They very helpfully failed to mention in the labor and delivery class how fucking painful induction can be. They said discomfort.

Bitch, I blacked out twice from the pain of the cervical balloon and that was with nitrous. It hurt more than my 7.5 pound baby tearing a two and a half inch hole in my vagina and perineal wall.

That is not discomfort. Discomfort is a hang nail. That was agony.

the thing is like. i get that it's scary and makes people who do desire to get pregnant uncomfortable when we talk about the brutality and violence of pregnancy and the damage that pregnancy can do to your body

but you deserve to give informed consent to that process.

the lies around pregnancy - that it's inherently safe, that it doesn't do you permanent damage, that it's only extremely rare for people to die of pregnancy complications, etc like

all of these are lies constructed so that more people will get pregnant w/o knowing all that

there needs to be more talk about the impact of miscarriages and how common they are, how different abortion processes are and how accessible they are

but also like. talking about how pregnancy fucks your body up should not be taboo

this is a process that permanently changes most people's bodies, and that's even if the pregnancy doesn't do them like. severe illness or injury

and i just think everybody should have a right to KNOW that

bc to live in a society that intentionally obscures and hides facts about a completely optional and dangerous process does so for a reason, and that reason is based in a very sinister ideology that does not value bodily autonomy or informed consent

Y'all. I fucked up my hip last night. Not little normal fuck up, but big fuck up like almost go to the hospital because my dumb ass was on the floor fuck up.

What did I do, you ask?

I got water out of the fridge to take my pills and rotated the joint just wrong so it popped out of place and didn't go back in like it normally does (the curse of hypermobility). Cue blinding flash of pain and me on the floor passing out multiple times because after that initial surge of pain, I felt shit all till I made it downstairs into bed and got things popped back into place.

And now I'm in marginal discomfort, but the joint is load bearing so long as I don't twist it.

I've never felt a 10/10 on the pain scale before now and I hope to God I never do again. It is the worst feeling ever. Your brain literally shorts out everything past a point so you can't feel it. Apparently, I told my father, "That smarts a little," between times passing out and collapsing against him before I managed to get regulated.

Aether being the first to take care of anyone when they get the flu because they trust him the most.

Mountain making his nest comfortable enough for all his mates needs incase they want to join him while he hibernates.

Dew pulling them to himself once they get back to the abbey either after outside duties or being in town and cranking up his element so he can warm them up.

Rain making sure they’re all wearing their jackets and coats before they head out and buttoning them for those who need help.

Ifirit lighting the large fireplace in the Ghouls den and gathering everyone from the pile being especially careful with Zephyr when helping them in.

Aurora making everyone coffee,tea or hot chocolate depending on their preference and always making sure she’s mindful of everyone’s dietary needs and allergies.
