Ford wanted Dipper as his apprentice and let's not forget he even admitted to carrying an outlawed infinity dice in a cheap plastic case and then LEFT IT IN WITH REGULAR DICE IN THE D&D&D EPISODE. He and Dipper wouldn't have had to have been saved had he just not had it on his person/kept it contained properly in the first place. He is an actual danger to children

1 he hunts for food and had to be stopped by Stanley on more than one occasion trying to hunt squirrels.

2) he growls at any boy who is anywhere near mabel

3) forgot what glitter was and ate an entire jar of it before he was stopped by Stanley.

when Stan is taken down by a pain-eating, psyche-invading anomaly, Ford must enter his warped mindscape, and fight off his worst moments in an attempt to save his brother from its intense psychological torture.

tws: emotional/mental/physical torture, trauma and abuse, intense insults and hateful language, burns, and vomiting (though that one's not explicit). This is an intense and angsty one, so please read the tags and take care of yourself!
