based on an idea @username8746489 had where sylvie discovered nightmare fuel for the first time on accident while getting bullied by some older kids (and pushing him further into social isolation now that he's known as "that scary kid who could summon someone's worst fear")
#♦️charlie's art#epithet erased#sylvester ashling#sylvie ashling#ok i have a lot to yap about here hold on#this was a challenge to make since i was imagining it with no dialogue and limited colors i hope i pulled it off#because of those two things something i had to think a lot about was how the color progression changes the mood#I wasn't originally gonna add that last panel with the aftermath but un suggested the idea of the bullies being vague shadowy figures#initially until sylvie realizes what he did and is forced to see that “that was a real person with their own fears and insecurities”#so then they're drawn more detailed#sylvie and the bullies also aren't in the same panels together until the last one because he's just so below them that he isnt worthy of#sharing equal space with them. these kids are highschoolers. if sylvie wants to look at them he'll always have to look up#and also because i was struggling with their height difference#i hope the second page doesn't make it look too much like sylvie summoned a fire 😭 it kinda helps with the mood but what he summoned is#supposed to be ambiguous and i dont want it to look like i was born yesterday and think nightmare fuel ONLY summone fire#but its hard to make it NOT look like fire when i can only work with orange#the lineart starts out clean and gets messier as the conflict progresses to represent a lack of control#and also it creates kind of a shakey/unstable effect which emphasizes sylvie's fear#also unintentional but i think the second page having detailed shading emphasizes the mood changes. this just got SERIOUS#oh also i used the mizu5 untrained as a color reference thats fun#ALSO SYLVIE DIDN'T KILL ANYONE im just realizing the one curled up in the last panel could be interpreted that way#that's not what i was going for#this might be unrealistic...... but we also know so little about sylvie's backstory that who's to say for sure IDK LET ME MAKE MY FAV SUFFER

holy shit i just got a "jesus saves" lecture from the lab nurse. took me by surprise because i've seen her many times before and she was always very nice and only asked a few respectful questions about the whole trans situation. like geez maam i thought we were cool!!
#she ambushed me asking about my family and idk why i didnt think of lying as an option#so i said i didnt really have much contact with my family anymore#and she kept pushing for more info and then “strongly advised me to read the bible and put my faith in jesus christ like herself”#and i was like maam i was raised catholic i can tell you i have read the bible.#and she IGNORED ALL CUES on PURPOSE (??) and kept telling me about how we were made just and holy by jesus dying for us#like where are we??? what's going on????#she usually is careful but fast because it's her job but like she forcefully kept me here with a needle in my arm & physically holding me#long after the blood sampler had been drawn (highly unusual!!!!) to force me to stay here and attend her jesus saves! lecture#at some point i feared she wouldnt let me go at all until i said i would go back to church lol#what is this????????#also i am pretty sure the receptionists were gossiping nastily about me in the waiting room. i may be paranoid#but they were shooting nasty glances in my direction (i was the only patient in the waiting room) and they were whispering between#themselves the whole time and one of them (who'd already been nasty to me re: trans stuff but not outwardly) glared at me#i think i caught something that sounded like “no it *is* weird and were it up to me...” while they looked at me#like once again i may be paranoid and let my inner bullied student speak but.... the combination was. weird#ive never had a problem here before! you'll tell me this is not an actual problem like nobody beat me up or anything and i'll agree ofc#but. still

my sweet little baby man is no longer with us
#he had his bloodwork done yesterday and the vet said it was fine but he doesnt have much time left#and my bestie is a vet tech who wanted to see the lab results bc she always does and she looked at them#and asked me if she can shiw them to her boss today and i was like sure and immediately knew something was up#today keekki was being himself#then i went to run some errands and when i came back he was laying in front of the front door with his tiny baby head against it#and i was like ''oh ok one of his seizures?''#and theyre like. keekki will drool and not move and they usually last for like 20 minutes (several vets have no idea whats up with those#but it was probably either a kidney or a blood pressure thing)#anyways. it did not pass in 20 minutes so i Knew#i laid on the floor next to him#then my bff sent me a message asking me if i have the time to talk about keekki and its not good news#at this point i was about to call the vet anyways#and she was like ''ok i showed these to my boss (a vet) and she got super angry that ur vet even let you leave the clinic''#bc apparently keekkis bloodwork was so bad he should have been put down then and there but my vet was like a fresh half graduate#so i dont hold it against her. anyways i got an euthanasia appointment for this evening and spent the time before it laying on the couch#crying with keekki in my arms#i had to carry him bc he couldnt really walk without stumbling and falling down#when i had to get up to get his carrier and stuff ready he was taking a nap on the couch where i left him and i took this pic#anyways worst vet visit of my life i could hardly even do anything but nod half the time bc speaking results in me sobbing#anyways. this fucking sucks#i dont know how ill be able to sleep tonight#its been years since i last slept at home without having a little guy plop into my arms#i spent a long time with him in the vet room when he was gone#it feels surreal ive given him his last ever forehead kisses#as i left the room i told him bye the exact same way ive been saying bye to him for the last very many years ive had him#its always moikka keekki before i go to work or the store or literally anything#and that was my last moikka keekki#i hope he felt how loved he was#my dad is sending me older pics of me and keekki and he looks so happy in them. hes always right next to me#idk man im going to stop rambling now

IT'S OK THO we got it done :3#neways these tie into some headcanons of mine so i'm gonna share 'em here#mainly i hc them having little ways where they just look out for each other#komaeda is usually the only one who can convince hinata to take a goddamn break without having to forcefully drag him away from his work#bc hinata does NOT take enough breaks. and he does not listen to reason#until there is a komaeda who is tired and can't go to sleep without his human teddy bear :((( can't let him go to bed aloneeee#n i think hinata just. casually feeds komaeda ALL the time#bc he won't eat enough on his own. and if you offer him food he'll be inclined to see it as a nicety and try to reject it#but if you just. Put Food In Front Of His Mouth. he'll eat it#it's kind of a reflex like komaeda doesn't realize he's being fed most of the time#they take care of each other bc they won't take care of themselves otherwise lmao. it's a little dysfunctional but they're trying#i think once they've recovered enough to be able to just enjoy each other's company they get REALLY really giggly#they have a lot of teenage/young adult love stuff to catch up on and since they didn't really have a puppy love phase. they laugh a lot#they'll try to do something tender or sweet but then one of them will start to laugh. and then it's not long before the other breaks#komaeda usually breaks first. bc he's always in awe of just how happy he is. bc he never thought he COULD be this happy#not without hell looming just over the horizon anyways#when hinata breaks first it's bc he's thinking of how much they've both been through and put each other through#and he's just sort of like 'how the fuck did we end up here'#(btw komaeda snorts when he's trying not to laugh. this is just fact trust me)#OH AND I HAVE MANY HEADCANONS ABT THEIR SLEEP STUFFS#as stated hinata runs hot and komaeda runs cold. but ALSO#hinata's a sprawler. komaeda gets Clingy. it works out for them tho#if komaeda doesn't have hinata to hold like a body pillow he'll curl into the tightest little ball. it gives him back pain lmao#oh and yes. they absolutely wake up with their legs incredibly tangled together

#emily talks#had my big end of internship presentation for everyone at the school + my supervisor at the uni#and it went so well and i'm really happy about it#HOWEVER my stupid brain will just not let go of something that didn't even have to do w the presentation itself#like literally my supervisor and my boss were talking about “german kebab” sold at lidl in the uk and how silly that was and i brought up#that that's because of kebab as we usually eat it in germany being invented in germany by turkish immigrants etc#my supervisor (greek) looks me dead in the eyes and says hold it right there. you know they ate kebab in turkey long long before that right#like i KNOW but that's not what i MEANT and i know i'm actually right about what i was talking about. i googled it afterwards#i know it's so irrational and he probably doesn't even remember but that split second of him thinking i was dumb as shit#would not leave my brain even though everything else went so well#and i just hate that even though my rational brain is done w my anxiety's shit my anxious brain just won't let it go
