My Horus Heresy Blackshields army (Fangs of the Emperor) is complete! 1250pts ready to go for a local event happening tomorrow. For once I wasn't awake till 3am the night before the event painting a tank. It's clearly cause I dissented and became a Loyalist. For the Emperor, lol. It's a doubles event so my army is very skewed but it compliments my partner's well.

Everything's WYSIWYG, but the short and simple of my list:

Master of Signals with a heavy support squad (lascannons)

Dread with melta and graviton in the fist

Seekers, magna combi (melta), with augury scanner and infravisor

Veterans with nemesis bolters, augury scanner and infravisor

Destroyer Assault, thunder hammer for bonking and 2 toxiferran flamers

Squint's bringing Sisters of Silence and together we are "Oops!! All pinning!" so wish us luck. Do NOT wish the Emperor to protect us, we don't worship him as a god in HH because there are no gods only man.

It's interesting that this is the unmistakable silhouette of a Thanatar Calix, but Horus Heresy isn't mentioned as one of the ranges getting previewed at LVO. 40k AdMech finally getting some of that 30k Mechanicum action?

And, to absolutely no one's surprise, new plastic Lucius.

the Skaventide/Vermindoom is basically the Great Crusade.

Dropping polluting cities upon lands that are unwilling/unable to accommodate them, teaming billions of slaves and soldiers fuelling expanding wars that desecrate the land, all to feed itself more.

Backstabbing/corrupt leadership, slaughtering and enslaving those who can't stop them.

Serving an uncaring/wicked god.

Truly, The Great Horned Rat and The Emperor are both The Dark King.

After reading through the generic rites of war and the Legion rites of war trying to decide on a rite to build towards is crazy. I mean the easiest is Pride of the Legion and Guard of the Crimson king.... But what would be the craziest rites/builds for them that people wouldn't see coming and be like "wait.. he did what with heresy 1ksons?"

It took me around 20-25 hours, which isn't anything crazy for such a large model. I took pictures with my phone so the quality isn't the best... but I've moved and my photo setup is yet to be set up.

Liber Xenos: Orks - July 2024 Update

Thanks to all the feedback for Liber Xenos: Orks! I'm happy people are enjoying it. This latest update adds a lot of tweaks due to further play testing from across the community.

Last of the mechanicum box set models: this tank looks dumb but suits the cogheads well.

I added martian dirt and dust as it Looked way too clean for My Liking.

Im looking at the Horus Heresy range currently, to expand the collection - there isnt much (in plastic form). Im eyeballing another box set as its the cheapest way to get more thalls, thalax, and castalax (the tank is just a bonus!).

I’d like to know what the FW team were thinking when they wrote an entire Black Book where Port Maw is both at the very frontier of the Imperium, AND on the border between Segmentae Obscurus and Ultima. Like come on, it’s nowhere close to either unless you count “frontier” to be at the top or bottom of the galactic plane - and even then it isn’t near Ultima Segmentum.
