some rumors i like to believe the twins spread around berk, starting from most normal and getting progressively more and more weird:

snotlout wears heels to make himself taller

fishlegs didn’t write his dragon cards. they just appeared one day

hiccup is a lycanwing

stoicks hair is red from the blood of his enemies

ruffnut doesn’t cut her hair, she just eats it when it gets too long (spread by tuff)

tuffnut has sexual relations with sheep (spread by ruff)

bucket’s bucket that he wears on his head was the very bucket he was born in

mala pegs dagur (no one knows if this is true or not, including the twins)

stoick is actually two very skinny haddocks in a trenchcoat

gobber’s dragon is actually just a really big toad

hiccup meows like a cat when he gets excited

snotlout’s middle name is *cue every single name that starts with a g except for gary*

astrid made up heather to make it seem like she has more friends and everyone else just went along with it (this was the first and only rumor the twins ever spread about astrid)

ruffnut single handedly took down a whole camp of hunters (spread by ruff)

snotlout has to sleep in someone else’s room when there’s a storm (this one’s actually true)

tuffnut beat the scourge of odin three times with no antidote (spread by tuff)

gobber didn’t actually lose his hand and foot, they’re just really small and inside of the hook/peg leg

ruffnut is actually tuffnut, and tuffnut is actually ruffnut, they were switched at birth (the twins didn’t spread this one, they have no clue who did) (it was fishlegs)

fanghook is actually a girl and gustav just uses masculine terminology for her to be more like snotlout

hiccup got eaten by a dragon as a child and that’s why he’s like this

tuffnuts shoved the entire dragon eye up his ass

dagur IS oswald the agreeable, he just needed a way to cover up the fact that he doesn’t age

httyd sketches I’ve compiled from the past couple of days v_v;;) I’ve been learning to draw the dragons and am studying a lot of nico marlet’s art for it…… barf& belch hold a special place in my heart so of course i also had to draw their silly humans. And their silly humans’ fave too. but no one told me the real struggle wld be drawing stoick the vast in all his glory. Omfg. His beard is awesome it’s shaped like a star.

and modern au………..!!!! have been debating this with a friend. toothless is a cat until he is a service dog. do you feel me? and hiccup wears his fishinf get up to his classes after getting up at 4am to help his dad draw in the fish that morning.snug little cozy coastal town that has more secrets than it should. Do you feel me?

Ik I’ve made a post about this before, but pre httyd1 hiccup obsessed with bugs while Stoick is secretly very scared of them but refuses to admit it so he just has to deal with his freak of a son while he makes better friends with bugs than he will ever be with people

the fact that hiccup, despite being taller than the average viking height and tallest in his friend group, is actually still a runt when in the perspective of 'product of his giant parents', is hilarious

httyd2 hiccup: my dad's almost 7 foot it counts ok

also that so he has something intimidating to overcome they keep making the villains massive. these people should be topping out before 6 foot

Does anyone else feel so immensely sorry for Hiccup when rewatching the scene in the second movie where Stoick and Valka are dancing??

Like the poor child never got to enjoy his parents being parents, never snuck down at night and caught his father and mother in the middle of a sweet moment, never heard them laugh together and then smile lovingly in each other's arms, never had the chance to climb in bed with Mom and Dad after a nightmare, never went to just enjoy a nice fire on a cold day, sitting between them.

And Hiccup, in this scene, is smiling so joyfully because he's happy for both of them. And he's happy that his family is whole again. Happy to see his dad so happy. Happy to feel like he has a mother and a father, happy to share such a special moment he's never been a part of before.

Like, can I just...sob? Am I allowed to sob sad tears at a scene that's supposed to be happy?

Is it just me?

Since it's Valentine's Day today, I think we should all take a moment to appreciate the wonderful couples in HTTYD!!!

Hiccup and Astrid, Valka and Stoick, and Eret and Snotlout (yes i know they're not canon, but they're canon in my heart) (+ any others i forgot)

They truly are the pinnacle of relationship goals. LIKE WHAT THE HELL IS "I can't imagine a world without you." or "You're as beautiful as the day I lost you..."

can we talk about the fact that stoick saying “i did this” (near the end of httyd 1 after hiccup and toothless defeated the red death and stoick thought hiccup had died) directly parallels hiccup saying “i did this” (near the beginning of httyd 1 when hiccup finds toothless after he shot him down)

Controversial Httyd opinion:

The only thing that kept Valka from being treated like a witch, and Hiccup from being drowned at birth and or exiled was Stoick. Heck Stoick's right hand man and confident/only person allowed to question him was Gobber, a gay man! I don't think Stoick really truly has a problem with Hiccup being different. Stoick continues to surround himself and love people who are different. I think what really made him the way he is in the first movie was the pressures of being Chief and losing Valka. This fear that the village doesn't respect/hates Hiccup, mixed with the fear of losing the last bit of family he has left to the same monsters that took his wife. So he becomes obessesed with his son needing to fit in, be like everyone else for Hiccup's own safety. From the flashbacks we saw of baby Hiccup and Stoick, he and Hiccup had a good relationship. It's just eventually the village's criticism and fear, plus the dragon attacks filled Stoick with fear and need to over protect his son.
