Friendsgiving Meal = Great Success!
Ate all the veggies first. Then protein.
Actually skipped most of the carbs. Had a few bites. It wasn't as fantastic as I thought it would be. So I didn't eat it, I tossed it.
Add to the picture 2 additional deviled eggs, 4 pickles, 4 jalapeño stuffed olives, a couple bites of the green bean casserole. I avoided the meat and cheese tray!
I drank some Cranberry mango diet mixed with a berry bubly, 2 diet cokes, and a Basil berry sparkling water.
My cranberry orange poke cake turned out to be less of a cake and more like a bar. But with 20 pieces, each piece is under 70 cals.
I will have to research what I need to add to give it more fluff. Or was it because I couldn't find the hand mixer and mixed it in the blender instead?
In the end, I was satisfied.

It actually does bother me that eating is treated like spending money - that you have an allotted allowance in the form of calories that you are supposed to budget.
"How are you spending your calories?" I'm spending them on experiences. I'm spending them on time with my community, my people, those who matter to me. I'm spending them on satiating a human need. I'm spending them on the feeling of being alive and not just living.
If there is one experience that I don't want to "pay" for, it's the basic human right of comfort, security, community, and care.
