Fanfic prompt: The timeline is split into three ,right ?

One where twilight comes from

One where time went to get milk and never returned being wind's

And one where legend comes from

And you know what would be absolutely hilarious

If Time married sheik in legend's timeline and therefore legend is related to him

Which would make him Malon's step grand child

And Inter dimensional step siblings with twilight

Because the potential for crack is enormous

Like their relationship would be so weird

Malon accepted him without hesitation because it’s a weird time traveler thing and obviously a different time made a different decision

But explaining that to her was something that time had no idea how to even start with that mess

Legend is incredibly awkward because he more or less is imposing on the family

(And his family never wanted him anyway so why does this one do when he is nothing but a slanderous bastard to their family and name

He isn’t a Lon Lon nor is he even part of his ancestor’s family he literally was hidden like a dirty secret for most of his life… so why?)

But time figures it out anyway

It is genuinely painful for legend to know that he was wanted by his ancestor

Because his present family didn’t

But everyone just accepts him like he deserves to and it doesn’t make sense

Malon took a single look at the sad face and decided that one is hers as well

And wind too

(Talon has no idea what is going on but if Malon decided that those kids are hers he will just be supportive)

Time feels bad because he wasn’t there for legend

Twilight and Legend are both confused by the timeline

Twilight just accepted him because one half sibling still is better then no family so he doesn’t even dare to be weird about it)

I’ve been seeing so much Brasil from the olympics in my dash so I figured I’d check out how my country is doing and hey! Tenth place with 6 gold! Not bad!

Then upon checking the breakdown of that I found out that Germany is just horsegirl country supreme, apparently, with half our golds from equestrian

Like how it is implied that time exists because legend saved him with his wish in link to the past

But like it seemed nice at first that he saved a Random hero of the past who failed

But if We consider the four swords palace

What if the wish to save the hero of the past was actually intended for four but time was saved instead by it creating a new timeline

For the hero of time to succeed in and later create a new one as well when he traveled back to prevent ganondorf's plan from ever happening

And that ultimately doomed four to forever remain the four swords' shade doomed to be corrupted by the darkness until the hero of legends put him out of his misery as a fractured broken soul

The hero of Legends wished on the past hero's success

A gift to stop suffering he personally had been forced to take out of its misery

And during linked universe time finding out that his survival was the thing that broke the timeline in the first place

Not his time travel

Just his existence alone

An existence that was a mistake

Never meant to exist

Intended for another being

A salvation he took like a greedy parasite

A chance to live he took from someone else

He wasn’t meant to be

Yet he took this one chance from four not to suffer

He was granted a gift from the benevolent hero of legends by accident and but that mistake costed another being everything

And then even went and doomed another timeline by abandoning the timeline he succeed in

Every single timeline he created proves that his existence is a curse

The timeline he abandoned was left to rot swept away by a wave formed because of his inability

The timeline he thought he did everything right…

Ended up being harmed by his failure to fully defeat ganondorf

He was naive for not killing ganon when he said everything against the man

Twilight fought because of his mistakes

Even losing and dying ended up having consequences for he took a gift

A gift was wasted on him just because he existed

He only lived to make more mistakes because another hero’s wish was wasted on HIM

Does it mean that every failure to stop the moon resulted in another timeline wasting away

Should he even have existed?

Because that present wasn’t for him

His existence ruined legend's sacred wish for a soul he himself saw suffering

Four will be met with a terrible fate because of his existence

The salesman was wrong

The hero of time wasn’t met with a terrible fate, he wasn’t

For he caused it for anyone else instead

Any decision he made people where met with a terrible fate

Yet he ended up living a life he didn’t deserve

What is your favorite thing about the Hero's Shade? What is your least favorite thing about him? (How long we actually get to see him is not a valid answer because I also wish we got to see him more or that he appeared in pretty much every other Zelda game too.)

I made a post about it before I think, but there's a quote that's like "in the end you become the person you needed that time when no one helped you" and that sums up my feelings well. In ocarina of time (and ESPECIALLY majora's mask), plenty of people teach you things and help you out here and there, but not in the same way the hero's shade watches you on your journey + actually teaches you to protect yourself*. There's almost a feeling of loneliness/isolation in oot and mm (<personal opinion), whereas one of the major themes of tp is that you're never alone in your fight. and what better representation of that than heroshade. turns into a kitchen appliance

He's got so many good lines too tbh. something about "go, and do not falter" makes me stick my head into a cement mixer. and we as a fandom are sleeping on the memeability of "A (blank) wields no (blank) unless the hand that holds it has (blank)"

My least favorite thing is probably how he calls Link a disgrace during their first meeting LIKE GIRLLLLLL. absolutely no reason to talk to him like that. i don't know that guy

I also think. and this is so nitpicky. the sword training music is very meh. it serves its purpose but as the track associated with him i think it leaves something to be desired. I love MajorLink and Brock Hewitt's choice to make his leitmotif the Ballad of Twilight/Courage Theme instead

*you could make an argument for Sheik or Kaepora Gaebora or even Navi here but their roles are still different i feel. and in majora's mask you very much have No One
