Ceramides play a crucial role in nourishing and safeguarding the skin barrier against harmful external toxins. These wondrous molecules act as the body's natural defense mechanism, keeping the skin hydrated and supple. By forming a protective layer, ceramides prevent moisture loss and shield the skin from environmental aggressors like pollution and UV rays. This helps maintain the skin's integrity, preventing dryness, irritation, and potential damage. So, in a nutshell, ceramides are like the superheroes of skincare, ensuring our skin stays healthy and protected.

Hey does anyone know of a site like CurlScan (a site that tells you if a product is Curly Girl approved) for Rosacea???? I'm just so overwhelmed looking through the ingredients on every single product I go to buy. I just want to wear sunscreen without my face feeling like it's on fire and be able to type in the name of the product to find out whether it's going to give me hives/acne/a rash/etc
Please reblog this even if you don't have an answer just in case someone else does

This is your sign to try Isotrentinoin for acne!
This is a little out of left field but someone asked me today if Isotrentinoin (Accutane) was worth it, and I want to shout from the roof tops that my answer is yes. It changed my skin and my life. In the six years since I took a single six month course I have never had another cystic breakout and only a few nodules which I caused by picking. Even when I don’t use my topical medication, I don’t have major breakouts.
I know trying this drug can be especially intimidating for AFAB people, because the consequences of getting pregnant while on it are so dire. When I took it I was young enough that insurance accepted abstinence as birth control; but if for whatever reason one type of birth control is not right for you it is worth it to find a provider who will work with you and insurance to find a solution.
I had cystic acne develop at an unusually young age, and insurance wouldn’t cover Isotrentinoin until I was thirteen. My dermatologist at the time refused to fight them on it. If this is your child’s situation, don’t be afraid to find a new doctor! Fight your insurance! There are people who need several rounds, and people who experience extreme side effects, and even those for whom it doesn’t work. But I just want to put some hope and positivity out there for people dealing with cystic acne like I have. We are beautiful with or without acne! ❤️😘❤️

hey, i'm so sorry to ask this again bc i know you've gotten a bajillion versions of this ask, but could you drop your preferred skincare products again? I tried looking for the post in your archive but can't seem to find it, I'd also happily be directed to an older post if you can dig one up
Morning routine, in order:
[I don't wash my face with anything in the morning for oil production reasons. But I do sometimes splash my face with cold water/pat dry] Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum (applied with a refrigerated jade roller which makes a huge difference re my morning face puffiness and also wakes me up nicely)
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer
Paula's Choice sunscreen
Evening routine in order:
Versed Day Dissolve Balm
Versed Keep the Peace Cleanser
Paula's Choice BHA chemical exfoliant Solid 10 min break here, sometimes I do a first round of moisturizer if it's cold/dry Versed Eye Balm
Paula's Choice Retinol
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer
Once or twice a week: Versed Dr's Visit Resurfacing Mask And some sort of rice paper moisturizing mask afterward (I get these in bulk from the Korean grocery store or online if there's a sale). And if I DO get a breakout I love these Spot Dots. And that's my routine at the moment!

Revamin Acne Cream -Acne
Revamin Acne Cream is a topical skincare product that is marketed as an advanced solution for various skin imperfections, including acne, blackheads, whiteheads, and oily skin. According to its manufacturer, Revamin Acne Cream is formulated with natural ingredients that work together to combat these skin concerns and improve overall skin health.
The ingredients in Revamin Acne Cream include salicylic acid, tea tree oil, aloe vera, allantoin, and niacinamide. Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that exfoliates the skin and helps to unclog pores, while tea tree oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation and prevent the formation of acne-causing bacteria. A sensational cream for acne-prone skin!
Aloe vera is a soothing and hydrating ingredient that can help to calm irritated skin, while allantoin is a natural compound that can help to improve skin texture and promote healing. Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that has been shown to have a range of benefits for the skin, including reducing inflammation, improving skin barrier function, and reducing the production of sebum, which can contribute to acne.
To use Revamin Acne Cream, you should apply a small amount to clean, dry skin once or twice a day, depending on the severity of your acne or other skin imperfections. It is important to follow the instructions carefully and to avoid using the cream on broken or irritated skin.
While Revamin Acne Cream may be a helpful addition to your skincare routine if you are dealing with acne or other skin imperfections, it is important to remember that individual results may vary. It is always a good idea to consult with a dermatologist or other skincare professional before starting a new skincare product or treatment. See how Revamin Acne Cream affects the condition of your skin. Take up the challenge and get rid of acne!

Btw... No filter, no makeup(minus some mascara that refused to go away), post skin care routine. I don't want anyone to think I have perfect skin because I don't.
44 years of life, most of that spent in Phoenix, Arizona where the sun is horrific, and cystic acne from puberty through now.

Glycerin is a fantastic ingredient that works wonders in attracting moisture to the skin, ultimately resulting in a hydrated, plump, and healthy complexion. Its unique properties allow it to draw water from the environment and lock it into the skin, preventing moisture loss. This process, known as humectancy, helps to maintain the skin's natural moisture balance and keeps it adequately hydrated. As a result, the skin appears more supple, youthful, and radiant. So, if you're looking to achieve that coveted hydrated and healthy skin, glycerin is definitely a must-have in your skincare routine!
