These are my most played with monsters for RPGs, but never got painted. They're Reaper Bones, the white material, and cleaning them up sucked! I ended up slicing as much of the mold lines as I could, then I covered the rest with some thick layers of primer. I took this opportunity to try some speed painting techniques. I used contrast paints (xpress) and oils, but also traditional acrilycs as a final step. Despite my frustrations with the material, I'm very happy with the result (for the time it took) so I think I might try to replicate this process on some other appropriate models (plague bearers??)

Speed Painting: Reaper Miniatures

While I was at Gencon I entered a bunch of Speed Painting events, here were the two miniatures I painted from Reaper Miniatures. A Dwarf Baker and an Elf Archer. The archer was my first model I painted over the convention and I bit off more than I could chew with the highlighting on the cape and everything else I wanted to do.

The Dwarf baker I'm much more happy with, it was a blast to paint and I plan to go back and touch up on the details and add more blood CHERRY!

...it's definitely a cherry pie he's made. I actually have a bunch of fantasy chefs, I'll probably paint them all while I'm at it.

If you've been watching me on tiktok, you've probably seen me working on this Shub-Niggurath mini for my husband. Well I just added the pupils to the eyes and I gotta say this thing is starting to freak me out!
