This has been sitting on my head for a while, what kind of Pokemon would the FoM cast have for as their team ?Au?
This one was tricky- i’m not gonna lie. My confession is that i’m not a huge Pokemon nerd, I know like maybe up to Gen 4 confidently. But- I do know how to pair these funky little guys. So, here you go!
HC’s under the cut
Adeline: Off the bat, I think she’d have physic type pokemon. She needs someone who can help her use paperwork and also help her take a load off. So I think her team would be: Raltz, Galarian Ponyeta, Espeon, Hattere, and Delphox.
Balor: Being our beloved rougish character. I think he would have both cute- and scary pokemon. So his team would probably consist of a lot of fairy type and ghost/dark types. I think his team would be: Mimikyu, Marill, Mawhile, Sinestea, Phantump, and Haunter.
Eiland: Look me in my eyes rn and tell me he would not have rock/ground type. He’s an archaeologist. Of course he does. His team would be: Leafeon (Not a ground type but I think it’s cute if him and Adeline both have eveeloutions), Phanpy, Onyix ofc, Silvally, Clodsire my boy, and of course the fossil pokemon- Kabuto.
Celine: She would definitely have grass or fairy. Just look at her. I’m giving her togepi because she would look so cute walking around with her. She’d also have Bonsweet, Given roses are a loved gift- i’d say she’s have Roselia too, Deerling for the vibes, she’d also have marill and a wooper.
March: Once again. Look me in my eyes and tell me he wouldn’t have steel/rock type. If you say no you’re wrong. He’d have Metaln- I mean it’s little molten metal. That’s like- his thing. I can not explain it- but Lucario. He’s a sucker for cute things, so Togedemaru. TINATINK. She’d like to help him hammer. Geodude. And Rockruff.
That’s all I got for now! Because this hurt my brain 💀 but if you want more specific pokemon teams you can let me know! Or- better yet @mistriarts is a pokemon connoisseur ask her lmao

Ranking my favorite to least favorite hashira
I just finished the Swordsmith village arc, Hulu please I want the next one TwT
1 . Muichiro Tokito! This guy is just so fun, and his flashbacks made me cry. I love how there's just a random 14 year old in the group, who happens to insult demons until they die. After he remembered things, Gyokko had zero shot.
2 . Mitsuri Kanroji! I will personally fight anyone who doesn't like her just because the creators decided to sexualize her character. She is powerful, strong, beautiful, and amazing. Probably would be my favorite if Muichiro wasn't so funny to me. She's just the best (You can do better than Iguro girl anyone who says otherwise can die by your blade)
3. Sanemi Shinazugawa! This guy is such a terrible person and I love it. Please blink more. Please accept your little brother. Please keep making fun of Giyu and being a complete ass. He needs to throw hands more, I'd like to see him and Inosuke fist fight.
4. Giyu Tomioka! This guy is great. I like how he seems so cool in front of Tanjiro but in reality he's just a sad wet cat. I hope we get to see him more, probably in the new Hashira training arc. No spoilers please. He just seems so interesting, I wanna know why everyone else in the hashira seem to dislike him so much.
5. Kyojuro Rengoku! This guy was fun. I'm sad he died so quickly, we didn't get to experience a lot of him. I'm very curious, because Akaza was open and "friendly" with him, but in the swordsmith village arc Akaza was guarded and being violent and snappy. It makes Rengoku feel way more special in my eyes.
6. Tengen Uzui! This man is so stupid and I hate him. He's an interesting character, and I like him in theory, just not in practice. The only reason he's higher is because he actually has something I find interesting. I'm very confused on the three wives thing. I think it's extremely funny when people write or draw him simping for Rengoku because I do get bisexual disaster from him.
7. Obanai Iguro! "But I'm a creep... I'm a weirdo..." this guy is creepy and I don't like him. Get him away from Mitsuri. I know his backstory is tragic, but I don't care! Especially since in the demon slayer academy he's portrayed as "allergic to women". He just gives me creepy guy who lives in his moms basement. Discord mod vibes. Weirdo.
8. Shinobu Kocho! Shinobu is another one where there's definitely more to her, but until we figure that out, she just seems rather blank to me. It's definitely on purpose, because she's supposed to have her big reveal when fighting a demon, and we know a little from Kanao she used to have an older sister. I'm just frustrated because it seems like she has nothing else. The most interesting thing about her is the rest of the girls at the Butterfly Mansion.
9. Gyomei Himejima! He's another one where there's more to him, I just haven't seen it. But I don't really like what I do see? Like, he pitied Tanjiro and Nezuko, but was willing to kill them. If he's trying to be portrayed as a sympathetic man, it's not working. Also he just looks like a geodude from Pokémon to me, except with a worse color pallet.
#atlas speaks#mod speaks#demon slayer#please talk to me about them#gyomei himejima#muichiro tokito#sanemi shinazugawa#shinobu kocho#giyuu tomioka#rengoku kyojuro#obanai iguro#mitsuri kanroji#tengen uzui

Surprise pokemon
Roark x son reader
Male reader, fluff, child reader
Roark watched as his toddler tried to feed the gym leaders pokemon in the back yard, struggling with onyx as he was using the cup Roark used for Geodude and cranidos "you gotta use the big cup bud!" He said to the boy who slowly moved and looked surprised at the big bowl.
The thing is, the bowl was half the size of his little body.
(Name) eventually fed all three pokemon and followed his dad back inside "guess whose visiting tonight?" Roark asked as he prepared his son breakfast, the boy in his chair boosted by Roarks rock books, thick textbooks.
"Who?" (Name) asked as the elder placed food infront of him and his own spot at the table "grandpa!"
(Name) bounced happily and did his "grandpa dance" while eating, always excited to see his grandfather, Roark happy they're close.
"There's my little grandson!" Byron said when he came by a few hours later, lifting the boy up and into his arms "are you excited for today!"
(Name) had no clue what the two had planned for him, the boy just excited for grandpa.
Today he was getting his first pokemon.
Little (name) was confused as they went to sandgem town, the two gym leaders happened to friends with The professor who was more than happy to facilitate the tiny boy with a pokemon.
"But I got a pokemon already" (name) said simply and the three adults looked at him confused "no you don't?" Roark asked his son confused and (name) puffed out his cheeks "ya I do! I met him in our back yard!"
"What does this pokemon look like?" Rowan asked crouching before the tiny boy with a pen and paper and the boy drew a very crude picture of... "Are you sure you saw this pokemon?" The professor asked wide eyed and the boy nodded "they are my pokemon!"
"Come out!" (Name) said with a small basket of berries, all of which sweet as the adults stood back and watched as a garchomp came out of the bushes "see! I got a pokemon!" The boy was very proud as the garchomp let him pet him and feed him "by arcieus..." The adults were stunned to say the least as the little boy fed one of the single most dangerous pokemon in the region "have you caught this pokemon?"
(Name) shook his head and tentatively the professor walked to the boy and gave him a pokeball and went back as the pokemon got protective of the tiny boy "you wanna stay with me?" (Name) asked the giant of a pokemon who looked down at the boy blankly before a short nod, after some help from his dad the boy caught the pokemon.
"(Name), would it be possible for you to allow me to study your garchomp?"
(Name) shrugged and held his pokeball "gotta ask him" (name) said simply before releasing his pokemon, the boy and pokemon both quite happy "is there any secret pokemon you have?" Roark asked his son who smiled "I got Lotta friends!"
(Name) by the end of the day showed his family/the professor his "friends"
A garchomp
A ralts
And a strange looking ditto
"A shiny ditto?" Roark really needed to keep a closer eye on his son.
"He's shy about it" (name) said feeding the blob an oran berry "I have so many questions.." Rowan said taking notes and pictures.

the gang's all here!!
now we're just missing team rocket 👀
inspired by kianamai's redesigns!!
design notes and lil musings under the cut!
Ash takes a lot from Pokespe in terms of his proportions (at least how the early chapters look in my head) and some cues from the newer movie designs bc i LOVE those, especially the one from Power of Us. So ya I also wanted to give him a big poofy jacket bc of i remember seeing an interpretation of Red's original sprite as a big jacket as well and i think it suits Ash a lot. The style was kinda early One Piece inspired at first, so there's just a big of Luffy in Ash's design, but I think it ended up more Digimon Adventure in the end lmaoo. The nose bandaid's to just elevate that rookie protagonist feel a lil bit + I spent way too long figuring out a new hat symbol lmaoo. He's also 11 in this world to match Red's age in RBY.
Pikachu I just wanted to draw him like Red's Pikachu in Special and give him the lighter coloured tummy from early artwork.
Misty's the biggest departure obvs but I knew I wanted to give her a crop hoodie and take inspo from Kiana Khansmith's Misty and give her the wetsuit as an undersuit. Then the chunky shoes were carried over from Ash with big scrumpled socks bc I thought it made her look a lil more unkempt. The whole goal was the make her more scrappy looking and focus in on the whole "Tomyboyish Mermaid" thing from the games. Also combined her RBY hair with her GSC do by making it a half-up ponytail that I think is very cute. OH and her shoes are Cerulean Gym branded, bc I imagine in this world there's merch for each Gym that the leader wear, so the wet suit and hoodie would be branded too. The hoodie's just cropped above the logo and the wet suit's logo's covered by clothes. She's about 12, so a lil older than Ash and does not let him forget it.
For Psyduck, I wanted to make him a lil fluffier and ugly-duckling + incorporate the three lil sprout hairs he's got a lil more to suit the style. He also has a neck now, you just can't see it super well here. He's just a fluffy lil duck who hurt a lot. Poor lil guy :((
Brock was pretty straight forward, I kinda wanted to reference his Sygna Suit from Masters with pants and a tank top, but made the pants into cargo pants that can be unzipped into shorts (he's thinks its the coolest thing in the world. He wears hiking boots to go over rougher terrain as a Rock-type Leader and hunt for fossils bc I like that aspect of his game characterization so I carried it over here, and he wears an armband with Pewter Gym branding. His tiny lil facial hairs are all he can grow at the moment bc he's still like 15 as usual, but he thinks it makes him look ~Older, Maturer & More Sophisticated~ so refuses to shave it.
I wanted to incorporate a lil more Geode Dude into Geodude so I changed his colours a bit and added parts where the outer layers of the rock have kinda chipped away in battles to reveal the crystal underneath + added the eyebrows from Alolan Geodude. I imagine it's like, the more outer layer gets chipped away from a Geodude, the closer they get to evolution. I do not at all know what this world's Graveller or Golem would look like but I think I'd canonise the theory of Machoke and Graveller taking aspects of the other when traded and make them kinda like Karrablast and Shelmet in a way.
Broad plot strokes are just these guys would exist in a version of the indigo league w an expanded kanto dex to include all related mons + variants, so stuff like Electivire and Annihilape and Alolan Exeggcutor would exist in there without much fanfare of ~Woahhhh Newly Discovered Pokemon~. Regional variants would be found on the Sevii Islands. Maybe there'd be small type changes too idk. Like pure Rock Geodude that gain Ground on evolution bc Gravel-ler. idk who knows I'm just spitballin. Essentially just a lil more closely following the Game's story, I guess. Less wacky loose adaptation stuff from Indigo League. Not bc I don't like that stuff, just bc it's not what I'd do.
I figure like, there'd be an interlude short arc that takes place in the Sevii Islands just after the Vermillion Gym where Ash would catch a Galarian Farfetch'd and all forms of Paldean Tauros instead of like, 100 Kantonian Tauros, and be introduced to Legendary Pokemon through a quest to track down the Galarian Legendary birds (then find out others can be found back in Kanto). Naturally he'd use the PC system (maybe adapted as some kind of daycare or something, or maybe just a teleporter to Oak's lab like the main anime) and have a couple more than 6 team members to rotate out as needed. Also. Mega Evolution would be a factor bc I think it'd be cool, so Ash gets to Mega Evolve Charizard into Mega Charizard Y.
OH also just for funsies, I'd split the starters across the trio, so Ash gets Charmander, Misty gets Squirtle and Brock gets Bulbasaur.
Basically Ash would end up with more or less the same team from the original series, but with added Annihilape, Sirfetch'd, Paldean Tauros and Mega Charizard Y. I also think I'd add Dragonite from Journeys and make his Gengar the Haunter he befriended that would follow him in secret after helping him beat Sabrina and evolve in the Cinnabar Mansion + officially join his team there.
Squirtle would evolve into Wartortle with Misty and Bulbasaur would stay in the same stage with Brock like Ash's.
I'll come up with and probably draw everyone's main teams at some point later but. ya. that's my piece!
#pokemon#pokeani#ash ketchum#pokemon anime#misty#brock#pikachu#psyduck#geodude#i say we're just missing tr but i'll probably also do gary and prof oak and delia and stuff hehe#my art

Greedy
might be shorter than other reqs hope you okay with that! Hey, friendly reminder I won't go too deep with these typa requests I don't do toxic troupes. - 🦇
Warnings : out of character, I do not rec cause this was too short
Konia is scared of you lmao, like she's trying to do her work here and make cash and then when she's trying to help him there's this person behind her staring like a Mimikyu, she wants you to know that AMETHIO is yours bro she just wants to do her job.
Amethio himself got irritated at first, but hes used with your behavior and finds it a bit silly and cute.
Okay it might disturb him working, but he loves you anw so he wouldn't give a - if you threw a geodude at Spinel. He'd even thank you for it.
The word love seems so out of character for him, but I promsie this boy has love in his heart. Because for him what's the point of loving someone if you don't accept them for who they are.
There are times though where he gets super annoyed and just lashes out (yells) he doesn't mean it though and always tries to aplogize (in a cool way like yk those cold apologies that are also not cold where the person just looks at you with some emotionless face and then you guys stare into the sky while they start saying the shenanigans and the apology)
Amethio gets secretly embarrassed when you use nicknames he's fine with you grabbing his left arm when he's doing something, BUT CALLING HIM THIO INFRONT OF THE EXPLORER ADMINS IS A NO especially if it's Sango he'd 1v1 god to not be called that infront of HER.
Another out of character thing I'd see him doing when he has to leave on a mission is reassuring you like in a gentle, non frightening way. "I'll be back soon I promise", "I'll be fine." stuff that can make fans jump in the air.
On free time or if he can he will let you accompany him anywhere to make you happy.

punch out pokemon au ‼️
so i realized that punch out wii has 13 opponents (not counting donkey kong) that are divided up in such a way that they could all be opponents in a pokemon game! the minor and major circuits are the 8 gym leaders, the world circuit is the elite four, and mr sandman is the champion! it's too perfect! i've at least decided everyone's type specialties, sooo....
gym leaders (minor & major circuits):
- glass joe: flying types
i imagine joe is not as miserable in this au, since the first gym leader's job is literally to lose a lot to young trainers. he's not too skilled at battling, and became a gym leader by accident. his team is made up of two measly kalosian flying types, fletchling and vivillon.
- von kaiser: rock types
i know herr kaiser is typically associated with steel, but steel types are way too cool to be the type of the second gym. sorry. i imagine his students are his gym trainers. his ace is rockruff, and maybe he uses something classic like geodude as well.
- disco kid: electric types
these moves are ELECTRIC! i think this one is self-explanatory. disco kid is pretty good at battling, at least good enough to secure a spot as the 3rd gym leader, but he also doesn't take things too seriously. his team is made up of pokemon that he befriended first and trained for battle later, with his ace being raichu.
- king hippo: ground types
did i give him the ground type just so i could give him hippowdon? ...maybe. there's not much else for me to say about king hippo... he's just chilling. good for him. i was originally gonna give him the poison type, but i'll be giving that type to someone else. ;)
- piston hondo: ghost types
what can i say? he seems like a ghost type guy. obviously he gets a revaroom, because honda and all that. he absolutely feeds his pokemon only the best of snacks.
- bear hugger: normal types
what comes to mind when you hear "bear hugger" and "pokemon"? obviously it's bewear. that is his ace, without a doubt. he also has a greedent and a snorlax, it's way too perfect! and of course, they all like raw fish.
- great tiger: psychic types
yeah i don't think i need to explain this one. the man has a medicham (his ace) and an espeon. this also fits the theme of psychic gym leaders tending to have psychic powers themselves. do you think it's legal to use your own psychic powers to trip up your opponents in a battle? let's not worry about it...
- don flamenco: grass types
it goes without saying that this man has a roserade for his ace, as well as an equally powerful arboliva. maybe carmen is one of his gym trainers, or perhaps she's only there to cheer him on? and do you think he would acquire a shiny roserade for his title defense fight to match his all-black look?
elite four (world circuit):
- aran ryan: bug types
what an absolute bug of a man. starting off the elite four strong with a not-so-strong type, aran ryan chose the generation 7 bug type vikavolt to be his ace. he also has a shedinja, which sports the electric tera type and the air balloom item in his title defense fight. really? (for non-pokemon nerds, this setup makes it nearly unkillable. it's practically cheating!) aran has a questionable background, and seems to have been affiliated with some shady people in the past...
- soda popinski: water types
mister popinski has a love for both water and ice types, and he's in luck because a good few pokemon are both! his ace is one of those, that being walrein. he also has a lapras. he's quite fond of giving his team the soda pop item as opposed to normal healing items during battle.
- bald bull: fire types
red is the color of anger, and also the color of the fire type, so naturally this angry man would gravitate towards fire types, especially the fire type bull that is paldean taurous. he also uses a magmortar. of course bald bull isn't angry ALL the time, and spends his free time relaxing with his pokemon. warm pokemon give warm hugs :]
- super macho man: dragon types
of course everyone's "favorite" show-off uses what's generally regarded as one of the most powerful types. his ace is a kommo-o, a very cool one at that. (i like smm and i like kommo-o. but it works!) he also has an appletun, which was a gift to him from a certain someone... oh my god, this au lets macho man literally release the beast. amazing.
the champion (mr. sandman)
sandman does not use just one type, as is the case with most champions. he has a gengar and a musharna, for obvious reasons. he also has a crabominable and and a hydrapple. he was mysteriously missing after mac defeated the elite four, but i'm sure he'll come back soon. right?
i'm sure nothing bad will happen ;)
feel free to suggest ideas for this au, i still need to flesh out all of the teams so i am welcome to input :3
#punch out#pokemon#ymgh rambles#popkmnau#<- tag for the au#dont worry about the purple text :)))#(it relates to the evil team & plot which i'll make a different post about)#also yes i am hinting at exactly what you think by giving smm and sandy applin evos :3#i love them your honor#hi morning riley here- i wrote most of this when i was super tired so if the post sucks thats why 😭#unfortunately the best format for me to get my ideas down in is rambling in a discord server#(which is how this au got created#naturally)

A Father's Resolve - Ch 13
Ingo returns after a decade - with two extra cars in tow. Years later, his kids are swallowed up by time in the same way he was. Will he be able to find them? Will they be able to make it out alive?
Word Count: 2700
Rei ended up being ordered to stay in the village for three days to rest his elbow. The first day he spent just resting in his bed, floating along the line of consciousness. It reminded him of summer vacations when he would be allowed to just sleep when Dad and Uncle Emmet had gone to work and he and Akari were allowed to be watched by Haxorus or Excadrill.
The second day he went a little stir-crazy. He left the room to wander the village. Akari had no desire to leave just yet, but he didn’t mind. In fact, he kind of wanted some time by himself. He couldn’t leave the village without an escort and he had no desire to talk to people, so instead, he asked if he could enter the pastures. The woman who ran them raised her eyebrows, but did not ask questions.
He ended up lying in the grass, his arms stretched out in the sun. Several Bidoof, Buizel, and a couple Shinx lay beside him, all soaking up the sunshine. The alpha Kriketune from that big fight wandered over at one point and took up a position too. Rei sighed in contentment and let out his team to lay with him. While he lay, his mind wandered.
The sun crept across the cloudless expanse of blue above him. He was warm and cozy as the grass and the small sparks from the Shinx tickled his skin. He sighed. Was Dad okay? He really hoped he hadn’t noticed their absence yet. And Uncle Emmet, too. Rei had heard stories about how bad Uncle Emmet had gotten during Dad’s disappearance, though he supposed he could understand. If Akari had just vanished into thin air, Rei would have lost his mind. But then if Dad had noticed he’d lost not one, but both kids…? Rei had no idea how that would go.
Then he started thinking about teams. He needed to structure a new team for Hisui, as he only had Topsy Turvy with him now and it didn’t seem that Mandibuzz were native in this region and he didn’t want to reveal her to anyone. Campfire was a must. The Eevee, which he had taken to calling Blitz, was certainly a good idea. So long as he didn’t accidentally show it a Fire Stone, he won’t have an extra fire type. He thought about Lord Wyrdeer. Honestly, he was super cool. A Psychic type would be good too… Rei glanced to his left, at the Stantler that was trotting around the pasture, grazing. He had no idea how it evolved, but it would likely prove to be a strong ally… Spark Plug could help round things out in the meantime and take care of the overabundance of Flying and Water-types he ran into. Those Staravia were menaces.
Rei sat up and stretched his back. He stood, trying not to disturb any pokemon. He recalled his team and swapped a couple balls with the attendant before leaving. He took a deep breath as he considered the next step. Perhaps it was time to see what moves they could learn…
He made the trek across camp, running into a person or two that had a request for him. One wanted to use a Geodude as a pickling stone, whatever that was. Another asked him if she could see the completed dex entry for Starly. Finally, he made it to his destination. The gates of the dojo stretched overhead, and inside, he saw who he was looking for. He just had to play it cool.
“Hi. Uh… Zisu.” Arceus, why did he sound so awkward?
If she noticed, she made no indication. She looked around from what she was doing. It seemed like she had been polishing a pokeball with a cloth. “Hello, there, Faller! What can I help ya with today?” She smiled brightly at him as she stood, brushing off her kimono and crossing her arms. Arceus, he’d forgotten how tall she was. Rei knew he was tall for his age, and she simply towered over him.
“I wanted to teach my pokemon some new moves,” he squeaked.
“Of course! Let’s see who ya got.” She paid close attention to each and every pokemon he sent out - even if it was only four. She scratched her chin as she looked at the selection. “I bet I could teach that one Rock Smash. Look at those arms. They may be small, but I bet they pack a punch,” she grinned, pointing at Campfire. “And the Eevee is small. That’s not a bad thing, but it can play to how cute it is. Baby-Doll Eyes can make opponents lower their guard so it can sneak in some extra attacks.” She glazed over Spark Plug and the new Stantler. “Surprisingly, I feel like I can teach you Bulldozer and Swift, among other things. I know Ground moves can be useful out there,” she gestured to Stantler. “And as for you… Look at those teeth! And you are already a master of electricity. Fire Fang and Ice Fang. You’d take to it like a Psyduck to water.”
A few minutes later, Rei had new moves on his teammates, which made him feel much more relaxed. That scene of his entire team being cut down by Kleavor in seconds had been replaying over and over in his head. He had a Fighting move and a Ground move now, so hopefully Rock-mons wouldn’t be as much of an issue. “Thank you, Zisu. I think this will help a lot.”
She grinned at him in a way that reminded him of his sister. “Anytime, newbie. Tell me if you need anything else!”
Rei could feel a soft smirk coming onto his face as he began to walk away. “Say,” he began, turning back to face her, “might you be up to a battle?”
“A battle?” She rubbed her chin again. “Unfortunately I have an appointment with the Captain in just a few minutes, otherwise I would. Come back anytime and I’ll take you up on that, though! I’ll make sure to go easy on ya. My pokemon are quite strong.” Her easy smile never left her face, even when she flicked her hair out of her face. Rei nodded and left the dojo with his team in his pockets to head back home to his sister.
The third day he spent drawing. He hadn’t been able to properly draw ever since Unova, he hadn’t had his sketchbook on him when he’d been taken. For every pokemon they had registered, he sat in the pastures, this time with his sister who was now getting sick of being alone in the home, and drew them in as much detail as he could. Even though Laventon took photographs of every single species, Rei found that there was something special about capturing them by hand.
If only his sister would understand this concept. “I still don’t get why you insist on drawing every single species. There have to be like two-hundred species in this region or something. You’re really gonna draw them all?” She looked up at the sky as she asked him, only glancing down to view his latest drawing at the end of her question.
“Yeah.”
“Laventon takes pictures of them, though.”
“I know.”
“Then why? It takes forever.”
“Because I like doing it,” he sighed, shutting the book. He looked apologetically at the Burmy that had attached itself to the branch above him so he could draw it. “Though if you’re gonna throw a fit, I guess I can make more balls.”
“I’m not throwing a fit. I’m just confused,” she huffed, crossing her arms as well as she could in a pout. The bandages somewhat restricted her movement at the shoulder. “I just don’t get why you do it.”
“Because I want to, Akari. Haven’t you ever heard of doing stuff for fun?”
“You know it’s just weird for me to think of art as fun,” she retorted. Rei rolled his eyes. It was true that he was the more artistically inclined of the two. “It’s hard and takes a long time.”
“You don’t have to enjoy it, you know. No one is making you draw them,” he argued as he began to cut away at an apricorn. “All I ask is you don’t get mad at me drawing them.”
“I’m not mad,” she huffed again.
“You sound a little mad.”
“I’m going to go mad listening to you all day.”
“You’re the one who decided to come with me.”
“Yeah, and I’m starting to regret it.”
Rei looked up at her. “I’m not keeping you here, you know.”
She didn’t look at him as she continued. “Yeah, but then I’d be lonely. Your poor baby sister, all alone.”
“We’re the same exact age,” Rei retorted, his eyeballs rolling so far he thought they might escape his head.
“I’m older than you by three minutes. Dad said so.”
“Then how can you be my baby sister?”
They continued on like this for a while longer, eventually lapsing into silence. Akari settled with petting an Eevee that had curled up in her lap. She watched the sky, watching the clouds roll by as Rei carved more and more balls. By the time he had hit about fifty, he went back to drawing. The Kriketune had joined them and as it was rather aloof, he wanted to take this time to draw it properly. He had most of it sketched and was shading with the piece of charcoal when Akari spoke again. “Do you think… they’re okay? Everyone at home?”
Rei was silent as he shaded in one of the long arms. “Probably?”
“What if they did find out we were gone?” Her voice dipped in pitch as she gave in to a half-whisper. “What if we can’t get back a few seconds after we disappeared? And Dad and Uncle Emmet can’t find us? What if to them, we disappeared?”
Rei didn’t say anything for a minute. He finished the Kriketune and closed the dex. “Well… they won’t be okay. But they’d figure it out. Like Uncle Emmet did.”
“Rei, Dad was gone for ten years. That’s the only option he had.”
“Well, we won’t be gone that long.” Rei set his pokedex to the side and leaned back against the tree. “All we need to do is finish the dex and then Arceus said it would send us home. And that won’t take ten years.”
“We have no idea how long it’ll take. We don’t know how many pokemon there are,” Akari pointed out. “And what if it doesn’t mean just ancient Sinnoh? What if we get taken to another region after this?”
“I kinda doubt that,” Rei said.
“But we don’t know.”
“Then text it.” Rei sat up, pointing to her satchel that had the Arc Phone. “It texted us one time, remember? Doesn’t that suggest that we can text it back?”
Akari blinked, seemingly at war with herself. “I can’t tell if you’re a moron or a genius,” she remarked as she pulled out the phone. She tapped on the screen a couple times as Rei leaned in to look. She pulled up the chat.
Seek out all Pokemon. Under that chat, there was a textbar. And when tapped, it brought up a keyboard with the alphabet on it. The Hisuian alphabet. “Well I’ll be darned…” she muttered as she typed out a message.
Arceus, right? This is you? We were wondering… after we finish the dex, we get to go home, right? We won’t go anywhere else?
They waited for a moment. Then, a new text in gold showed up, like the first.
Seek out all Pokemon.
She blinked and then typed out a new message.
Yeah, that’s the plan. Can you tell us how many pokemon there are, at least?
Another new message popped up after it, saying the same: Seek out all Pokemon.
“Well that was helpful,” she sighed sarcastically as she put the phone away. Rei shrugged.
“Was worth a shot.”
“This didn’t really help me with worrying about Dad, though.” She nervously rubbed the Eevee’s head, between the ears.
“We can’t really do much about it,” Rei pointed out. “All we can do is what Arceus said. We seek out all pokemon. We go home. If we don’t, we raise a big stink about it. It chose us for a reason, right?”
“I guess…” Akari sighed to herself again. She was clearly not satisfied with the answer, but truthfully, neither was Rei.

Two weeks since the first time Ingo had tried going to work by himself, and now he refused to go without Emmet. It seemed Emmet's presence made other passengers back off from his brother. Perhaps it was the sharp gaze he would pierce them with. Maybe it was his looser tongue, or his lack of hesitancy to kick people out for prying. Or perhaps Ingo was just too polite. Whatever it was, focusing on Multi Battles seemed to keep unwarranted questions off.
Emmet sat in their office, Ingo at his desk beside him. His brother bit into an apple as he read some papers on his desk. Emmet was munching on some chips as he scrolled his phone. Their hats sat on their desks, their short hair allowed to breathe for a bit as they enjoyed their lunches.
A depot agent entered the room after a quick knock, asking Ingo a question about one of the electrical boxes.
A notification sounded on Emmet's phone. He tapped the message. It was from his uncle.
How have you both been? Sorry to disturb you at work.
Emmet glanced between the two people in the room. He was not a part of the conversation, and so began to type.
You caught me at a good time, its lunch. We're alright. Ingo isnt really normal but he is somewhat enjoying battles. His praise to challengers seems more genuine lately.
Emmet took another bite of his sandwich as the little bubble popped up as his uncle responded. He must also be on his lunch break.
That's great! Genuinely. It is good to hear you both are doing well.
I recently got a message from someone in that large chat Iris made for me. The one I told you both about a couple of weeks ago. She seems quite keen on speaking with you both.
Emmet knitted his brow slightly, putting down his food and typing with both hands. Is it about the kids?
The reply came quickly. Seems so. She is in Sinnoh, but offered a video call. Is there a good time I can tell her?
Emmet looked at his brother. He was laughing about something the agent had said, his apple mostly gone. The clock stated they still had five hours left of their shift.
After work should be good. We get off around 7:30 and can be home by 8. Emmet nonchalantly put down his phone and grabbed his sandwich again, making sure to smooth out his face into his normal smiling expression. He took another bite of sandwich.
Sounds good. I'm surprised Ingo isn't insisting that you leave this very moment.
Emmet glanced up one more time, typing out one last message as the agent left, then clicking the button on the side of the device and making the screen go black. Don't tell him yet. They aren't going anywhere.
“Who was that, Emmet? You seemed perplexed.” Ingo took out a packaged cookie and began to unwrap it.
“Uncle. He was telling me about a trainer he met earlier with a peculiar team.” This was not exactly a lie, as he had also mentioned a trainer with an unusual team earlier that day.
“Ah, you must tell me about it-” The alarm on Ingo's phone went off. Lunch was over. Ingo sighed as he stood, Emmet doing the same. His back popped audibly as he stretched. Arceus, he was getting old.
“I will tell you all about it after our shift,” Emmet vowed. He would ensure to tell his brother about the texts… Once he was sure the day was over.

A Rocky Start! - Team Objective plays Pokemon Emerald
[Back to our next objective...]
GEODUDE! It’s…a completely average rock pokemon.
And by that I mean it’s BEAUTIFUL!
Sadly, I have to fight my way through these gym trainers in order to have a word with the leader. I promise it’s nothing personal, you wonderful rocks!
Miss Roxanne, can I say you’re looking gorgeous today? I’m not here for a battle, just a few words. If you could tell me where to find rock pokemon like the geodude your entire gym trainer entourage seems to have, I’ll be on my way and will return for a battle once I have a proper team-
Wait-NO-NOT NOW, I do NOT have the pokemon I wish to use yet-
Dang it.
I suppose I will have to prove myself to her first, then. Go on then, Intern.
NOSEPASS…what a fascinating object! Is it some sort of statue, come to life, or was it naturally formed in this shape…? I must find one for myself!
Well, that got a bit dicey at times. Just goes to show the strength of object pokemon!
One badge for my trainer card…seven more to go. Oh, yeah, also, for some reason the trainer cards in this region only allow for seven characters, so I had to shorten my name a bit. Pay it no mind.
Roxanne informed me that several rock pokemon can be captured on Dewford Island, south of here…how am I supposed to get to an island-huh?
Oh this pathetic man. Did he seriously get robbed again?
Fine. I suppose I will help.
Hm. I am…not sure how to feel about my first evolution being a non-object pokemon, but I suppose congratulations are in order. Good work, Intern.
What. Is a peeko. Is that an object pokemon.
(it was not an object pokemon.)
Yes, sir, here is your peeko, which is just that seagull thing again. I kicked the guys’ butt and sent him running home from this cave to nowhere. …What kind of self-respecting cave doesn’t have a SINGLE object ‘mon in it?
…Sea? Sir, are you perhaps…A sailor? I may have to take your offer up at once!
...
So, update-the pathetic guy brought me to his boss, asked me to do some menial task, said something to me that I SWEAR was flirting, and then his boss gave me some OTHER menial task to give a letter to some guy named Steven Stone. And now apparently there’s ANOTHER evil team running about! What an absolute mess.
…Oh well. If the man is named Stone, he can’t be all bad.
BRENDAN LEAVE ME ALOOOOOOOOOONE
Yes! Yes sir, please take me across the ocean to the cave of our first object pokemon…I can nearly taste them on the ocean air…
I do not care what is in this tiny island town right now i am going to the cave
HERE WE GO
YES…YES!!!!!!!!!!! JOIN ME, GEODUDE
As the first true stepping stone on our journey, her name shall be StepStone. ...She will grow legs eventually.
And deeper in this cave we find…hm.
I’m aware this pokemon has gemstones in its body, but it’s because it EATS gemstones, and I’ve even heard in other regions it consumes a gemstone pokemon! Scary stuff! Either way. I’m doubtful at including it as an object ‘mon.
Maybe not now, but I’ll consider it. What do you all think? ...assuming anyone’s giving me the time of day…
Now Aron…this is a creature with, and I quote, a “body of steel!” It WILL be joining us!
“Bulwark; a defensive wall!” Welcome to the team, friend!
Hmmm…two quirky, sturdy buds. Wonderful!
And with that…I shall take my leave for now. Until next time, followers! For the object pokemon, we are TEAM OBJECTIVE!

Enemy of my Enemy
This is the story of Volo first making contact with Giratina. Though their friendship quickly blossoms, the help of a deity does not come without a price.
---
The further Volo traveled into Turnback Cave, the more sure he was that this was the place he'd been seeking. The tome he'd bought off a merchant from his homeland had described a cave in which the physical realm lay dangerously close to the realm beyond. This cave certainly felt otherworldly with the way the rocks and earth shimmered and the dry ground yielded slightly too much under his feet, and how much bigger it seemed on the inside than the outside. And both the Celestica runes he'd investigated and the local folks had told him of the labyrinth within that had earned the cave its name. When one found themselves in Turnback Cave, the only way to survive was to turn back immediately.
Volo's growlithe barrelled towards him and rubbed against his legs, whining and looking up at him in hopes of getting fed, or at least getting a treat for keeping the wild zubats and geodudes at bay. "Sorry, little one," Volo said, "I don't have anything to give you."
They'd been in this cave for three days, and Volo's supply of food had run out yesterday. He was in so deep that turning back had left him just as lost. Maybe he should have heeded the warnings of the clan members when they'd told him to turn back. Maybe he was about to become one of the many lorekeepers who'd died here, hungry and deceived by how small the cave looked from the outside. But there was one thing left that he was willing to try.
"Giratina?" Volo called out, "I've come seeking you out. I want to make a deal."
A rumble sounded from within the cave, followed by a deep voice that Volo could hear within his head. Tell me your intent, it demanded.
Volo waved his lantern around, but it illuminated nothing but empty tunnel. "Well, I want to meet Arceus," Volo explained. "I want to know why the world is as unfair as it is, and if there isn't a good reason for it, I want to overthrow Arceus and fix it. I heard that Arceus locked you away for a very long time, so I thought you might understand. You do understand, don't you?"
Hmm... came the voice. Then there was a pause that to Volo seemed to last an eternity.
Suddenly, a tunnel opened up before Volo, perpendicular to the one he'd been hiking down.
Come, said Giratina.
Volo started down the path at a jog, his growlithe running ahead of him. The further he went down the tunnel, the more the rocks shimmered as though covered in a plasma veil, and the more the ground gave beneath his feet.
The tunnel then opened up to a room with a high ceiling and a sight Volo would never forget. Against the far wall and behind what looked like a purple force field, an enormous worm-like creature floated a few feet above the ground. A golden crown making up its face, the grey and red serpent was decorated with golden rings of armour. Black tendrils of shadow stretched from its back, each tipped with a blood-red claw. It didn't look exactly like the creature Volo had seen depicted in ruined temples, but was similar enough that there was no mistaking it. And its beady red eyes were focused on him.
Volo dropped to one knee before the creature. "Giratina. At last we meet. I've come seeking your service. I'd like to collect the eighteen plates of life so that I can converse with Arceus, and if you would help, I would be eternally grateful."
You need not kneel, Giratina said. I do not seek worship. It seems as though we are natural allies. I doubt that you will find the answers you seek in Arceus, but I will gladly help you reach It if it means I may have a chance to dethrone It. However, there is something I need help with first.
Volo rose to his feet. "And what would that be?"
As you have heard, I was banished to this realm. You must help me to escape it. There is a golden stone in this room- the griseous core. Pick it up.
Volo peered around, found a jagged golden rock, picked it up, and looked to Giratina for further instruction.
Now, you must touch me, Giratina ordered, pressing his shadowy tentacle against the barrier.
“Will do,” Volo replied. He returned his growlithe and set down his pokéballs- no need for his Pokémon to get hurt if this turned out to be a grievous mistake. Then, he took a deep breath and touched the barrier.
The barrier felt like several inches of thick wax, but with effort, Volo forced his hand through it. He grabbed onto Giratina's claw and was pulled through with ease.
Volo regained his footing. Now that he was past the barrier, he could see the environment in which Giratina dwelled- a strange world of endless purple skies, floating islands with strange geometries, and no life as far as the eye could see save for some bare trees and sickly flowers. "My..." Volo said. "So this is the place you've been spending the past few centuries, huh? It hardly looks like a pleasant place to spend such a long time.."
Not centuries. Millennia, Giratina corrected. But I would guess that you're much the same. Of all people I expected here, a Celestica was not one of them. Has Arceus wronged you as well?
"It certainly seems so. I'm one of the last Celesticas."
Giratina straightened up in surprise. One of the last? When I was sealed away, they were thriving. They were Arceus' chosen.
"Yes. Apparently not anymore." Volo laughed bitterly.
Ha. Then we do have something in common. I am Arceus' child, and yet he treats me worse than he treats his creations. No matter how many times I try to apologize, it's as though he doesn't hear.
"And I keep doing what the old faith tells me to, but it hasn't gotten me anywhere. It's as though he forgot all about us."
Sometimes, I wonder if he has. But your plan to gather the plates... that will work. I am sure of it. At any rate, the task at hand...
Giratina touched the griseous core with one of its tendrils, but nothing happened.
Hmm… it seems that Arceus put a seal on the stone as well. That is... unfortunate.
Giratina paused for a moment as it seemed to consider its options. Then its eyes fell upon Volo.
Would you do anything for your goal? Giratina asked coolly.
Volo met Giratina's eyes nervously, not knowing what to expect. But he'd come so far, and he had so little to return to. "Yes, of course, anything," he said.
Very well, Giratina said. Then, it touched Volo between his mouth and nose with one of its tendrils. The frigid smoke-like substance began to seep into Volo's nostrils, and then within seconds Giratina turned to smoke and entered Volo through his nose, mouth, eyes, ears, and pores, overwhelming him until he was knocked flat on the ground, spasming from the sheer amount of power and substance his body had been made to absorb. He felt simultaneously like he was being frozen from the inside and as though his body might burst like a burlap sack stuffed with too much cargo.
Go to the physical world, Giratina instructed.
Volo tried to think past the pain and understand what that meant.
Your world, the other side of the barrier! Giratina explained urgently.
Volo rose unsteadily to his feet and staggered to the boundary between worlds. It was harder coming through this time, as though the wax had thickened. As he permeated the outer barrier, he felt something begin to shatter around him- like a thin sheet of ice.
Evidently, Giratina had felt it, too. Yes, YES! the creature roared, a vibration that Volo could feel from within.
Once on the other side of the barrier, Volo dropped to his hands and knees. The griseous core he'd been holding tumbled onto the ground beside him.
Giratina tore out of Volo's body through his eye and touched the griseous core, brushing away the damaged barrier with ease before he'd even come out of its origin form, halting the process. Another touch allowed it to transform him into his worldly, altered form. Oh, yes! It worked! Giratina roared, dropping onto its new legs. The barrier is broken! My thanks, Hu-
It was then that Giratina looked back at Volo and saw the sorry state he was in. He was nearly unconscious and laying on his side, groaning as he held a blood-stained hand over his left eye. Volo pulled his hand away for a moment and saw that it was covered not just in blood, but a jelly-like substance that moments before had been contained in his eyeball. And he screamed. And screamed. And screamed.
"What did you do!?" Volo shouted, rising to his knees and looking up at the diety with terror.
Giratina struggled to find words. It knew what had happened: in its rush to see if the barrier was broken, he'd put too much pressure on a small, delicate part of Volo's body, and this had been the result.
I... I was reckless. The barrier is broken, so we will not have to do that ever again. Please, let me help you, human, Giratina replied.
Volo tried to rise to his feet, but stumbled. "Go ahead," he said weakly, probably feeling as though he had no other choice.
With its beak-like mouth, Giratina picked Volo up by his backpack and placed him on its back. It opened up a path straight to the outside, gently flew out, and plucked a branch full of sitrus berries from a nearby tree. It craned its neck back to hand Volo the berries.
It is these that heal you, right?
Volo opened his eyelids weakly. Giratina hung its head when it saw again the bloody mess it had caused.
"Yes, that's the healing stuff," Volo said, putting some enthusiasm into his tired voice. He picked two of the sitrus berries and ate them, juice running down his face. Giratina put down the branch and took a bite of the sitrus tree as well.
Mmm... not bad! Much tastier than antimatter. Are there any other berries in this area?
Volo slid off of Giratina's back, looking haunted but a little more energetic now.
"Indeed there is," he said, surprisingly calmly given the situation. "You don't know much about this world, do you? Well, I'll just have to show you, then. But... not right now. Going through that barrier tuckered me right out. Can you make sure that no one disturbs us?"
Yes, Giratina promised. I will make sure no one comes near enough to see us.
"Thanks."
Giratina laid down in the shade of the trees and watched as Volo dug through his backpack, took out some bandages, and wrapped them around his head to cover his bleeding eye. When Volo was done, he laid against Giratina's side, intending to fall asleep. Giratina wrapped in his head and tail and prepared to do the same.
I'm sorry about your eye.
Volo was quiet for a long time before he responded, but he kept a casual tone when he did. "It's quite alright. I didn't expect that the help of a deity would come cheap. And once we meet Arceus, I'm sure that restoring an eye will be the least It can do."
Ha. Can, perhaps, but will It? That I doubt.
"In that case, once we enslave It and use Its powers to recreate the world, making a new eye will be the least of our concerns."
Now that, I can see.

If you were to make some characters of your choice pokemon gym leaders what would their teams be like?
Ok I always Love Pokemon themed asks so I got a Little carried away on this one. I decided to make pro-heroes, 1A, and villains each their own league of eight gyms! Each one has their position (first gym you encounter, second gym you encounter, etc), their type, and team!
Pro-Heroes
The first gym is Edgeshot, who uses steel types due to ninjas using swords, and his ability to become extremely sharp. He uses a single Honedge as steel is a more powerful type, so I figured giving him 1+ Pokemon would be unfair
For the second gym we have Snipe, who uses ground types due to him being a cowboy, which are generally associated with the American mid/south west and Mexico, which are mostly desert or farmlands. He uses Mudbray, as it evolves into a horse, and Silicobra, as its evolution is based in part on sidewinders (a snake from Mexico and the American Southwest) and double-barreled guns
The third gym would be Present Mic, who uses normal types as it is used as a catchall for sound based Pokemon. He uses Chatot, Loudred, and Jigglypuff all for their relation to sound/singing
The fourth gym is Aizawa, who uses dark types. I'm gonna be honest this was purely a choice of vibes. He uses an Alolan Persian and Purrloin because I couldn't not give him cats, and Morgrem due to it and Grimmsnarl using their hair similar to how Aizawa uses his scarf
Midnight is the fifth gym, and she uses poison types. I was between fairy and poison for her, but went with poison as her quirk kind of acts like an air-borne toxin, and I wanted to give her Salazzle. That being said, she uses Salazzle because Look At It, and Roselia and Glimmora for their pretty, floral looks as her quirk reminds me a lot of the move sweet scent, which is learned by a lot of grass types/flower-based Pokemon
Hawks is up next as the sixth gym, with flying types. Honestly I was pretty uninspired when it came to him, so he has Pidgeot, Swellow, and Talonflame as they're all powerful and/or fast birds that share one or all of their colors with him
Next up is All Might as the seventh gym leader with fighting types, due to his physical strength and fighting style, as well as the fighting type being known for having a lot of "just" Pokemon. He uses Machoke for its appearance, Falinks for their skilled and organized fighting style, and Lucario and Gallade for their just and knightly attributes
Finally Endeavor is the eighth gym leader, and of course uses fire types. His team is exclusively based on physically large and powerful Pokemon, because lets be real thats all he gives a shit about. He uses Magmortar, Emboar, Incineroar, and Camerupt
Class 1A
The first gym is Kirishima, who uses Rock types. He uses Geodude and Rockruff for reasons of them being neat little guys who I think he'd like
The second gym is Iida, who uses Steel types. His only Pokemon is Skarmory, due to it being on the faster end of steel types and sharing a similar color scheme to Iida. Like Edgeshot, he only uses one Pokemon since its so powerful so early on
For the third gym we have Uraraka who uses fairy types as many have magic that can make things float, and they overall match her vibe. She uses Togetic, as I wanted to give her a dual flying type, and Clefable
Kaminari is the fourth gym with electric types. He uses Pikachu (who hasn't seen him called Pikachu before?), as well as Blitzle and Electabuzz as I feel they fit his style and color scheme
The fifth gym is Mina, who uses poison types. Her Pokemon were honestly picked entirely on vibes; she uses Sliggoo, Galarian Slowbro, and Toxapex
Tokoyami is the sixth gym leader with dark types. He uses Honchkrow and Mandibuzz for the bird theme. He also uses a Lokix due to its showdown form. It reminds me a lot of dark shadow as it becomes much stronger but takes a toll on its body, similar to how dark shadow can really strain Tokoyami
The seventh gym, is Midoriya, who uses normal types. I know people usually associate him with fighting types, but I thought it would be cool to give him normal types - he'd be the type to give a chance to one of the weaker types. His team mostly revolves around the Pokemons' personalities. He uses Kangaskhan, as its willing to injure itself to defend its family, Blissey as it attempts to help any person or Pokemon it can, and Lopunny as it looks cute but is a powerful fighter
Finally Todoroki is the eighth gym, and uses ice types. I went with ice since he originally used exclusively ice, but all of his Pokemon have a connection to fire types. He uses Alolan Ninetales, whose regular form is a fire type, Galarian Darmanitan, which is ice/fire type, Glaceon, who is related to the fire type Flareon, and Snowy Form Castform, who can turn into the fire type sunny form
Villains
The first gym is Toga, who uses fairy types simply because she thinks theyre cute. She uses Impidimp for its mischievous personality and Spritzee as she finds it cute (also that whole thing with the bird when she was a kid)
The second gym is Muscular with fighting types. He uses a Mankey due to its extremely aggressive temperament, and Machop since Machoke and Machamp sort of look like him
Mr Compress is the third gym leader with psychic types. He uses Kadabra since its based on common real life magicians/magic acts, and Spoink since its pearl is the source of its power similar to how Compress's power is his marbles
Kurogiri is the fourth gym leader and he uses ghost types. He uses Spiritomb due to its resemblance to him, and Yamask as it was formerly a human, the same way he was
The fifth gym leader is Geten with ice type Pokemon. He uses Glalie (I think Snorunt looks like him), as well as Sneasel and Cloyster since theyre powerful and darker/aggressive than a lot of other ice types
Magne is the sixth gym leader and she uses steel types. Her Pokemon are Magneton for its relation to magnets, Tinkatuff for using its hammer how she uses her magnetic pillar, and Metang
The seventh gym is Shigaraki, who uses dark types. He has a Zweilous, as its evolution is known for acting out aggressively due to being disliked/outcast. He also uses Bomberdier for its very childish behavior, and Malamar as it controls others and influences historic events
Finally is Dabi who uses fire types. I wanted him to almost be a dual fire/ghost type user, as a lot of ghost types fit his darker theme, or feelings of abandonment. He uses Alolan Marowak, Chandelure, Houndoom and Ceruledge

Request Jaime Reyes in Pokemon Arceus setting for dammit hedgi day
Jaime carefully adjusted the satchel that the supply corps had issued him a little lower on his back, so that it wouldn’t press against Khaji Da. It was certainly strange. It looked like standard canvas, the kind of thing tourists wore to hold their valuables, only bulkier. It wouldn’t fit under clothes, that was for sure. It was also easy enough to take off and drop before the Scarab’s armor ate it.
“I do not eat your clothing,” Khaji Da said, when he pointed that out.
“Yeah, well, it goes somewhere doesn’t it? Anyways. I’m just glad this thing fits…way more than it should.” He was already spending most of the money he got for catching pokemon for the professor on clothes. It helped that he could store a couple of spare pairs of pants and kimono-like tops in the waist-pouch, on top of all of the pokeballs, potion bottles, and snacks.
“Like the pokeballs, it appears to be a hyperspace pocket,” Khaji Da explained. “Alert. There is a large Luxio approaching from your left.”
“Oh, gatito enojado.” Jaime grumbled, getting ready to dodge. The pulse of lighting crashed down where he’d been, turning parts of the sandy soil into a much more glassy soil than Jaime was comfortable with. Even Less Comforting was Khaji’s ‘helpful’ note on just how powerful the strike had been. Back home, it could have powered the neighborhood for a night.
“Suggested course of action: deploy wings.”
“Yeah, but we still gotta find out what this thing’s weak to, for the Professor’s notes.”
“According to my data, Luxio and associated creatures are weak to: plasma blasts.”
“And what else?” Jaime asked, ducking behind a rock formation. “Specifically things that other people here can use?”
“The one we saw earlier did not handle the rockslide caused by the: Geodude trying to kill us very well.”
“Great. Rock type stuff. Good. See, that’s the kind of thing I can report back without us getting kicked out of the village. Between your observations and my, uh… not dying, we’ll have this pokedex thing done in no time.”
“Indeed. Deploying pokeball now?” Khaji Da waited for Jaime to throw the ball at the confused Luxio. The orb, unfathomably made of a fruit husk and a bit of polished stone, let out a spark as it locked. Jaime retrieved it. Jaime had impressed the professor who’d found them, and his assistant Akari, with his aim. He had not let on that Khaji Da had shown him a display calculating the exact trajectory of the pokeball. While the Professor seemed more along the lines of Jenny’s dad than her aunt, he wasn’t inclined to take any risks, especially not with the grumpy captain and commander of the village who already mistrusted him for having the misfortune to fall out of the sky.
“So, are we keeping this one?” he asked.
“Negative, Jaime. It attempted your murder.”
“Angry kitty,” Jaime sighed again. “Most of them do, Khaji. We’re going to need some pokemon on our team at some point, or Zizu is going to get suspicious.”
“We can have pokemon that do not attempt to do you harm,” Khaji relented.
“Starly and Bidoof are not going to cut it, hermano.”
“That is why you have me. I suggest turning east. Notes from other sources [*evesdropping on Akari] suggest some kind of horse lives on the plains. Perhaps they will be…friendlier.”
The horse, actually a 20 foot tall fire-breathing unicorn, had Not Been Friendlier. Jaime had waved off the Galaxy Team Nurse’s offer to look at the burn on his shoulder, retreating to the ‘room’ that Captain Cyllene had issued him. As much as he wanted to go home--he missed his family and knew they had to be worried-- he had to admit, he wasn’t going to find a studio apartment as nice as this one for the price of ‘go look at wildlife and tell us about it after’ in Palmera.
As long as no one found out about Khaji Da, this wasn’t the worst way to spend a summer.
#dammit hedgi day 2023#See i can be nice!#i mean of course they DO find out about Khaji and it goes REAL BAD but i didn't write that part because I'm nice!#Blue Beetle#Khaji Da#Jaime Reyes#Pokemon AU

Battle Mechanic Concept: Aura Fusion
I posted about this months ago, but here’s a better example of what I was talking about. It’s essentially Terastilization with extra steps; a Pokémon faints to give a compatible party member a power boost and one of nine Fusion Types. Most only get an effect added on, but a select few get a new form entirely. Aura Fusion converts moves into a new move, Dynamax style, based on the preexisting Type and category (contact, cutting, beam, etc). This enables popular fanmade Types to become a reality without having to permanently retcon prior Pokémon.
A Fire Type giving a boost to a Rock Type or vice versa replaces the corresponding type with the Light Type (Fire/Rock Types like Magcargo become pure Light). Light Types typically invoke either jewelry, radiation, or angels.
Fusion Diancie evokes the look of her Mega while taking her in a more “rebellious princess” style.
Coalossal riffs on the old “coal to diamonds” myth, and between his stubby legs, massive crown, and back protrusion, he looks downright kingly.
Geodude takes a page from Graveler and finally starts to live up to his name, becoming a living geode.
Charizard joins the list of Godzilla expies because I welcome our vermilion reptilian overlord.
Charcadet takes the best from his evolutions and looks positively radiant.
Volcarona isn’t too drastic a change, he just gets the extra eyes to tie together the angel and moth motifs. He’s also far fluffier.
Houndoom gets a full on redemption arc and also adopts the angel look. His interlocking horns might be a bit much, but eh. That’s afterlife.
Finally, Glimmora, whose body structure’s flipped a bit and is wearing a very familiar emblem atop her head…
My only concern is balancing. Geodude and Charcadet are obviously far weaker than the others here, so I could probably just give them each a preset BST rather than a strengthening them by a set amount like the Megas. And don’t worry, the item used to access the unique fuses forms doubles as an Everstone for them.

GYM BATTLE- Julia
A recorded match of a gym battle. Watch it? ----
[VIDEO: The footage is taken from a camera hanging above the room. A large battle court is displayed, with flashing glass tiles that light up yellow in a moving pattern. A green-haired girl in a cheerleader costume stands at the back, under an array of hot pink banners that spell out "KABOOM!!!" in bold, sparkly golden letters. She bounces back and forth on her feet as the camera rotates to show Blake walking through the double doors, pink hair a bit frazzled.
"Hihi, Blake!" Julia greets the challenger eagerly. "Welcome to the Super-Duper Ultra-Hyper Electro-Dazzle Happy Boom Time House of CHEER!! You liked the gym maze I set up back there?!"
"It was certainly... explosive," Blake replies, pushing bits of their hair back into place.
"Course it was! That's what I'm all about!" she said proudly, then did a quick glance around the room. "You can just ignore all the super lame machinery junk. I need more banners! And streamers! And, hm... FIREWORKS!"
"That-" Blake knitted their brows a bit in concern. "Isn't that a safety hazard?"
"Wait, is it?" Julia slumped a bit, but then shook her head dismissively. "Oh, who cares! Anyways, don't think I'm gonna go easy on you just cause you helped us out with those Team Meteor bozos earlier! I've got pride to uphold! As former captain cheerleader, the Onyx Trainer School's honor depends on me!"
She pulls a set of yellow pom poms out, and begins to chant as she kicks her legs up and down in what looks like a cheerleader routine. "OTS, we represent! We pack a punch and don't relent!"
Without any further ado, she reaches for a Pokeball on her belt and smiles excitedly. "Alright, alright, alright, I'm wired so let's fight!!!"
The battle kicks off fairly quickly, with Julia leading in with her Minun, and Blake with Ruben. Even with a lower leveled Pokemon, Blake's long history of battle experience shines through the first few match ups- with their trusty Combusken Flame-Charging three opponents down in a row without so much as a sweat.
Eventually, a shiny Alolan Geodude comes out, so they switch to Viper. This one takes a bit more of a struggle, but the Ekans manages to narrowly slither around the rock monster's punches and wither its health down with Bite. After that, Oricorio follows- and unfortunately, Viper fumbles from the exhaustion of the last fight and gets taken down by a swift Air Cutter. Ruben's up next, though, and yet again steals the win with another Flame Charge.
Her last one up is Electrode. While Ruben's still going pretty strong, his opponent is buzzing with double the energy from the electric field affect. Ruben gets the first move from his prior speed boosts, but Electrode tanks it again and retaliates with a brutal Charge Beam.
"Hang in there, Ruben, almost done!" Blake calls out to their starter, before calling another Flame Charge.
Ruben rushes in coated in flames, landing the hit, but after getting rolled into a nearby wall Electrode still stands. It fires off another Charge Beam, and you see a flash of panic cross Blake's face- but Ruben manages to slide across the tiled floor and out of the way just in the nick of time. This time, he goes in for a Double Kick- and just like that, the match is over.
"Huh?" Julia blinks a bit in surprise as her defeated Electrode rolls pitifully past her, as if she's snapping out of a daze. "Aw, I lost already?"
"YEAH!" Blake exclaims, jumping up in triumph before rushing over to envelop their Pokemon in a hug. Ruben lets out a small coo of surprise as they pick him up and spin him around. "That was awesome, buddy! You kicked ass!"
Once the excitement of Blake and Ruben's victory settles down, Julia rubs her eyes sleepily as she recalls Electrode to its ball. "Mrrr... Whateverrr, I'm gonna go take a power nap."
"Wait-" Blake stops her just as she tosses her pom poms aside to a nearby bench and starts to trundle off. "What about my badge?"
"Hm? Oh, right." She turns towards them, then raises her head a bit in realization before digging into her pocket and flicking it to them with her thumb. "Fiiiine, take your Whatchamacolit Badge."
Blake manages to catch it, but then looks up at Julia like they were expecting there to be more. "The Thingamajigger Badge makes stuff happen," the Gym Leader mumbles on, snapping her fingers a few times like she's trying to remember something. "Aaaand it allows you to use the thing. I need coffee..."
She seems to doze off while standing for a split second, but before Blake can comment on it, her eyes snap back open. "Oh! Also, it allows you to use the move Cut outside of battle!"
"It does? How?"
"Well I mean, I think it lets ya use it legally around here, I mean," she clarifies. "Means yer a responsible enough trainer to not go chopping someone in half or somethin'. Also-also, it lets Pokemon up to level twenty-five obey you."
Blake mutters something about having already completed three gym challenges before and not needing to worry about any of that, but Julia doesn't seem to hear. "Also-also-also, take this!" She suddenly turns on her heel, extending a yellow disc sealed in a plastic container to them. "Consider it a thanks for your help earlier. Your sister can use it too, if she wants! It doesn't go boom, but it IS a useful move!"
"Oh, thanks," Blake says, looking over the TM for a moment. "Charge Beam, huh? Could come in handy if I catch an Electric-type later..."
"Aaanyways, sleepies. Good night..." Julia yawns, before collapsing onto the bench she threw her pom poms onto earlier. "Zzzz...."
Blake stares awkwardly at her for a moment, seeming perplexed at just how fast she conked out. They share a look with Ruben, before shrugging and turning around to make their exit from the gym.]

--- [ATTACHED: A video, taken from Goldie's wristwatch.
They're walking down a dark, narrow corridor leading through Mt. Moon. Lizzie leads the way, her tail flame providing a dim orange glow to illuminate the rocky path ahead.
As the two trek forward, you listen to the sound of water dripping from stalactites above, and the occasional chattering of Zubat overhead. Every now and then, you see the outline of a Geodude or Clefairy move in the shadows, watching the trainer and their guide curiously from behind large boulders as they pass by.
Eventually, Goldie comes to a sudden halt. Lizzie rumbles and looks back at her trainer, seeming perplexed.
After a brief pause of silence, Goldie speaks up softly. You can sense an edge of urgency in their voice. "...Sense something. Gotta keep moving."
There's a glint of concern in their Charmander's eyes, but Lizzie just gives an understanding nod and continues onward.
Everything seems alright for a moment, and you wonder what Goldie meant when they said they picked up on something nearby. But that confusion is quickly diminished when the audio picks up the sound of footsteps rushing up behind them.
Whatever they belong to jumps in and grabs Goldie in a headlock before they can have a chance to react. They let out a yelp of surprise, and as they try to pry the arms around them off you think you see a black shirt with an "R" symbol printed on its chest.
"Quit strugglin' kid, or I'll knock ya lights out!"
Goldie freezes up quickly, eyes blown wide with terror as they tremble in the attacker's arm. Then, their wristwatch begins to slip just as you hear the growl-y cry of a Pokemon, and you see a second man in a black suit with the same insignia holding Lizzie by the tail.
"This Charmander's got spunk," the Charmander's captor remarks as she thrashes and squirms about, trying to get free. "We'll bag it. Brat's got any others on them?"
"I think so," the second man replies. "Alright kid, here's how this is gonna go; I'm gonna let you go, you're gonna hand over all the Pokemon 'n cash you got on ya, and no one gets hurt. Capiche?"
Goldie quickly nods, and the thug pushes them forward. They quickly un-clip all three of the remaining Pokeballs on their belt, and release the rest of their team onto the cave floor- all besides Gilly.
The thugs eye over the Mankey and Pikachu, before the one holding Lizzie captive glares the young trainer down with scrutiny. "What's in the Lure Ball?"
"M-Magikarp," Goldie squeaks out, voice trembling.
"Seriously? Bah, you can keep that piece o' trash. We'll be takin' the other two, though, if you don't mind."
"And even if you do, nothin' you can do about it!" The lackey behind Goldie snickers, and they tense up as he shoves past them.
"Man, we shoulda just done this from the start instead o' digging around for some damn rocks like the captain told us to."
"Yeah! Honestly, the boss oughta fire him and make one o' us cap-"
"GRRRROOOOOOORRR..."
The two grunts stiffened, slowly drawing their eyes over to Goldie- or more accurately, something behind them. Goldie turns, only to become petrified themself at the sight of a massive Nidoking looming over them. That isn't all, though- you quickly notice it's accompanied by a trainer. A lean-looking young man, with medium-length violet hair and a narrow pair of eyes that match. He wears a white suit over a black turtleneck, with the same R design over his chest as the other two.
"What..." he pauses, his voice low and menacing as his gaze flicks from Goldie to the pair of attackers. "...are you two imbeciles doing?"
"I-I- we- um-" The only holding Lizzie fumbles awkwardly over his words. "H-hey, captain, we were just talkin' about you!"
"So I heard."
Both thugs shrink back, exchanging a nervous glance as the second one swallows a lump in his throat. "We- we was just uh- we were just jokin' around! Honest! N-Nobody could replace you as captain, Donte!"
"That's not what I'm concerned about," this "Donte" character answers calmly. "What I'm wondering is why you two are over here fooling around with some kid like a pair of lowly schoolyard bullies, instead of carrying out the job I assigned you to."
"U-Um- well-" The grunt nods over at the Charmander dangling from his teammate's hand. "We er, found this twerp lurkin' around, lookin' like they were gonna get up in our business here! S-So we acted accordingly, sir. A-and we thought why not nab their Pokemon while we're at it? Could be a good present for the boss!"
The purple-haired man stares them down for a long time, then sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "I explicitly told you two we've come here for fossils. Nothing else. Especially not some newbie trainer's low level, worthless Pokemon."
"W-we- we-" The grunts try to stammer out anything to say, but eventually, hang their heads in shame and defeat. "R-right. Sorry Donte."
"That's captain to you." "S-sorry, captain, sir!" The captain's eyes fix on Goldie once more, and they visibly shrink under his glare. But, they don't linger there for long, before he's back to bossing the two underlings around. "Release the Pokemon and get a move on. Don't let me catch either of you screwing around again. Next time I see you, you've both better have dug up some fossils." "Yes, sir!" The two lackeys straighten up, dropping Lizzie back onto the ground before hurrying off down the corridor and vanishing from view. Lizzie runs up to her trainer, quickly hugging onto their leg and whimpering. Goldie crouches down, giving the Charmander a soothing scratch atop her head. You hear footsteps, and they turn their head up to see the man from before standing beside them as he returns his Nidoking to its ball. He's silent for a moment, and you can tell Goldie is considering just getting back up and walking away. But, before they do, he finally speaks up. "Are you hurt?"
Goldie simply stares at him for a long while. His brow creases a bit in annoyance.
"Answer the question, kid." "N-No," Goldie squeaks out. "Hm." He hums, and looks away. You swear you see his face visibly relax. "Good." He takes a few steps forward, seeming like he's about to take his leave. "For future reference, you ought to stay out of Team Rocket's affairs. I have some... colleagues, who would have gladly endorsed the behavior my subordinates displayed just now. Probably even partake in it themselves." He looks back, and you can't help but notice his eyes seem drawn to their scarf in particular. As if he seems to recognize it. "...You're a new trainer, yes?" "...Yeah." "Hm... I'm assuming you're looking for the next gym. Take a left turn up ahead and keep going straight until you reach the cave exit. That'll get you to Cerulean City." Without another word, he walks away. All of Goldie's Pokemon rush to surround them, Cheese climbing up onto their shoulder and Peanut dangling from their arm. The video ends as they all watch the mysterious man disappear from sight.] ---

This is Shawn's team in my TWST x Pokémon crossover. Thievul is his main partner. He, like the rest of Scarabia uses Luxury Balls.
Thievul's Moves: Nasty Plot, Hone Claws, Parting Shot, Tail Slap and Play Rough. His Ability is Run Away. Shawn found Thievul as a Nickit in the school's kitchen looking for food. He evolved during a mock battle against Sabine's Purrloin.
Golem's Moves: Rock Polish, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Iron Defense and Bulldoze. His Ability is Sturdy. Shawn was given Golem as an Egg by Fumino, but hatched into a Kantoian Geodude instead of an Alolan form. He evolved during a training session and then again when he went through a Trade Machine built by Ignihyde.
Monferno's Moves: Thunder Punch, Work Up, Slack Off, Acrobatics and Flame Wheel. His Ability is Blaze. Shawn was given Monferno as an Egg by Tora. He evolved during a mock battle.
Golisopod's Moves: First Impression, Razor Shell, Swords Dance, Iron Defense and Rock Tomb. Her Ability is Emergency Exit. Shawn found her hiding in the greenhouse. He often had her ride on his shoulder so she would interact more, much to Jamil's chagrin. She evolved during Jamil's Overblot.
Emolga's Moves: Agility, Electro Ball, Charm, Energy Ball and Air Slash. Her Ability is Static. Shawn found Emolga in a tree, while he was resting. She's often seen outside her PokéBall, riding on Shawn's head.
Patrat's Moves: Work Up, Mean Look, Seed Bomb, Shock Wave, Zen Headbutt. His Ability is Keen Eye. Shawn found Patrat in the forest. Patrat often acts as a lookout for the Dorm Leaders when the first years are causing mischief.
