little rant about work
my work has started implementing this new policy where on fridays everyone has to say the days that they're intending on coming into the office on the next week. for the most part it's been okay but today I didn't go in (landlord ended up having to be let in and also I didn't want to) and my team leader messaged me to say like, "Hey [coordinator] said u were planning to come in today and tomorrow, you good?" but more formally.
and idk everyone important at work knows i struggle so much with anxiety and I finally reached an agreement with my team leader about coming in when I can and seeing how I feel in the mornings. and so this new thing is not really giving the 'flexible' arrangement they've been selling me to get me into the office more. like don't tell me i can come in whenever i can during the week and even during the day if you're gonna chase me the second i don't come in (for a valid reason!). like how can you think that will make me less anxious?
i have a 1-2-1 with our coordinator coming up. is there a good way to be like, "you're gonna drive me towards a nervous breakdown by asking this level of organisation from me". like it's the anxiety stuff, it's the social stuff, it's even just making sure i have lunch prepared beforehand. its all of it?? I feel like they'll just hear that I'm not committed but that's not the problem like I work so fucking hard, I just cannot organise myself properly AND be constantly fighting anxiety at the same time.

I'm very sorry to ask something like this, I've really been struggling with this question, and I wanted to ask the combined wisdom of the people on this site
I would like to know why you keep going, and what drives you to keep living. I know there are a lot of reasons to stay alive and enjoy life, I can think of a few that personally resonate with me, but I really want to know what your reasons are
You do not have to comment on this if that's too big of an ask, and I'm very sorry for asking something like this, I really need someone's help, I feel like I don't have much purpose
Also if I may ask, please don't post any suicidal ideation in the comments of this post, I really can't handle something like that right now

Become Your Best Version Before 2025 - Day 9
Auditing Your Relationships
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey Goddesses! We're going to talk about something really important, but often overlooked, our relationships.
Our connections with others play a massive role in our happiness and growth. But life gets busy, and sometimes we put those connections on autopilot. That’s why today is all about doing a relationship audit. Think of it as checking in on your “connection bank” and making sure the important ones are thriving.
Pull out your journal (or open your Notes app), and let’s dig in.
1.Reflect on Your Circle
Ask yourself: Who are the people in my life right now? This isn’t about judging anyone; it’s about awareness. Write down:
People you talk to daily.
Those you lean on when life gets tough.
People you love but maybe haven’t connected with in a while.
Now ask: How do these relationships make me feel? Energized? Loved? Drained?
To keep it simple, create three columns in your journal:
Nurture: Relationships you cherish and want to pour into.
Reassess: Connections that feel one-sided or unhealthy.
Reconnect: Those you’ve unintentionally drifted away from but miss.
2.Strengthen Your Core Relationships
Think about the people in your Nurture column. These are your VIP, your people. Ask yourself:
When was the last time I told them how much they mean to me?
Have I been truly present when we’re together?
Now, pick one small thing to do for someone this week:
Send a random “thinking of you” text.
Plan a coffee date or video call.
Leave a sticky note of appreciation on their desk or mirror.
Sometimes, the smallest gestures speak the loudest.
3.Address Strained Connections
Relationships in the Reassess column can be tricky. Maybe it’s a friend who constantly cancels plans or someone whose energy doesn’t match yours anymore.
Here’s the thing: it’s okay to outgrow connections. It doesn’t mean you don’t care about them; it just means you’re prioritizing your emotional health.
This is where practicing boundaries comes in.
For example:
If a friend is always negative, limit how much time you spend with them.
If someone constantly crosses your boundaries, have an honest conversation.
It might feel uncomfortable at first, but protecting your peace is so worth it.
4.Rekindle Faded Connections
We all have people in our Reconnect column, friends or family who’ve been pushed to the edges of our busy lives. Reaching out can feel awkward at first, but it’s amazing how quickly the warmth can come back.
Try sending a simple message like:
“Hey, I was just thinking about you and realized how much I miss our chats. How are you doing?”
“Life has been so busy, but I’d love to catch up. Are you free next week?”
Sometimes, it just takes one brave step to reignite a meaningful connection.
5.Check in with Yourself
Let’s not forget the most important relationship: the one with yourself.
Ask:
Am I showing myself the same love and compassion I give to others?
Do I make time for activities that light me up?
Am I proud of how I’m showing up in my relationships?
Make sure you schedule me time this week. Even 30 minutes can make a huge difference. Take a walk, read a book, or journal about what’s on your mind.
So basically...
You don’t need to have perfect relationships to feel fulfilled. What matters is that you’re trying, that you’re showing up with love, intention, and care.
Let’s commit to nurturing the connections that matter, letting go of what doesn’t serve us, and pouring back into ourselves. This isn’t about being perfect; it’s about being present.
Tell me: which step are you starting with today? I’d love to hear how it goes, let me know in the comments or send me a message.
See you tomorrow for Day 10!
♡ ☆:.。 Keep glowing, babes! ♡ ☆:.。 With love, Goddess Inner Glow.

listen. If you feel like you can’t have a good day today. you can set yourself up for a good day tomorrow.
sometimes if you have a huge amount of work or a bad stomach ache or you just feel bad, it feels like the day is a write-off. and doing the work that’s hanging over your head or eating something healthy isn’t going to fix it or make you feel better today. but it can set you up for tomorrow. rather than thinking of today either as something totally lost or as something that you have to save, let it be a space to make tomorrow better. you’re a friend to your future self and you’re starting a new day, but you’re not starting it without help.

Hey you!! Yes, you!
Now that I've got your attention!: This isn't Sept-Ingo related, but I was wondering if any kind soul(s) out there would be willing to give me some art advice!
Interested? More under the cut
I'm currently working on an animation project starring the lovely smiley choo-choo man himself, Emmet! I don't want to share more since I'd like it to be a surprise, but I'm looking forward to pushing myself to learn After Effects while doing this.
However, still being an art noob of sorts here, I am feeling some indecision about how to do things, lol. Mainly, I am trying to figure out what kind of placement/composition to go for...I'm horribly indecisive, so an outside opinion from more seasoned artists than me would be wonderful!
I have a few options here. You can see my mockups in the Imgur link here (as silly as it sounds, I don't want my cruddy sketches here to clog up my blog feed): https://imgur.com/a/mBRQIr7
I suppose I will have to spill some beans on what I'm planning here: I want to make flowers bloom onto the trees as Emmet's expression changes. I'm stuck on whether I want to put more attention on his face or the trees (i.e., should Emmet be the focus and ergo, bigger...or smaller as we want to focus on the trees?). I also don't know if his placement looks awkward or not (following the rule of thirds or something idk???).
I'm leaning toward making his face the focus, but I would like to hear what others have to say! Thank you!!

Commission Advice? (pls help)
Hey heyy
I wanna start doing commissions, but I've never done it before, and have no idea where to start. So I thought I'd make this post and ask any artist, that would like to share how they go about commissions, for advice.
I've summed up some of the questions that came to mind below the cut. I would want to take requests outside of Tumblr as well, just fyi. I'm well aware that most of what I ask depends on the individual artist and their works, and that there won't be a single formula to follow - I'd just like to gain a bit of perspective and see how different people go about these things, so that I can get an idea for myself.
Any helpful links to other posts or websites on this topic are much appreciated 💚
Replies to this in DMs are fine too ☺️
Questions below ⬇️
Communication?
Do you text with the client entirely through Tumblr (etc.) DMs, or do you use a different platform (like Discord, WhatsApp)?
Pricing?
My biggest issue is how much to charge for an art piece. I know it depends on multiple factors, like what type of drawing it is, is it lineart only, is it in colour, etc. Then there's also taxes. I've looked at a couple artists, but the prices vary so widely, and I have no idea where to put myself on that spectrum. I also have a huge problem knowing my worth, which definitely doesn't help.
Payment?
Which payment method do you use? My first thought was PayPal, I also read that many people use Stripe (that I never heard of before my research). And when do you ask for the transaction to be made? I've seen 50% upfront, the other 50% once it's done a lot. Some say to not give the customer the finished piece until you've received 100% of the money.
Slots?
How do you decide on how many you have available? Do have a fixed number or just take requests until you think you can't take any more?
Time?
How long does it take you to finish a request? Again, I know it depends on many many things. A couple examples would already help a lot.
Updates? Previews?
Do you give the client in-between updates on your progress? Do you send a preview before sending the finished piece? I've read that, before sending the final file, you should always have the images in low quality and with a watermark over it.
Changes?
If the client is dissatisfied with the final piece, do you allow changes? If yes, how many, where do you draw the line? Do you charge extra? Also, what do you do if the client doesn't like the entire thing?
Licensing
I absolutely suck at this, my brain just doesn't want to comprehend legal language. So most I've read on this, I still don't fully understand, but probably because I've never put it to practice. Is there a specific type of licensing you use? What do you tell your client on what they can do, but more importantly, can't do, with the art you create for them?
Final files?
In which file format do you send the finished art piece to the client? I was thinking pdf, maybe jpg and png? Also, how do you send it? In DMs? Per email?
Scams?
Also one of the more important questions for me, since I get paranoid about these things easily (and turn out to be right most of the time). Any advice on scams? I've read Instagram is filled with them, and to best avoid requests over Insta alltogether. Any experiences you've had, anything I should definitely look out for?
Any other advice?
Anything at all. I'm probably definitely overthinking this and it's most likely really not that complicated, but I'm a very anxious, insecure and paranoid person. 🙈 So I'll take any and all advice I can get.
Thank you 🤗💚

She could feel the snow on her lashes, taste it on her lips. It was the taste of Winterfell. The taste of innocence. The taste of dreams. Sansa VII - ASOS
a couple of photos I took haha:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way it’s written is so dreamy so I wanted to paint Winterfell as this castle in the clouds because, right now, that is exactly what it is for Sansa (and the rest of the Starklings). It feels like that far away place you can run to, for safety, for love, if in nothing but your dreams. I hope all of them come back home soon, it’s waiting, right behind the clouds, right behind their tired eyes.

I just prayed for the first time—out loud, and properly, I mean.
a prayer to Aphrodite—I might've felt a presence, but I also feel as if I'm making it up, as during the prayer, I suppose I was desperately seeking out any form or feeling of presence. I'm unsure as to whether I actually felt anything or not.
the prayer was about a personal topic regarding my appearance (my hair is only shoulder-length and I feel it grows very slowly, I'm very insecure about it), and before I noticed it, I was crying—which caught me a bit off guard since usually I always notice the build-up.
I hope She heard me, I'm desperate.

Immensely grateful so many people have offered to take a look at my grad school application materials (several friends who have done it themselves, two supervisors from my archive jobs with PhDs of their own, a person from the career center at school, even a professor writing a letter of rec for me who gave me some advice) but also every time I send my statements and CV to another person to look over, I contemplate giving up and never looking at my email inbox ever again. The mortifying ordeal of receiving feedback on some of the highest-pressure documents I will ever write in my entire life.

HI HELLO DO YOU LIKE AUDIO DRAMAS, WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE YOUR OWN AUDIO DRAMA well do I have news for you
for quite some time, I have been working on putting every bit of practical information I have about making a podcast into some kind of readable resource and I'm very happy to say that, by george, I think I've done it.
that link will take you to our resource page which has links to a 35-page handbook that takes you through every step of podcast production (on our merch page, but you can download for zero dollars! do it!) and a direct download of a 15-page pdf about how I take an idea from development through scripting.
this is by no means the be-all-end-all definitive correct guide on how to make an audio drama. as I emphasize many times throughout, this is just how I do things, but it's a pretty thorough rundown of how I do things. if you've been too overwhelmed to start your own show, I sincerely hope this helps you!
