tell me some apps that help u with organization and some other things (if u use ofc) i always search but i never find something that i can use well yk
So, come apps which I have used and liked for organization are:-
Notion :- This app is an all in one app. You can just use notion to track anything in your life be it academic related, life related or keeping tracks of movies or books you have consumed. You can download a nice template online to make your work more fluid and easy
Acloset :-This app is life changing if you get overwhelmed when you have to decide what to wear. It helps you organize your closet. It's also free and the background removing function is great.
Habitica- This app is great if you have to track your habits and build habits or todos. Its super fun and it gamifies task so you get a lil dopamine rush.
Google calendar:- I use it to schedule my classes and to remind me of party, events or any social gathering I have to attend
Pinterest:- This is non-traditional tracking app but its super fun to track what you "want" to do in life. Like what type of clothes u wanna wear, movies you wanna watch, the way you wanna look, the way you wanna your home to look. Its fun.
NOTE- While keeping track of things you do is super important but a lots of time "organizing" gives a false sense of productiveness, I dont mean its not productive but it can come as coping instead of doing the task. So, just dont just get consumed in it waste 3-4 hours doing it. Also, a lots of people work well in more structured and rigid way and a lots of people work best in flowy way so think about yourself that what you work best in or maybe try to find a midway.
Hope this helps. :)

A way I found to help my mental health some, that may work on others (?)
Redecorate on a semi-regular basis, both in your personal space and offline.
Just to give an example of stuff I do, every week:
-I swap around the pillow and blanket set up in front of my PC
-I rearrange stuff on my desk slightly
-I change my phone wallapper and ringtone
-I set a new desktop background
-I change my Firefox theme
-I even have a plugin that lets me sort through different Youtube layouts and I play with that
-I give myself slightly different Habitica tasks to keep things interesting
Even just those small bits of variety help my brain. It makes me feel like I've "leveled up" into a new week if that makes any sense
Sometimes I even like to give it little themes. One week, I gave everything a little nautical aesthetic.
As long as it makes my brain happy.
To any experts who might find this, is there an actual reason why this works or am I just weird?

Tusk, Finch and Forest are some android apps that have helped me a bit
Or if u like the rpg aesthetic Do it Now and Habitica (a bit confusing for me but if u like them they must be amazing ngl)
Habitica I tried I like the idea but I always just forget about it idk. It blends in with all my other purple apps stupid as that sounds and Idk the execution of the RPG mechanics as Incentive kind of is lacking to me
Finch I was using for a bit same thing it starts to blend into the background as just another annoying notification to ignore
Tusk and do it now I haven't heard of or don't remember, will check them out

FYI, if it also helps, there's an app that kinda does this. It's called Habitica. I used it for a few years. It's free. Actually has a website to play online if you prefer, but is also an app. You can pay a subscription to get bonuses, but nothing is really locked away in the free version.
You can get outfits and pets and backgrounds to customize your pixilated little avatar. You then start up quests to conquer various chores like dishes or laundry or dusting. You don't necessarily have to do that chore, though. Instead, you create your To Do list that you then check off. Each item you complete adds attack damage against the quest monster. Each day you don't complete your list, however, the quest monster attacks you for each remaining item. So, that is the main caveat. I know that, while being "punished" for incomplete tasks might be incentive for some, it can also cause unnecessary stress for others.
Also, feel free to put ANYTHING on your To Do list. My husband had "didn't have negative thoughts about myself" on his list 12x and he'd try to cross one off each hour.
Anyway, I enjoyed Habitica for about 5 yrs or so. However, once my friends and husband slowly stopped using the app, and each quest then took WEEKS to complete solo, I eventually dropped it too.
The app clearly isn't for everyone, but if you need that "gamify" push and you don't have the same support as OP, maybe this could work for you?
you know that post that's like "if thinking naruto would be proud of you for brushing your teeth gets you to brush your teeth go for it" well today i texted my friends and asked them to pretend to be wizards sending me on a grand quest to eat lunch and buy hand soap and it worked so well i put a load of laundry in and did the dishes too so. i don't know what the lesson is here but maybe give that a try

User Research
Habitica Additions
Version 9.6.2 (3/19/2023)
1. Background
· It was noticed that several Habitica users expected a calendar feature and a habit statistic page, but they lacked the features. These are standard In competitor apps and this could make them preferred over Habitica.
· Personal exploration of the app and some competitors and an overview of customer reviews and ratings.
· The goal is finding out whether there is demand for this feature. And if so, how can we implement these features in a user friendly, efficient way, matching Habiticas design system. Alongside this we want to refine any other issues users face with Habitica
2. Objectives
Business Objective & KPIs
Objectives
KPIs
Find out and change what users find frustrating in the app, thereby attracting and retaining more users.
NPS Surveys Concept Test Interviews
Research Success Criteria
· What qualitative and quantitative information about users will be collected?
o Qualitative. Concept test ranking &discussions. Interview results before and after using the updated Habitica
o Quantitative. Survey results and NPS
· What documents or artifacts need to be created?
o Journey mapping
o User personas
o Compilation of external research
o Records of user research
o Mind maps
o Sketches
o Low fidelity prototypes
o High fidelity prototypes
· What decisions need to be made with research insights?
o What features are missing? Will it be the calendar and stats page as hypothesized?
o If Habitica is frictionless to understand for new users and if it helps them track their goals
o Are unforeseen frustrations with general goal tracking that Habitica could solve
3. Research Methods
Note: Include one to two sentences explain what the method is and its purpose if your stakeholders aren’t familiar with user research.
Secondary research
· Document review
· Heuristic evaluation
· Analytics review. Review Habiticas stats
· Competitive analysis. Compare Habitica to it’s competitors to see what it does better and worse.
· Precursor research. Relevant pre-existing studies
Primary research
· User interviews – discover what people want for in tracking tools
· Contextual inquiry/Usability test – Observing users actually using habitica in natural context and asking questions
· Post-session survey – interview a
· Concept comparison – let user rate potential features
4. Research Scope & Focus Areas
Question themes
· 3-6 high-level topics of questions.
· User goal tracking. How they set goals, take notes for themselves. What issues they have with their processes.
o What’s your experience with habit tracking apps?
o What features would you expect in an app like this?
o Have you experienced obstacles tracking habits or goals. Via app or analogue.
o What competitors would you consider over us and why?
· E.g. Employee time management (how they manage their daily tasks, what they spend most time on, what activities are perceived as unnecessary…)
Design focus components
Choose main focus areas and delete the rest.
· Utility: Is the content or functionality useful to intended users?
· Learnability: How easy is it for users to accomplish basic tasks the first time they encounter the design?
· Efficiency: Once users have learned the design, how quickly can they perform tasks?
· Memorability: When users return to the design after a period of not using it, how easily can they reestablish proficiency?
· Errors: How many errors do users make, how severe are these errors, and how easily can they recover from the errors?
· Satisfaction: How pleasant is it to use the design?
· Persuasiveness: Are desired actions supported and motivated?
Primary user scenarios
· In what scenarios do the problem become most painful? What are the most common user scenarios? What are the edge cases you want to learn more about?
· E.g. Employee return to work after a three-week vacation
5. Research Participant Profiles
Note: If it isn’t obvious why you choose these users, provide a brief explanation of what differences you expect to learn from these segments.
· User segment A (x5)
o Classmates. They’ll be average in habit tracker app usage (ideal) and be more equipped to offer design insights. But their expertise may blind them to flaws. They’re mostly 18-25 years old, within Habitaca most common user base.
· User segment B (x5)
o Friends and family. They aren’t experienced in interaction design and therefor the idea laymen.
· Where/How to recruit:
o We are only allowed access to classmates, friend and family. I’ll swap places being researcher and user with classmates and ask friends and family goodwill.
· Include screener: Yes / No (Link to Screener)
Appendix
Include information that have been discussed prior to creating the research plan, such as:
· A list of initial hypotheses uncovered through assumption mapping workshop with stakeholders
· User ecosystem map of who else interact with and influence users)
· Highlights of meeting notes (any noteworthy discussion, consideration etc.)
***
Hope this template is useful to you! If you need more details on how to use this template, please view the full article where this template comes from: User research plan template.

It was a cool September night, my first year - my first month at college. My first weekend home. I returned to town late Sunday night... around 10:30, long after everything had closed, including the one taxi service in the small college town. It was dark and the fog was intense; there was very poor visibility and no one else around. No cars drove by, though I was by the main road. It was eerily silent, to my big city ears. And I had no idea how to get back to campus. Even if I thought I could manage my luggage and the walk alone, I was lost.
And this was before cellphones were really a thing. Smartphones weren't even available yet. No Google Maps at my fingertips to guide my weary steps...
I had a few friends on campus and a few quarters, so I crossed the street to the lone payphone in an empty but well-lit shopping plaza and started trying to call them, one after another.
First i called my roommates. No answer. Then I left messages for friend after friend... no answer at all. The hour grew later and the fog thicker...
Then suddenly I heard footsteps. I couldn't see where they came from but they sounded like they were getting closer. I looked around, afraid to call out, afraid to say silent... and the footsteps grew closer.
The fog swirled around a dark trenchcoated figure. A tall, slim man, I thought by the silhouette, making his way toward me. I was terrified. I couldn't see his feet though I heard his steps as the fog roiled around the sinister being emerging from the mist.
"Hi QuartzFox," piped up a very cheerful, very familiar voice. I half screamed, half cried his name; my friend had found me and come to rescue me! I had to yell at him for scaring me, of course, but he picked up my bag and carried it all the way to campus for me, seeing me back to my room and the safety of my own blankets.
It was quite some time before I fully saw the humor in the situation, but given that I have survived to tell it, it makes for a rich tale indeed...

Hi, ate! I'm an incoming college student. Any tips abt productivity. 🪴
I think it’s important that you know your learning style - whether you’re an auditory learner, visual learner, kinaesthetic or “read/write” learner. If you don’t know yet, there are a lot of tests online that you could take. Knowing this - you could build your study habits and routines around what learning approach works best for you. Alam mo kung mas effective ba sayo note-taking, pag color code ng highlighters, pag gamit ng flashcards, pakikinig ng lectures, etc. Result: hindi sayang oras mo because you know HOW you learn best.
Take me for example: I am a visual learner - I make flashcards whenever I can, I learn better with graphs or any visual stimulation, I make concept maps, and I color code my notes. I play brown noise to cancel out any other noise as I am easily distracted by sounds. I make to-do lists because it helps me visualize my progress.
I’d also like to share this, I got this from my friend: “Patulan mo na” — this has been my mantra for a while now. We always encounter this when we talk of dating, “ay sige patulan ko na” , “patulan mo na yan”. WE NEED THAT MINDSET. Except not on guys, but on readings. When you’re 50-50 about studying - patulan mo na. When you can’t seem to start - game na patulan mo na. Andyan na yan patulan mo na haha. Because you’re not going to feel motivated all the time.
And then the usuals…
Use pomodoro, and if you have time - animedoro hahaha. Right now I use lifeat.io — it has pomodoro timer, different calming backgrounds, to-do list, different sounds, you can play yt videos/spotify playlists, and I use it to study with my friends kase may vc. 10/10 recommend it.
Try not to use your phone that much when you’re studying. I have this app: focus quest. It’s pomodoro din but also you can’t use your phone during focus time. Plus it’s a game type of timer/focus app - very entertaining kase in order to like level up kelangan mo mag focus. It’s cute.
Another app I use is Habitica - to help me build good habits. Also for my to-do lists. Because the only way all this would be normal for you is if you do it regularly - make it a habit.
Also have scheduled breaks. “Scheduled” being the operative word. If you don’t make time for breaks, trust me, your body WILL MAKE TIME for breaks. Mabuburnout ka, magbbreakdown, magkakasakit or magrerevenge bedtime procrastination. At hindi mo alam kelan ka magiging okay to study ulet.
Pero all this is for when I REALLYYYY need to study - enjoy-in mo college life mo. Mag inom ka ng malala haha

Hey amazing followers - sorry for not writing a lot recently...with summer and work and more recently covid it has been a lot on the homefront.
Anyhoo - I just wanted to let you know about a wellness app I tried 53 days ago and love.
I was using habitica (which was truly awesome a gamified Todo list app) and Forest (a gamified timer app which is pretty awesome), a seperate journaling/gratitude app, my Fitbit tracker, and various others over the years. All of which have helped and I am so thankful for BUT in the way of things that work with ADHD - had all stopped grabbing my interest sufficiently to really help me keep up with all the random everyday tasks I struggle to stay on top of. (I still use my Fitbit but mainly passively and I have never gotten into the fancy parts of the app).
Sooo anyways - after decades of trying to force myself to re-engage with things that **should** work because they did **before** - I have resolved to just accept that most tools for me will have a season and that I will eventually need to, as Marie Kondo would say, "Thank it for the role it was destined to play and then discard it and move on".
So...all that said... My current tool is called Finch and I am loving it.
The premise is that you are the care taker of a little bird (or as Finch calls them: a BIRB) and whenever you engage with the app (set a goal, achieve a goal, journal, use a timer, do an exercise etc) it nourishes your birb or gives you rainbow stones so you can buy outfits or house decoration or (and I am not there yet) travel.
I used the free version until today (which has great functionality - and it also helped that a lot of the customization options were locked off while I was getting used to the ins and outs of the app) and just decided to upgrade to the annual subscription (because I can and want to support the creators and also I wanted to open the "filter by journey" option).
What I think I like best is that the gamification is enough to increase my engagement and ensure I check in - but not so engaging that I get lost in app instead of doing my actual to dos. And it does all the things I was previously using multiple apps and has some great weekly reporting features. (I just have to remember to turn my screen off when I am using the timer or my phone gets hot).
Anyhoo - if it sounds like it might be something handy for you - here's the link:
https://finchcare.com/ (I know it is available in the play store...I don't know about other platforms 😳)
And here's a screenshot to get an idea of the adorableness...my birb is Marbles (he/him) and he is feeling loved (his mood / background changes a couple times through the day):

Goodmorning!! haha
The comic sounds like a super fun idea!! Glad you enjoyed the process and the outcome ^^
I've got the same problem with my screen time and procrastination. Especially the more often I do it. I go on the likes of instagram to get a dopamine boost and feel better but end up feeling so much worse afterwards. (Don't mind watching yt tho, such an unfortunate way for Mumbo to go, like..... srsly?)
But here are some tips:
Have a longer term To Do list that's primarily the important things you have to get done and do not throw it out or abandon it. That's what I normally tend to do, but being able to (eventually and slowly) cross off the tasks (after the list grew a few times) feels so rewarding and relieving
Trying physical &/ digital To Do's and trackers in different forms might be good. Of course not always the best thing to get started on with exams coming up but it can be beneficial if it works. Some good ones I know of: (that are all free)
Flocus is a (pomodoro) timer website, it's very aesthetic and simple to use, has lots features and a few different time tracking modes
Study Bunny is an app that let's you have a To Do list and flashcards, it rewards your study time (& tracks it, again with a few different modes) with coins which you can use to decorate your bunny and room. It's super adorable and I absolutely loved using it (Habit Rabbit is a similar concept but for habits and routines)
Habitica is a gamified app and website that let's you have habits and To Do tasks (of different difficulities) and assigned rewards which can either level up your character or harm them depending on if you completed the necessary tasks. It's easy to use, it has a big community over on discord and within the app through challenges (a set of habits &/ tasks) you can join
Yeolpumta and Toggl Track are time tracking apps, both are fairly easy to use. Yeolpumta has a community feature where you can study in 'rooms' with multiple people and see their current times. Toggl Track is more for businesses but it's really simple and works really well for me right now
Actual accountability buddies are also great. Within Habitica discord groups I know that there is an accountability channel where you can pop into a voice chat and have it silenced but have other ppl in the call with you while youse all do stuff in the background. The people in the group also run accountability checks where they can remind you/check in with you in whatever amount of time you ask to see how you've been doing with your task/if you've finished it (or you can message me and we can work smt out for accountability. I've got mock exams coming up, I'm trying to rebuild my habits and keep procrastination/screen time low)
Placing sticky notes or moving things to be directly in your way so you remember and do them is also really helpful
Not sitting down. I struggle remembering to do this too but once you're moving it's so much easier to keep moving and doing things than trying to do them after sitting down and getting comfy. Like I'm not exactly saying that you should do your homework standing up, but if you feel like you're gonna reach for your phone as soon as you sit down, just do a lap of your room or go downstairs to get some water or just do a spin and get into work immediately as you sit back down. This may also be a good way of getting back into work after procrastinating
I would aa more but since writing this I'm starting to forget about what you wrote and am starting to get worried I went off at a wrong tangent haha
But I hope smt works well for you and if you want more tips/abt something more specific (or abt accountability) feel free to send a message/ask 😊
✦ 17. 11. 24 ✦ 📓 ✦ Sunday ✦
Yesterday I legit sat the whole day and worked on my art assignment. And I loved it. I had to finish it this morning but I am so proud of it!! It´s a comic about me on our art class Venice trip (that was kinda the task).
But today... I have to say, my blog name is not made up and actually spot on. Because HOW did I manage to start and finish my philosophy homework the last minutes I planned for studying today??? I do is subconciously, it´s crazy! It makes me not want to try and change, because why fix something that works?? But I really should...
Oh, and reminder to everyone who needs it (after me): Wash your hair. The world will not feel like it´s falling apart after you have clean hair. trust.
Okay so now a longer update about school in general (Studying, exams, routine, etc.):
I love studying so much. I actually love to learn new shit and RIGHT NOW I am even excited about exam prep. I am aware, that it´s because I haven´t yet started, but I will from tomorrow on. Now I don´t have any test coming up soon, so I don´t have excuses anymore. I somewhat got a plan of what I need to do and decided that I will change my method slightly. But more about that later.
Now, for that to work I have a few challenges I need to overcome. I even had some today that I indetified:
-> mindless screen time: Even right now! Even right now I am twitching for my phone. Why? Simple - to procrastinate. Because I don´t have a problem with watching content I actually want to watch (Rip Mumbo in wild life yesterday). I more so feel like it has become a habit to scroll just to pass the time. Which is not optimal. I lose time, but I also just feel like shit afterwards. Lose lose situation. Ugh. How do I not do that?
have all kinds of tasks to do: big middle and small to choose instead of being overwhelmed with the big ones and scrolling instead.
just lay on the ground. Just lie down and after a moment you will be ready again, intead of entering the famous hole of the rabbit (that was supposed to be funny, it wasn´t)
Just plan more and make yourself deadlines.
Have a reminder that says all of this.
If anyone has read this far which i doubt, and has useful tips, pls tell me! Asks are always open <3
-> tiredness: planning will help with that so that my tasks will be sorted accordingly (I do sleep enough).
-> routine: I tried so may times already, but it will not stop me from trying again. I will do it :) (well..)
I probably have more to say but I need to go to sleep now. Goodnight!!
#I've gotta remember to just lie down on the floor more#I keep forgetting until I have to mark it as not done '☑️' on my updates#and its too late at that point#sorry this is so long btw 😅#study tips#habits#student#studyblr#chaotic academia#study motivation#productivity#study inspiration#motivation#to do list#pomodoro#study tracker#time tracking#habitica#study bunny#yeolpumta#toggl track#flocus#accountability#time management#procrastination#screen time#art#wild life

Small review of Habitica :
I suffer from attention deficit, and a post it will blend into my background in less than a day; so finding an app that will help me with my bullet list, and my habits was a challenge.
But I finally found it :D It's Habitica and I love it already! This gentle app reminds me of important stuff, allow me to build ever growing to-do lists, and to keep track of what to do every day. As a bonus I get to be a rpg character but I don't use as much this part of the app.
It's free, I think you should give it a try if, like me, Google keep isn't enough.
