Noticed something weird when watching a making of documentary for Pinocchio.

There’s an image of Walt Disney posing with figurines of the film’s characters. This is a common practice with animation, making models, as it allows the animators to be able to draw a character from every angle.

But one of the statues caught my eye …

That’s Quasimodo! A very common statuette of Quasimodo. Probably a plaster cast from the late nineteenth or early twentieth century like this one:

Why on earth did Walt Disney have it? More importantly, why was it among models of Pinocchio characters?

This was more than fifty years before the Disney company produced an animated adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Man, it's an upcoming scene for The Moonlit Voyage but I had to color this up when I had to chance after writing three pages worth this weekend!

Quasimodo has taken the harsh role of not only a hero, but now the man he was always meant to be becomes stuck in a war that tore his homestead apart - Now on the road as a Woodsman, he did not expect magic to come his way... He's better than any prince any story can offer...
