I absolutely LOVE angsty Jason and Dick fanfics, I eat it up every single time.

Dick trying to be the big brother he never was to Jason, the guilt eating him alive for years knowing that all his little brother wanted was for him to be there and give him attention and he died without ever getting that.

Jason hating every second of bonding time Dick tries to force him through, why wasn’t he good enough for Dick before he died? What makes him different now? Is it all just an act?

Jason watching Dick effortlessly bond with Tim and Damian, wondering why is was so difficult for Dick to do that for him. Even now when they hangout it seems so forced that it just makes it so uncomfortable.

Dick watching Jason distance himself from the family and not knowing what to do because he doesn’t know Jason like he knows the rest of his siblings.

It hurts so good and I always read one when I need to cry.

literally just rewatched this episode (and s2 episode 9) and i support this message.

i think rafe knows that wheezie wouldn’t lie about how she feels about something which is why he showed her the cross cause he wants that praise an approval but he wants it to be genuine. he shows her the gold and his eyes are sparkling waiting for her approval and she’s happy not cause of the gold but because he’s happy and their family is (seemingly) back together but she still tells him that it’s great and he did a good job oh i’m gonna cry.

rafe and wheezie are the black sheep of the family pre-s1 and all of the show so even if they aren’t super close they understand each other and bond over being afterthoughts/the unfavorite. they might not seem as close as sarah and wheezie but they still hold affection for each other and seem comfortable enough to not sugarcoat situations they’re in ie; rafe talking about john b killing peterkins yes he was lying but he was clear cut about serious the situation was or wheezie talking about how they’re not the important ones and are able to slip in and out of the house because of it when she visits rafe after he’s been kicked out.

she brings him all of her allowance you’re gonna tell me they’re not close? fuck off.

i think sarah asks wheezie to distract rafe in s2e9 because she knows that rafe will help wheezie try to close her suitcase. which just feeds into my theory that while rafe and wheezie have a rocky relationship rafe isn’t a completely shitty older brother and probably was and from time to time still is someone wheezie can turn to for little or big problem.

(also rafe knowing her passcode implies that they’re close enough to indulge in the sacred sibling act of sitting on a couch together and using your phone w/o hiding your screen)

something something it's just really important to me that he showed wheezie this cross. and clearly looks happy, excited, and proud to show off his achievements to her.

actually in canon we know that they're at least semi close (he knows her phone password, he texts her to bring him some money and she brings him all her savings, she thinks of them both as "the black sheep" of the family).........

it's very interesting to me that it's him showing wheezie. not rose, not ward. wheezie. and she genuinely looks interested and impressed by him. and god knows that's all he's looking for here. but he still sought her out and brought her down here to say "look what i did for us!" and she thinks its cool!!!!!! helllooo?!?!?!?!? can anyone hear me!!!!???

also the fact that in the last pic he's crouched down to look up at her (lower than he is in the frame immediately before where he's low enough that they're on the same level). but once she's given him that approval, he's let go of the pretense and --regardless of if you think this is an intentional choice, a subconscious movement, or just him resting after squatting for so long-- let himself lose the advantage of height. there's inherent power that comes with looking down at someone, which rafe almost always has over anyone, but with wheezie he is on her level, and then goes lower. which to be is a sacrifice of power and more than that, a sign that he's comfortable enough around her to be in that vulnerable position where he's no longer taller and holding all the power.

Based on a headcanon someone told me a long while ago of the boys going back to see their childhood swing only to see it’s broken and rundown. Stan is clearly upset but brushes it off like it’s nothing, but Ford is very determined to fix their childhood swing because they both cherish it deeply.

Occasionally I picture Nightwing calling Red Hood "little wing" in front of others and people looking between this huge, 6'0 feet tall man with growing white hair, and then Nightwing, a shorter man who has flawless skin, probably around his 20's, and a fit but not too buff build and they just- don't know what's happening. Is it some kind of inside joke they aren't aware of? Why is Nightwing acting as if he's years older than Red-fucking jacked-Hood?

Nightwing: Little wing, you actually were decent in that fight! I'm impressed.

Hero, who was helping during this fight as well, listening in to the conversation: little...?

Red Hood: Wow, feeling very appreciated right now. Got any other backhanded compliments in there?

Danny goes to a new School

So! When Danny got expelled from his High School, it wasn't really a big Suprise. He had missed for too many days or just walked out in the middle of Class, and his grades were lower than anyone else in the school. It was just a matter of time really.

When confronted by his Parents, he had just claimed that it was the constant ghost attacks getting to him (not a total lie) and that he was sorry.

Well, his parents tried to help.

After hearing about his supposed Fear of Ghosts, they decided that it was a good idea for him to go to school somewhere outside of Amity Park, so he could focus on his Schoolwork and not be distracted by the constant Attacks.

Of course no School wanted to accept a problem student like Danny, so they were forced to look into alternative schools to find one that would accept him. And they did! So they had Danny pack his bags, promise to call regularly, and shipped him off to his new School.

Danny is adoption bait to the Gotham rogues.

Danny only went to Gotham university because it had a lot of ambient ectoplasm and he could fast track to the arrow space department in Wayne enterprises if he worked hard enough. He didn’t need adopting, he was already 19 years old and had a (strained, very distant) relationship with his parents. When he moved to Gotham, he expected to have to deal with people wanting to make him a new Wayne, not with all of the Gotham rogues immediately trying to adopt him.

So what if he defended Killer Croc from some asshole cops, accidentally exposing his fangs and had a conversation about being dehumanized with him that led to them having dinner on Wednesdays?

So what if he got into a serious conversation about the green gas effect and pollution (Sam had taught him well) with Poison Ivy that result in him coming over for dinner and Harley Quinn declaring him a ‘sweetheart’?

So what if he directed Frostbitw to help Mr. Freeze and now Nora invited him over for brunch on Sundays?

So what if he had a wonderful conversation with the Riddler in which they traded space themed riddles which lead to Riddler seeking him out sometimes for a game?

So what if he helped Mr. cobble pot by making him intangible when some people were driving by in about splash mud on him and he now had a part time job there as a bouncer?

So what if Grundy played tag with him every other Thursday and called him Little Death and offered to eat his chemical engineering teacher who gave him a low grade because he didn’t follow safety precautions?
