I DID REREAD THE X-TALE COMIC AND REWATCH THE X-TALE SERIES THO AND OH MY GOSH I FORGOT HOW MUCH I HAVE FEELINGS ABOUT THE X-TALE COMIC, ESPECIALLY THE 2ND HALF OF IT LIKE OH MY GOSH I FORGOT SO MANY LITTLE DETAILS THAT MAKE IT SO MUCH MORE DEVASTATING BRO WHY DO I NEED REREAD THIS MORE OFTEN WHAT AM I DOING?!?!

Anyways, that was fun! I guess in a way it was kinda fun having not read it in a while cause like I got to be surprised by some things I forgot. Like Cross almost killing Frisk in the very beginning and then panicking about it and feeling awful. The slow build up of his suspicion of Frisk. And the whole deal with Papyrus secretly protecting Cross from his blasters to make Undyne and Frisk think he killed Cross. I had been thinking that Cross saved himself for a while now. And you know what? You know what that does? YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MAKES EXTRA DEVASTATING?! YOU KNOW WHAT OTHER KNIFE TWISTING DETAIL I FORGOT?! CROSS INITIALLY SPARED PAPYRUS! DO YOU REMEMBER THAT?! DO YOU?!?!?!? CAUSE I DIDN’T! I FORGOT! BUT AFTER CROSS KILLED EVERYBODY HE LEFT PAPYRUS TOTALLY UNHARMED AND WAS LIKE “Papyrus wants me happy 🥰” AND PAPYRUS IS JUST LIKE STANDING THERE AND THEN HE’S LIKE HES LIKE “yeah but like maybe you went like a little too far-“ THEN BOOM HES FUCKING DEAD. CROSS KILLS HIM! LIKE URGHHHHHH IT HURTS IT PHYSICALLY HURTS ME! AND THEN LIKE WHAT HAPPENS DIRECTLY AFTER? LIKE I FORGOT ABOUT FRISK TRYING TO GIVE CROSS THE HEART LOCKET AND THEN CHARA ACCIDENTALLY KILLING FRISK!!! LIKE I HAVE I ROBBED MYSELF BY NOT REMEMBERING THIS ANGST! IT MAKES CROSS’ REALIZATION THAT HE CAN’T ACTUALLY BRING EVERYBODY BACK EVEN MORE DEVASTATING!

So uh yeah I had a very fun time rereading the comic. And then I rewatched the X-Take series like the next day and OH MY GOSH IT WAS EVEN BETTER HAVING JUST READ THE COMIC LIKE IT JUST HITS SO MUCH HARDER AND I should probably stop there before I jump into another rant. This post was not supposed to be this long oops. I’ll just summarize what I was going to say by saying that this series gives me Feelings and Emotions.

I’ve being holding off for a day when my family is out of the house for long enough for me to rewatch all of Underverse Season 2 plus the new episode cause I want to try and see if I can put it on our television. BUT GUYS I DONT KNOW IF I CAN WAIT ANY LONGER! I THINK IM GONNA CAVE! LIKE I DON’T NEED TO WATCH IT LIKE THAT! …well I think I have officially decided that I am not going to wait until the house is empty to watch the new episode cause that’s stupid. I’m going watch it on my laptop with my headphones and a cozy blanket on my bed the way it was intended and it is going to be fucking fantastic.

Blitz throwing the sinner out the window made me giggle. Love jokes like that. See, it is possible for this show to be funny with swearing up a storm.

I hate Andy more than Stolas. Andy deserved that shit. Stolas beating the brakes off of Andy made me laugh. Why wouldn't Stolas be cool instead of being a UWU gay man?

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with cutting out toxic family members. Stolas was too busy getting his asshole tickled by Blitz to spend time with his daughter whose life was crumbling around her. I am tired of Stolas' bitch ass crying. Shut up. You should have drowned in that bathtub.

Loona has friends!!!??? I wish that was an episode of Loona finding friends instead of cringe episodes for people who have not grown out of the fujoshi middle school phase.

This show is jumping the shark. You know the writers are running out of ideas when they make one of the characters pregnant. At least make a male character pregnant, SWITCH IT UP!

Omg, this hellhound is like me for real, I own a pair of cheery earrings. Her design is peak like the other background characters. Someone please save her from this show.

YEP! :D Blitz misses Barbie so much that she has not made an appearance since. She really hates his ass that she removed herself from the show. I hope Blitz trips, taking Stolas with him and they both die and go into a better show with better writing.

RATING TIME: 4.5/10

I had more time cleaning and reorganizing my room than watching this episode. I felt nothing watching certain parts. The only moments I cared for was the ones with Via because of the leak storyboards of this episode. It seems like nothing was changed unlike what happen to Ghostfuckers.

Will I be watching season three? Viv said that season 3 take a while to be released and it is going to be 15 episodes long.

That would be around 2026. I do not know if I want to be watching this show when I am 25 years old. The writing choices of this show are baffling. I think (do not quote me on this) but Viv said season three will focus on the Ars Goetia in an interview which sounds boring. I do not care about their rich classist society. Is Helluva going to be Bridgerton but in Hell?

I can see myself watching Hazbin when I am 25 because there are AUs that I can indulge in when the show's writing gets worse and has like 1000 plots going on, if I do not care for one, I can pay attention to another one. Helluva's main plot point is just Stolas and Blitz, and I am bored of them. I dislike both of them as characters and as a couple/

I don't care for the rest of IMP, Fizz, Ozzie, Bee, Sallie Mae, Striker, and etc and their storylines. The only character I like is Mammon and Via and they do not appear that much.

Talking about this show is a chore. I had fun watching this show back in 2022 (I'm late to the fandom) but now, it is just a chore to sit though. The main plot is boring, and the side plots are the same recycle stuff. I have more fun reading the back label of shampoo bottles than watching this show.

Chapter Four

The next two shifts were mostly normal. Maybe he talked to Evan a little more and didn’t shy away from joining a conversation that included Evan. Maybe their eyes caught a few times and Tommy was tempted to just throw caution to the wind and drag Evan into an empty space and kiss him just because. Maybe, he’d started to get excited about the possibilities that existed if he and Evan really gave it a go between them. Tommy didn’t really think anyone noticed. 

“You’re cheerier than usual,” Howie said to him while they decorated the tree.

“I guess I’m in the holiday spirit,” Tommy said and added a few more ornaments to the tree.

“That is not like you,” Howie said. “Did you meet someone or something? You’re even being nicer to Buck.” 

“I’ve never been mean to Buck.” 

“You skirt a fine line,” Hen observed. “A very fine line and lately that’s changed a bit. It’s not a bad thing.” 

Hen was setting up the table where they would start to collect the donated gifts in a few hours. She fixed the tablecloth so it lay straighter.  

“I guess I just realized he isn’t that bad,” Tommy said. 

He spotted Evan bringing a pile of wrapped cardboard boxes to throw under the tree and he had found a Santa hat to perch atop his head. He looked adorable. Tommy maybe lost a step because he was watching him a bit too closely. 

“What?” Evan asked. “Do I have something on my face?” 

Chim took a few of the boxes. “Just your head.” 

“Very festive,” Tommy added. 

Was it bad that Tommy pictured him in nothing but the hat spread out on his bed? Probably. Hen caught his eye, raised a brow and Tommy had to look away quickly. If Evan, who literally said everything that came to mind hadn’t told them he wasn’t straight, it wasn’t Tommy’s place. 

Between Chim and Evan, they had the fake presents arranged. Tommy added the last of the ornaments and that was probably as well as they were going to do.

“Looking good,” Bobby said. “I’m sure we’ll bring in lots of toys for the kids.”  

A few hours later when people started arriving to drop off toys, Tommy got busy with sorting everything into the boxes that the Toys for Tots people would pick up in a few days. It was all going well for a while until he saw when Evan checked out a woman that walked up to him, saw the way he smiled at her and how she spent more time than necessary talking to Buck. 

“At least, it’s doubtful he’ll steal the ladder truck again,” Howie said. “And…she’s leaving her number.” 

Tommy didn’t know what the feeling growing in his gut was. Jealousy? Maybe a little, even though he really had no claim on Evan and Evan could do whatever he wanted. It just sobered him, reminded him that all they’d had was essentially a hook up and for Evan that was normal. It was what he did. 

Tommy turned away from Evan and Howie both, fixing a few more toys in the box. At the first chance he got, he snuck towards the bathroom and he allowed himself a moment. He’d let himself get not invested, but hopeful. He had to think about the reality and the reality was that Evan, no matter how nice and funny and charming, was still the guy that hooked up with women regularly and never really had relationships. There was nothing wrong with that and Tommy could have a bit of fun, but that was all that it would be. 

He heard the door open and turned in time to see Evan lean against the door, reaching behind him to click the lock. 

“Aren’t you collecting toys?” 

“Hen’s got it,” Evan said and then strode towards Tommy, taking grasp of his chin and kissing him. 

Tommy could do nothing but respond, kissing him back and gasping when Evan pressed him into the wall behind him, keeping their lips locked. 

“Shouldn’t do this at work,” Tommy managed to get out in between kisses that he did not stop. 

“Been wanting to kiss you for days,” Evan said, breath hot on Tommy’s neck before his lips were there and Tommy was leaning his head back onto the wall. “Can’t stop thinking about you.” 

Tommy was hard in his pants. It wasn’t difficult, not when a man as hot as Evan was kissing him and rubbing up against him. He could feel Evan was hard too and they rutted into each other and he shouldn’t have been surprised when Evan reached down to open his pants.

“Ev…Evan, we’re at work.” 

“So what,” Evan said and his hand grasped Tommy gently and then a little tighter. 

If they were going to do this, then Tommy needed it to be quick. Hen and Chim would notice they were gone. Evan’s hand felt amazing, and Evan kept kissing his neck and his jaw and when Tommy had to stifle a moan his lips were there to catch it. Tommy came and Evan somehow had a napkin ready to go so none of it got on either of their clothes. Evan threw it in the direction of the trash and it missed, but he didn’t seem to care, instead he was content to just stay close to Tommy and happy when Tommy pulled him into another kiss and when Tommy’s hand went to Evan’s pants. 

The belt was already undone and it wasn’t hard to open his pants and then there was Evan’s cock a little red and leaking. Tommy wanted to taste him. From the looks of it, Evan wouldn’t last. 

Tommy kissed Evan once more and then he dropped down to his knees. The tile was hard and cold on his knees but none of that mattered. Evan looked shocked, but his hand touched Tommy’s jaw and then hair and Tommy put his mouth on him. 

The weight of Evan’s cock on his tongue was everything. Tommy gave it his all, licking and sucking and using his hand to fondle his balls. A bunch more toys had been added to the pile. Karen had shown up with Denny with a small pile of her own and Denny was admiring the Christmas tree. Tommy had met him enough times to know he was a quiet kid. A good kid. He smiled and waved at Tommy. Tommy waved back. 

“Hey, Tommy,” Karen said. “How did it go the other night getting Buck back to his place?” 

“Oh. He stayed at mine. I have a pull out. He didn’t seem to want to go home.” 

“Oh,” Karen said. 

Did Tommy see Hen and Karen share a look between them. 

“It’s those roommates,” Hen threw in. “He really needs to start looking for his own place. It’s practically a frat house over there, Buck is probably the most responsible of them all which is saying something.”

“That bad, huh,” Tommy said. 

A couple walked up then, holding a couple of Barbies. Tommy moved to thank them and receive the boxes. He’d just placed them on the pile when he saw Evan return. He looked a little flushed still, but happy. Tommy almost couldn’t look away.

There was just something about Tommy. It was hard to not look at him, or want to touch him, or want to talk to him. So much so that when he realized Tommy had disappeared into the bathroom, Buck gave it a couple of minutes before making an excuse to also disappear. 

Afterwards, he felt a little more settled, except that Tommy still looked like that and Buck had to fight with himself to not just make some excuse that got them both out of work. Buck felt like back when he had sex for the first time when he was a teenager and how with that door open he just wanted to have sex all the time. It was all he thought about and all that he wanted. It was the same with Tommy. 

Maybe he hadn’t been wrong about thinking that he did have a sex addiction, except that it was more like an addiction to Tommy and neither of them had even penetrated the other yet. Though thinking about Tommy’s mouth, the way his lips looked while he took Buck in…well, that would be sitting right in his mind the next time he was on his own and needing to take matters into his own hands.  

He and Tommy didn’t spend any more alone time for the rest of the shift and the only acknowledgement of their as of yet undetermined plans, was Tommy touching his shoulder as he headed out. 

“See you tomorrow, Evan. I’ll text you.” 

Tommy did text him the next morning and while Buck waited for the Mr. Coffee to brew his coffee, they texted back and forth and settled on meeting up for lunch. That gave Buck plenty of time to freak out about what to wear and what it meant for him and Tommy to go out like this. On a date. He was going on a date with a dude. 

A few hours later and he was still wrapping his mind around it. 

“Hey, Evan, you alright there?” Connor asked and Buck had forgotten he’d left his door open. 

“I have a date,” Buck said and managed to swallow ‘with a dude’ before he could add that on. 

“Oh, really,” Connor said with a wiggle of his eyebrows. 

Connor was the reason Buck was in LA and Buck had never thought about it much, especially not when he’d been so excited to find a new adventure after being in Peru and getting bored of it. Buck remembered how much he’d liked talking to him when he was serving drinks and how his eyes had caught his smile and liked when he was responsible for it. 

“Meet this one on the job?” Connor asked. 

“Huh. Yeah, actually,” Buck said. “I did.”

“Well, I was going to invite you out to the bar tonight, but since you have a date I’m sure you’ll be busy.” 

Buck rolled his eyes. He heard Connor start to leave and something compelled him to stop him because he couldn’t talk to Hen or Chim or…oh, he couldn’t imagine talking to Bobby about this. It would have been nice if he’d had Maddie around, but since he doubted the Christmas postcard he sent her would be answered — just like all the others — then Connor was probably his best bet. 

“Hey, Connor, have you ever been checking out someone’s ass and realized like five minutes too late that it belongs to a guy?” 

It was probably not the best way to go about this, but he didn’t know how else to approach it. 

Connor eyed him. “No,” he said with a laugh. “What’s going on?”

“I think. No…no, I know, but I think I’ve always checked out guys. Like, a hot ass is a hot ass, you know? And I guess I figured everyone thought that but now—”

“Now you’re realizing not everyone sees things like you,” Connor said. “I think we all get there sometime. What’s bringing this out now?” 

“My date tonight,” Buck said. “It’s uh, it’s with a guy.” 

Connor’s eyebrows went up high. “Oh. So, you’re like just jumping right in. Whole gay experience or whatever.” 

“I’m not gay,” Buck said at once. 

“Yeah, but you’re not straight either. And, it’s perfectly fine. You like this guy, so go for it.” 

He didn’t need Connor to validate him, but it was nice nonetheless to have him just shrug it all off, like who Buck dated or kissed or had sex with didn’t really matter. Connor walked to the door again, but he turned and glanced back at Buck. Offering him a smile. 

“I’m surprised you haven’t deep dived in some research spiral about this.”

“I’ve been distracted,” Buck admitted, fully aware that he was blushing. 

“Oh,” Connor said and laughed. “It’s like that.” 

“Shut up.”  

Buck went through a few outfit changes, put a bit more product in his hair, and then realized that it was time he headed out if he was planning on not being late.

“Good luck,” Connor told him as Buck approached the door. “Make good choices with your man and your gay awakening.” 

“Rude. And, Connor, I’m bisexual.”

Evan had that ability to go from hot to adorable all in the space of a couple of minutes. Tommy had arrived a little early for their date, so he was outside the restaurant and got to watch as Evan walked towards him looking so effortlessly hot and then when he spotted Tommy, he broke into such a huge grin and Tommy was left trying to catch his breath. Then, Evan was there and pulling him into a hug. 

“Hi,” Evan said. “Ready to go in?” 

They walked inside and the hostess seated them right away, one of the perks of lunch instead of dinner. Neither Evan or Tommy had said it while planning, but Tommy was hoping that lunch could turn into going back to his place and that they could wind up getting dinner together too. It was perhaps a bit presumptuous, but Tommy knew Evan and Evan had said he had the whole day free. 

Tommy had shared many meals with Evan before, but usually they were surrounded by other people, with several conversations going on at once and people talking over each other. Tommy tended to be quieter, contributing only when it was truly necessary and never in a conversation with Evan. It was different to have Evan’s undivided attention, but Tommy liked it. 

“So, your art,” Evan said after they’d put in their orders. 

“What about it?” 

“What do you do with it? Do you sell it or gift it or display it anywhere? It’s very good.” 

“It’s not,” Tommy said quickly. “I enjoy doing it, but it’s just fun.” 

“But you’re so good.” 

Tommy didn’t think that was true. Not a lot of people had seen it, but Tommy could hardly compare it to real artists. 

“That’s subjective,” Tommy said. “You saw it in the middle of the night. You were probably still drunk.” 

“If you ask Bobby, I’m sure he’ll love that one of the ladder truck to hang at the firehouse.” 

It would fit in at least, but Tommy didn’t think it was anything too special. Anyone could sketch out a firetruck and then paint it red. 

“You know,” Evan said, “I always thought you were this confident cool guy, but I’m seeing a different side of you.”

Tommy didn’t know how to take that.

“Not…it’s not a bad thing. There’s so much more to you I didn’t know, is all. I like knowing that and getting to know you.”

“And what about you, Evan, are you hiding any secret hobbies?” 

Evan chuckled. “Not really. I mean, I’ve had a lot of jobs but it’s not like I still do any of those things.” 

“Jobs? Like what?” 

Apparently there were quite a few things. He was a mixologist. He’d been a lifeguard and used that as an excuse to surf all the time. He’d worked as a ranch hand. He’d done a few retail jobs. Construction. He’d travelled across the US bartending and taking any odd job and then gone through the training to become a Navy SEAL before dropping out and moving to Peru where he was a bartender right on a beach.  

“And somehow you landed a firefighter in LA,” Tommy said. 

“It stuck. It’s where I’m meant to be. I think it was what I was always searching for. Making a difference. Actually helping people.” 

Tommy couldn’t deny that he enjoyed getting to know more about Evan. He was more than just the impatient, impulsive kid that Tommy had convinced himself that Evan was. It did nothing to help Tommy find a good Christmas present, but he also was pretty sure that Evan would be happy to receive anything. 

Their lunch went by too quickly, the food disappearing from their plates, until Tommy was grabbing the bill before Evan could protest. 

“You’ll just pay next time,” Tommy said. 

It sounded presumptuous, but he saw Evan’s smile, the way it reached his eyes. 

“Yeah,” he said. “Next time.”

Sometimes I think about the Voice and Vessel ships that aren't their respective pairs. So I'm gonna ramble about the ones I really like

Hero and Thorn: I like to think that out of all the vessels, Hero would resonate with Thorn the most. Both of them start off as soft individuals who end up hurting each other after things go south and becoming hostile and cautious. But they eventually reach a point where they are so tired of all the pain and mistrust. Even so, they still want to believe they can make things right and leave together peacefully. Hero always believed in doing the right thing. His compassion is enough to let Thorn know that he truly wants to help her and she can trust him. She's scared of being hurt again and so is he. Now that they understand each other and the pain they've been through, they want to reassure each other that things will be ok between them now. And that's just very sweet to me.

Wraith and Opportunist OR Wraith and Cheated: Ok I might be cheating here since I choose two different voices to pair with Wraith. But I like them both for different reasons! The dynamic between Wraith and Opportunist is just so hilarious (Scary villainess and her loyal bumbling henchman LOL). I love how he tries to butter up to her and she isn't having it at first, but then she starts finding him amusing. And if you let her out, she's genuinely endeared by his support. It's a funny interaction and probably the one nice thing Oppy has ever done for a princess. It also makes sense too since they both have abandonment issues and will do anything it takes to not be hurt again, even if it means they have to hurt others. As for Wraith and Cheated, both are pissed off by the unfair circumstances that they are each placed in (Wraith being cruelly slain as a trapped prisoner and Cheated taking on the role as a slayer with a terrible reward). They take out their anger on each other because they both think that the other made things worse for them. But even so, I like to think this shared feeling might offer both of them to connect somehow. Even if these two aren't willing to empathize with each other, they both know that whatever game they're playing in is "rigged against them". So perhaps, if they were to put their hatred aside and work together, they can both fight for the freedom they've been longing for so long. It may never happen, but ideally it would be an endearing dynamic.

Paranoid and Happily Ever After: We know that Paranoid is usually afraid of the princess, always expecting the worst possible thing she could do to her. But what happens when she meets a princess who just wants to make her happy and is clearly miserable because of it? Despite her initial caution, Paranoid realizes that HEA is just as trapped as she is and urges her to be honest so that the both of them can be free. Sure enough, that urge is what encourages HEA to finally speak up for herself. Perhaps she knows how anxious Paranoid is but still wants her to feel comfortable around her. So she tries to build trust with the voice by being patient and caring towards her. Thanks to this, Paranoid slowly feels less afraid of HEA. Both of these fragile souls know how much it hurts to have their will and freedom taken away, but they can seek comfort in each other now that they are finally free.

Cold and Fury: I really love how out of all the vessels, Cold is clearly amused by Fury (if you get him from Adversary). As a voice who claims to "feel nothing", it would be expected for him to be drawn to someone filled with raw emotion. (WHO'S READY FOR BURNED BRIDGES 2.0 BABYYYYYYYYYY) But then it turns out that he shares something in common with her. Both of them are desperate to feel something, anything. And for Fury in particular, she wants to feel the spark she once had so bad but can't anymore. Once she's taken out all of her anger, once she's done with her agonizing torment, she's left in a sad, lost, and empty state. But Cold is still there. Despite everything, he was able to withstand all the pain. And he too wants to feel something; he just didn't want to do the same thing over and over with Fury. Even if they have both have grown numb to their own feelings, they can still build something together. It's not too late for either of them.

Skeptic and Eye of the Needle: So this is mostly based on the updated ending for EOTN when you free her with Skeptic. Once she's finally out, she is left in a state of confusion. Violence is the only thing she ever cared about and everything outside of that is so new to her. She feels so lost and scared, as if she had long forgotten something important. And that's when Skeptic comes in. He'd be the best one to help her come to terms with her identity crisis. He also knows what it's like to feel lost with so many unanswered questions and he's sure EOTN has a lot of them. So he's willing to guide her towards the answers she is looking for, no violence required. And EOTN would be grateful for this...although this probably won't stop her from wanting to fight him too. (She'd still think he’s a weakling who needs to toughen up and be her equal.) The spark she once had isn't lost yet; she just needs a different approach.

At long last: behind-the-scenes commentary for Lavender’s Blue Chapter 1.

Usual disclaimer that these thoughts aren’t necessarily canonical to the fic verse until/unless I write them into the actual story.

Lavender is a recursive fanfic for my own AU fanfic, so I truly, honestly didn’t think it would be as popular as it is. Two years ago, I would’ve said that an Aemond fic (like Compromise) would’ve been way more popular than any Aegon fic, but life is full of surprises. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Chapter titles are quotes from Westerosi wedding ceremonies performed under the Faith of the Seven (both book and show verse).

The fic was originally supposed to be a short threeshot. As you can see, it’s a full-ass story at 8 chapters and 80k words. 🤡 When I wrote the first chapter, I wasn’t planning on the moon tea scheme, Dorne arc, or prophecy-mad Vizzy T storyline. The fic was just supposed to be Jace and Aegon figuring out an arranged marriage when they don’t know each other. But then I started writing Chapter 2 and I decided I needed plot. 😂

We start the fic with Aegon in his pre-Jace state: a medieval frat bro who just wants to chug beer and sleep around. At first sight, he embodies the “useless heir who’ll probably run his inheritance into the ground” trope. But I try to make it evident fairly quickly that Aegon has a profound depth of emotions, and he shouldn’t be written off just yet.

Back when the fic was supposed to be a threeshot all in Aegon’s POV, Myranda had a different role. Aegon would be teased for falling in love with Jace, and he would try to prove them wrong by going back to Myranda at the brothel. But at the last minute he realizes he can’t go through with it, Myranda gets catty about Jace, he says something like “yeah you’re pretty but not as pretty as my wife,” and Myranda throws him out. The final draft turned out very different, but this alternate story would’ve been kinda funny.

When I imagine pregnant Rhaenyra and pregnant Alicent having a huge fight, I also imagine fetus!Jace and fetus!Aemond being very confused about all the clamor they can hear in the womb.

Aegon acts like he hates the idea of the betrothal, but he definitely keeps that portrait of Jace in his room and looks at it every so often. Now I’m thinking of another AU where Aegon goes to Driftmark to see if Jace is as pretty as everyone says, and maximum chaos ensues because he decides marriage isn’t so bad actually, so they should just marry ASAP.

The Velargirls get the title “princess” solely because Viserys is desperately trying to win back Rhaenyra’s favor. (It doesn’t work, of course.)

Alicent is projecting a lot onto Jace, which is one of the reasons she tries so hard to be nice to Jace. Young Alicent in S1 felt very isolated in her early days as queen, so now she frets that Jace will feel the same. This universe’s Alicent never had her green dress moment, and she doesn’t defy Viserys like she does in S1E6. Here, she tries to exert her influence over Aegon to ensure that at least one other girl (Jace) might be spared some kindness from her husband. This conversation, plus Aegon’s core memory of the aftermath of Alicent’s marital rape, have a big impact on the way he treats Jace.

Otto is keenly aware of the Velaryons’ many dragons, ships, and wealth. In this universe, he prioritizes making the Velaryons happy, because he really doesn’t want the dragons on Driftmark turning against the Crown.

If Jace weren’t betrothed to Aegon from the moment she was born, she would’ve been raised as the heir to Driftmark rather than as a future queen. She can’t be both because, like I mentioned in Compromise, Corlys wants the ruler of Driftmark to always make their seat a priority. Yet another interesting AU idea: Jace is raised as heir to Driftmark, but she can’t keep her status as heir if she marries Aegon. 🤔

In F&B, Viserys is the one who betroths Aegon and Helaena so they can’t marry other houses and gather support against Rhaenyra. Viserys almost does that in this AU before Otto talks him out of it.

Helaena’s quip about Aegon smiling is because she knows he’s about to smile so hard that his face hurts. ☀️

The Green kids get a more functional relationship with their mother in this universe. Alicent isn’t worried about securing Aegon as heir or protecting them from Rhaenyra/Daemon. As a result, she’s much more present in her kids’ lives.

Baela and Rhaena have been absorbed into the Velaryon clan because Daemon ditched them. 💀 He originally planned to take them back to Penrose (like he mentions in S1E7), but he saw how much they were thriving with their extended family. So he allowed the twins to stay on Driftmark—but he left because he didn’t see a place for himself in the Seven Kingdoms anymore. 😔

There is NO WAY Jace is making her debut at court in riding leathers, with messy hair and the stench of dragon. Just picture her and the other girls in the wheelhouse on the way to the Red Keep, frantically changing clothes and brushing hair and spraying perfume. 😂

Aegon: “everyone lies at court.” Aegon 5 seconds later: “nice to see you again, Rhaenyra!”

It would be fun to see 12yo Aemond’s adventure sneaking out of the castle, hitchhiking to Crackclaw Point, and claiming Vhagar. Damn, I need to stop giving myself ideas.

Aegon and Daemon have similar reactions to Joff’s name. Truly, they would get along so well in another life.

Aemond fell into horny at first sight. 😌 Also I love his and Aegon’s brotherly telepathy.

Jace isn’t a military person, but she knows how to go on a strategic offensive. Her goal is to make Aegon like her, so she starts off on the right foot by dressing in Sunfyre’s colors.

Aegon was told to stop doing frivolous things, like draw and play the lute, because those aren’t useful talents for a king. 😞

“I don’t believe you’ve met.” Viserys actually cannot remember if Aegon has met Jace. 💀

Jace is honestly happy to meet Aegon. Alicent made sure he cleaned up well, so he’s looking very dapper.

Jace did her homework for the tourney. She memorized sigils, names, and family trees so she could make a good first impression on all the lords and ladies. Aegon could never. (Good thing he’s marrying her.)

Because Jace has heard rumors about Aegon’s profligacy, she tries to prevent him from drinking too much and potentially causing a scene. The questions she distracts him with are carefully chosen to a) be questions he can answer intelligently and b) help her get to know her husband a bit. She can multitask! And in the end, Aegon is so intrigued by his wife-to-be that he loses interest in drinking. Wins all around.

Aegon notices that he can never catch Jace alone. We learn from her POV this is intentional because she’s worried he might try to seduce her before the wedding ceremony.

Aegon and Aemond have sexual experience, but not romantic experience, so women are a mystery to them. 🙃 Daeron, meanwhile, is like “why don’t you just treat girls like people, they’re not a different species.”

Velargirls are sneakily interrogating Helaena for info about the Targbros. Helaena knows it, and she lets them do it. Her brothers will thank her for it one day.

Otto’s daily cup of prune juice is one of my favorite running jokes in this series.

The bit about Aegon’s “accessories” lying around his bed is a reference to the infamous screenshot in S1E8 of Aegon’s medieval sex toy collection. 😳

The handkerchief that Aegon notices in Jace’s room is the handkerchief she gives him later. It’s also the same handkerchief he waves as a white flag to Laenor and Rhaenys in Chapter 6. Luce knitted the shawl for Jace, of course.

Septa Lucinda is another of my favorite running jokes. Modern!Jace definitely secretly reads smutty romance novels.

Rhaenyra’s diagrams about sex were also mentioned in The Golds. 🤭

Jace wakes up early enough before Aegon that she has time to primp and dress herself to her usual level of being presentable. But she already feels comfortable enough around Aegon to leave off some of her public-facing layers. She even switches to her usual robe, the kind she wears for lounging alone in her room, rather than the skimpy one that’s designed to make Aegon like her.

Viserys intentionally sent the messenger late enough that Aegon would be late to the meeting. 🙄 Luckily for Aegon, his wife is an expert at making people look presentable in very little time.

Even though Larys isn’t able to worm his way into Alicent’s confidence in this AU, he still offs his father and brother. Larys has ambition, and he has better odds of sneakily climbing up the ladder if he’s the lord of Harrenhal rather than a spare.

Aegon is very ADHD-coded in this verse. He also just isn’t meant for administrative work.

Toward the end of this chapter, Aegon has the realization that he’s been using sex as a band-aid. He wants to feel accepted and wanted for himself. As Helaena says later, he wants to be seen. And he already feels like Jace can give him that. Them giving each other permission to call each other by their first name is another milestone in both of them shedding their masks.

Jace’s job in this universe is being Aegon’s wife (at first), and she performs her job like her life depends on it (which it kinda does…?). She already figured out that Aegon gets hangry. Or maybe hupset would be more accurate.

All the urban planning and governance topics that Jace studies isn’t part of a typical lady’s education. But she grew up super close to Rhaenys, who was given an heir’s education. And Corlys and Laenor definitely indulge the Velargirls in their interests.

Aegon does indeed fulfill his promise to build a more beautiful and comfortable throne for Jace next to his. 🥰

unmatched. insane. stan is so happy his brother wants to play with him again AND so guilty about not knowing where 17yo ford or 12yo stan have gone. SO guilty knowing he's lying to ford about what happened when the stans were 17. 12yo is much more interested in stan's new physique. he's so.. strong and muscled and- so ford becomes stan's little coach, funnily enough, just because he wants to watch him sweat through his tight, white shirts and watch them become transparent. stan realizes only when he catches ford jerking to it. and soon, little ford has stan wrapped around his extra finger <3.

12yo ford and 28yo stan!

stan is a nervous wreck and tries to protect ford as best he can. ford appreciates it and.. wow, stanley's.. so much bigger than him now... stan definitely jerks it in the shower and eventually ford joins him. they're SO co-dependent after awhile it's not even funny. 3 months in and they both start cryin' if they loose eachother in walmart. their relationship sexwise switches often because they both want to give and receive support, and they're very romantic with eachother compared to other young!ford x old!stan duos.

12yo ford and 58yo stan!

this is... VERY strange, because depending on the time/setting their relationship could change drastically. if it's before old!ford comes back, 12yo ford doesn't even know it, but he has stan quit working on the portal for a while. i think that would end mostly platonically.

during/right before weirdmaggedon would be incredibly strange and i don't think they'd have time to properly bond, so 12yo ford would have conflicting feelings about stan, similar to dipper did right before and right after canon ford was brought back.

i think any romantic/sexual feelings would only come up between them post weirdmaggedon. stan gets or has his memories still, reconciles with old!ford and bonds properly with young!ford. by day he's with young ford and by night he's fucking old ford into his mattress ;3. until young ford finds out and wants some lovin' too.. stan CAN'T resist the pines puppy eyes, especially if from ford. DEFINITELY lets the kid fuck him silly, but i think they'd both prefer stan take the reins. aaaa they're so cutesy

SO much angst. ford is pissed, but stan is.. stan is NOT doing so good. i think this ford would be very conflicted about whether to be angry or guilty, thinking 'did stan put himself here, or did i?' personally i need BOTH of them to comfort each other. hold eachother close. ford holds stan's hands again, for the first time in nearly a decade. stan starts crying. stan is a MUCH more solid weight and him laying on top of ford when he needs that pressure is so comforting. he knows stan will always be there. CRIES. it might take a while, but they might start getting into a relationship if ford starts appreciating what stanley would do to protect him, or if one or both of them get buzzed off smth and confess or fuck around a little <3. dubcon central!

at first ford might be angry, but we all really know he's just sad. and he hasn't had time to trick himself into hatred, so once stan breaks down those walls i think these two would be SO sweet to one another. stan SPOILS his boy and ford is incredibly into it. ford loves making stan cry and by jove does he turn it into a PROFESSION. (<- meant in a sweet way but dubcon or noncon is so fire.) i just think they'd be real sweet on eachother. this ford DEFINITELY calls stan daddy, i know it in my soul.

28yo ford with 58yo stan

DUBCON BLAST‼️ this ford is angry as hell (to cover his true feelings), meanwhile stan already knows what ford really thinks so he's a GIANT tease. ford says it's hatesex and stan calls it making love. ford calls him a pest in public but if stan pulls him into a secluded place. well. let's just say ford changes his tune after being edged for too long. stan is so mischievous with this ford, but then he'll have sex so gently it makes fords head spin. ford has told himself they hate eachother for so long that it's VERY hard to accept that stan loves him, actually. ford is wrapped around stan's finger and he doesn't even realize it keoejfoajdk.

is ford physically older than stan? yes. but bigger? absolutely not. stan gets a kick out of how ford squirms when his "big brother stan" takes charge to get him to take care of himself (in more ways than one ;3). unsurprisingly, subspace is very helpful when ford hasn't eaten or slept or showered for 3 days, too jumpy or too focused on research! Fellow sighs, pulling his thin coat closer and readjusting the bag in his hands. It’s late, far, far too late to be going on a grocery run—but he and Gidel had run out of food and they needed to eat something. So, of course, he’d headed out into the cold to retrieve something for them to eat, leaving his brother at home to do… well, whatever he wanted to do. No need for the both of them to make the long, annoying trek to the grocery.

If Fellow had it his way, they would have moved somewhere a bit more convenient to get general supplies, but it’s not like they could afford that at the moment. One day.

He turns down an alleyway, having made this exact run numerous times before and knowing by now the quickest route, only to stop short. There’s humming coming from deeper in the alley, and with an air of dread, he immediately realizes who it is.

Why, genuinely, why is this guy always there to annoy him? He just wants some peace for a day or too, not to turn down one of his regular paths and get harassed.

Unfortunately, it’s late. Too late in the day for Fellow to put up with this, but also too late for him to turn and take the longer route. Hopefully he can just get by with minimal interaction, at best.

As he walks down the alley, mind made up, his prediction is instantly confirmed. There, seated on some random crates, humming to himself, is the object of his current stress dreams.

Tilly doesn’t seem to notice him till he’s passing right by, though, which Fellow was initially grateful for until he realized how odd it was. It caused him to slow down as he passed, enough time for the man to actually notice someone was there.

Green eyes immediately catch his own, and Fellow pauses. “What the hell happened to you?” He blurts out.

Tilly blinks at him, eyes a bit glassy. “Oh, it’s my favorite fox!” He says, but it comes out weirdly airy and not all there. There’s a significant lack of intensity to it, and considering the bruising covering one side of his face—and even his arms, now that Fellow gets a good look—there might be a reason for it.

“Did someone finally beat you up?” Fellow asks, unable to just move on. Tilly definitely had it coming, but it’s… weird. This whole thing is weird.

Tilly giggles, like the thought of being beaten up is a particularly funny one. “Yeah.” He responds after a bit, and then lets his head fall back onto the bricks behind him. He immediately winces, holding his head, and Fellow reevaluates his intelligence.

“Damn, I think you’ve got a concussion.” He muses, the glassy look and slightly strange (well, stranger than normal) behavior being an indicator. “Go get that looked at, or something.”

It’s not that he cares, but… this is not the Tilly he’s used to, and he doesn’t really like it, much to his confusion.

Tilly waves a hand. “It’ll… it’ll go away.” He mutters, and then laughs again. “I’ll just sleep it off, good as new…”

And then he lays down right on top of the crates, leaving Fellow staring at him, processing.

The beastman feels his eye twitch. “…The hell are ya’ doing? It’s cold, go home.”

The man’s eyes, which fluttered closed at some point, flicker back open and settle their unsteady gaze back on him. “…home?” Tilly asks, genuine confusion in his voice. He then blinks and shakes his head. “No, I’m sleeping here tonight.” He says.

“Stop being stubborn, just go to wherever you’re staying.”

“I’m staying here.”

Fellow’s scowl deepens. “Stop being difficult. Do you need help walking, or somethin’?! You’ll freeze to death if you stay out here, ya’ don’t even have a coat!”

Tilly sits back up, although it looks like it took some effort, and then stares at him unblinkingly. “It’s fine!” He says, in a weirdly reassuring voice, and then reaches out and pats Fellow’s shoulder with a drowsy smile. “I stayed here last night too, and I’m not dead, so it’s okay!”

With a sudden, startling realization, he realizes that Tilly isn’t being stubborn, but he is being incredibly, horrendously stupid. So stupid, in fact, that he feels almost personally offended by it. This is the guy who’s been giving him trouble nonstop, harassing him, ruining all his plans?

He adjusts his bag of groceries, and then reaches out and throws Tilly over his shoulder.

This course of action, surprisingly, meets zero protest from Tilly. Instead, he’s met with another round of laughter, and a soft “Am I getting kidnapped twice in one week?”

“Twice? Who the hell—“

“Hmm, the guys who beat me up!”

“Ugh, whatever, I’m not kidnapping you.” Fellow says, and tries to ignore the way Tilly has started playing with his hair. Dropping the guy would probably give him double the concussion at this point, and it’s not like Fellow really wants to be an outright murderer.

“What are you doing?” Tilly asks, and he’s really asking himself that question right now, too. What is he doing?

Maybe it’s the fact that at the end of the day, Tilly is like him, struggling to live while having nothing. Even throughout all the harassment, and the annoyance, and just whatever it is the guy thinks is funny that week, he still remembers that they’re technically in the same situation.

…or maybe not the same, considering Fellow doesn’t look beat black and blue at the moment and isn’t currently planning on sleeping in an alleyway in the middle of winter.

“…How have you survived till now?” He asks, thinking through the things Tilly had revealed to him in the past few minutes.

“Hmm, maybe I’m actually a ghost? That would make more sense… I have almost bled out a lot, y’know? I could definitely be dead.” Tilly says, the words considering.

Fellow just feels his glare sharpen, a grimace forming on his face. Okay, so this guy is actually just a walking catastrophe, huh?

“Ugh, just… Stop talking. I’m taking you to my place until you’re back to normal and not at the risk of dying.” He needs him to stop talking before he starts feeling bad for the guy. That would suck.

Tilly hums in consideration, and then laughs again. “But I’m always at the risk of dying.” He says. “Does that mean you’ll have to keep me forever?”

“If I had to keep you forever, I’d be the one to kill you.” Fellow immediately responds.

“Oh, that’s a shame.” Tilly mutters, voice getting quieter. “I personally don’t think it would be too bad.”

“Me killing you?”

“Staying with you forever.”

Fellow pauses, not quite sure how to respond to that, so he just… doesn’t. The guy has a concussion, anyways. He doesn’t know what he’s saying.

the really beautiful landscape/skyscape animation in makoto shinkai's works tends to be the big thing i see focused on and that is understandable and deserved like the weather and lighting effects are unREAL but i do think we should also appreciate how absolute insane the plotlines of his original movies get. at least two movies with in universe catastrophes with major ecological implications. the guns and explosions. theres that one movie i havent seen yet with the guy who turns into a chair (?)
