Fyi for anyone dealing with acne especially those deep ones that don't even pop, just sit there and hurt, don't get those pimple patches.
Not because they're harmful or anything, in fact they work quite well! But rather, get yourself a pack or two of hydrocolloid bandages. Not only are they cheaper than the pimple patches cause they aren't considered a "beauty item", they are larger than the patches, thicker, and stick waaaay better. They come in different shapes and sizes. Since they are bigger, you can cut them in half to get more bang for your buck. They suck out far more gunk than the patches do bc they are, again, bigger and can hold more. They're built to stay on for multiple days and don't come off in water easily.
Plus, you can slap them on a cut or scrape and they reduce the amount of scarring bc of how they keep things clean and moist for recovery. AND! if you're nasty like me and like seeing the gunk come out of pimples, it's very interesting to see just how much they puff up as they absorb the nasty shit in there.
I stick them on my cuticles cause I get infections there all the time and by golly do they help. They stay on in places regular bandaids don't, and shit that would otherwise take weeks to heal or even just calm down from infection are tip top in a couple of days.

Beauty Diary
Chapter 2: Building A Maintenance Routine
Let’s girl talk about how to build a maintenance routine, how to schedule, when to book appointments + understanding medical esthetic procedures.
How to Build a Routine:
Understand yourself and your beauty needs/desires. Do you want to start getting manicures? Are there any skin concerns you want to address + treat? Any enhancements you want? Are you ready to start keeping up with your hair? Once these questions are answered you can start building a routine!
Know what services can be done at a salon or at home.
Research for the best salons and spas near you
Take note of what you learn about yourself from your appointments so you know how to keep up at home. Ex.) Your skin type, curl pattern, hair porosity, ingredients that work best for you + your skin undertone.
List out what services you want done, how often you want them done and what you’re looking to achieve after each service.
Set beauty goals and plan to save for special beauty services.
Facials:
Basic facials should be done every 4-6 weeks.
When it comes to medical spa procedures they should be done at least once a month!
Here’s a short list of my favorite medical spa treatments to gain an understanding of what they are and how they benefit you.
Hydrafacial: a non invasive procedure that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection by removing dead skin cells and impurities while simultaneously delivering moisturizing serums into the skin. (Skin type: ALL) should be done every 4-6 weeks.
Chemical Peel: a solution applied to the face to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new cells. (Skin type: ALL. Darker skin complexions can experience post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) should be done once a month.
Microdermabrasion: a minimally abrasive instrument is used to gently sand your skin in order to remove the thicker, uneven outer portion of skin. Best for light scarring, discoloration, sun damage and stretch marks. (Skin type: Skin prone to acne scars, age spots, unevenness, discoloration and sun damage.) should be done very 4-8 weeks.
PRP aka Vampire Facial: a procedure that involves drawing the clients blood, spinning it and injecting it through microneedling to increase collagen, reduce fine lines/wrinkles, improve moisture retention and enhance skin tone + texture. (Skin type: typically ACNE PRONE SKIN) should be done every few weeks and maintenance sessions are done 2-4 times a year.
Hair Removal
There are many types of hair removal procedures to invest your time and money into. Waxing, sugaring, threading, laser hair removal and electrolysis. It’s best to go in for a hair removal service when your hair is the size of a grain of rice.
Waxing: every 2-5 weeks. face, underarms and bikini can be done every 2-3 weeks. hair length should be 1/4 of an inch.
Sugaring: every 2 weeks. hair length should be at least 1/8 of an inch.
Threading: every 2-3 weeks.
Laser Hair Removal: every 4-6 weeks done in about 4-6 treatment sessions. maintenance treatments can be done once every 6-12 months.
Electrolysis: every 2-4 weeks done in about 8-12 treatments. can take any where from 8 months, 12 months and 2 years to complete the treatment.
Cosmetic Injections
Cosmetic injections tend to be a yearly treatment routine. I recommend investing in packages in order to get more treatment sessions for a certain amount of money. They can also include a free treatment. Packages can be used for medical esthetic procedures such as laser hair removal packages, body contouring packages and tattoo removal packages as well.
Participating in Botox parties are also a good way to get a discount and purchase Botox packages. I used to assist hosting botox parties which included champagne, mimosas, cute desserts and discounts for clients if they brought a friend!
Botox: once every 4 months.
Lip Filler: once every 12-18 months.
Chin Filler: once every 1-5 years.
Non Surgical Rhinoplasty: once every 6 months.
Nails
During the summer time is when I go into the nail salon more often than usual to keep my nails and toes ready for the sunshine.
Gel Manicure: every 3-4 weeks between fills.
Gel Pedicure: 2 weeks to 1 month.
Acrylic Nail Set: filled every 2-3 weeks. every 8 weeks to replace fake nails.
Hair
Your hair should be healthy and kept in good maintenance by using an effective salon routine.
Hair Color: every 4-6 weeks between each hair coloring session.
Haircut: every 6-8 weeks or every 3-4 months.
Extensions: glue and tape extensions every 4-8 weeks, sew-in extensions every 6-8 weeks and micro-link extensions every 2-3 months.
Wig Installations: every 1-6 weeks.
Other
Lash Extensions: every 2-3 weeks.
Lash Lift: every 6-8 weeks.
Lash Tinting: every 4-6 weeks.
Bow Tinting: every 4 weeks.
Brow Lamination: every 4-6 weeks.
Microblading: touch ups 1 or 2 times a year.
Appointment Layout:
Week 1: hydrafacial & extraction session.
Week 2: eyebrow wax & tint.
Week 3: hair cut & color.
PSA:
How often you get any procedures done depends on you, your budget, your skin, your hair, your nails, your stylist, your esthetician or your health care provider. Please build a beauty routine that fits you and your life style the best!

how to reduce acne (and what is acne)
acne is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become clogged with oil and dead skin cells. it typically results in whiteheads, blackheads or pimples that can appear on the face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders. acne is most prevalent among teens but can affect people of all ages. several factors contribute to acne, such as excess oil production, buildup of dead skin cells, bacterial growth and inflammation.
acne is not inherently 'bad' but it is a source of discomfort for many people. while acne itself is not a bad thing, it can lead to potential complications if not managed properly, such as scarring or emotional distress.
when reading this post, it is important to remember that everyone's skin is different and what works for one person may not work for another. i'd like to add that i am not a dermatologist, and this post is written with my own experience in mind as well as research online.
reducing acne involves a combination of skincare practices and lifestyle adjustments. here are some recommended actions:
properly wash your face cleanse your face twice daily to remove excess oil, sweat and dirt. some common face washing mistakes include using the wrong cleanser, over-washing your face, under-washing your face, the wrong water temperature and using a dirty washcloth. don't worry if this all seems confusing, here's a post on how to properly wash your face.
know your skin type use products suitable for your skin type only--oily, dry, combination or sensitive. you can find this out by visiting a dermatologist or (alternatively) researching the skin types and seeing which best matches your skin.
moisturise moisturiser curbs dryness, which balances oil production in your face and therefore helps to prevent acne. choose a non-comedogenic moisturiser to not clog your pores.
consider over-the-counter treatments think about acne treatments with ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
stay hydrated drink plenty of water to maintain skin hydration. good hydration helps to maintain skin elasticity, supports the skin's protective functions and prevents sunburn, sensitivity and oiliness. women should drink about 2.7L of fluids every day (including water, other beverages and food).
limit makeup use minimal makeup and ensure that it is non-comedogenic. don't stop wearing makeup if it is something you enjoy, however, try to limit it in acne-strong areas.
don't touch your face this is a big one, and yet so many people do it. keep your hands away from your face to prevent the spread of bacteria. seriously, you use your hands for so much--you don't want the germs of everything you've touched on your face.
limit sun exposure protect your skin with appropriate sunscreen. and remember to re-apply! limiting sun exposure also reduces skin cancer risk. balance is key, though, because the sun is necessary for vitamin d production and maintaining circadian rhythms.
exercise regularly physical activity can help reduce stress, which may contribute to acne.
enjoy a healthy diet eating a well-balanced diet can support skin health. consider reducing dairy and high glycemic foods. a diet with a low glycemic index may help balance hormone levels, which is the same effect when insulin spikes occur less. essential nutrients promote skin health and help to repair and maintain the skin barrier.
invest in stress management find ways to reduce stress, such as journaling or going for a walk. stress can worsen acne. this is because, under stress, the body's healing process slows down, meaning acne can take longer to heal and become more severe. stress hormones can also increase oil production, leading to clogged pores.

I hate when you're trying to look for references for humans who look human (& not like perfectly curated, photoshopped supermodel Barbie dolls who fit every beauty standard in the book to a Tee) and instead you get images or ads or graphics of sites trying to get you to NOT look like that.
I want a photo of someone with a hooked, large nose, not before/after photos of someone who got a rhinoplasty. I want photos of someone with a post pregnancy body with stretch marks and a saggy belly, not a graphic with tips on how to reduce it. I want a photo of a fat person in a casual pose, not an advertisement for a weight loss drink. I want a photo of someone in their 50s with wrinkles, not a site that tells me which creams can stop you from getting them. I want an aesthetic photo of someone with acne and scars, not a photo of a product that gets rid of it.

Grooming Master List 💅🧖♀️
Long post ahead 🙌
Hair Care💇♀️
Find out your hair needs from a professional. Get your hair done and ASK QUESTIONS. Some questions are, “what my hairs porosity?” “Is my hair fine, medium, or coarse in texture?” “Does my hair lack protein?” Learn about your hair and then buy the appropriate products.
Leave in and then oil your ends. Leave in conditioner is so important. Your hair loses moisture through out the day and a leave in helps prevent that. Sealing the ends with oil prevents the newly added moisture from evaporating. This will help a lot with hair length retention. So basically your hair not breaking at the end or turning to dust (this literally happens.)
Heat-less curls! See below. These curlers are AMAZING! They give you a blow out look without the heat. I always use them now every time I shower. Basically you use them when your hair is damp, sleep on it, and take out in the morning.
Speaking of sleeping, silk bonnets. Covering your hair with a bonnet is so important even if you don’t have curls like I do. It reduces frizz and friction and keeps your hair from breaking and becoming dry. Hot girls never sleep without one!
Hair masks - once a week
Hair oiling. Use an oil that works with your hair type (fine, medium, coarse.) apply to scalp before you shower and wait 30 mins or longer if your hair can handle it. Make sure to massage 💆♀️
Clarify your scalp when needed
Hair powder. Buy or make a hair powder to use as a dry shampoo. They absorb oil and add thickness to the hair shaft. Win, win! Etsy is the place to shop.
You cannot train your hair. That’s not how the body works, sorry. If you need to wash your hair, wash it.
Skin Care🧴
See a dermatologist! If you are struggling with consistent acne or the aftermath or scars and inflammation. See a Dermatologist
Figure out what kind of acne scars you have. There’s P.I.E (Post inflammatory erythema) which is the red mark left over, P.I.H (Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) the brown spots left over, atrophic scars, boxcar scars, ice pick scars, or hypertrophic scars. Each scars nerds something different. I get P.I.E which likes retinol, niacinamide, and dermabrasion.
Wear Sunscreen EVERYDAY. I don’t care if it’s raining or you aren’t going anywhere, windows exist. Anything over 50 SPF doesn’t get stronger BUT it does last longer. You can also use your sunscreen as a moisturizer if you are not super dry.
Anti-aging. You should only be using anti-aging at 25 years old and up. 25 is when you start to age so doing it before is detrimental to skin health.
Double cleanse EVERYDAY even if you wore no makeup. Your sunscreen should be waterproof so it needs an oil to break it down. So wash your face with an oil cleanser than a water based cleanser.
Hand/Nail Care 🤚
Buy a good hand moisturizer not those fragrance ones. Cerave and la roche posay have good ones. Apply at night and then apply a cuticle oil then wear a moisturizer glove. They have ones with tech fingertips so you can still use your phone before bed.
Gel nails at home. Get the equipment to do your gels at home. It’s not expensive anymore and it’s super easy. You will have to watch a tutorial because it’s a very different process than regular nail polish. You NEED a base coat and top coat for it to work btw. Also please scrape your nails before applying. There’s an invisible layer of skin on your nails I promise you. I’ll talk more about this in foot care. I recommend doing nude colors because they look better as they grow out.
UV gloves. If you are doing Gel nails you need UV blocking gloves. They have kinds that leave the finger tips out so you can do your nails. You really don’t want to be blasting your hands with UV. It’s like a tanning bed for your hands. I also suggest driving UV blocking gloves. They have grippies for driving. When you drive your hands are blasted with the sun. The back of your hand are super delicate and prone to sun damage and aging. There’s also hand sunscreen which I recommend.
Foot care 👠
You NEED a pedicure kit. I recommend this
Watch the meticulous manicurist on YouTube she is a wealth of knowledge!
You want to get ride of the junk in your side walls and on top of your nail!
Use a glass foot file to get rid of dry skin and calluses. Speaking of calluses there are things you can buy that reduce them if you get them in the same spot every time. I get one under my big toes so there’s silicone cushions that wrap around my big toe and help with the extra pressure I’m putting on them. They have heel ones too!
Kerasol foot cream is the best foot cream it’s what dems suggest. You can buy moisturizer socks and put them in after applying and sleep on it or wrap your feet in Saran Wrap then a sock if you can’t spend the money.
Hair removal 🪒
Eye brows - it’s super cheap to just get them professionally threaded honestly. A professional can do a better job than you. Simply set a recurring day on your calendar. Go once or twice a month depending on your brows.
Do not shave your face at home! It’s a form of dermabrasion and if everything isn’t 100% sterile than you can get infected and lots of acne.
Kitty 🐱 I honestly prefer an electric shaver and using the razor only for the bikini line. Less irritation and it still looks neat.
Armpits - waxing or laser is the best but regular shaving is fine.
Legs - you can use hair conditioner as shaving cream!
Other tips on how to look good daily, wear jewelry everyday that fits your skin tone, learn your colors (summer, winters, fall, spring, and more. I’m a soft summer.) Learn your Kibbe type. I am a soft dramatic!
And of course eat healthy and exercise! 🏋️♀️🏃♀️

Say Goodbye To Acne Scars And Unlock Clear Skin
Acne scars can be a frustrating reminder of past breakouts, but fear not! With the proper skincare routine and the power of niacinamide, retinol, azelaic acid, and AHA/BHA, you can fade those scars and achieve the clear skin you've always desired. In this article, we'll explore how these incredible ingredients work their magic and provide you with an easy-to-follow routine for achieving optimal results.
Niacinamide: The Skin's Best Friend
Niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3, is a superstar ingredient when it comes to fading acne scars. This potent antioxidant helps reduce inflammation, regulate sebum production, and improve skin texture. Incorporate a niacinamide serum into your routine to reap its benefits. Apply a few drops after cleansing and before moisturizing for maximum effectiveness.
Retinol: The Holy Grail Of Skincare
Retinol, derived from vitamin A, is a game-changer for acne scars and overall skin health. This ingredient boosts collagen production, speeds up cell turnover, and reduces hyperpigmentation. Start with a low-concentration retinol product and gradually increase usage to avoid irritation. Apply it at night, after cleansing, and before moisturizing, and always wear sunscreen during the day, as retinol can increase sun sensitivity.
Azelaic Acid: The Brightening Warrior
Azelaic acid is a multitasking ingredient that not only fades acne scars but also helps with redness, hyperpigmentation, and acne itself. This gentle exfoliant unclogs pores, reduces inflammation, and brightens the skin. Look for a 10-20% concentration product and apply it after cleansing, followed by moisturizer. Remember to patch test first to ensure compatibility with your skin.
AHA/BHA: The Dynamic Duo
Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) are exfoliating powerhouses that work wonders on acne scars. AHAs, such as glycolic acid, help fade scars by gently removing dead skin cells and promoting cell turnover. BHAs, like salicylic acid, penetrate deeper into the pores, reducing inflammation and preventing future breakouts. Incorporate these acids into your routine 2-3 times a week, starting with a lower concentration and gradually increasing as your skin adjusts.
In Conclusion
Achieving clear skin and fading acne scars is within your reach with the help of niacinamide, retinol, azelaic acid, and AHA/BHA. Remember to introduce these ingredients gradually into your routine and always patch-test new products. Consistency is vital, so be patient and give your skin time to adjust. Embrace this powerful skincare routine, and soon enough, you'll be saying goodbye to acne scars and hello to a radiant, flawless complexion!

How can deal with acne?
Here are some tips to manage acne
Dealing with acne effectively involves a combination of good skincare habits, treatments, and lifestyle adjustments. Here are some tips to manage acne and promote clearer, healthier skin:
1. Follow a Gentle Skincare Routine
Cleanse Twice Daily: Use a mild, non-comedogenic cleanser morning and night to remove excess oil, dirt, and makeup without irritating your skin.
Moisturize Daily: Even oily skin needs hydration. Choose a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to keep your skin balanced and prevent it from producing more oil.
2. Use Acne-Fighting Products
Salicylic Acid: A gentle exfoliant that helps to unclog pores and reduce inflammation.
Benzoyl Peroxide: Kills acne-causing bacteria and reduces oil production. Start with a lower concentration (e.g., 2.5%) to avoid irritation.
Tretinoin (Vitamin A Derivative): Promotes skin cell turnover and helps prevent clogged pores. Prescription-strength Tretinoin (like A Ret 0.025% Gel) is effective for moderate to severe acne but should be used under a dermatologist's guidance.
3. Avoid Touching Your Face
Avoid picking or squeezing pimples, as this can lead to scarring and spread bacteria, making acne worse.
4. Use Non-Comedogenic Makeup and Sunscreen
Opt for products labeled "non-comedogenic" to avoid clogged pores. Sunscreen is especially important, as it protects against hyperpigmentation and irritation, particularly if you’re using acne treatments that make your skin more sensitive to the sun.
5. Eat a Balanced Diet
Foods high in sugars and dairy have been linked to acne flare-ups in some people. Focus on a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, lean proteins, and whole grains, and drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.
6. Manage Stress
High stress can cause hormonal imbalances that lead to acne. Incorporate stress-relieving practices like exercise, meditation, or hobbies into your routine.
7. Consult a Dermatologist if Needed
If acne is severe, persistent, or causing scarring, a dermatologist can recommend stronger treatments like oral antibiotics, hormonal treatments, or retinoids for better control.
Managing acne takes patience and consistency. With a well-rounded approach that includes good skincare habits, acne-specific products, and a healthy lifestyle, you can significantly improve your skin’s health and appearance over time.

“~oh hydrocolloid patches don’t work skin care is a scam~!1”
A combination of silver alginate and hydrocolloid bandages helped heal a wound on my ankle that became infected in the hospital after my car accident, as well as heal wounds on my abdomen after a cholecystectomy. The problem is that people think hydrocolloid bandages branded as “pimple patches” will cure their acne. It doesn’t. Skin care in general is a very important part of medicine that like with any medicine should be well understood or else you’ll end up susceptible to grifters. Hydrocolloid bandages work, you just don’t know how to use them if you say they don’t work and some companies bank on you not knowing how to use them so you’ll just buy “pimple patches” for any pimple, when really they only work on open wounds.
Let’s say you have a pimple that bleeds and/or has pus. A hydrocolloid bandage can help your body get rid of the pus, reduce inflammation, and keep the wound clean and free of infection. It also provides a moist environment for wound healing and for me, it helped reduce scarring. They are tools for wound healing. That’s it. They are not a cure for acne, especially if you have papules and nodules. Not all skin care is out to get you. There are many products that are useful and necessary to maintaining your health, and taking care of your skin is an important part of that process. But, you need to know how to use products before you buy them and avoid buying things just because they’re on trend.

Despite having just fallen from the sky, they were celebrating.
The canoe, while quite large for a boat of its general stature, was far too small to well contain all of its occupants. Each of its passengers were all stuffed close together along the seats and sides, but they hardly were thinking about that. They were thinking about victory.
And that sense was easily present on their faces. They felt that joy and relief down into the depths of their souls. Fear held their hearts still, but its grip was loosening minute by minute as the port lights grew closer, shining like pure gold across the night-black waves. The canoe rocked its way towards those lights, on its own time.
The grizzled looking, war-scarred woman stood over everyone, placing a hand on her comrade's shoulder to not fall over the side. "A toast, everyone!" She shouted into the night air, smiling wide. She held up her hand holding an imaginary glass, "A toast to Aegeus, and his broken fucking sword!" And thrust the glass into the air, to a cheer from the folks around her. The whole crowd cheered and laughed warmly as they looked to the boy in question, to warmly shake his shoulders and lay congratulations on to him.
Aegeus, or Aggy as most people called him, was content to receive all the praise from the knights who all looked at him with a twinkle in their eyes. He had a genuine mop of dark brown hair and a genuine face just on the cusp of adulthood, with some fading acne marks still marking his cheeks. Particularly bright green eyes looked towards each soldier around him with each word of praise. As he acknowledged them one by one, he glanced at the girl next to him, who looked unbothered by all the commotion but all the same unsure if she was looking at anything at all. The girl, named Calliope, had Asian features and straight black hair that covered most of her face from Aggy's perspective, looked over to him. They had, unmistakably, the same eyes. The two regarded each other quite seriously for a moment, the silent and brief exchange replaced a conversation that might have gone like this:
"You alright, Callie?"
"Oh, great. Just overwhelmed."
"By the knights?"
"They sure aren't celebrating your intelligence."
"Harsh."
"Just show them your sword or something. Hold it away from me, please."
Aggy freed his arm from the tangle of folks and drew what was left of his sword, and each figure aboard the boat shrunk in its strangeness. The hilt and guard shone in the approaching port lights, the gold highlighting the bronze in quite a magical way.
The blade, less so. To a length of about four inches from the guard it was indistinguishable from an average blade. What was left of the rest of the blade was corroded, scorched, weakened with frost growing in the cracks. Even reduced to such a diminished form, the weapon's power was clear in the chill it left in the air, how it seemed to be eating even the light from the port into itself. Its ominous presence was felt through all of the occupants of the boat. Calliope shivered a bit as he brought the blade into view.
"To the real hero, all." He lifted the sword above his head, a tight grip held it horizontally above his head in salute. "The Banisher Blade." The boat's raucous joy faded a bit at the presence of the blade, yet all in the boat gave the salute back in respect. Aggy was gladdened to notice that many of the knights were not looking at him anymore, their eyes instead fell upon the blade. Fear squeezed the hearts of the company here, but they took shelter in the proximity of each other, the safety of the sea, and the warm lights at their backs. They stood firm, and for that, Aggy felt proud.
Aegeus glanced to the front of the boat, and noticed the one figure who was not looking at him or the blade. He faced the sea, staring. Unlike most of the people on the boat, he was not wearing armor. All he had were clothes of red cloth, rich and beautiful in the light, which was the second most interesting thing about him. The massive, feathery wings on his back took the number one spot for that. His hair was blond just like his feathers, long and graceful in the way they fell down his back. His profile outlined a soft yet somehow sharp face, young but also aged, and glowing brightly yet looking so solemn.
Aggy thought he was, in a word, beautiful.
He placed the Banisher Blade back in its scabbard, and mumbled something to the crew to get them back to their carousing. Carefully stepping across the boat over many pairs of legs, he approached the radiant figure. Somehow, it was quieter on this side of the boat.
Aggy extended a hand to his shoulder, bare skin shivering at the touch. The face looked up at him, surprised.
"For what it's worth, Ganymede, I forgive you." He said quietly, gesturing with his eyebrows. Ganymede looked back out to the sea.
"What does one do with forgiveness, Aegeus?" His voice floated to meet Aggy's ears like a gentle violin. "Carry it with you? curl it up into a ball and throw it away once you're not looking?"
"Flatten it into a stone and see how many times it skips." Aggy remarked. Silence fell between them for a moment, his attempt at a lightening remark falling noticeably flat.
"I'm sorry for lying." Ganymede said. "I've never done it before." At this, Aggy crouched down to Ganymede's level. Ganymede's eyes were not like his, but they met each other's gaze with a soft familiarity.
"Mortality's tough, huh?" Aggy asked. Ganymede nodded like a dog shaking out its fur. "Like I said, I forgive you, Gans. "
"And Calliope?" Ganymede asked, voice quivering slightly.
"She'll get over it." Aggy said, looking over at Callie, who was deep in a conversation with some knights, holding a drawing of an ox and gesturing emphatically. "I should probably get back to the company. We'll all sit down over a meal and talk it out tomorrow, okay?"
"Can we have those ribs again?" Ganymede asked. Aggy thought for a minute on what to say.
"We'll get something just as good, promise." He said, and walked back to his seat. For now, his armor was quiet, and the Banisher Blade weighed much less in its scabbard. As he met eyes with Calliope once more, he thought back to what the Oracle told them.
He couldn't possibly kill Ganymede, that didn't seem right. I wouldn't do that, he thought to himself. I won't.
Right?

Scar Reduction Treatments: Options and Effectiveness
Scarring is the expected natural outcome of healing, but sometimes it can be very embarrassing to look at. With so much advancement in skincare in the recent past, you are now able to reduce this appearance of scars significantly, hence bringing about your confidence in your skin. Let's delve deeper into these most effective available treatments and what can be expected from them.
Types of Scars
Before looking into treatments, let's learn about the types of scars:
Atrophic Scars: Indented scars, like those from acne or chickenpox, caused by loss of tissue.
Hypertrophic Scars: Thickened scars that remain confined to the limits of the primary wound.
Keloid Scars: Elevated, raised scars that project beyond the injury area.
Contracture Scars: Frequently found following burns, they pull the skin into contracting and can impair movement.
Treatment Options for Scar Reduction
1. Topical Treatments
Over-the-counter creams, silicone gels, and patches can improve the appearance of newer scars. Silicone sheets are particularly useful in flattening raised scars and reducing redness. These topical treatments prove more effective when continuously applied to fresh scars.
2. Microneedling
This treatment is all about the tiny needles creating micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate collagen production. It is especially effective for depressed scars, such as acne scars, and can improve texture over time. You might need multiple sessions, but the results are worth it!
3. Laser Therapy
Lasers can be miracles in resurfacing the skin and promoting growth. For raised scars, they can reduce height and redness, while for depressed scars, they promote collagen. It may take several treatments, but the results can be dramatic.
4. Chemical Peels
If you’re dealing with discoloration or superficial scars, chemical peels can help. By exfoliating the outer layer of skin, they encourage fresh, healthy skin to come through. This is a great option for mild acne scars or pigmentation issues.
5. Steroid Injections
Raised scars, such as keloids or hypertrophic scars, can be flattened over time by steroid injections. The treatment is fast and effective but often needs to be repeated for a permanent effect.
6. Dermal Fillers
Depressed scars can be temporarily lifted with fillers, giving your skin a smoother look. The effects are immediate, although they last only 6 to 12 months.
7. Surgical Options
In most cases, for the bigger and deeper scars, surgery to remove or revise would be an excellent choice. Usually, a last resort but can work well enough in many burn or injury cases.
How Effective Are These Treatments?
No treatment can completely erase a scar, but many can make it much less noticeable. This is all dependent on the type and age of the scar, the type of skin you have, and how well you follow through with aftercare. Sometimes, using a combination of treatments—such as microneedling and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)—can create an even better outcome.

How Do Anti-Ageing Treatments Work on the Skin?
Ageing is a natural process, but thanks to modern skincare, we now have various treatments that help to slow down or even reverse visible signs of ageing. Let’s explore how these treatments work and why they’re becoming increasingly popular in cities like Ahmedabad.
Understanding Anti-Ageing Treatments
Anti-ageing treatments are designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other common signs of ageing. These treatments range from topical creams and serums to more advanced in-office procedures. Each treatment works differently but aims to refresh and rejuvenate the skin, helping it look smoother and more youthful.
Types of Anti-Ageing Treatments
People are exploring different anti-ageing options to maintain a youthful look. Here are some popular treatments:
Topical Treatments: Anti-ageing creams and serums with ingredients like retinoids, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants can help reduce fine lines and improve skin texture. These ingredients work at the cellular level to increase skin elasticity and firmness.
Botox Treatment: Botox is a well-known treatment to smooth out wrinkles, especially around the eyes, forehead, and mouth. It works by temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for wrinkles, giving in a smoother appearance. Botox treatment in Ahmedabad has gained popularity as it offers noticeable results with minimal downtime.
Dermal Fillers: Fillers add volume to areas like the cheeks and lips that tend to lose fullness with age. By restoring this volume, fillers create a more youthful contour. They are a quick way to add vibrancy to the face, and the effects are usually visible immediately.
Laser and Light Treatments: Lasers are used to even out skin tone and reduce pigmentation caused by sun damage. These treatments help stimulate collagen, the protein responsible for keeping the skin firm and plump.
Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion: These procedures remove the top layer of dead skin cells, promoting skin renewal. Chemical peels can target wrinkles, dark spots, and even acne scars, revealing fresh skin beneath.
How Do These Treatments Work?
Each treatment works differently, targeting the skin’s layers to combat specific signs of ageing. Botox, for instance, works by relaxing facial muscles, while fillers add volume directly to areas of the face. Lasers and peels, on the other hand, encourage the skin to produce more collagen, which is essential for keeping it firm and wrinkle-free. The result? A smoother, younger, and revitalised look.
Benefits and Considerations
Anti-ageing treatments can deliver both immediate and long-term results, making them popular choices for those seeking youthful skin. Quick-fix options like Botox and dermal fillers can enhance your appearance almost instantly, while treatments such as laser therapy and chemical peels offer gradual improvements in skin texture and tone over time. However, it is critical to approach these treatments wisely. Consulting a qualified dermatologist is essential to determine the most suitable options based on your skin type and personal goals. This professional guidance ensures that you achieve the best possible results while maintaining the health and integrity of your skin.
It’s also essential to note that these treatments have potential side effects. Redness, swelling, and minor bruising are common, but they usually fade quickly. For those considering anti - ageing treatment in Ahmedabad, consulting with a trusted professional will ensure you receive safe, effective care tailored to your needs. They can guide you through the options available and help you manage any side effects, allowing you to achieve the youthful appearance you desire while prioritizing your skin’s health.
Conclusion
In Ahmedabad, many people are looking for anti-ageing treatments like Botox to refresh their skin and boost their confidence. With so many options available, it’s easier than ever to achieve youthful skin. If you’re thinking about these treatments, it's important to consult a professional to find the best option for your skin type. How to use salicylic acid and Retinol together
It may surprise you to learn that using Retinol and Salicylic Acid together to cure breakouts and lessen the appearance of skin ageing is safe and effective,
Incorporating Retinol and salicylic acid into your skincare regimen can be quite beneficial for addressing various skin issues, such as wrinkles, acne, and clogged pores. When appropriately applied, these are vital ingredients that can help revitalise your skin, improve its texture, and increase its clarity. But if misused, they can also be annoying, so knowing how to use them together is essential. Continue reading to find out how to use salicylic acid and Retinol together.
Salicylic Acid: What Is It?
Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that dissolves dead skin cells and excess oil by penetrating deeply into the pores. It is renowned for:
minimising whiteheads and blackheads
cleaning the pores to prevent acne outbreaks by exfoliating the outermost layer of skin
Retinol: What Is It?
One type of vitamin A called Retinol speeds up the turnover of skin cells to show smoother, more youthful-looking skin. It supports:
wrinkles and fine lines
Over Pigmentation
enhancing the texture of the skin
Salicylic acid vs. retinol for acne
You probably want the best components in your skincare arsenal if you’re struggling with the ups and downs of adult acne: Salicylic Acid is one of acne’s worst foes, and Retinol is the gold standard for minimising the look of skin ageing, particularly the scars left behind by breakouts. Theoretically, this dynamic pair is all you need to overcome adult acne. However, when combined, typical Retinol and Salicylic Acid solutions can irritate the skin, weakening the skin’s protective layer and impeding your progress towards cleaner skin.
What skin benefits does salicylic acid offer?
Salicylic acid, the most widely used BHA, was initially made from willow tree bark. Because it is an oil-soluble exfoliator, it can dissolve dead skin cells and oils stuck in pores by penetrating your skin’s sebum.
Benefits of salicylic acid in general
Exfoliant: removes dead skin cells
Breaks down oil that has become stuck in pores.
Anti-inflammatory: reduces flushing
Antibacterial: destroys germs
breakdown of keratin by a keratolytic
How does Retinol benefit the skin?
Retinol, a robust and water-soluble antioxidant derived from vitamin A, accelerates the process of cell turnover and promotes replacing older, dead cells with new, living ones. Less dead cell accumulation reduces the possibility of those cells obstructing your pores.
Retinol relieves several skin conditions, such as:
Unknown
wrinkles and fine lines
Production of collagen
sun-related harm
Over Pigmentation

So you lot are going to hear about a bit of biology with tieflings because why not alongside other species
So tieflings are a pretty common species that generally live in warmer climates, south of the country mainly, it's rare to find large settlements of tieflings in northern areas, there might be a family or 2 in a village in the mountains but not a lot. Tieflings have short lifespans compared to elves and there's a big market for different products and such to give them a longer lifespan if they have a partner or someone they would want to live as long as (an enemy, best friend, pet ect)
Tieflings have a different type of puberty to most species, during puberty tieflings start to grow their horns as they evolved to grow that way to minimise damage when giving birth. There are 2 horn types, bone horns and keratin horns. Bone horns grow up out of the scalp, and they are as the name suggests made out of bone. They can either be white or black naturally. Keratin horns are a bit more fragile than bone horns and are much less painful than bone horns when they start to develop. Bone horns break skin when they grow and are much more painful than keratin horns
There are certain deformaties that can happen, such as the horn growing out of the eyesocket and such.
Tieflings in military families have scales, as an extra layer of defence, that are never human skin colours.
Certain Tieflings have wings, wings are a defender thing that were developed to protect against acid burns, they're rare and pretty much useless and are normally removed through cosmetic surgery
Tiefling men on average are around 7'2" tall and tiefling women are normally around 6'11" to 7' tall
Tieflings have their own set of beauty standards; curly horns are seen as more desirable, scars on men are seen as more attractive, wings are considered extremely ugly like can ruin a person who is attractive by every other standard, scales on men, know what take picrews of general beauty standards (hair and eye colour is up to personal taste):
Sarin, our resident tiefling character, isn't generally attractive by tiefling beauty standards but is attractive by high elf beauty standards.
High elves have ridiculously long lifespans, and live in mountainous areas they're generally found up north.
High elves hair turn silver as they age, like not grey but silver and they tend to not show signs of physical ageing until they reach a certain age and are considered seniors
^^ old high elf hair (pics from Pinterest)
Wood elves physically look a lot like high elves but the differences become much more apparent as they age, specifically that wood elf hair turns green as they age
^^ ageing wood elf hair (from Pinterest)
Their skin can change colour as they age, it changes to a colour similar to the bark of trees they grew up around (they tend to live in forests in the west)
Young wood elves greatly benefit from growing up around nature and getting to bond with forests; it can help boost their immune systems, help reduce acne, helps with hormone levels and generally makes puberty much more manageable for everyone
Wood elves tend to have tougher skin and makes it so the majority of wood elves have never experienced a papercut or bee sting
Mushroom infections are very common amongst wood elves and most people are trained on how to deal with the infections
A fun thing with our pal Aion is that they're related to a tiefling and has a bit of something resembling horns and it has greatly benefited him with his height
