I just woke up from a super weird dream. Dropping it here before going back to sleep:

In the dream, my best friend called me and told me "dude there's this super strange short horror film on YouTube that just came out, you gotta see this. So I go on YouTube and look it up, and it had the perfect casting (like it was just missing Catherine Tate and Alex Kingston honestly) (I'll reveal the cast as the story unfolds): the short film starts with Christopher Eccleston as a middle-aged tired man in a hotel room. He's watching TV or something when suddenly, there's a sound from the bathroom, like a distant music played by an orchestra (like a band of Mariachi I think). So he gets up to go to check it out and the scene stops there. Then, in the next scene, we can see Olivia Colman who plays Christopher Eccleston's wife. She's in the same hotel room as her husband and seems kind of worried because she hasn't heard from him in a while. She starts hearing the Mariachi Band in the bathroom but she doesn't check it out (very sensible of her if I may). Instead she calls her good friend, played by David Tennant, with whom she has a sexual relationship (like I think she was in an open relationship with her husband or something) and David Tennant's character arrives and they have sex (brain kept it pg). Then, they hear the Mariachi Band again. Next scene, a character played by Michael Sheen arrives in the room with them. I don't remember exactly who he played, either their friend or David Tennant's husband, but he's there with them and they tell him about the music. And it starts again, the music in the bathroom. So David's character gets up to see, with, right behind him, Michael Sheen's and behind him Olivia Colman's. David almost reaches the bathroom when Michael's eyes turn fully white and his head falls to the side, like he's possessed. But it is shot at an angle where you see all the characters faces, but David has his back to Michael, and Michael has his back to Olivia, so no one except for the people watching the film knows what's going on with Michael. David keeps approaching the bathroom, the music continues, and boom, I put on pause. Cause I'm scared. I'm still on the phone with my best friend and I ask if she's still there. The call hasn't ended... But she's gone.

Aaaand then I woke up dehydrated and needing to pee and it took me ten minutes to gather the courage to get up :) part of me wishes I could have seen the end of the dream, seen what happens next, but then I'm also thinking how hard it would have been to get up to pee if I had lmao cause wtf was up with that bathroom

*clears throat* Can we just talk about how unfair it was that Cordelia was the one who got to kill Tatiana? Like there were a million other people who were way more qualified.

I’m pretty sure most people, like me, were rooting for Grace. After all, she was the one that Tatiana hurt most by physically abusing her, making her into a weapon, forcing her to brainwash James which made everyone she cares about mad at her, etc. Not to mention that Christopher, one of her only friends, the only person who defended her, and the one who encouraged her to pursue her passion for science, had just been MURDERED by Tatiana! And like, Grace was RIGHT THERE with a knife to Tatiana’s throat! Then CORDELIA had to come and ruin everything by summoning Lillith! WTF!?

Jesse was another person who had been hurt by Tatiana. This bitch, who he thought cared about him despite her flaws, as a mother should, SOLD HIM TO BELIAL so he could be possessed and forced to murder people which he would never do under any circumstances of his own free will! The guilt the poor boy must have gone through because of this bitch! Although personally, I don’t think he would be capable of murder, but it would have been better than fucking CORDELIA.

Also, the idea of either Jesse or Grace doing it to avenge their sibling? 😭

My second choice after Grace would be Lucie, who would be furious both because of Jesse being possessed, and because she had just found out that Tatiana had been the one to ruin James and Cordelia’s marriage, causing both her brother and parabatai a lot of pain. It would have set the scene for a fascinating conversation between her and Jesse regarding how they both felt about Tatiana’s death (the same is true for Grace) because I need more Ghostwriter scenes. Also, if she killed her partially on Grace’s behalf, it would better showcase what could have been a beautiful dynamic that desperately needs to be explored further. I need these too to become besties immediately! Lucie, unlike her boyfriend, totally deserved to be a morally ambiguous character. She had so much potential for stabbiness, so where’s all the stabbiness? It’s so unfair that she never gets to stab someone ONCE because she’s a main character and therefore needs to be morally perfect even though people who grew as rich as she did are the ones most likely to be evil. Besides, she could have ordered a ghost to do it while Lucie herself was far away, giving her an alibi, and any witnesses would not have seen the ghost. Honestly my preference would be if Lucie and Grace teamed up to do it together in Jesse’s name.

EVEN FUCKING JAMES a would have been a better option, not that I would like it much. He was the one who was brainwashed since he was fourteen after all. He was the one who kept on accidentally breaking his wife’s heart because of the gracelet.

While Cordelia was still hurt by Tatiana’s actions, she was farther removed from the situation. But because sHe’S tHe PrOtAgOnIsT, she had to be the one to do it. Not even of her own volition, but because she was being manipulated by a greater demon. Imagine all of your protagonists being so heroic and morally sound that they can’t even neutralize someone as twisted and dangerous and inhumane and this bitch without being physically magically controlled by Lillith herself. Is there anything more boring?

And what really makes me angry is that she finally gave in due to the death of one Christopher Lightwood, a character with whom she had no established dynamic. If this was CC’s plan all along, she could have made it so they had at least one single fucking conversation alone??? If the main catalyst for Tatiana’s death was Kit’s murder, then practically ANY OTHER CHARACTER a would have been better. Cecily and Gabriel and the others were in Idris but, once again, there’s Grace, Lucie, James, Thomas, Anna, Matthew, etc. Hell, even Rosamund Wentworth, who arrives pretty soon after Kit’s death, knew him longer than Cordelia!

My thoughts so far on HS2 LI routes

Andy/Loy: uhhh yeah..... These 2 are by far the worst obviously. Absolutely terrible to kill them off and then let Vicky just forget about them? No. It's why it took me so long to try the other routes in HS2, I couldn't get over how Alisa killed off Andy in my first playthrough.

Dino: I think most of his route makes sense. His character is the most consistent with HS1, although he appears weaker at times. But this can be forgiven because of the whole situation. At the start he's obviously super conflicted, he tries to take care of Vicky and his relationship has a nice build-up. The family time, while awkward obviously with Fencio, makes sense. The suicide scene makes sense with how he reacts to Vicky stabbing herself. The wedding is obviously something he's been working towards in his head for ages and it fits their relationship.

Lucifer: honestly..... I hate to say this but HS2 made me hate Luci? To me he was second-best in HS1, so to now suddenly hate him is a big step. He lays it on too thick in the beginning with Plague, but he does come around eventually. The family time is weird but still not completely bizarre. The time in hell was super weird. This is where his character as I understood it was completely assassinated. The suicide scene is fine. The wedding came out of nowhere to be honest, and it felt super forced how lovey-dovey he was suddenly being.

Malbonte: I think the beginning was very rough. But at some point he suddenly goes from 0 to 60, and it's left me with whiplash. Vicky makes ZERO SENSE in his route. Like why has she never figured out that after wanting to kill one god, he'll obviously also want to kill the other?? After 10 years sleeping together and waking up together? Like wtffff. The family time can go die in a fire, it was that terrible and weird. I hate Rebecca on Malbonte's route even more than I already do! The suicide scene makes ZERO sense, again.... Why the fuck is Malbonte suddenly powerless? It was like the suicide scene had to happen so everyone was forced into it whether they fit or not. How did he think it was going to work out to have all of them die and.... Not defeat Shephamalum? I mean who would be left to do it? So bizarre. I don't even want to acknowledge the build-up to the wedding, like wtf?? Suddenly Malbonte is some lovey-dovey doting husband and partner? Whattttt? I just don't even think they're the same character anymore! The wedding however made up for it, that was pretty good.

Astaroth: was he one of the added LIs? Holy retcon.... Still it was an enjoyable route and with proper fleshed out scenes it could have been amazing. Wasted on this book tbh. The family time was pretty sweet with Christopher there but Rebecca is insufferable... The suicide scene was nice and angsty. The wedding was lovely, and I loved that the wedding speech was given by Christopher and we didn't have to listen to that witch again.

Hunger: actually such a wholesome route... If Malbonte hadn't improved so drastically, I would be tempted to choose him as my favourite. The family time was absolutely horrendous like wtf, but at least it made some sense... The suicide scene made some sense too, since Hunger was apparently not aware of what was going to happen. The wedding was weird AF but loved Hunger's reaction to everything.

War: sorry I despise his cardboard character and his sprite is super ugly to me so.... Won't be playing his route. 😬

Well I just watched episode 6 of season 8 and just wow. I have to watch it again. And maybe again to understand wtf I just saw.

There’s a lot of stupidity behind the scenes and with some wacky fans and social media regarding Temu,, Ryan and Oliver.

Listen you fools the Tim and the writers have this planned for a very long time. As soon as Abby said her ex’s name was Tommy that’s when. As soon as we saw Tommy at the 118 before Cap Nash I knew.

People get a lot of things correct with observation, but I think people also read into things as well.

Also what flashback season is everyone talking about? There wasn’t one.

I still believe that marketing folks are on social media to move things along.

I thinks it’s so strange that people want certain characters to be together so much, they start attacking the actor who ends up being the love interest. Or thinks it’s the lead actors faults who becomes a regular.

This show represents everyone. It makes us feel good about a bunch of folks despite their difficulties show up for strangers and each other every day.

I couldn’t understand the story about the various married couples correlating to what’s happening. I usually can.

Also why was there a scene with Nash telling Chimney to stop reporting what’s happening on the roof. lol.

I did understand the siblings with the pipe and how it the story in with the Han family.

Then we see Eddie with the priest. Side note, it’s nice to see the hot priest again. I always thought he was when he used to counsel Captain Bobby Nash. I feel like I have to say his characters full name sometimes because he gets called by all three names. Any way, wow that’s two side notes. Sorry.

Eddie is very upset and honestly he has been for a very long time but having Christopher live with his parents just sent him over the edge. He’s had to give so much of himself he doesn’t know who he is. He denies himself joy because he truly believes he doesn’t believe it. It breaks my heart. I only see goodness when I look at him. I mean yes he’s beautiful to look at, but his heart is blinding. It really upsets me how he doesn’t care for himself. How he denies himself. How he puts himself last.

Then the scene with the lady at the bar interruption Tommy and Buck’s dinner. Was that only so we know how long they’ve been dating?

There were so many interesting things brought up. Eddie thought he was being hit on. The priest kept saying don’t sent yourself. And that thought has never crossed this man’s mind. To be selfish. He became the man of rhetoric family at such a young age when his dad had to go on business trips. He helped his mother who went into labor. he married his first love when she became pregnant. He went into the military to support them. I felt bad for Shannon being stuck with Eddie’s family. His parents are a lot. They are selfish and self serving. He even moved to her state on the chance he would find her.

Then the line about the LAFD can’t have beards, which leads me to Tommy. Whose beard was Abby. Yep, Buck’s ex Abby. Yes, Buck dated both Abby and Tommy. I don’t like how Tommy took back the Himbo comment because he didn’t realise it was Buck. But Tommy hurt Abby so why does he care who she dated? I get he was closeted and all. But why care that she moved on? And if Abby is half Buck’s age, isn’t Buck also half of Tommy’s age.

And Josh educates Buck a little bit on Gay history. How lucky that Buck is to be out now.

Then Tommy dumps Buck or Himbo because he feels Buck will eventually dump him? I believe in the back of his mind he knows Buck and Eddie belong together. I’m curious if he and Eddie will could time to hang out.

Buck was just stunned when he showed up to Eddie’s house. A clean face, trouserless Eddie opens the door and Buck just goes with it.

I don’t think their coming together will happen this year. But I really hope I’m wrong.

They are a family. They are there for one another. They comfort one another. They scrape away the earth for one another, they climb ladders without protection device for one another, they look houses and hours in danger for one another’s child. They just have denied themselves that the other one is their person.

I thought it was really interesting how their personalities switched up also, how normally moody Eddie became moody Buck. And how joy filled Buck became joy filled Eddie.

It is going to be so interesting seeing how feelings are realized and relationships will change.

It’s interesting in the three wordless scenes Buck and Eddie had together the last scene spoke volumes.

I knew they wouldn’t make a big fan fare about this. It was very subtle. I love how they normalized it. As it should be.

Is everyone implying there will be gay love interests on Hot Shots. Oh god does this mean we have to see the racist captain again?

Know what time it is? That's right! Time for my daily post about Eddie's panic attacks!! (Those scenes haunt me, blogging is free therapy, deal with it or don't!)

Ahem. The more I think about Eddie's panic attacks the more I think they're triggered by his feelings for Buck, and not just the one-sided relationship with Ana.

Like the scene at the fire station. The way Eddie's focus drifts to Buck again and again. Eddie is realizing that he's got a Buck-induced daydreaming & staring problem right when Ravi assumes that Eddie is married to Ana... And then Eddie looks at Buck who is grinning at the the assumption, like the idea of Eddie marrying Ana doesn't bother Buck at all.

Can you imagine how hopelessly one-sided Eddie must think his feelings are?!!! That would certainly trigger panic, to be facing those feelings AND the reality of how much his relationship with Ana is a failure.

Then Eddie runs away... and then same person who was triggering the panic wants to know what triggered the panic! What can Eddie say? It certainly wouldn't be easy to just honestly explain what just happened. "Oh yeah I just realised I have feelings for you and it's totally hopeless." So Eddie avoids that by lying/telling a half-truth - that the trigger was Ana.

The way he kinda pauses after he says that "if I'm being honest with myself..."? The pause could be hesitation to open up, but it feels to me like he's just pausing to come up with an alternative explanation, or a half-truth, because it's not like he would want to tell Buck that hey, I just realised I have a staring problem when it comes to you and to realise that while you were standing there, seeing me with my girlfriend, or maybe future wife, not showing a hint of jealousy... Yeah that's what made me spiral!

Anyway, the great thing about being honest with oneself is that it can be done without saying a word.

It's when you're honest with others, that's when you need to say things out loud. So Eddie can totally be honest with himself and right after that... lie to Buck about what caused the panic.

Buck: Okay... what triggered it? I mean you did just get shot and almost killed by a sniper, I guess that could be considered anxiety-inducing...

Eddie: That wasn't it! Okay I.. If I'm being honest with myself... uh..

(Let's have a flashback, and this isn't even where it starts btw, first Eddie and Buck hug Chris pretty much in an identical fashion, it's the aerial dad hug, Eddie stares at Buck talking with Chris, talking with Ravi, spaces out wearing a giddy grin... Anyway!)

Christopher: Not yet! 😉,

Eddie and Ana reacting to the idea of marriage (and Chris expecting them to marry) like their very souls are instantly withering:

Buck and Ravi reacting to "Not YET (his wife)!":

Eddie turns a bit towards Ana when she says that.

Shuts his eyes and opens them like he's trying to reboot his brain.

Eddie: You've never been here!

Ana: (wtf?) ... No, I haven't.

Eddie tells Ravi to give Ana a tour, really tries to avoid looking at Buck again,

FAILS,

freaks out and escapes...

- end of rewind -

Eddie about the cause of panic:

"If I'm being honest with myself... *pause*

I think it was Ana."

Buck: Uh.. I thought things were great with her.

(And then let's remember that right after the shooting Buck and Carla were actually the ones taking care of Christopher!! We see Chris with Buck anxiously waiting for news about Eddie's surgery, Buck breaking down in front of Chris...

We see Carla and Chris video-call Eddie:

Chris: Dad. I miss you.

Eddie: I miss you too. I'm gonna see you real soon. I'll be home before you know it.

Carla: Let yourself heal first, PLEASE! You don't have anything to worry about, Buck and I have it under control.

They end the call, Buck is by Eddie's bedside.

Eddie: I appreciate you staying with him.

Buck: Carla offered to bring him to her house but I figured this was overwhelming enough without having to sleep in a strange bed.

Eddie: He doing okay?

Buck: Better than me. I kinda lost it when I told him you got shot. I'm sorry, I should have held it together.

Eddie: You were there for him when I couldn't be. That's that matters.

Buck: Still. I think it might have been better for him if I was the one who got shot.

Eddie: 😨

...

Of course soon after that Eddie reveals Buck that Buck is Christopher's legal guardian in Eddie's will!

....

So it's quite obvious that it was mostly Carla and BUCK, not Ana, who were parenting Christopher after the shooting. Buck is even legally Christopher's guardian in Eddie's will.

So when Eddie starts talking about the way that being a ready-made family with Ana is what was making him panic, it really sounds like a half-truth. Like he's just switching the pronoun to she and actually talking about Buck.

Eddie: She's been a godsend through all of this. Staying with Christopher... I think that's what's causing the panic. Somehow we became a readymade family and I... I don't know if I'm ready for that.

He's literally looking at Buck as he says "Somehow we became a ready-made family and I don't know if I'm ready for that.

And how could Eddie be ready for that? He's somehow ended up in a situation where he's got a girlfriend he doesn't love and is acting like a family with her...

AND ALSO pretty much parenting his son with Buck, like they're a family, like they're partners...

Even when Eddie goes on dates with Ana he's coming home to Chris and Buck.

But Buck doesn't know how Eddie feels about him and does not appear to return his feelings. To realise all that would certainly make Eddie freak out, no wonder he says that he doesn't know if he's ready for that.

Buck's pained/conflicted expression after Eddie talks about a ready-made family says a lot.

Also there's the way that Eddie is trying to decide if he should break up with Ana, and Buck tries to get him to understand that the the relationship is hurting Ana.

"Eddie, I have been Ana. I know what it's like to be in love with someone who's not all the way in. Deep down you know it, and it hurts. It hurts worse than the truth. So if you don't want to hurt Ana you owe it to her to be honest."

And it's really a messy situation Eddie finds himself in, right?! Ana is in love with someone who's not all the way in. Eddie's in love with someone who's not all the way in... and that person is actually even giving him relationship advice!

Eddie getting anxious again: It just feels like a lot, man. *lies down*

Buck retorts, almost disgusted,

"Well, go to sleep! No need to decide right now, it's not like we're going home anytime soon." *leaves*

And there's Eddie, trying to decide between his two almost-perfect - yet painful - ready-made families. Even as he's deciding Buck's last words must keep ringing in his ears.

"...It's not like we're going home anytime soon."

Which is painfully true because even without Ana in the picture the ready-made family he has with Buck and Chris is kinda an illusion which shatters if you try to touch it. Buck is parenting Chris, he is their family... But Eddie's not dating Buck. Buck doesn't know how Eddie feels, and does not appear interested. Buck only visits but never stays for long. Buck has his own life, his own home.

Sip or spit, everything is a reminder that he has always been messy. In fairness, a lot of people are in the same (messy) boat. He’s not unique in that regard.

Given his previous alleged behavior, none of us should have been shocked by what we’ve seen from him in the last 3 years, starting with the London pap walk. (Happy Anniversary to that ‘WTF r u doing Christopher’ moment. 😑) It’s all par for the course as far as I’m concerned.

I hope he is enjoying the silence after deactivating his SM (the smartest move he has made in years).

It was wonderfully fun to have a break yesterday from all the fandom drama. If anyone still has old IMDB board memories, please, keep sending them in! I'll keep using the "bottle girl gossip" tag even if it veers from bottle girls, just so we can always find it.

Honestly, though, how messy was he? Tons of young celebs were doing far worse in the aughts. Remember all of Lindsey Lohan's arrests? Or poor Britney's head-shaving, umbrella wielding breakdown? Mostly, he just got drunk and acted like any young man in his 20s, maybe just with some Hollywood veneer thrown in. He wasn't clubbing in Ibiza at the drop of a hat, or showing up at the birthday parties of Russian oligarchs. Honestly, most of his "mess" from then is pretty normal, vanilla, and almost quaint.
