no because. can you imagine if the eighth doctor and clara oswald had met. had travelled together. can you imagine the insanity of it all. the byronic, romantic, overzealous beautiful bugger of a man and the impossible girl, the girl who teaches english and reads classics and kisses jane austen and never learned how to love in a way that wasn't destructive. the poet and the muse. they would've gone to the ends of the universe for each other. they'd be inseperable, insufferable, deliciously unhealthy and i would've loved it with every fibre of my being.

Okay listen I'm not really super invested in the shipping side of the gravity falls fandom, but I think there's a LOT of unfulfilled potential for either a fiddauthor or fiddlestan Hanahaki fic (my brain immediately goes to fiddlestan bc I obviously love Stanley but I think you could make either work)

Gravity Falls is a town of weirdness, of the strange and the unexplained, so having a mysterious new ailment pop up where Stanley is suddenly coughing up flowers is not even close to outside the realm of possibility. Is it a curse? Is it something he ate? You could have it be a mystery trio fic and have Ford research it and discover, surprise! It's Hanahaki Disease, caused by unrequited romantic feelings. Makes sense, because Stanley's into Fidds, and he's certain Fidds is into Ford. Too bad the only cure is to confess and have your feelings be returned, because Stanley knows that's impossible.

When he relays this, Ford and Fidds start desperately searching for an alternative solution, which is when Fiddleford invents The Memory Gun! You can't have a disease kill you because of unrequited romantic feelings for someone if you forget you have those feelings!

I think Gravity Falls and Hanahaki go so well together BECAUSE two of the main components of Hanahaki (magic and memory loss) are already two of the main components in GF. I don't think I've ever seen anyone explore this yet, but I think you could really do a lot with it.

charlie is so autistic coded it isn’t even funny. obscure special interests. doesn’t understand social cues or norms. you can never tell if he’s joking or serious. just “gets” music to the point he’s a genius with it. has to have his own psychological trauma explained to him so he can realize it’s trauma. same outfit 4/7 days of the week. safe foods are weird and also all he wants to eat. big feelings that he can’t process without a meltdown. vocal and physical stims. pattern recognition. doesn’t like physical affection. has meltdowns when overstimulated. loves routine and gets upset when his schedule is changed. it’s all autism babey.

imagine with me, for a second, a world where everything went right. Ford had his epic showdown with Bill in the Nightmare Realm and was able to shoot him with the quantum destabilizer right before the portal opened up, allowing him to escape the collapse of Dimension 0 and—more pressingly—the wrath of the Henchmaniacs. Even if a rift appears, there's no Bill alive to worry about coming through. Still a problem, but much less pressing. Ford can return home as a hero of the multiverse having accomplished his mission to defeat Bill and still get to live out the rest of his life.

What do we think the reunion between Stan and Ford looks like in this scenario? Is Ford still mad that Stan ignored his warnings and took the risk of opening the portal? If so, does he still punch him? Is Ford grateful that he gets to return home safely, mission accomplished? Does Stan get his hug? Or maybe an awkward handshake? What are the thoughts here?

say what you will about the ~problematic~ nature of the ships, but I do think it's unbelievably funny and poetic that both Stan and Dipper had a character that was specifically designed to be everything that would antagonize them, everything that they would hate, everything that would personally drive them insane (Ford and Bill respectively), and yet the biggest ship for both of them is with that character
