They would have been so fun if they were allowed to be a family after httyd2🙏 context to this is that he was upset and shutting off from people so they be silly to cheer him up

People give Valka a lot of shit which makes me sad bc her flaws are what make her interesting, and I LOVE thinking about her character.

Like, Have we considered how she had Hiccup at 20 and was married before that? Have we considered that, though she was in love with Stoick, marrying the Chief (or soon-to-be-chief) is a lot of responsibility? Have we considered how young 20 is and Hiccup takes after her in so many ways, not feeling ready for responsibility or wanting to settle down could be one of them? Have we considered she deliberately didn't come back because she maybe felt she wasn't ready to be a mother? Have we considered she loves Hiccup and Stoick so dearly but needed to live her own life? Have we considered how bittersweet the reunion really was because she realized she missed her chance to actually be a mother and how much the guilt of not coming back must've weighed on her?

And Valka is around......somewhere...... in Xadia.......

When she still lived in Berk she believed that peace was possible with the elves and dragons and did everything she could to convince anyone that they were not bloodthirsty monsters they had to fight. But of course no one believed her.

And so when she got taken by a dragon, after defending it and saving it's life during a raid, she figured that maybe Berk was hopeless and decided to stay in Xadia. (is this a flawed decision?? oh 100%. This action will have consequences in the future ;D)

And now 18 years later, she lives in the Uncharted Forest, helping and healing injured creatures and dragons and giving them a safe haven to reside in. She doesn't get many visitors, mainly because of the boundary spells that are set around her home, but she does get visits from her Sunfire elf friend who drops by from time to time to fill her in on things and ask for her help.

Recently though he's been trying to figure out what's been causing a corruption in the creatures of the region, and asked for her to keep an eye out for anything strange. Aside from that, the only other news Sandy has to share is that there's been a Sunfire elf terrorizing Berk. How strange. :)

LOVE your Arcane Beast Stoick Au! Do you think Hiccup would find a way to reverse his father back to human form? What would be Beast!Stoick’s reaction towards Valka?

Thank you so much for the ask!!! I love the beast from beyond the grave au so much and honestly I need to draw more of it.

There is no way to reverse him back to normal. Stoick’s body was entirely pulled apart and put back together by the mysterious someone who found his corpse. So this is him, forever.

And his reaction towards Valka is less than friendly. He won’t outright attack her since he can tell that she’s related to Hiccup, but because she was gone for 20 years with only a brief reunion before his death, he doesn’t hold any recent memories of her. So he tolerates her, without much other thought about it. The only people Stoick is cool with are Hiccup and Gobber.

she couldn't even kill a dragon, always finding those rather interesting to watch than fearing them

but somehow he loved her with all of his heart, especially for those strange parts of her soul...

Valka's expressions in the httyd 2 storyboards are sooo amazing just look at herrrr she's so happy to share everything she knows with Hiccup and it's absolutely beautiful

I am such a sucker for these moments like she's so excited that she has something in common with her son and gets to share that with him despite all those years apart
