#how to support artists

Listen, creatives can so often be fragile creatures, and even the smallest bit of support can help take up back up to the peaks of our emotional rollercoaster of creation. More on that subject right here:

Beneath the cut - a quick note on the best ways to support creators and help them through art/writer's block!

Tiers of Support:

If you want to support creatives and give them a boost, there are different things you can do depending on your time and energy! I don't judge anyone for what they do or don't choose to do, I know there are plenty of reasons you may not have energy for a comment or might not even want to leave a visible like/share on NSFW content. That's ok! But if you do want to know what really helps creatives:

Level 1 - Likes/Kudos/Post Reactions

Quick click, show a little appreciation to chase the blues away~

Level 2 - Sharing

Either a basic quick share without comment, or better add a comment to it, a recommendation, a reason for your followers to visit the work and leave their own appreciation for it!

Level 3 - Short Comment

Even a feral keyboard smash to convey your excitement and appreciation can be an instant smile!

Level 4 - Long Comment

Giving a longer comment is even more of a boost - let the artist/writer know what it is you liked most about their work!

Level 5 - Extra Detailed Comment

God Tier and high effort but it is the most validating thing to see on our works! Give us a blow by blow breakdown. Analyse the posing, lighting, brush strokes, and art style. Pick out your favourite lines and plot points in fic and tell us how they made you feel. Essay-length comments have been known to boost creatives to the peak of their abilities, so if you have the time and energy to spend please consider this option!

Again, there's no pressure to do any of these, and we all know there are many reasons why you may not want to or might not be able to and that's ok! Just remember if you do want to know how to support your favourites, these are the things that really fill our hearts~

Hey, so I’d like to say thank you to all who are accepting us Reddit refugees. As someone who’s always wanted to get into Tumblr, I guess I never officially did, until the Reddit blackout.
