I've been making cave terrain with my new best friend Fiber Paste
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't believe these are finally done! Took forever lmaoo
Some of the stalagmites are just scrap polymer clay I mushed up and painted and they match fine enough I think. I used various foams for the rest- the flat ones are cheapo craft foam i glued together in layers and the chunky ones are packing foam I chopped up and stabbed skewers into.
I coated everything in (white) gessopodge then added the fiber paste- gives them a stone texture and fills in all the holes, and I could also make little peaks in it for some extra stalagmites.

After it dried I primed them in black and did the basic dry brushing.
The hardest thing was definitely the cave pools cus I kept trying other mediums and fucking it up, but in the end I bit the bullet and bought some casting resin. (Used that on my swamp too)
Will probly make some scans of the DM screen I'm working on (painting in the background) as soon as I get some hinges for it

Denizen Miniatures created several ranges of true 25mm fantasy figures in the 1980s, including adventurers, dwarves, and the Legion of the Damned -- the latter seemed to have normal human bodies but skull faces a la Skeletor. Most were compatible in size to their Ral Partha counterparts. There also was a nice line of 25mm sci-fi figures, comparable to other small 25s like GZG's Stargrunt or Grenadier/WEG's Star Wars miniatures.
I used one of their dwarves as my PC miniature during a long AD&D campaign in the late 80s. Some of their sculpts looked better than others in the raw metal, but most were well detailed and came alive when painted. The examples here from their website show the relatively muted natural hues typical of many manufacturers' catalog painters in the 70s and early 80s.
Their old site is still up at http://denizenminiatures.co.uk though the fantasy range is not currently available. The sci-fi range apparently is being put back in production in original true 25mm and upscaled 28mm versions.

Another set that was finished and uploaded a little while ago, these are the Ocular Swarms! This mini was made to serve as an accompaniment to the larger Ocular Anomaly shown previously, and to function as some smaller swarm mobs to pad out the encounters a bit more. Therefor these match well with their larger counterparts both in color and design. A closer look at the colors is coming next in a separate post!
If you like what you see and want to support me and get a whole bunch more printable minis like these, check out my Patreon page! All of them come in, pre-scaled easy to print PDFs / PNG files and work great with a myriad of ttrpg games, including DnD, Pathfinder, Daggerheart, Blades in the Dark, Call of Cthulhu and more. The front view for most minis is FREE and supporters get access to a whole lot more including unique back views, color options, alternative poses & variant designs, VTT tokens and so much more. With dozens of minis to choose from, and more uploading every month, you will always have a new option for your table. ❤

Photoset of my modular dungeons and dragons tile set that I made. 40pcs in all, it's got dragon claw marks and acid damage as the dragon fight I built it for was an acid breathing dragon so I eroded the pillars to create acid damage. The full tile pieces have moss added to them also.
I'm selling this set as I haven't used it in some time. DM me for details 👍

Model of a crashed spelljammer I dropped on my party while they were minding their own business
The ship is a dice tower that can be removed so my parter can still use it- thinking about pasting a ufo or something in the empty spot eventually
I made the fields out of cardboard peices I ripped the top layer off of, then glued them to a board. I built the rest up with various acrylic mediums (pumice gel my beloved)

After it dried I gave it a layer of black gessopodge (gesso I mixed with modpodge, smells very.. interesting) and a layer of base paint/dry brushing. Then I just glued on some grass and voila!

Base making halted last night due to remembering at the last minute that I had to make banana bread for Sunday D&D. The Proprietary Blend will probably go on sometime this evening and then magnets will be fitted to the base and tent frame. Progress has still been made.
Some of the... Uh... Objects around Gale's tent are just.... Going to NEED to be modeled in blender. I'm not hand sculpting that thingy behind Tara's pillow at that scale, nor am I sculpting a small telescope. So... That is kinda motivation to get back into that. I'll offer those STL files for free on Drive or Mega for anyone who wants to fall victim to the same sort of madness with me.
I've also ordered a miniature of.... Ashton: The Aristocratic Vampire. A very convincing Astarion impersonator, I think. Like an Elvis impersonator but for legal H@sbr* Will Send The Pinkertons reasons. I suspect I'll eventually be ordering a Hale: The Dark Wizard or whatever next. Because I hate modeling people and their awful complicated foldy clothing.

Finished this guy back in May, but was waiting for him to appear at our table in game before posting: Red Slaad!
Fun fact- this mini was missing a small section, so I sculpted what was missing with green stuff! Can you tell where? :)

For something a little different, some miniatures I painted for one of my games I'm a player in. We found a full collection of elemental gems, so as a surprise I painted up some of the Loot Studios sculpts for the event we ever pop one of these bad boys.
