#star wars #the original trilogy #boba fett #darth vader #hi. sorry for star war jumpscare. genuinely #i feel like ive kinda been on an art hiatus lately due to health stuff #i got diagnosed with a parathyroid disease recently (wahoo) so now i know why i have been feeling so bad! need more tests though #anyway. in the mean time most of the entertainment my brain can handle has been like. youtube clip compilations of shows and movies #not even the actual shows or movies. literally just sections of them on youtube #i wish i was joking #the only reason i know what happens in succession is because i have watched it in disjointed order in youtube compilations. not joking #anyway so ive learned a lot more about star wars than i ever. thought i would #mostly just the original trilogy and prequels. some of the old comics & books are interesting too #(sick to my stomach) i like darth vader he has like the same personality as ganondorf except he had no good reason for doing anything #when vader/anakin does literally anything weird or unacceptable it like. makes me laugh so hard its like jerma when he sees a car accident #boba fett’s costume design has been rotating in my head a lot too it’s very good #he’s very colorful and like. matte/unpolished compared to vader and it makes them a cool duo visually #those 2 are my favorites. vader why is the space cowboy the only person aside from sidious or tarkin who is allowed to get mad at you #sidious is my 3rd favorite. he sucks so bad as like a person that you just. you have no expectations of him except just being evil #so its just really funny like everything he does is horrible and he’s so happy all the time like good for him #i’m making it sound like ive never seen star wars before. i have i just never really cared about it until i got an endocrine disorder lmao #but yeah idk art may continue to be slow while im figuring out treatment stuff #if anyone reading this also has or has had hyperparathyroidism im wishing the strength & radiance of 1000 beautiful horses upon you

#australia adventure #i also watched the jurassic world movie for the first time AFTER going to the exhibit #it feels like it Could have been a good movie but the writing is so sexist and i spent too much time yelling EVACUATE THE GUESTS OH MY GOD #chris pratt sucks but they should've made him a horse girl for dinosaurs. that would've fixed it a bit #claire as a character is done so horribly dirty like. she's extremely competent and professional #but the entire narrative is like... portraying her as in the wrong for... being professional? for not being maternal enough?#what kind of moral is 'omggg u just need to let loose' in a movie where a SUPERMURDER DINOSAUR IS OUT OF ITS ENCLOSURE #SHE SHOULD'VE STUCK TO PROTOCOL AND EVACUATED THE PARK IMMEDIATELY!!!!!! Research for an au fic I’m working on: how would Azula act and behave in a modern setting? And I don’t mean re-imagine her character within a modern context and stories. This isn’t Azula, but she’s an overachieving American high schooler with strict and overbearing parents, or Azula, but she’s the soon-to-be CEO of her father’s multinational conglomerate based in Japan or something. No, I mean how would Azula as she is in canon, Fire nation princess and all, act and behave if you simply just took her from her world and plopped her into [insert current year you’re reading this]?

"I should've seen the signs" I feel like Stoick was basically reliving the way he lost Valka.

To him, after a lifetime of wanting nothing but to kill a dragon, Hiccup's suddenly and inexplicably changed his mind. To him, Hiccup saying he can't kill them is just like when Valka refused to and tried convincing others as well, then as a result was 'killed' by one herself.

To him, way Hiccup tossed his weapon and shield to the side then approached Hookfang while speaking about how dragons aren't what people think they are probably bares an uncomfortable resemblance to the way Valka put down her weapon and stared a dragon in the eyes and as a result was taken.

To him, attempting to do anything but preemptively defend yourself against a dragon will only end in tragedy, so he has to do anything he can to stop Hiccup before it's too late.

(And just like with Valka, he unintentionally escalated the situation by trying to protect Hiccup but only agitated the dragon, causing it to panic and react, inadvertently putting someone he loves in danger. again)

Stoick of course, wasn't acting rationally, but it makes sense when you think about how traumatizing Valka's 'death' must've been for him (and how much Hiccup reminss him of her); he watched her get taken, presumably killed, and couldn't do anything about it.

#THE PARALLEL GHSSHRBFK THE PARALLELS #'so everything in the ring was a trick? a lie?' he was so elated when he though hiccup was finally taking after him #he convinced himself so hard that This was the real hiccup he's finnaly going to be a proper viking a real member of the tribe #and he was so proud and glad he finally had something he could connect with his son over #but again he'd convinced himself of all that. he completely ignored everything hiccup had to say #in his eagerness to actually be a Family to actually bond with his child #he was so stuck with this fake image of Hiccup the Dragon Slayer he'd convinced himself of to the point #when it all fell through he felt almost betrayed #betrayed and scared #scared he made a horrible irrational and emotionally charged decision of essentially disowning his son #im not saying stoicks a good parent. hes not. but hes trying and alone and taking care of an entire village as well as hiccup #and all the unprocessed trauma and emotional repression #hes not great but hes not bad either. hes trying.#hes trying and its not enough but at least it got better #i love stoick #parents of autistic kids they dont understand moment #httyd #stoick the vast #stoick haddock #hiccup haddock #valka haddock #httyd analysis #maybe?#hiccup horrendous haddock iii #haddock family #moth.txt #also pls dont tell me abt how valka and the 2nd movie wasnt planned yet. ik that but i like expanding on things #and pondering a characters reasoning for certain decisions bc its fun and makes them all the more fascinating #post rewatch 1am thoughts go crazy (sorry if any of this is like redundant or confusing. im tired) if u read the tags ily

still nutty to me how people's legit trauma from things that main characters do are just swept under the rug or mocked. william kaplan, a thirteen year-old boy who didn't do anything, is killed in a car accident and no one even knows because billy/teen took over his body (i'm not blaming him at all i doubt it was on purpose, but a boy did die and no one knows). sharon davis was roped along to the road, mocked the entire time, killed, and then mocked some more. ralph bohner is the closest we get to someone actually saying "what happened was a nightmare and it fucked me up," but even his story is full of jokes that are only made tragic because evan peters is delivering them in such a way that it's clear that it's because he's that mentally unhinged from what happened. the mcu is a place where people get hurt and are made fun of because they couldn't stop it

#what's crazy is that you could say that of any superhero movoe slash franchise but i don #'t think i've ever seen movies go out of there was to mock and shame the normal people who got hurt #quite like this #it's really mean-spirited #during evan peters bit i was kinda impressed because they were stressing that it was a nightmare what wanda did #but instead of him just going 'agatha made me her personal puppet and made me do horrible things against my will'#he also needed to mention that... he was a bad influence on wanda's kids? why would he care?#aside from just being a better person than literally anyone else #but it felt more like he said that because wanda made herself the main character in everyone's lives #i really don't get it #agatha all along #anti wanda maximoff

There will come a day when Disney makes a live action remake of The Hunchback Of Notre Dame that turns Frollo into a sympathetic misunderstood anti hero and the real villain is Quasimodo's mom or some BS like that.

This will be done in one of two ways

The film will do the most egregious mental gymnastics to excuse and/or downplay Frollo's evil acts. Like in Maleficent 2014.

Frollo will be stripped of every trait that made him Frollo until he only superficially resembles his animated counterpart. Like in Cruella 2021.
