I don’t know why but something that keeps bugging me about the Iceman sexuality reveal is the fact that, what, two-three years ago Marvel got so much press for Northstar’s gay wedding….and I can’t remember the last time I saw Northstar in an X-man comic
And then they got all that press when they revealed the new Morph - who Bendis created - was gay in 2k13 and…..I can’t remember the last time he actually had a line of dialog in Uncanny X-men. He just stands around in the background. They revealed he was gay in his debut and then….he’s just been decoration.
And this is to say nothing of say, Anole or Bling either
It seems like Marvel is just looking for press with a character they can go “hey, he’s been in the movies! he’s in comics that get published every month and he has dialog! he’s existed since the beginning of the x-men!”

I wonder if these media outlets would still report on Marvel debuting gay characters and having gay weddings if they could also add to their articles “this character won’t appear in a comic for the next two years or have any dialog or contribute to storylines”
cause that’s what has been happening

Even if this is real . . . what’s the point? So he sold drugs and committed burglary a few times. This warrants his death? He wasn’t charged with a single violent crime according to this.
People seem to have awfully low standards for how the justice system is supposed to work when it’s a black guy on the receiving end of it.
Pittsburgh DJ Mike Jax posted this on his FB page. He works at WAMO. Pittsburgh’s only station for Hip hop and R&B. The criminal record is a fake. They love black culture but hate black people

Quote
I’m absolutely convinced that a riot merely intensifies the fears of the white community while relieving the guilt. And I feel that we must always work with an effective, powerful weapon and method that brings about tangible results. But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the negro poor has worsened over the last twelve or fifteen years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity.

I agree with the latter part of this post, but that’s literally not what that video shows. They’re being thrown both ways from the beginning.

Burundi: Crackdown on Protesters
The Burundian government is cracking down on activists, journalists, and demonstrators following protests over President Pierre Nkurunziza’s decision to run for a third term. A heavy police presence prevented many demonstrators from reaching the city center, but there were numerous clashes between police and demonstrators in the suburbs, with police using teargas, water cannons, and live ammunition

cool fact for people who have a problem with looting:
cops in america are legally allowed to take people’s property (including large sums of money) purely because they feel like it. it’s called civil forfeiture and there are literally thousands of cases of pigs taking people’s property. that is looting.

1) If you think that’s the only thing this riot is about, you’re an idiot.
2) Three fractured vertebrae resulting in death apparently equates to being “roughed up.” Ooookay.
Of course, you don’t bother to mention that Gray also didn’t commit any crime (same as all those innocent civs and business owners) and, by the admission of police, didn’t resist arrest.
Unfollow anyone who says Baltimore is overreacting.
A man’s spine was severed WITHOUT the use of a gun. Do you know what kind of force that is? Please tell me what the police did was justified, so I can know exactly who to block.
