't and neither do your sisters and parents". Percy's words were awful and further projects his insecurities."
"He's right though, I'm am a freak. Emma's normal, my other sisters are normal, my parents too. I can't socialise properly, can't read social cues, I'm only good at messing things up! I'm useless!" He was shaking violently, a barrage of new tears came streaming down his cheeks, Percy was going to pay for what he's done.
I lift his face from my shoulder, holding his cheeks in both my hands. "You are not useless! You're anything but useless! You're incredible Y/N, just like your sister and I've got your back just like I've got hers. Percy is done after today, mark my words."
He smiles at my words, convinced by them even. "You wanna know something?" He looks at me with intrigue. "I've admired you since the day we met, you're so beautiful, sweet and kind. You're not useless at all, you're perfect, just the way you are."
"Everytime your sister talks about you I listen to her in awe of you, you're an amazing person sweetheart, don't ever let someone make you think otherwise." I say with sincerity.
He looked shocked. "You're just saying that." He says not believing me.
"Can I prove it?" I ask a little nervously. He nods and I ask him another question. "Can I kiss you?" A bold move by me but he needed to know just how serious I am.
His cheeks turn a bright pink, very much akin to a rose. He nods and I lean in the kiss his lips softly, a gentle kiss to show him my intention are indeed pure. "I like you alot Y/N, and I'd love to be a part of your life from now on, If you'll have me."
He smiled, genuine and real "I like you too, Jenna. I'd love to have you in my life." I take him back in my arms, in the position we were previously in, rocking him gently in my arms. His eyes began to droop a little, he looked exhausted from all the crying.
"You can fall asleep if you want, just relax darling, everything's gonna be okay now." We sat on the couch, his head on my chest, my arms locked around his figure. "There there, you're okay darling" I cooed softly.
His eyes shut, nothing was heard expect the soft breaths coming from his nose. I kissed his temple and let him sleep until Emma returned from filming, she need to know the truth.
- 2 hours later
I've been catching up on breaking bad while Y/N has been sleeping peacefully on my chest, really good show this is. My hand has been absentmindedly carding through his hair.
God he looks so adorable, I never want to let go of him. I'm honored that he trusts me enough to be apart of his life, to be his girlfriend, an honor I certainly don't take for granted.
The door to the trailer opens, Emma walking through the entrance. She was shocked to see the position me and Y/N laid in, though this was expected as she didn't know what had transpired a couple hours ago.
"We need to talk" I say, she looked at confused but nodded. I began to get up as gently as possible to not wake up Y/N, though it was more tricky than anticipated. He groaned sleepily, not completely aware of his surroundings.
I put him at ease, "it's okay honey, I'll be back don't worry" his body eased at the words and untensed around me, allowing me to lift his head off my chest without waking him. Emma and I walked out of the trailer and gently shut the door behind us, it was time she learned the truth.
"What happened in there?" She asked with concern.
"Watch this video" I show her the recording on my phone, the horror she felt was palpable, her own brother being reduced to tears; by her own co-star no less. "I'm so sorry, Emma" was all I could say.
She turned to me and embraces me in a hug which I returned immediately. "Thank you for helping him, he won't ever forget what you did for him" her voice wobbly, she was crying. "I should've been there to stop him! He's gonna pay for this!" She storms off, presumably to find percy.
I chase after her, jesus she's fast "Emma wait!" I called out but she didn't falter in her movements, she was on a mission to find the asshole who hurt her brother.
After about 5 minutes of searching we found Percy talking with Tim as if he did nothing 2 hours prior, we stormed towards him. Percy's noticed us walking towards him, fear replaced his expression, Tim however was more confused by our angered demeanour.
"YOU ASSHOLE! HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT TO HIM, HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO YOU!" Emma exclaimed, tears falling fast down her face. "HE'S THE SWEETEST PERSON IN THE WORLD AND YOU DESTROYED HIM! WHAT FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU! She sobs out, I rubbed her back in comfort.
Tim looked even more confused now "What's going on, Percy what is she talking about?" He says raising an eyebrow, demanding to know what happened.
I answer for him, leaving no chance for Percy to alter the truth in any way. "Watch this video, Tim." He watched the video of what went, disgust was etched onto his face, all the while I was staring down the asshole who caused this mess. The look on his face is priceless, as though his career had flashed before his eyes.
Tim finished the video and turned to percy, inhaling before he spoke. "Percy once you're scenes are finished, you're done, fired. You have no future here." He says coldly, disappointment lacing his rough tone. "You will be paid for your work, but we will cease all contact after that."
Percy was distraught, he begged and pleaded for Tim to reconsider "Please Tim, I'm sorry I really am! It's was just a joke!" Emma was disgusted with him, so was I.
Emma was face to face with percy, she may have been shorter, but her anger made her far more imposing. "I'm not a violent person percy, but if you EVER say or even look at my brother in a way I find offensive ever again, you will be dealing with a far different side of me." He gulped and nodded, knowing better than to test her.
She continued "For your sake, I will not leak those videos, but so help me god I will not hesitate to ruin your life if you step out of line again." And with that she walks off to see her brother.
I walk up to Percy and warn him one final time "Be thankful you're only losing a Job opportunity Percy. Make no mistake, if you make any attempt to contact me, Emma, or dear Y/N, I will leak those videos to everyone and destroy your life within seconds. Do you understand me?" He nodded and I walk away with the knowledge that Percy Hynes White is a coward.
I return to the trailer to find Emma and Y/N talking about what went down with him and Percy "No matter what Y/N, I'll always protect you from people like him, and so will Jenna" he looks over to me and I offer a gentle, reassuring smile and sit down next to him. I kiss his cheek and pulled his head onto my chest and pressed play on the TV.
"So what did I miss with you two?" Emma asks playfully and we both laughed uncontrollably, forgetting the last few hours for a while with laughter and love.
- 9 months later
Wednesday was a massive hit with critics and viewers, my career has skyrocketed to heights I never thought imaginable. Though, I never let that inflate my ego and become someone who I depised, you know who I'm referring to.
Percy was promptly fired after he finished all of his scenes, nor was he allowed to attend any of the press events to promote the show. He hasn't tried to contact me or any of my friends, the first smart decision he's made.
Y/N and I are still going strong, though I wouldn't have doubted that for a second. Like I said to him all those months ago, he's perfect just the way he is.
Socialising is still a struggle for him, so is communicating with me sometimes. However, I vowed to help him and understand his condition, to guide him in a world that misunderstood him.
He's laying on my chest, me stroking his hair. He's asleep after coming with me to a press junket to promote the show. Even if he's behind the cameras, his support is so appreciated.
Emma has been so supportive of our relationship, which is great because I would've hated things to be awkward between, and potentially ruin Y/N's relationship with her.
Fans of mine have began to notice Y/N after his appearance at the premiere, the Internet practically exploded when they saw us hand in hand. Y/N isn't fond of the attention but loves the nice comments people have left, any boost to his self esteem he cherishes.
Suddenly the phone rang, it was Tim Burton, probably discussing plans for season 2. I picked up the phone, being careful not to wake Y/N.
"Hello Jenna, is Y/N with you?" He says. What could he want with Y/N?
"Yeah I'll get him" I gently shake him to wake him up. He groaned as I shook "Babe wake up someone's on the phone for you" he rose from my chest and groggily took the phone from my hand.
"Hello, Y/N speaking" he says lowly.
He talks with tim, his groggy expression is replaced with shock, a stark contrast from earlier.
"Yes ill talk with her about it" talk with me about what? What is Tim planning?
"Thank you I'll see you soon" he hung up and turned to me, a smile etched onto his face like he just won the lottery.
"What?" I say laughing
He opened his mouth, only to stutter when trying to form words. He eventually got his words out "He wants me to replace Percy as Xavier" I scream out of excitement and he quickly covered his ears.
"You're gonna do great, I'll be right there with you" his smile is replaced with worry.
"What if they don't like me as Xavier? What if my acting is bad? I have no acting experience, Jenna. What am I gonna do?" He starts to ramble a bit so I kissed him, calming his nerves within an instant.
He drew back for air and reassured him "You're gonna be great babe, way better than Percy, I guarantee that." I pulled him back to a kiss.
The kiss turned more passionate, only pulling back for pockets of air. "You're so beautiful baby, my beautiful boy" he blushes intensly at my praise. "I love you Y/N, so so much" I say breathlessly. He picks me up while kissing me, leading me to the bedroom. I would love to describe how the rest of our day was spent...
But some things are best kept secret... if you know what I mean. ; )

Why Explicit Caryl Canon Matters
Daryl and Carol (Caryl) fans make up a large portion of the spinoff's audience, and this audience wholeheartedly believes that Daryl and Carol are each other's only choice. It's in the writing. It's also reinforced by cast, crew, and EPs. For example, Norman has repeatedly said “If Daryl falls in love, it's forever."
There's a misconception that Carylers are a bunch of hysterical saps – fans who only want their ship "fucking under the stars" and only care about Daryl because of Carol, but that’s not true. In reality, Caryl fans are the deepest, most intuitive thinkers in the TWD community. To them, story matters. While they recognize and adore all of the subtext, they understand that it's supposed to lead to something worth the 13-year wait. They're expecting that major sense of relief and joy from watching explicit, undeniable, canon.
Explicit canon respects Carol's and Daryl's character development – individually and together. They started out way behind everybody else in life, convinced they weren't worthy of love. Daryl thought he was better off alone and Carol thought she was just a burden, but then they showed each other their true potential. Carol told Daryl he was a "man of honor" and Daryl taught Carol to have hope for a better future. They've struggled and suffered and strived to be good enough for each other. So, where's the payoff?
I understand not all fans want the same things, and maybe there's pressure to “keep everyone happy." Maybe it feels like a lose-lose situation. But from a marketing perspective, Caryl fans are a very reliable source of revenue for the show, so keeping them happy secures a reliable audience for future seasons of the show. They'll show up with their wallets out and their enthusiasm turned all the way up for Norman's and Melissa's nuanced performances. They'll create more fanart and other content. They'll make the show trend on Twitter constantly. Fans already adore Norman and Melissa, but explicit canon will amplify it further whereas keeping things ambiguous will cause a significant decline in viewership.
Ambiguity is the reason that the "I love you" scene in the flagship's finale got mixed reactions. For the fans who also struggle with their self-image, it was important to see Daryl and Carol overcome their own insecurities and finally "take whatever happiness they could get." But instead, many saw Carol's lighthearted "I love you too" and Daryl's departure as if they were both forfeiting what they always wanted. Daryl was submitting to his solitary nature again while Carol assumed she still owed a debt to her community and Daryl would be happier without her anyway. Both of them deserved a happy ending, or at least a piece of happiness to launch them into the next part of their journey. As far as many fans were concerned, neither of them got that.
That's why a lot of fans had a hard time watching S1 of the spinoff or opted out of watching all together. There were so many moments that teased the "possibility" of Daryl getting together with a younger, blonder woman nun while hints of Caryl's relationship were buried under more subtext. Keeping Daryl's feelings ambiguous just for the "fun" of shipbaiting cheapens Caryl's one-of-a-kind relationship, falsely indicating that their iconic beats can be recycled with someone else and still evoke the same passionate response from fans.
Ambiguity also perpetuates ageism and gives non-Caryl fans the excuse to say hurtful things to or about Melissa. Whether or not she's online to see it makes no difference because it still degrades her and it damages other women's perceptions of beauty and worth. Explicit canon on the other hand raises both Melissa and Norman up as two powerhouse actors utilizing their unparalleled chemistry to celebrate mature romances. It brings Daryl’s defining character traits to the forefront – the nurturing traits and the epic ones. It positions Daryl and Carol as equals, and it helps drown out the harmful comments against Melissa.
Hopes for season 2 of the spinoff are high. Confirmation of Carol's and Daryl's romantic relationship in a way that needs no interpretation and no explanation from anyone offscreen is a dealbreaker. I know in terms of explicit canon, post-production can make all the difference, so it's crucial someone in a position of power pushes for canon that fully and unapologetically lives up to the fans' expectations, does right by the characters, and respects what Melissa wants.

Honestly I think jwcc is gonna be roman empire forever, more specifically S4 and 5, because of how much the writers ruined all of their characters arcs and growths.
I think S1-3 were just perfect. Ok maybe they weren't actually perfect, but for they were setting out to do it was superb. The writers were establishing dynamics and relationships and conflicts, external and internal, so well. It's almost hard to believe that such a grounded brilliant story fell apart in the last two seasons. I generally cannot fathom how they were the same writers. For example, in S3 Ben and Darius have this long arc about forgiving each other and coming to understand each other after the monorail. It was beautiful and slow paced and just a great character study. So when the end of S3 happened, and Darius and Kenji were clearly fighting, I figured they would kinda do the same thing for them. Instead the two forgave each other in less then five minutes and then they just never speak on it again. I can't be only one that just finds that so odd?
Another thing I think really ruined the show was the forced romance between Brooklynn and Kenji. It was out of left field, it didn't make sense, and it completely undermined their characters. To me, the show always presented their bond as brother and sister, but honestly if the writers had done it better maybe (MAYBE) I could've gotten behind it. They just made it so hard to route for them. First of all because of the romance, the two of them weren't really allowed to interact with the others. Like yes they did, but not in meaningful ways like they had before. Also something that irks me to no end is them playing off Kenji so vigorously trying to save Brooklynn at the end of S3 only because he had a crush on her. That's such a misinterpretation of his character, because S3 Kenji would've acted like that if ANY of the crew were in that situation. They became the only family he ever had, and to say that all of that was just because of a crush? Oh don't get be started. Also it just made Brooklynn a shell of the character she once was. I was so upset in S5 when the only thing she got to do was mope about Kenji's betrayal. She deserved more development and screen time, and just everything really. Their romance did a huge disservice to them both.
Third point, I really hate how they played off everyone not having PTSD, especially Darius. I was very happy that Yaz had that arc in S5 and how they showed how it really got to her. But when the rest of the group said everyone was fine, especially Darius? The same Darius that felt endlessly burdened with leading? The same Darius that had nightmares about his father and Ben after he lost them? The same Darius that let everything get to him even when he knew it shouldn't? THE SAME CHARACTER THAT WAS ALONE ALL OF S4 AND THE WRITERS DID NOTHING WITH??? Ohhhh one day these writers will pay for the way they sidelined THEIR MAIN CHARACTER. Darius deserved that arc, and he deserved an arc that allowed him to step out of the leadership role. Like yes that was technically S4, but it was handled in such a bad way and it really didn't present any growth for him or the crew. Just a wasted opportunity.
I think at their core, the problems with S4 and S5 lie with the direction the writers wanted to take it. As soon as the group ended up at this highly technological island I knew it was over. Not to say advanced stuff is bad, the hybrids were always sick, and I even thought the mind controlling was a good moral dilemma, but everything else? It was so tiring and frustrating, like damn I don't care about the brads or this island, or these random ass characters you introduced. I think the writers just really lost sight of what made the show so great in the first place, the main characters. Yes the plot was amazing, but the brilliant cast of characters and their ever changing dynamics and lives was what really brought it home. When you erase all of the development you've been building up for three seasons in favor of a incredulously complicated and over done plot that side lined your main cast what can you expect? It seems voltron was in fact a harbinger for this show. One day dreamworks will learn how to not fall off mid show, but it appears that's not any time soon.

I don't know, maybe it's just me but Taika's fans (not just Ed's fans) seems like practically left OFMD fandom. The fandom only supports Darby out of all the actors. Any appearance of him on the red carpet and people go crazy. Any poll - again he gets the biggest support. Taika's not noticed or deliberately ignored. No one cares about his new projects or appearances on the red carpet in this fandom. Almost no one in the fandom even congratulated him on his birthday... He appears in the thread for their discussion only when they want to judge him (for the cancellation of the third season for example). Taika Waititi in this fandom exists ONLY in connection with Darby. He OUGHT to make We Are Wolves because their beloved Rhys needs it. TBH I can't even look at their joint photos anymore because of it. Again Taika appears on my TL only when Rhys is around. I won't even mention Con! Rhys is the only one who needs support in this fandom, who is pitied and loved. Taika apparently doesn't deserve it because he always wears the mask of a confident guy. In any case, I hope Taika just continues to quietly pursue new projects. Yes, Ed will probably remain his brightest and best role and we are unlikely to see him in leading roles (only small cameos) in the near future but we need to move on. Although of course he gets hate here much less than in Marvel fandom. Some ppl here even love him. Thanks for that, I suppose.
…i hope assume this is bait but regardless, yes, i think it is just you, anon. i don’t think any of what you’re saying is fair or accurate, and it’s actually pretty rude and disrespectful.
i can tell this is prompted by the photos from the red carpet of his new film today, but claiming rhys is the only cast member to get (and need) any support from the fandom is a massive exaggeration and blatantly untrue. one of the best things about this fandom is that everyone supports the cast & crew’s other projects, from samba’s new film to nathan’s play to rachel’s directorial debut (and they all support each other, as well).
going off that, this is the first time rhys has ever played the lead role in a tv series, and that was mostly because of taika. no one is demanding for we’re wolves to be made because rhys “needs it,” they’re hoping for a sequel they’ve been anticipating for years to finally be made (and yes, rhys getting another leading role will be nice). rhys deserves love and praise just as much as taika does. they’re our co-leads. and i hate to break it to you but they’re best friends + collaborators going on 30 (?) years now, so he’s not going anywhere from taika’s life or work any time soon.
frankly, the real reason most fans don’t explicitly talk about taika as much anymore is because they’re afraid of literally being harassed. it has nothing to do with not caring about him, but it gets exhausting when you can’t even write his name in a post without people sending you awful false accusations and graphic death threats towards him. but many people initially took interest in ofmd because they love taika’s work and heard of his involvement (i’m one of them). and many of us still vocally love and stick up for him.
i feel like this is an issue of needing to curate your tl better, honestly. find and engage with the people who post what you want to see, block and mute those who post what you don’t. and if it bothers you that other people talk so much about the leading man of their favourite show, i don’t really know how to help you with that.

A Very Very Muppet Christmas Movie Deserves All the Hate it Gets, and Maybe More Actually
Okay so someone said I can talk about this so I'm going to talk about it. Spoilers I guess? For a shitty Muppets movie?
This got long. Fuck.
I have seen, at this point, every Muppets movie aside from Muppets Oz. I couldn't really rate them in order of best to worst like other online sites do. I like The Muppets. Even the movies that didn't touch my heart like Muppets Treasure Island I still found fun and enjoyable. My favorite will always be the original movie from 1979, but I found all of them to be comforting and enjoyable.
Until this one. This one is bad. A Very Very Muppets Christmas Movie was so immediately bad on every level. It is the first movie I've seen in some time that actually made me angry.
A little context for those who haven't seen the movies. Muppets movies fall into two categories that I'll call Muppets Lore and Muppets Theatre. In Muppets Theatre you get a loose retelling of some classic story where the cast is primarily Weird Felt Perverts - think Christmas Carol, Treasure Island, Wizard of Oz. The Great Muppets Caper isn't technically based on source material but I'd put it in this category since they're playing characters.
On the other hand, the Muppets Lore movies focus on the origins/misadventures of the Muppets as an ensemble. Think the original movie, as well as Muppets Take Manhattan, Muppets in Space, and the two reboot films.
Muppets Haunted Mansion is technically both a Muppets Lore and Muppets Theatre film. It's also. I wouldn't say bad, but it - it's weird to talk about. It does canonize that Gonzo's worst fear is dying alone - which, like, yeah. That tracks.
Anyways, A Very Muppet Christmas (I refuse to keep using the full title), though it does heavily draw from It's a Wonderful Life (but badly), is primarily a Muppets Lore movie. The basic plot is that the Muppets, who by now are well-known for producing shows out of their own Muppet Theater, lose their venue. This devastates Kermit, driving him to believe that the lives of his friends would be better if he was never born. He gets to see this alternate reality, realizes it's apparently way worse, and begs to go back. He does, the theater is saved through randomly being declared a historical site, and everyone's happy forever.
I don't know where to start with this. Let me break it up.
They Had The Same Message For a Like 30 Years At This Point How Did You Fuck it Up This Badly
So a majority of the Muppets Lore movie focuses on the central theme of chasing your dreams. The main cast are all performers (barring Scooter, who seems to be the entirety of their tech crew. Kermit also directs and writes. I think Doctor Honeydew is a war criminal but no one talks about that.) with aspirations of making a living doing what they love. They make mentions of fame but are pretty loose with what that means. Miss Piggy is the only cast member who explicitly wants mass amounts of stardom.
The rest appear content with being career artists. Rowlf is chill wherever there's a piano. The Electric Mayhem prefer their jam rock but seem fine playing any gig with an audience and also probably a plug for hard drugs. In a lot of Gonzo origin appearances he's actually working a separate day job and just shoots himself out of cannon as a hobby. The major draw in the original depiction of their dreams (for me at least) is that it really does paint them all as people who would be doing their art anyway regardless of whether or not they Hit it Big. They push for fame, they try again and again to find an audience that appreciates them even when most of them don't, and it works out in the end. They get rewarded for the effort their dreams push them commit to - what Real Life, Non-Muppet Artist wouldn't at least acknowledge how that's cool to see?
I think this is why a Lore Muppet movie doesn't really work when it depicts The Muppets already being successful. The reboot worked for me because it took place when they were all major celebrity figures past their prime and mostly forgotten (except for Rowlf who I think was on so much Oxy that he didn't realize they were famous). When the movie focuses on their career the fame is a better goal than a starting point.
It really does make A Muppet Christmas fall apart immediately. They run the risk of losing their theater if they don't make the money to pay rent? They're famous. They're on talk shows. There's a statue dedicated to the joy Kermit brings to the world. I do not accept this to be a universe where they can't get another venue immediately. I wouldn't be able to accept this as a universe where they're both successful performers who sell out every show and also almost broke, if not for the fact that I can think of like four Muppets off the top of my head who probably generate a new court case against them every year. Legal fees.
They had one scene where Kermit calls a bunch of mid 2000s celebrities and none of them want to guest for the Christmas show. That works in the reboot where Kermit does the same thing only to find that most of his old contacts are either retired or dead. In this one? It's nonsense.
No, Really, You Fucked it So Bad
In every Muppet movie that focuses on following your dreams, that message is paired with maddening levels of determination. The Muppets, mainly Kermit, do not give up. All his friends ditch him while he's trying to get their musical produced on stage? He's gonna work a minimum wage job and keep looking for producers so he can get that venue and perform with his friends. His career is kind of over but he runs the risk of losing the studio that served as a landmark for the legacy he made with the people he loves? Fuck it, cross-country road trip to get the band back together.
He's trying to make a name for himself but there's a entrepreneur who runs a frog legs restaurant and, after being unable to hire him as a spokesperson, sends a paid assassin to kill him? That's less important than making the Big Audition in Hollywood!
So when being faced with losing the Muppet Theater in A Muppet Christmas, Kermit stays true to his character by giving up immediately and abandoning his friends to die alone in the snow.
Like I get it, you're doing the It's A Wonderful Life thing but you can't make Kermit do an explicit suicide attempt. But the film establishes he is fully frozen and unresponsive when his Religiously Unspecified Celestial Guardian finds him, and that is WAY more disturbing than having him jump off a bridge in my mind. It's just so bleak holy fuck. And this happens immediately. First fifteen minutes of a movie that inexplicably starts in the middle and Kermit slinks off to die.
It's not earned at all. He didn't fuck up to the extent for this to make sense. We find out later that the money was lost because he gave it to Fozzie to give to the bank and Fozzie loses it. Kermit then becomes convinced that he ruined all of his friends lives because of this.
Like it's a common thread to depict Kermit being the lynchpin that moves the ensemble forward. He's the guy with the plan, so it makes sense story wise to take that character and get him to a point where he's out of ideas. Only we never see him really try anything? He makes no attempts that fail before he falls into despair. He sits on the sideline and when things don't go well he's like "I fucked it" and loses his will to live. When people say Kermit is a boring buzz kill this is the Kermit they must be imagining.
All the Characters are Bad Here
The major crux of the film is seeing how the ensemble would live without Kermit, who inexplicably thinks he ruined their lives in a way I still don't understand (Did he take out a bunch of loans in their name? What happened???). The intention is to show that their lives are better for having him in them. This, for some reason, looks like the following:
Gonzo: talented street singer/musician, maybe implied to be homeless?
Fozzie: pickpocket, apparently. Why? Bullshit
The Electric Mayhem: Irish step dancers I guess
Scooter: go go dancer. Living his best life.
Sam the Eagle: nightclub enthusiast. Seems fine.
Statler and Waldorf: I could be wrong but it did really look like they were depicted as a gay couple
Rizzo: I - actual rat? Rat actor? Non-sentient rat? I don't really understand what was happening there.
Miss Piggy: I thought they were going the path of having her give up on acting and become a crazy cat lady (not good but fits the era) but apparently she's a phone psychic who uses a Jamaican accent and wig. I guess Kermit is the only person keeping her from race baiting - which I can believe.
So my issue with this is that it's fully inconsistent to all of their characters. If you wanted to show how their lives would be worse without Kermit, it's very easy to do so using the aspects of their personality depicted in like 40 years of media. I think the issue comes in the fact that the obvious downfalls aren't really fitting for a kids movie, which is probably why Jim Henson didn't go there. But I will right now! Here is my take:
Fozzie: super bigoted comedian. He doesn't realize his audience are racists and he doesn't really get the jokes but he's happy people are finally laughing
Gonzo: drug mule
Miss Piggy: probably got famous but not though acting and she's trying to pretend like that's just as good
Rizzo: pays Gonzo be his drug mule
The Electric Mayhem: long dead. Either OD or murder-suicide. Maybe Animal lived but he's absolutely in prison.
Statler and Waldorf: divorced because they never got to bond over their mutual hatred of live theater
Scooter: still in technical theater but he gets treated like shit and probably has a drinking problem
Sam the Eagle: full-on Nazi. Obviously.
There's a plot there in showing what the muppet ensemble would be like without their director and biggest cheerleader. It's just that the depiction in the movie we got was so far removed from what they were like in the present reality that it didn't - like, without Kermit, Gonzo would've learned how to play the guitar? Huh? The only thing that's keeping Fozzie Bear from doing petty crime is making vaudeville theater? Fucking how? Based on what?
It doesn't work as a Muppets story and it doesn't work as a Wonderful Life reference because there's really not anything real that proves that Kermit is the thing that kept this from happening. Except for Piggy doing phone blackface. I can see him having to have that conversation with her a lot.
Anyways, it sucks. The framing is bad, the guest stars are weird (Joe Rogan and Matthew Lillard?), and the one song for the film is awful. Kermit's emotional arc is nonsense and the film fails to see that the point of the ensemble is that they're better and happier together, not that they're all useless and miserable without their leader.
Brian Henson did an important thing taking over for The Muppets after his dad died. He did a lot for the way the movies he wasn't involved in production wise - he worked on the rig that allowed Muppets to appear to ride bikes. This is his life and his dads legacy and it's clear - at least at one point - he valued continuing it.
But yeah this movie was awful. Near incoherent. It's like fanfic from someone who's only research was doing a Google image search of The Muppets. Christ.

Can they just fucking cancel it already.
Not to be cringe on main but I’ve seen this film before, and I didn’t like the ending. Trying to salvage a show that’s this deeply rotted at its very origin-point, in the middle of production on the final season, by rush-hiring a new director and trying to erase all of the prior director/original author’s fingerprints on the property while desperately acting as though everything is ok will, 99.9% chance, not give Good Omens the ending it deserves. It will give it something rushed, full of plot holes, with poor production value, cut corners abounding, and an abandonment of the original tone and themes. And honestly, even though Neil’s queer interpretation of his & Terry’s story was openly sinister pandering, I truly don’t know how anyone is expecting better from whoever and whatever takes Neil’s place. Just put this poor production out of its misery. I say this a someone who LOVES Good Omens, despite my constant snark at the characters. I want it to get the ending it deserves. A good ending that makes sense with the story that’s been told so far, full of queerness and hope and love and light.
The thing is. I have serious doubts that we’d see more than a cheap, stiff imitation of that with the current situation.
It’s okay to let something die
But also, we don’t want to, which brings me to my second point
THIS FANDOM IS *AMAZING*.
We are a massive community of artists, cosplayers, musicians, writers, even amateur filmmakers, and even if we don’t always respond well to stuff, overall the GO fans I’ve seen give immeasurably more shits about the value of human life, doing what’s right and standing up to shitheads in power than anyone on GO’s main cast and crew, and ESPECIALLY more than Neil. And also, we’re actually gay. And we love this story.
And we can do it better than they can.
The sheer amount of creative effort and pure love I’ve seen here is overwhelming. We have everything we need, I don’t know why everyone acts like we need some “official” s3. I may not be a writer or a filmmaker or any of that but everything I’ve seen from y’all gives me unmatched faith that if this fandom wanted to, we could make season 3 ourselves and it would be better, and more full of love, than anything Neil OR Whoever Comes Next could put out.
And not to randomly jump topics but, a fandom-led s3 could raise funds or awareness for RAINN. Or for Gaza. Or for anything. Again I’ve seen this fandom, and fandom in general, do so many great things. Why are we despairing or pinning our hopes on unknown big-corporation filming decisions.
We need to stop expecting happy endings and make them instead. That’s what we already do in fic, because we know that those with enough power to make stories like this will never be who we hope they are. We’re so capable of this.
I just worry that unless it’s outright cancelled, people will continue to cling onto whatever mangled version goes forward instead of realizing that the ability to give this story and these characters a happy ending is right here.
#good omens#Gomens#frustrated#to be clear I don’t know how to write or film SHIT#but this fandom never ceases to impress me#good omens s3#gos3#seriously I’ve seen 0 calls to Just Make S3 Ourselves#and that baffles me

S2:1 and 2 make the most sense to me if Ed is terrified of mutiny.
He came back in s1 to find the crew just hoisting Izzy over the rail. He knows they turned on Izzy. He expects them to want to kill Izzy in s2 ep1, after he shoots him. When he realizes they haven't, that's when his downward spiral really begins. Because now he expects them to turn on him instead.
Because Izzy had been saying for years that Ed couldn’t handle a crew. He said he was the one who managed them whenever they wanted to mutiny; he was the one who wrangled their loyalty. He said Ed never won it. He might have even believed it. (Never mind that we don’t see Izzy wrangle them, we see Izzy tell Fang and Ivan that Ed's nuts. Ed doesn't know that.) Izzy insists they don't love Ed. And after Ed says he’ll give up piracy Izzy says that he doesn't want Ed either; that he only serves Blackbeard.
And after Ed heard Izzy, who's always told Ed he can't trust himself, he's too erratic, too distractible, he'd lose a crew the minute he lost Izzy -- after Ed heard Izzy tell him to watch his step, he is desperate to keep Izzy controlled, so Izzy can keep the crew controlled. He listened to them chant his name in 1:9 and looked afraid. The last time Ed had sent Izzy off, he'd returned with the Navy; he can't send him off for threatening him; he has to keep Izzy close. And he can't tell the crew Izzy threatened him; he has to keep him standing between Ed and the crew.
(And Ed has spent his whole life keeping hard, dangerous men off his back. It feels terribly familiar. It feels like this is just how life is.)
So in s2:2, when Izzy tells him the crew isn't happy, that he isn’t happy either, and it's because Ed loves Stede, Ed despairs. Ed thinks, I can't stop loving him. If that's what it would take, I'm never going to be good enough for Izzy. He isn’t keeping the crew happy. I can’t keep him happy. And I can't fire him. Why am I keeping him around? It can’t be worse than it is. They wanted to kill him; I should let them.
But then they won't do it. He asks Frenchie to, and says in near tears that they can just sail on together forever, fighting and looting, and Frenchie doesn't argue. He doesn't say that isn't what they want from Ed. He agrees; and then Frenchie and the rest save Izzy.
What that really means is that Frenchie is too scared of Ed to ask him what went wrong, why he came back without Stede and cast off half the crew and went wild. He doesn’t know Ed doesn’t want to be doing this. And he doesn’t choose Izzy over Ed; he isn’t trying to betray Ed. He’s just too loyal to his crewmates to kill one, even a dick.
But what Ed sees is: they all chose Izzy over me. I have no one’s loyalty. And nothing I do to keep them happy will ever be enough, and now I don't even have him covering my ass.
That's when Ed goes from depressed and drugged but functioning to fully begging someone to kill him; and on a rewatch, I really believe he's been afraid of it all along, waiting for the moment he forgets to watch his step and Izzy makes good his word, or the moment Izzy can't hold the crew off any more and they go after him again.
Ed thinks that's just how life at sea is, and that's how things are for people like him. He thought differently, once, but the only man who ever said he deserved better left him on a dock, so why wait for the others to give him the death they want to? Why not invite them to?
He asks Izzy to kill him, stop putting it off, but Izzy can't follow through on his threat. So Ed pushes the rest to do it. He’s sure they want to (the atmosphere on this ship is fucked!), that without Izzy between him and them he's done for and it might as well be now.
He has no idea they'd have been there for him if he'd asked. He no longer believes they really wanted the soft version of him who'd showed up on deck once upon a time. He thinks that version and every version of him was doomed, because there's something fundamentally wrong with him. He's soft, and people like him don't get to be.
So yeah -- I think if Izzy hadn't made him frightened of mutiny for years, then Ed would not have tried to get the crew to kill him; he wouldn't have been waiting for it. He wasn’t just suicidal because Stede was gone. He had been trained to be afraid, and he was so tired of it. He had been exhausted trying to be captain for so long; he would have willingly surrendered it, the way he tried to -- "Why are we even being pirates?" And he would have seen that he was loved.
But instead he was scared and tired to the bone. So he gives up. And it's not till Stede shows up to protect him that he feels he is safe enough to be soft again, to try and make amends and to do what he wants; and it's not till Izzy tells him at the end that he was holding Ed back and that the others have always loved him that Ed realizes he's never been alone, not on that ship. He didn’t have to be the legend Izzy demanded, or even the softer pirate Stede is. He can decide to be a fisherman, or an innkeeper, or just Ed, and he will be loved. There's always been people there who would want him, whoever he wanted to be, if he could have seen it.
Now he can see it.
#the first time i watched i interpreted the first two eps through the lens of him just thinking blackbeard is the only thing anyone wants#and wanting to die because he doesn't want to be that#but rewatching makes me remember that he wasn't just performing blackbeard because ed was rejected#he was performing blackbeard because he was SCARED#and he didn't trust them#and he got so damn tired of being scared.#it's a small shift but also a foundational one#for me#ofmd#ofmd s2 spoilers#ofmd s2#edward teach

Ok nerds, hear me the fuck out !!
This is my fancast for the JLI, but before we all lose it I need a quick disclaimer: this fancast is what I think the JLI could look like in a live action movie, this isn’t serious and I think if this movies were to exist it would be a comedy movie bc it’s the JLI, they’re not supposed to be taken seriously by anyone!!!!
With that in mind this is my fancast and I’ll walk you through it, let’s go:
Blue Beetle (Ted Kord):
Logan Lerman, off to a great start, i know (lol). Based on Logan’s roles throughout his career I think he would be a great Ted Kord bc he can play a nice, wholesome guy and I think he looks like the character as well. Like Ted, you would wanna put him in a jar and protect him from the world. Also he hasn’t been in many movies recently and I miss him, he deserves better.
Booster Gold (Michael J. Carter):
Lucas Till, just look at him !!! You cannot tell me he doesn’t look exactly like booster, you can’t !!! Besides Lucas has been in many action productions from movies to tv shows BUT he was also the love interest in the Hannah Montana movie THATS RANGE, he can play a the super hero and the goof we all know and love. And again, look at him !!!!
Green lantern (Guy Gardner):
Dacre Montgomery. Ok, Guy is a hard one to cast bc he is the biggest asshole in the world but we also love him bc he’s part of the JLI, we need someone that can play a jerk but can also have a redeeming plot bc again, we love him. And in my opinion dacre is the guy (get it ? Guy ?) I mean, u saw him as Billy in stranger things, he’s a great actor, he is perfect for this role.
Now comes the exciting part, the gurls.
Ice (tora olafsdotter):
Sophie Turner. Do I even have to say anything at this point? Look at her she IS Tora. You’ve seen Sophie in GOT you know she can play the baddest bitch on the planet while playing a sweet girly girl and that’s Tora right there. She can carry this role easily and I think she looks just like Tora she’s also very tall wich is great considering she’s playing a Norwegian woman.
Ok, now we need to have a talk about this next one, HEAR ME OUT.
Fire (Beatriz Bonilla da Costa):
Selena Gomez. I know what you’re gonna say: “she’s not Brazilian”. Yeah I know (I’m Brazilian myself) but let’s be realistic, it’s Hollywood, they don’t care, they don’t even know the difference between Latinos and frankly, so doesn’t the rest of the world. So if we’re gonna have a Latina play Fire it would be great to have one the most loved latinas in the world playing her. I love Selena Gomez, she’s a great actress and she can play a bad bitch and a lovely girl just like Bea. And I even got this photo to help you visualize (you’re welcome btw) and I think she looks amazing, I would add green eye contacts to the mix but I think she would nail it. And also, as a Brazilian myself she has my blessing to play fire U.U
Martian Manhunter (J’onn J’onzz):
Terry Crews, remember when I said that this movie has to be a comedy?? I always thought that Martian Manhunter would be a great comic relief bc of the breach of expectation considering he’s supposed to be a very serious character and to me Terry Crews would be PERFECT for this role, not only he can play a very intimidating character he is also one of the funniest actors out there, also with Martian’s ability to shape shift I would love to see terry play a range of things martian can turn into. I love him.
Max Lord:
Zac Efron, here’s what I’m thinking for this one: Max has to be played by someone that we really love so when it’s reveled that he’s the villain we feel even more betrayed and I think Zac is our guy. Bc everybody loves Zac efron, if you don’t you’re dead on the inside, and Zac had shown us that he can play a villain role, the man played Ted B*ndy for fuck sake’s !! He can carry this role easily.
And last but not least
Batman (Bruce Wayne):
I have no idea, this is the only one I can’t think of, bc although I love BatPat I don’t think Robert is a great fit for this particular fictional project lol, this would be a comedy movie and Robert’s version of the Batman is super serious, besides I wanted the main JLI and Batman and Martian to have a bit of an age gap to show how immature the JLI is compared to household name super heroes like the Batman you know ? So if you have a suggestion let me know bc I can’t think of anyone.
That’s it nerds, this is my fancast for the fictional JLI movie. James Gunn if you’re seeing this give me a call, I have some ideas LOL. Let me know what you think in the comments, bye ✌🏻

Of the new star trek shows which do you recommend I start watching first? I started Picard when it first came out but only the first couple of episodes and i've seen most of the first season of Discovery... and you seem to love SNW, spoiler free opinions?
I love all of the trek shows, so, expect to waste your time reading this and getting absolutely nothing but me yelling about how much I love women, a lot of words and wrong use of commas.
if you want specially one of the newest shows, I suggest starting with discovery and then watch snw. But dsc is kinda fast, the story just starts right away and it's not one story per episode show, like snw, so if you want to start from something to get to know the world, love this universe, then snw is the best choice, but if you have seen some old shows, dsc is fine to start and you will meet snw cast there too and then you will already have an idea who they are, also Pike's story is more understandable if you have seen dsc.
Picard is good, mostly, well, I am not picky lmao, but I would not suggest starting with it if you never saw the next generation. Because, i don't think picard will be easy to understand and love if you never saw tng, and I guess it will be less enjoyable if you do not know the story from the beginning. I would even say last season is specifically for those who love tng and it's all about nostalgia, I enjoyed it, but I am not that sure I would enjoy it as much, if I have not seen tng.
I love Jean Luc, I love all of the tng cast, but I really wish they would use new characters along the way with the old ones, like, use them more and better. Raffi is amazing, I am so happy they at least showed her, because I love her, she is badass, beautiful, gorgeous woman
and I really wish they would actually make a seven/raffi show, because I would die for it. Seven in picard is so much more for me than what she was in voyager, I never felt that much love for her back then, even though I loved her, I just could not connect to her somehow, but when she appears in picard, I am sold out lmao yeah, maybe it's my love for middle aged women speaks right now, but can you blame me lol, have you seen Jeri?? exactly! But I love her as a character right now so much more, and I want her to have the best life ever. and the ship and crew and family and love and i want her to smile more, she deserves it all
Picard is somehow fading away after watching it, like, I can remember what it was about, I remember scenes, but it does not stay with you after, if you ever remember cast of picard you remember tng time, then what was in picard. Well, at least for me that's how it is. I would prefer if they actually used those characters they brought in first season more, then losing them along the way and showing mostly old cast. Like, I love nostalgia stuff but not when it's all about nostalgia, new characters have to be there, new stories have to be told, and there is always a place to tell a story of an old character as well, you just don't have to create entire show just for it, or at least give life to something new also, there were great new characters, but some of them were lost by the end of the show and i don't even know what happened to them, if they ever mentioned it, i guess it was so brief that you hardly notice it. Also, it's not one story per episode show like tos, or tng, so you will have to watch entire season to get the full story.
New characters - I love Disco so much more because of that, it has so many great characters which we never knew before, while it also brings old characters who I love, and they are awesome. and new characters are main heroes
Michael Burnham!
I LOVE HER I LOVE HER SO MUCH she is one of the reasons you will love dsc, like you see all those captains getting all tired by the end of the shows needing 6 months' vacation twice a year? we all love it, so she was not even captain but already needed that much and more lol
She is great, you will hear people yelling she is not, well, you have to punch those people and move on, they are not worth of your time, because Michael Burnham is amazing. She did everything to save the universe, she went through hell and back few times to do it, and yet, she is still a good, caring person, wanting to save everyone, sacrificing herself for everyone, believing in the best of the people she meets, you will admire her. I also love her in 3.01, I am trying to not spoiler here, but that episode is the funniest shit you will see and I want Michael to have a day off, she deserves it.
it also sums up the show pretty well, cos you have crisis on crisis and more crisis going on every second of this show
dsc has so many more great characters, like Saru! I love him, he is awesome, also Stamets, Hugh, Adira, Jett Reno, PHILIPPA!!!!!
there is MICHELLE YEOH MICHELLE YEOH MICHELLE YEOH in this show
just women
the story... well, it's kinda hard to start explaining it without spoilers, so I won't even try, better watch it, but do not expect to go and have fun holodeck episodes and all, we are all serious here and facing the death of everything like all the time, but you will enjoy it if you love this universe.
SNW - well, if you have not seen tos or discovery, it's still a good start tbh. I would say it's the best start to know this universe out of these 3 shows
I am huge tos fan, so when these characters appear in disco i was like OMG NUMBER ONE THIS IS NUMBER ONE AND SHE IS PLAYED BY REBECCA ROMIJN ??? ARE YA KIDDING ME I AM GOING TO *SCREAMING YELLING RUNNING AROUND THE HOUSE* you get the point.
did not believe im getting it for real??? until i saw the first episode of the show lol. but since the moment it was announced I was waiting for snw so much, and I was not disappointed when I got the first season. It had everything I loved about tos and more, it's really good and it's not as other new trek shows, it is that old simple one story per episode show. it has it's 'not the best moments' and 'could be better moments' but overall, i enjoyed it the most from the new shows.
It also has its fun holodeck style episode, with them dressed as other characters. I love that shit honestly
it also shows that star trek universe has it's flaws and it is not all perfect, but they are trying
and snw shows more about the characters who were in tos, but we never get to know them for real, like the main cast. like M'benga, Chapel. but it also brings so many new great characters, like Erica, La'an, even those we do not know well yet, who appear for a short time, such as Pelia <3
Stories are also good. So yeah, go for it.
oh, and male characters are also great
#ask#futilefangirl#probably not what you expected when you sent an ask it's a mess#anyway#star trek#also watch lower decks and then fangirl over 2.07 sakjhajkdh#tbh i am more of a person who watches everything in the order it airs#but because i already have seen every other show lol#im very bad at giving opinions without spoilers so i just yell about women#pike is 100% daddy

“Don’t do a Lexa on me!” “I know what they did to Lexa.” 👀 Sarah, you tell them 👀
youtube
Love how the legacy of The 100 now is Lexa Deserved Better & Bury Your Gays even to people working in the industry. Jason Rothenberg I hope you sleep well at night knowing what you had done. Years have passed now, and I don’t think my hatred and anger are about the fact that she died anymore. I never had an issue with her dying at some point of the story because as much as I’d love for her to live, her decisions were just too bold, drastic and pioneered to people of that apocalyptic world. I could understand why the grounders won’t agree and thus overthrow her from the throne on top of the skaikru’s distrust from the beginning. And I sort of also get the pov of sometimes great people die a insignificant death. My issues were always with Rothenberg and how he queerbaited people into thinking that she was there alive until the end of s3 when there were already fans speculating Lexa’s death. Lexa deserved better, and we deserved better. There were so many ways to wrap up a story of a character or a ship if you really had to, but that was what they chose to go about it (from in front of the camera to behind). He just didn’t care enough to think about the consequences of his action. That was cruel. (He also threw ADC’s other gig as a crappy excuse in the beginning to justify Lexa’s death. It made me despise him even more. At least own up the show/story you put out, so I can at least not think of you as a coward too.)
*Obviously in terms of the actual show contents, I agree that creators should not follow everything the fans/audiences say. They are telling stories they wanted to tell. I’m just saying Rothenberg shouldn’t hype people up with a fake promise. Well, put it bluntly, don’t lie and manipulate people’s emotions for your selfish gains.
After Lexa and the stunt Rothenberg pulled, I can appreciate even more what Simon, Sarah and the entire Warrior Nun cast&crew had done. When making the show, they cared about their characters and they cherished their relationships. And we FEEL it. It also sets a great standard for storytellers that great stories, great characters, and great relationships can exist even with a limited budget, and a limited episode-availability. You just need to decide. Decide to do it with love and respect. 💙 Thank you WN fam. You all are awesome. 💙
Save Warrior Nun. ⚔️

I sort of knew by episode 6 of Only Friends that we would end up with a show that differs from Jojo’s initial vision. The combination of FirstKhao’s very loud ardent fandom, the way BL audiences struggle to digest anything that differs from the corrupted innocent/uwu baby/messy bitch dichotomy, the way fandom has a tendency to gloss over sexual assault or coercion and the fact that the show is characters driven, and lately audiences cannot consume these shows without needing explicit disclaimers from either the writers or the characters- I just knew something would go wrong. I still really enjoy the show but I have been thinking about how the audience affects the narrative. The difference between the way the audience views Ray/Boston/Mew which for once isn’t due to bad acting- Ray and Boston are understandable archetypes in BL so the audience is receptive to them whereas Mew exists in a type of grey area where he is sanctimonious and proud and insecure and discerning which outside of the scope of BL would be interesting but within the BL framework some people found him hypocritical and manipulative. I also think it’s a problem with the writing, some things were never explained, the animosity between Boston and Mew, Top’s relationship with sex, why Nick didn’t reach out to Mew with the sex tape, also the structure of Top and Mew relationship which never really felt fully comfortable so the audience has no reason to root for them. It’s a shame because I could see Jojo’s vision in the beginning but now due to constant cuts and storyline changes the narrative is this bloated, half formed thing held together by great acting and potential. I am also a little bit irritated that this ended up becoming a formulaic BL towards the end (granted the show isn’t finished).
Anyway, I really enjoy reading your comments in this show :)
Unpopular opinion, but I don't like attributing the show to solely Jojo. Unless there's been an interview where Ninew, Den, and Best all say the idea and original pitch for the show was Jojo's and Jojo's alone and they were just brought on as support, otherwise this isn't "Jojo's Vision" it's a collective vision from a large group of people. This all goes back to that phrase "in p'jojo we trust" which I think, frankly and bitchily, is stupid flat b/c no creator always bats 1000 each time. Fans putting creatives on a pedestal like that will only lead to disappointment and in worst cases anger. Which no one on the cast and crew deserve even if I'm finding the writing to be a slut shaming self-righteous mess of a narrative.
I also have to admit, I'm not overly familiar with these formulaic BL tropes that seem to have been popularized by gmmtv shows. All the gmmtv shows I've watched - 1000 Stars, 2gether, (1) episode of theory of love (had to drop that shit QUICK), (3) episodes of 2gether, made it an entire 6 episodes into Fish Upon the Sky - I didn't like any of them lol none. zero. zip. I wasn't able to pick up on any specific tropes b/c I found the stories so lackluster, badly produced, and ultimately dragged out.
I was willing to give Moonlight Chicken and Only Friends a chance because it looked like something very new and different from the studio as far as their BL went. I was disappointed in the former, and I'm more so frustrated with the latter. I think conceptually MLC worked better as a cohesive narrative at least, with consistent themes. Only Friends is overall, inconsistent.
We can say that now, we're in the endgame, there's two episodes left. The show has been overall inconsistent in it's narrative, tone and themes. Which is why I find it overall frustrating. I think it had a ton of potential, I was expecting something of a lower budget and messier Queer as Folk, but the show won't commit to that. The reek of branded couples is all over the fabric of the show. Like with other shows of there's the branded couples are actively harming the overall strength of the narrative - come for me tinhats - because the narrative can't thrive like it should. And that's where all the wasted potential goes to die - b/c the fandom doesn't seem interested in exploring anything other than sandray fluff fanfic I've almost given up on the ao3 tag.
The snake that is gmmtv's promoting their actors as part-time idol couples is beginning to eat itself. Imo it's actively making their shows worse; both in a macro sense b/c scenes are getting cut or scripts are getting changed b/c capital is being threatened, and in the micro sense of people just being miscast completely in roles they aren't suited for.
My ideal ending would be for topmew and sandray not to be together at the end, but it'll happen not because it's narratively sound but because money is on the line that's completely outside of the show itself. Don't get me wrong I know everybody's gotta make money and what not, but it's how I feel regarding like, Marvel films or Disney remakes. They're so watered down, and overly produced in order to garner mass capital and it harms the potential of the narratives. It harms art.
Since my ideal narrative ending won't happen, my ideal fandom ending would be more folks writing fanfic that explored the different aspects and potential the show could have had. Maybe starting with making Chuem, Ray and Mew less slut shame-y or at least someone calling them the fuck out on it. Providing Boston and Top some more nuance. Or hell, go full camp, explore what the trailer originally sold us on which was true complicated tied up mess. Maybe Mew realizes Ray actually ticks off all the checks on his list for a boyfriend, oop now he's developing REAL feelings for Ray so that complicates things further with their friendship, and the two's relationship with Sand and Top. Maybe Sand and Top had a hate fuck to get out all the tension between them and being second best for Ray and Mew. Maybe Boston's always been envious of Mew and had genuine feelings for Top. Or maybe Boston slept with Top b/c Mew has always been a self-righteous slut shaming ass to him so revenge happens. Maybe make Chuam an interesting character, instead of an audience insert who exists just to call people (boston it's boston) whores, and let the audience know who we should view as a "good" or "bad" person let the lesbian be messy too!
I wanted a full meal at the cookout with the plate piled and instead the crew served me potato salad

Spoiler-Free Review of Star Trek: Picard - Season 3 (from what I've seen so far)
First of all, this is a spoiler-free review of Star Trek: Picard because I have no spoilers to give you! I haven't watched a single episode, but I do watch three to four of the 'Star Trek: Picard: Spoilers for Such and Such an Episode' videos that come up in my recommended feed every Thursday. So I haven't seen a whole lot of it, but let me tell you - I've seen enough.
There will be slight spoilers for earlier seasons of Picard; this could not be avoided.
Second of all, allow me to apologize in advance if you've liked ST: Picard from the start. Or at all. This is probably not the post for you. You've been warned. Now on to the review.
⭐️⭐️/5 (Two stars out of five)
Why? Let me tell you why.
I wanted so badly to like Star Trek: Picard. From day one, I mean, not just now that it's nearly finished and people are still in bed avoiding spoilers for the episode that aired today, which happens to be the penultimate episode if I'm correct, which I might not be because I haven't been following along that closely.
I wanted to like it so badly it hurt. It was one of the only Treks I hadn't watched, being new. And I loved TNG. BTW: there *will* indeed be TNG spoilers but you should be fine so long as you've paid the cable bill sometime in the last 30 years.
TNG was, as most of us agree, utterly amazing!
And that final episode. Where Picard goes to his officers, who are in the midst of a poker game - and they all look vaguely uncomfortable for a moment - and he asks to join them. They relax. Someone, probably Riker, pulls up a chair from him. And Picard looks around the table and he says, "I should have done this a long time ago."
And I was perfectly content to imagine them sailing off into the light of others days. I didn't want a sequel. Especially a sequel where Picard has learned nothing from that seminal moment in his existence. I now read the scene completely different.
The Jean-Luc of ST: Picard never went back to play poker with his crew. Or maybe he did, for a while, but slowly, he lost touch with his bridge crew. They were reassigned. First Worf, then others. And then he lost Data, too. He became bitter and angry and he doesn't even realize until Season 3 that he isn't alone. That he was never alone.
The Jean-Luc Picard I knew and loved from TNG learned that lesson in "All Good Things..." but the Jean-Luc Picard I've seen on my screen recently took three bloody seasons to even come to a modicum of his senses.
Now, there are several redeeming graces in this season. The character dynamics, for one, are very well-plotted and well-played. There's a lot of tension here, and it actually works, unlike in earlier seasons.
And no one can deny that we have a cast of stellar actors who in all likelihood deserved a better show to act out.
Ah, and the nostalgia~! I wasn't ready to watch my heroes grow up and grow old, but well, here we are.
But. And this is a big but. We were promised two things by Star Trek: Picard, by virtue of the very name. We were promised a Trek. And Trek is dark, at times. Trek can be grungy. Trek can grapple with the horrors of conquest and colonialism and cosmic villains. But it's not hopeless, and it doesn't rob the characters of their agency. There's always something that can be done. Some way to pick oneself up and power through. Hopeless is the antithesis of Trek. And a lack of hope is exactly what I see Star Trek: Picard. The entire world - no, the entire galaxy - has lost hope.
We were also promised 'Picard,' but the character we get is unrecognizable as such. He was a realist who used to live in a world of eternal optimism. Now, he's a pessimist who lives in a galaxy where people are afraid of the unknown, immortal cosmic entities can die, and 'the final frontier' has once more become that of the human mind, which is ultimately limited.
Star Trek: Picard boldly went where very few people wanted to see it travel. And it went not with a bang, but with a whimper.
