Kombucha Market is experiencing Rapid Growth driven by Increasing Health Awareness
Kombucha is a fermented, lightly effervescent and slightly sweetened black or green tea drink commonly consumed for its supposed health benefits. It is made by combining tea, sugar, bacteria and yeast and allowing the mixture to ferment. Kombucha contains various bacteria and yeasts that are said to be probiotic in nature and aid in digestion. The rising health awareness among people regarding the consumption of probiotic foods and beverages has driven the growth of the kombucha market in recent years.
The Global Kombucha Market is estimated to be valued at US$7.9 billion in 2024 and is expected to exhibit a CAGR of 22% over the forecast period 2024-2029. Key Takeaways Key players operating in the Kombucha Market are GT's Living Foods, KeVita, Brew Dr. Kombucha, Humm Kombucha, and Live Soda Kombucha. The Kombucha Market Demand is witnessing robust growth owing to the rising health consciousness among people and increasing awareness about the various health benefits of probiotic drinks. Kombucha aids digestion and gut health due to the presence of various probiotic bacteria and yeasts. North America currently dominates the global kombucha market. However, the Asia Pacific region is expected to witness the fastest growth during the forecast period owing to growing disposable incomes, expanding retail distribution, and increasing popularity of Western alternative beverages in the region. Market Key Trends One key trend gaining popularity in the kombucha market is the launch of various new flavors. To cater to the diverse taste preferences of people, kombucha manufacturers are introducing new flavor innovations. For example, tropical, citrus and herbal flavor variants are being offered. Functional extensions with additional ingredients like ginger, turmeric or guarana extracts are also increasingly common. Such product innovation and line extensions allow manufacturers to expand their consumer base.
Porter's Analysis Threat of new entrants: Kombucha market has moderate barrier for new entrants as it requires high investment and expertise to enter. However, new startups can leverage contract manufacturing. Bargaining power of buyers: Buyers has high bargaining power as the kombucha market has numerous established as well as new players offering variety of products. Bargaining power of suppliers: Suppliers of raw materials like tea used for kombucha fermentation have moderate bargaining power due to limited availability of specialized tea. Threat of new substitutes: Other probiotic drinks and yogurt are potential substitutes but kombucha being promoted as healthier option is witnessing more demand. Competitive rivalry: Intense competition exists among kombucha manufacturers to expand market share and variety of flavors. Geographical Regions North America currently dominates the global kombucha market, holding around 49.5% share in 2017, owing to the increasing health consciousness among consumers. Asia Pacific is expected to witness the fastest growth during the forecast period. Rising middle class population coupled with growing awareness about health benefits of fermented drinks in countries such as China and India is propelling the kombucha market growth in this region.

Pink Champagne's Personal Development Plan
updated december 6, 2024
this is my version of 75 Hard, modified for a realistic approach to long-term personal development and self-improvement. though i was inspired by the structure of 75 Hard, this isn't a short-term challenge. i've organized this plan as a lifestyle blueprint that can be continued for longer than 75 days.
unlike a crash diet or a challenge intended to be started and stopped over and over again, this set of guidelines can be easily implemented into one's life, and here’s why:
i will not lie and say i don't care about physical appearance, but the focus of this strategy is to feel better and improve overall health. my plan explicitly outlines which foods to gravitate towards and which to cut back on. there are no bad foods; this is just what works for me.
crash diets and workout challenges might produce the superficial results you want, but implementing a health strategy that focuses on the big picture is more beneficial in the long run. i’m easing into it, allowing cheat days, and not setting a 75-day timeline. give yourself grace and celebrate your wins.
i love the basic concept and structure of 75 Hard, however, progress pictures are generally most helpful for those who are trying to improve their physical appearance. since this is a long-term plan prioritizing health over appearance, i replaced this section with one on consistency in general, focusing on routines and habits. i also added a self care section because that’s extremely important to me. i will continue updating this post.
with healthy habits comes a healthy body and mind. take care of yourself and you will reap the benefits, mentally and physically.

Me and my partner just tried kombucha for the first time together
Got out some white wine glasses and everything
I do not drink alcohol so i felt quite fancy drinking out of a wine glass 😆☺️
We wanted to try some because we heard about the benefits, probiotics for gut health, liver health, heart health and possibly also the killing of bad bacteria.
But also because we thought the process would be quite fun, a new healthy hobby.
And I thought it might be a nice replacement for soft drinks.
I thought I wasn't going to like it, but it's not bad!
We are going to try and make our own scoby for it.
I'll update when we get there ☺️
If anyone has experience with this process and has tips or ideas please let me know!🩷

What fancy and decadent dishes do the Great Kingdom leaders and their families love to eat? Do they secretly eat food that’s more “plebeian” as they might say?
Good question! I think it would be tedious to go through every single character's tastes, so I'll just talk about the most notable ones.
FOLKVAR: Juvella loves traditional Folkvaran fudge bars. It's her biggest weakness. This woman tries so hard to stay in shape, attending aerobics classes every day, turning down so many junk foods at the royal feasts, keeping track of everything she eats to stay healthy...then every night, she hides in a closet while she secretly scarfs down a plate of these damn fudge bars. She's deeply ashamed and hides this behavior from Gultopp, believing he would think her weak for having so little self-control. In reality, he'd just be like "o shit u got fudge?? pass me some of those! :D"
MATUZU: Marghan has a taste for exotic cuisine, and it must be authentic! He has every meal imported from faraway lands, and he does so in the most impractical, expensive way possible. Of course he's not using his own allowance money for this, oh no...he's using Matuzan tax dollars for his cross-continental DoorDash orders, the little prick.
LAMAI: Chua hates gruju, but pretends to love it because it's synonymous with Lamaish culture. They force themselves to chug that crap at every gala to keep up appearances. Every one of their conjoined siblings has their own likes and dislikes, which makes dinner time a complicated ordeal. One sibling has an addiction to xamali and sneaks this alcoholic beverage whenever Chua isn't looking. Of course, Chua suffers the consequences of whatever their siblings consume...on more than one occasion, Chua has found themselves randomly drunk or on the verge of shitting themself because of things their siblings ate.
YERIM-MOR: Roz brews his own kombucha, believing it has all kinds of crazy health benefits. He drinks this stuff all day long and encourages his son Jaq to drink it too, but Jaq thinks it's gross and his dad is weird. Roz is also a fan of yogurt, cheese, and all things probiotic. This is a guy who tries to nurture life wherever he goes, but that's hard to do when his kingdom is such a pit of death. If he can't breathe life back into his kingdom, at least he can nurture microbial life.
ZAREEN: Qara and her husband are junk food junkies, but Qara is particularly fond of sweetpork burgers. In fact, her love of these burgers is so well known that she endorsed a Zareenite burger chain, appearing in their ads for many years. This chain quickly became the most popular fast food joint in the empire. Some would say it's unprofessional and uncouth--perhaps even unethical--for an empress to advertise such unhealthy slop to her people. But this deal scored Qara a lifetime supply of free burgers, and she regrets nothing. Her endorsement of such plebian cuisine won her points with blue collar Zareenites, convincing them that she was ~*~relatable~*~. Other people think her tastes are just as trashy as she is.
EVANGELINE: Indiga strikes me as the type of woman who eats the exact same things every day. A traditional blue breakfast, meat pie for lunch, blue dinner, and a couple cookies for dessert. Every day. For decades. She's so xenophobic, she doesn't trust any sort of foreign cuisine.
MOGDIR: Oberon has a thing for mushrooms, especially truffles. He demands only the finest specimens, no matter their cost. After snorting a long line of pink sugar off a hooker's ass, he washes it down with some silk milk tea, his favorite drink. His daughter, Winnie, is a bugs rights activist who refuses to eat any bug-based dishes. This is hard to do in a place like Mogdir Kingdom, as its traditional cuisine is based almost entirely around bugs. That's because in this culture, farming animals for meat is forbidden, but bugs are not considered animals here. Winnie is like a Mogdiri super-vegan who subsists on scrap rice and carrot mash. She won't even consume bug byproducts such as honey or silk milk.
ETIOS: Hethor loves to eat grass. She's a typical Etiosi grass snob who insists that different types of grass have completely different tastes. Other than that, she enjoys quite a bit of Folkvaran cuisine, which is shipped to her regularly by her pal Gultopp as an act of good diplomacy.
DAMIJANA: Serafeen regularly visits different Damijani restaurants and eats their food as a PR stunt. In reality, she can't stand her empire's native cuisine and much prefers Mogdiri food. Of course she can't possibly let her people know this, and they would flip their lids if they saw their god-like leader put a bug in her mouth. Most foreign cuisine is viewed as "dirty" and "uncivilized" in Damijana. Serafeen must endorse only the sterile, hyper-processed cuisine of her native land.
SEELIE: There is a cup of chocolate coffee within arm's reach of Titania at all times. It's one of the few little joys she has left in her grueling, never-ending life. She has grown sick of all flavors, having tasted them all too many times...but there's something about that chocolately coffee that never gets old to her.
UNSEELIE: Morgause enjoys pickled squid. She'll sit on her throne and eat it straight from the jar with her fingers, she doesn't give a shit. She seems to have a taste for bitter, vinegary things in general.
AQUARIA: Sovereign is infamous for eating live baby dolphins, considering them a delicacy. He insists they must be alive until the moment he bites into them for peak freshness. This makes him sound like a picky guy, but in reality he's a total glutton who will eat damn near anything you put in front of him. He'll even eat stuff he hates as long as it's convenient. Bro has a pretty bad eating disorder, to be honest...It's less about enjoying food and more about the act of consumption for him, which fits his greedy nature.

A woman prepares Matcha Tea, a popular morning drink that provides a Steady Energy Boost and Enhances Mental Clarity. It’s one of several Coffee Alternatives gaining attention for their Health Benefits. Photograph By Liudmila Chernetska, Getty Images
Are These Coffee Alternatives Worth The Hype?
From the Brain-Boosting Effects of Guarana to the Calming Properties of Matcha, These Drinks Offer Both an Energy Lift and Enhanced Mental Focus.
— By Jocelyn Solis-Moreira | August 29, 2024
For many, the day doesn’t begin without that first sip of coffee—a ritual so ingrained it’s almost synonymous with morning itself. But as interest in health and wellness grows, caffeine alternatives offering a different pick-me-up are gaining traction. From the ancient ritual of matcha to the probiotic benefits of kombucha, a range of options promises to energize your morning without the usual coffee jitters. Here’s what you need to know.
Mushroom Coffee ☕️
Mushroom coffee is emerging as an energy-boosting alternative to your regular cup of joe, says Jessica Gavin, a food scientist and author of Easy Culinary Science for Better Cooking.
This morning blend combines ground coffee beans with adaptogenic mushrooms like chaga, reishi, lion’s mane, and cordyceps. Unlike their psychedelic counterparts, these mushrooms won’t alter your mind, but they can help the body adapt to stress, improve immune function, and maintain steady focus, says Gavin. Adding mushrooms to your beverage also provides antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals such as potassium, selenium, and B vitamins.
According to Gavin, most mushroom coffee products use less caffeine—about 48 to 50 milligrams—compared to an eight-ounce cup of coffee which contains 80 to 100 milligrams of caffeine.
“Because mushroom coffee does not have the same taxing load on your central nervous system, one could reasonably assume it’s a better alternative than a cup of coffee or green tea,” says Yaa Boakye, a registered dietitian nutritionist and owner of Elite Body Data.
However, mushrooms like chaga can contain high levels of oxalates, which may increase the risk of kidney stones if consumed in excess.
Matcha Green Tea 🍵
Matcha, a potent form of green tea, delivers more than just a caffeine kick. With around 70 milligrams of caffeine per serving—more than the 50 milligrams in black tea—this herbal brew offers sustained energy without the jitters. According to Gavin, matcha’s unique combination of caffeine and antioxidants boosts brain energy while promoting relaxation, thanks to the amino acid L-theanine, which is known to reduce stress and protect against neuronal injury.
Yerba Mate 🧉
Containing roughly as much caffeine as coffee, South America’s super brew, yerba mate, packs more antioxidants than any other tea-based drink. Made from the leaves of holly trees native to the region, yerba mate offers a steady caffeine release, providing sustained energy without the jitters. According to Boakye, this tea is also rich in polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals not typically found in traditional caffeinated beverages.
Research shows that yerba mate can boost mental alertness and enhance physical performance. Additional benefits include antimicrobial properties, support for weight loss, and the potential to lower blood sugar, reduce cholesterol, and combat chronic inflammation.
Yaupon Tea 🫖
Yaupon tea, brewed from the leaves of the yaupon holly—the only caffeinated plant native to the United States—offers a mild yet energizing boost. Bryan Quoc Le, a food scientist and author of 150 Food Science Questions Answered, says that yaupon tea contains 0.1 to 2 percent caffeine, less than coffee’s 1 to 3 percent. However, it’s not just about caffeine; yaupon tea is rich in xanthines, including theobromine, which enhances mood and alertness without the jitters.
Kombucha 🧋
Kombucha, a fermented tea, is celebrated for its gut health benefits and mild stimulant effects. According to Le, kombucha retains some of the tea’s bioactive compounds, including 3 to 6 percent caffeine, depending on how it’s brewed. But the real star is its probiotics—beneficial microorganisms that nourish the gut’s “good bacteria. A healthy gut microbiome is linked to improved cognitive functions like attention, memory, and learning. Additionally, kombucha is rich in B vitamins, which Boakye says help the body metabolize nutrients into cellular fuel.
Guarana ☕️
Guarana stands out for its impressive caffeine content, with berries containing 2 to 8 percent caffeine—far exceeding the 1 to 3 percent in coffee beans. In addition to caffeine, guarana is rich in stimulating compounds like theophylline and theobromine, which, according to Gavin, boost cognitive performance, reduce fatigue, and increase alertness. It also boasts antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.
Often found in energy drinks with doses ranging from 50 to 75 milligrams, guarana can also be added as a powder to smoothies or other beverages. However, Boakye cautions against excessive consumption to avoid caffeine crashes and jitteriness, noting that the FDA recommends a daily limit of 400 milligrams of caffeine.
“If someone is about to sit and do some office work, [guarana] is probably not a good idea,” says Boakye. “But if you’re about to go and do a workout or an intense boot camp, [it] might be helpful since it provides that quick burst of energy.”
Turmeric Lattes🥤
For a caffeine-free morning boost, turmeric lattes, known as golden milk, deliver powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. Made with turmeric and curcumin, this golden drink can be enhanced with a touch of coconut oil and black pepper, which improve curcumin absorption, says Gavin. Ginger, another key ingredient, aids digestion and adds a spicy kick.
“I prefer it in the morning because the combination of ingredients has a way of stimulating you,” says Gavin. She says the sensation of the gingery spices, pepper, and warm cinnamon on your tongue helps wake up the senses differently than caffeine.

National Hydration Day
With summer starting, it's crucial to be extra conscious about hydration. Although everyone must stay hydrated, National Hydration Day is particularly geared towards athletes, who must put in additional effort to maintain hydration while training. Athletes must be hydrated before a workout, drink fluids during it, and continue hydrating following it. Water is the essential hydrating drink, but athletes may benefit from sports drinks with electrolytes like magnesium, potassium, sodium, and calcium, that replenish those lost during perspiration.
National Hydration Day was founded by the SafeTGuard Corporation, the makers of FuelGard™ Mouthguard and Electrolyte Tablets. This mouthguard not only protects athletes but provides them with electrolytes to help them maintain hydration during training. The day was founded in honor of Coach Victor Hawkins, the creator of this mouthguard, who passed away on June 23, 2012. It honors Hawkins' "contributions to athlete health, safety, and success" and "increase[s] awareness of the importance of proper hydration to athletes everywhere."
Hydration assists in regulating body temperature, revitalizing skin, lubricating and cushioning joints, protecting the spinal cord and other tissues, and removing waste by helping with perspiration, urination, and bowel movements. Dehydration can lead to kidney stones, fatigue, overheating, unclear thinking, and mood changes. In extreme circumstances, it can cause heatstroke and death.
Monitoring hydration is particularly important when in a hot climate, when being more physically active, and when experiencing fever, diarrhea, or vomiting. Older people, infants, and young children, and those with chronic illnesses that cause them to urinate or sweat more, or who take medicines that cause them to do the same, are at a higher risk of dehydration. Water and other fluids like milk, kombucha, and smoothies are beneficial for hydrating, while sweetened drinks, alcohol, and highly caffeinated drinks are not. Salad greens and other fresh vegetables are full of water, as are fruits, and are also helpful for maintaining hydration.
How to Observe National Hydration Day
Athletes and non-athletes alike should stay hydrated today and on the hot summer days to come. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids as part of your daily routine. Remind others to do the same by sharing #NationalHydrationDay on social media.
Indicators that you may be dehydrated:
Thirst.
Dry mouth.
Tiredness.
Dizziness.
Urinating and sweating less than usual.
Dark-colored urine.
More severe dehydration symptoms like rapid heartbeat, rapid breathing, and fainting require immediate medical attention.
Tips to stay hydrated:

Drink water before, during, and after workouts.
Drink water with meals at home and at restaurants.
Infuse water with lemons, limes, oranges, berries, cucumbers, or mint.
