headcanon: tim wright knows how to square dance

actually, all the mh cast has at least a bit of knowledge, but tim has the most. let me explain:

the square dance is the state dance of alabama. they also teach square dancing in a lot of P.E. classes as a fun activity, especially in the south (i’m from texas and the week before christmas break we actually learned square dancing in my elementary school)! this isn’t as common in modern times but in the early 00s and before it definitely was

tim started square dancing when he learned it in elementary PE, then kept with it—going to classes, joining a club or dance team, what have you—as a way to meet girls (this was before he realized he had a thing for brian in college). it didn’t help much, but it did give him something to do, and he enjoyed it

he didn’t feel the need to do it so much when he started to get closer with brian, plus he got way too busy towards the end of high school to keep up with it. he taught brian some basics in college though, just for fun, maybe showed him some old photos of him as a kid in his square dancing competition attire

now that brian is gone, every once in a while he’ll put on his music late at night and square dance with a ghost.
