#hand painted minis

This is my third round of painting up these suit of armour mimics, and they are always such a joy.

Unlike the previous two times with clean shiny metallics, went for something more abstract with copper oxidised armour and rusted weapons. This colour scheme makes each mini POP with colour!

These are a favourite of mine :) especially the sword mimic with the eye on its back.

IMPORTANT INFO:

These minis will be sold in sets of two - matching up with their weapon-holding counterparts.

So there are three sets in total: Hammer Halbert Sword

I've been making cave terrain with my new best friend Fiber Paste

I can't believe these are finally done! Took forever lmaoo

Some of the stalagmites are just scrap polymer clay I mushed up and painted and they match fine enough I think. I used various foams for the rest- the flat ones are cheapo craft foam i glued together in layers and the chunky ones are packing foam I chopped up and stabbed skewers into.

I coated everything in (white) gessopodge then added the fiber paste- gives them a stone texture and fills in all the holes, and I could also make little peaks in it for some extra stalagmites.

After it dried I primed them in black and did the basic dry brushing.

The hardest thing was definitely the cave pools cus I kept trying other mediums and fucking it up, but in the end I bit the bullet and bought some casting resin. (Used that on my swamp too)

Will probly make some scans of the DM screen I'm working on (painting in the background) as soon as I get some hinges for it

My Horus Heresy Blackshields army (Fangs of the Emperor) is complete! 1250pts ready to go for a local event happening tomorrow. For once I wasn't awake till 3am the night before the event painting a tank. It's clearly cause I dissented and became a Loyalist. For the Emperor, lol. It's a doubles event so my army is very skewed but it compliments my partner's well.

Everything's WYSIWYG, but the short and simple of my list:

Master of Signals with a heavy support squad (lascannons)

Dread with melta and graviton in the fist

Seekers, magna combi (melta), with augury scanner and infravisor

Veterans with nemesis bolters, augury scanner and infravisor

Destroyer Assault, thunder hammer for bonking and 2 toxiferran flamers

Squint's bringing Sisters of Silence and together we are "Oops!! All pinning!" so wish us luck. Do NOT wish the Emperor to protect us, we don't worship him as a god in HH because there are no gods only man.

I was scavenging through my minis to choose one to paint... and lo and behold, I found Minsc and Boo! Did not even know I had these guys, and yet, here they are!! By the looks of it, they were free with some paints I bought back in 2020. I stored them away and forgot about them until recently, so now that I found them, I decided to slap some paint on them, and here's the finished product! He's about as big as a 2p coin.
