lgcmiso:
as far as chanel could remember, her mother had always been strict about managing herself. it turned out easier to do when she eas younger. she still has a fairly quick metabolism, but she does find herself having to cut off on her sugar rages. and managing isn’t just about what’s on the scale; it’s how she looks too. a body with some curves seems to have worked wonders for seniors before her; seolhyun, yura and yuri to name a few. this is how miso came to pick up pilates. while she truly enjoys the activity, she noticed that her body had become accustomed to the movements. actions had to be taken and this is how she came to tag along with alice on certain evenings, like this time one.
she’s just finishing pulling her hair in a bun when alice calls out for her. “yep!” she answers energetically. she’s not as comfortable as alice inside the water just yet, but seeing the other go motives miso. it’s her turn to pull her bag onto her back and join the other. “you didn’t get to go lately?” she knows that alice sometimes takes trip there without her, so it wouldn’t have been a surprised if had gone, unlike her. “the concert is taking over all our lives, right?” she says in a slightly whiny voice. “oh! right, alice! let’s try a race, i think i could beat you now!” and not fail miserably like on her first day.
alice sometimes jokes that she was born from an oyster, like a pearl, and that’s why she likes the water so much. it relaxes her. its as if when she’s in the water she doesn’t have to worry about anything more than keeping herself afloat - not that that takes much effort. it’s a lot more relaxing than boxing, so she tries to swap between the two throughout the week.
“just not in the last few days, and even when i did go last i couldn’t go for long, so i’m really eager to get back in there.” miso’s comment about the concert makes alice hum. “yeah, it’s difficult juggling it all, but hey, it comes with the territory i guess.” tugging the door open to start on their way out of the building alice looks back to keep talking to miso until they’re in the corridor.
“beat me?!” alice scoffs, laughing and shaking her head. “i’d like to see you try!” of course, she’d be pretty proud if miso was able to beat her, but she’d need to see it to believe it. alice has always been a fast swimmer, though she’s a good sport and doesn’t take losing too badly. “loser buys the winner a drink afterwards?”
water babies.

lgcezra:
“didn’t peg you for the flowery ty—”
a single harsh jab to the side leaves him choked for air for the briefest moment. and when his head clears not even a second later, he feels gravity pulling his weight. his reaction is instinctive: he reaches up, reaches over, and yanks her down with him. they fall for what seems like the hundredth time this evening – but this time around, he flings her off upon impact and lunges to push her back against the wooden floor.
now with both hands clasped around her small wrists, pinning them on either side of her head, he feels smug. she’s feisty, a good fighter. never disappoints. she has the upper hand in speed and flexibility, but when it comes to brute strength, there’s really no competition. his grip tightens. “give up.”
the satisfaction at the way his sentence gets cut off by her hit to his ribs courses through her and leaves her beaming. it isn’t that she likes to see him in, the contrary, really. but they both know each others limits with these fights, and she knows a simple jab to his ribs won’t put him out of action for more than a couple seconds.
she’s about to move out of his reach as she knocks him over, when she feels his hands pulling her down with him. bracing herself she huffs as they land, and she finds herself looking up at ezra with her wrists pinned down. she takes . second to push against his hold, trying to knock him off, but after a few seconds she realises he’s as solid as a slab of rock above him, and she glares up at him.
“this isn’t fair. you’re just a heavy fatass.” she grumbles, giving one last half-hearted push.
surrender, punk.

LEGACY PROJECT : FUTURE DREAMS
SOLO PERFORMANCE : THE SHADOW by BOA
there are some places in life where you can only go alone.
embrace the beauty of your solo journey.
PRIOR TO NOVEMBER 10TH
it’s been a challenging month. the company dinner, and the punishment that followed it were still fresh in her mind, plaguing her through the weeks, alongside her low ranking. nothing much seemed to be going well for alice right now, and she sort of just wanted things to go back to how they used to be, before she was getting in trouble and being ranked so low, despite having been in the company so long.
it makes her wonder, through the month, whether she’d done so much damage to how the company saw her at the dinner that she’d completely ruined her chances to do well in the company. she just wanted to dance, to be valued for her skills that she’d worked years on honing - but here she was, ranking so low even with years of training under her belt.
it stung.
but, she has to keep moving, she reminds herself.
the group performances aren’t hard to master - they have fun choreography that alice doesn’t find tedious to stay behind and practise. the low ranking pushes her to stay after everyone’s left, to push harder, to nit-pick at every little thing, every angle of a wrist out of place here, or every expression slightly off there. it’s almost an obsession, and addiction - she needs to perfect everything, so that she’s never ranked so low again.
if it doesn’t pay off though, is there any reason for her to remain a trainee? if her hard work amounts to nothing, isn’t that proof that she isn’t cut out for this anymore?
she just hopes it doesn’t come to that. she loves dancing she loves performing too much to quit now.
so, once the day comes to record her performances the nerves begin to eat away at her from the moment she wakes up. she just wants to do well, to try and redeem herself, but if not she just wants it to be over so she can stop trying for a while. stop hoping for something she’ll never get.
performing the group songs is a lot easier, alice finds. something about having worked on it in a group, and having the songs picked for her makes it easier to relax and focus on simply performing it well, whereas with her solo performance, there’s so much riding on her choice of song, and how well she performs it alone.
if she can’t perform well alone there’s no way she’s getting a solo song.
inevitably, though, the time comes for her to record her solo performance. the song she picked is somewhat old, but feels like a bit of a classic. it’s very much the type of song she likes, with the strong choreography alongside powerful vocals. she’d chosen boa’s the shadow within a day or two of pondering on her decision.
standing in front of the camera she tries to calm her rapidly thumping heart. the music starts, and it’s as if her body is taken out of her control. her muscle memory takes over and she executes each sharp, and smooth movement with precision and energy she didn’t even know she had to offer in that moment.
the singing as well is almost effortless with how much she’s been practising. every evening she sat late in one of the small, single person practise rooms with the pianos just working through every single line of the song, making sure she hit every note perfectly. then, she made sure she could hit those same notes while dancing and still be stable.
sleep felt like a foreign concept to alice by now, but she wasn’t about to let people think that years of training had left her unable to do anything worthwhile.
the performance goes as smoothly as alice could hope for, dancing her heart out and singing with so much heart she ended up feeling like she’d just puked her entire soul out onto the practise room floor. was it enough, though?
the red light on the camera blinks out and she finally takes a much needed breath, bending over to grip her knees in her hands as she sucks in air like she’d just been suffocated. her muscles ache, and her head’s pounding, but she’s finished, and she can finally sleep.
at long last, she can rest.
THE INTERVIEW
“what did you think about the group songs?”
“i actually really liked both of them. i was pleasantly surprised that i enjoyed the dance and the lyrics of them both, but it made practising them a whole lot more enjoyable because i liked the songs so much.”
“and, why did you pick the song you chose for your solo performance?”
“i chose the shadow because i’m strongest in dancing, and it has really good choreo that can show off my dance skills well, while also showing i can sing. i thought despite it being an old song, it was well liked and sort of a classic, which i felt like i could give a bit of a modern touch to.”

dated september 28.
a serious-looking kim hyuncheol stares at huang alice. they’re sitting in his office, after the trainee has been called there upon arriving for her daily schedule.
“do you know why you’re here, alice?” he asks.
contrary to the popular belief, kim hyuncheol hates to do this. he hates having trainees come to his office to scold them or punish them. he can appear very emotionless and severe but it’s to protect himself from breaking down along with the trainees every time he needs to discipline them. each and every one of them are precious to him. of course, that doesn’t mean he will let any type of behavior slide. the new generation needs to be held up to even higher standards than the previous one.
“maybe you drank too much to remember. let me jog your memory. the company dinner. you sat at haru’s table. ring a bell?” he gives her some time to digest the information. “there’s a difference between a casual dinner and a college party. this was still a professional environment and your actions matter. yours, alice, were unacceptable. going around sitting on male trainees’ laps, in front of senior idols no less. do i really need to tell you they were shocked by what they saw?”
he pauses, takes a sip of coffee. “i believe this is your first offense. while it’s no excuse, let’s assume the alcohol clouded your judgement. you should know we will monitor your training closely from now on. be on your guard and display a pristine behavior if you don’t want to be in this office again, this time for something worse than a serious warning.” he looks at her for a moment, hoping she understands what he means.
“since you have deeply embarrassed us and the members of haru, a manager will bring you to their practice room so you can apologize to them for your behavior. please know better next time, alice. you show great promise, but i can only give so many passes. you may leave now, the manager is waiting outside.”
she should’ve expected this. after the mess of the company dinner she should’ve known they’d never let it slide. waking up the morning after the dinner with blurred memories of playing musical chairs with the boys laps, and a kiss she’d like to forget, she’d frankly been pretty ashamed of herself. she’d hoped it would go unnoticed, but of course, she never gets lucky.
she sits with her head hung, and it’s sincere. she’s never played up like that before, and she wishes she could shunt the blame onto someone else, or some external situation, but she can’t… it’s all on her, and she feels like poop for disappointing hyuncheol. hearing her actions said out loud like that makes her feel sick, the way it’s being framed like she’s some sort of promiscuous girl feels so wrong. those boys are her friends, and she’s always been affectionate with her friends. she should’ve known how it would look though, even in her drunken state.
her stomach churns at the thought of being monitored, like she’s a problem child who’s going to slip up and do something dumb again as soon as she isn’t being watched. she can’t speak, even though she wouldn’t know what to say if she could. her mouth’s dry, and her throat feels like there’s a lump of cotton wool blocking it.
it takes her a moment to swallow the lump down and practically whisper “i apologise for my actions.” before standing and leaving the office to meet the manager outside.
her next apology is going to feel even worse, she realises as she’s taken to haru’s practise room and stands with her head hung before them. “i apologise for my actions at the company dinner. it was unprofessional of me to act the way i did, and i hope this won’t make you feel negatively towards me in the future. i promise to learn from this and never make the same mistake again. i hope you’ll accept my apology.”
OOC NOTE
alice received an official warning on september 28. she may continue her training schedule as per usual, but managers will keep a close eye on her for the time being. ic, she completed her apology to haru on the same day but you’re free to write a solo about it or not since it won’t affect her situation. please feel free to respond to this prompt with alice’s reaction and thoughts. if you have any questions regarding the prompt you can of course contact the main.

LEGACY PROJECT : FUTURE DREAMS
THE RANKING
we dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams,
we are the dancers, we create the dreams.
OCTOBER 7TH, 2019
it isn’t the first time alice is having her hair done, although she hasn’t had it done in a long time. it’s odd. it makes her feel more ‘girly’. she’s so used to it always being tied up in a ponytail, or something bunches, that she’d almost forgotten what it looked like when she left it down. despite her usual tomboyishness, she finds herself feeling a lot more confident with hair and makeup done. staring at her reflection in the mirror she wonders if she can somehow make herself look this pretty everyday.
alice isn’t insecure really. not a lot, at least. she doesn’t think she’s stunningly beautiful, but she supposes she isn’t ugly. seeing herself all done up like this makes her wonder if maybe someone will see her today and think she’s pretty. that’d be nice. it isn’t often she’s noticed for her looks - if she ever is at all. it’s why she prides herself so highly on her dancing; you don’t have to look good to be a good dancer.
the small room she’s taken into alone is simple, as un-eye-catching as alice looked before her mini makeover that morning.
“please introduce yourself, and tell us how you feel about embarking on this new adventure!”
“my names huang xiyu, but you can call me alice. i’m 20 years old, and i’m from seattle, usa.” she starts with a bright smile, back straight and hands folded in her lap neatly. she’d been told before she tended to sit too much ‘like a boy’ - she supposes they meant she sat with her legs apart, and although she didn’t personally think it was a big deal, she wanted to be liked, and that meant trying to fit this socially accepted ideal that a girl has to sit with her knees together, have good posture, and smile sweetly.
of course, it always looks a little forced - it’s clear she isn’t the ‘sit pretty’ type, but at least she’s trying.
“i’m excited, of course, but a little nervous. it’s... going to be interesting, and a good experience to grow through; even if i don’t win, it’ll help me grow. i’m happy to be able to have this opportunity, no matter what the outcome is.”
her answer’s so generic that she worries she’ll sound boring, but she’s still getting the hang of talking without coming off to loud, or not ‘lady-like’ enough. it’s hard to maintain the sweet, girly facade when she just wants to slouch down in her chair and let her legs sit comfortably. her cheeks hurt from smiling so wide.
thankfully, she’s released after the initial introduction interview, if she could even call it that. she heads off into the main studio room alone, not even thinking to wait for anyone else - she’s too excited to see the set.
and oh boy does she see it.
the two pyramids are striking, and the chairs with the numbers on even more so. it makes her chew on her lips, not thinking about the fact that cameras are probably recording her entrance. she probably looks like a deer in headlights, footsteps slow and almost hesitant as she nears the pink pyramid (colour stereotypes, aye?).
10... she’s the lowest rank already?
her heart drops, and she stops in her steps, blinking at the chair at the very bottom of the pyramid. her mouth feels dry, and her heartbeat’s thrumming inside her head. the feeling gets even worse when she cranes her neck to look up at to see who’s at the top, and there, at number 2, is yujin. when won’t she be bested by her?
with a deep breath, alice makes her feet move, shouting at them inside her head to just go! finally she reaches the seat, and lowers herself onto the hard, unforgiving surface of it. it’s not even comfortable - no cushioning to soften the blow she just suffered to her self-worth.
she can see yonghwa across the room, in the 8th ranked seat of the boys pyramid. she wonders if he’s looking at yujin, then bites back the thought, turning her eyes away from him sharply.
then, things begin. bae siwoo appears, and alice tries to cheer up (even if it doesn’t work much). she forces some laughs, keeping her eyes on the action, rather than the people around her, and listens.
what she hears, however, is far from comforting. only one boy and one girl will win, and though they don’t win a solo debut, they win a solo song - they win. alice, sitting in her 10th place seat, slumps, realising her chances of winning are slim to none. she tried to sound like she just wanted to be there for the experience in the introduction interview, but of course she wants to win. who wouldn’t?
but now, she needs to accept that it isn’t going to happen. she’s last place already and it hasn’t even started. last place because the people who chose their rankings saw the least potential in her. last place because maybe she isn’t pretty enough, or girly enough, or likeable enough. she’s a good dancer, but maybe she needs to be better at everything else on top of that.
the rest of the information, about each groups songs, and learning the other groups songs too just sort of seeps into her head but doesn’t get properly registered. she knows she should be listening, but it’s hard when so far, the entire time she’s been in the main studio, she’s wanted to go home and cry into her favourite whale plushie.
she tries to look like she cares when they introduce the guest coaches, tries to be excited about working with them, but her smile feels as fake as it really is, and she can’t seem to figure out how to fix it. but, being in 10th, she supposes, means she’ll get little camera time anyway. all the focus is going to be at the top of the pyramids. she’s got no chance.
at long last, it’s over and all she has to do now is get through another interview. this one, inevitably, is going to be harder than the first. she leaves alone, just as she entered, trying to get as much room between her and that 10th chair as she possibly can. she wants to go home, to hide and pretend she didn’t just have an awful, pretty humiliating day. everyone saw her there in the 10th seat, everyone knows she’s fighting a losing battle in this show.
THE INTERVIEW
“so, alice, what did you think about your ranking?”
the interviewers first question stings. alice almost laughs at how much she doesn’t want to answer the question. “i was... disappointed, obviously. but... i have to look on the bright side - it’s an opportunity to prove that i can go from the bottom to the top.” it’s so fake, and forced that alice wonders whether they can tell. she wishes she could just be better at lying. she doesn’t want to say it feels embarrassing, that she feels like giving up, because that’s not going to make anyone like her.
“so, what rank do you think you should have been?”
“i’m not sure... i know all of the girls on that pyramid and know what they’re capable of, and i wouldn’t say i’m better than this girl, or that girl, but i just... don’t think i’m the worst of the lot.” she wishes it didn’t sound like she thought someone else was the worst, but if she isn’t, then someone else has to be, surely.
“and what worries you most about being here?”
that i might lose myself? that i’ll be further humiliated? there’s a lot of things that worry her now, and she wonders if even coming on the show was a good idea. “that i won’t win. or... that i won’t show a good side of myself, and be remembered negatively. i worry... that people won’t see me for who i really am, or that they will and just won’t like me.” she’s saying too much, she realises, so she stops, forces a smile, and hopes the interview will be over soon.
“that’s all for now, thank you.”
finally, she’s able to go home.

lgcezra:
he remembers how sweat used to bead, how it used to run, mingled with blood, into the crevasses of firm fists. he remembers the bitter taste of metal, of toss-up defeat and victory in the same round. and he remembers feeling free – freer than he had ever been – loosened, relieved. she provides him with a similar release, but it’s not the exact same; a fight without anger is just horseplay.
but it’s a kind of horseplay that he refuses to admit defeat to.
you surrender yet?
“you wish.”
she’s quick on her feet – a graceful opponent that contrasts his rigid, cutting style. and while she has speed and technique, he has brute strength. he pushes himself off the ground, rolling onto his back and throwing her off in the same movement. he then pounces to retaliate: he throws a punch ( or two, or three ), dodges attacks, and deflects all else. amidst the quick and dirty swipes, he pulls her in, pulls her close, and hooks an arm around her neck.
his nose wrinkles at the scent that then hits him.
“new shampoo,” he comments, tightening his grip so she can’t escape. “lavender?”
there’s adrenaline coursing through her veins, her body trying to tell her she’s in danger, but her mind knows better. she’s a worthy opponent for ezra. as she’s thrown off it takes her a second to roll back over onto her feet, trying to get back to facing ezra, hands lifting at the ready to defend or attack. each punch she dodges, or bats away with her forearm, trying to catch him in between punches to break his attack, but each is blocked.
then, he catches her - she blames herself for getting slopping in predicting his movements, expecting him to go for another punch. but she can’t help but laugh at his comment about her shampoo. she takes the lapse in defence to elbow him in the ribs and twist out of his hold, turning back to face him.
“you like it? i think i’m in a lavender phase.”
jumping close she ducks to jab at his side with a tight fist, then swoops over to the other side and flicks her foot out as she moves to try and catch his leg again, trying to catch his balance out from under him and topple him over again.
surrender, punk.

lgcsamee:
samee wasn’t a native resident to seoul, or even korea for that matter, so whenever she found the time, she went out and explored the area she now called home. sometimes she found a new restaurant with really good food, sometimes she found a cute boutique, she had even found a few quiet, independent coffee shops that were perfect for getting away from everything and huddling in with a book for the afternoon. usually this was something she did on her own, but today she was exploring around with a friend in tow - alice.
alice as a fellow trainee at legacy, and despite samee being older, alice had seniority over her. this made them feel like equals in a way, balancing out age and seniority helped since they both owed each other that respect. plus, they had some traits in common which made it easier to get along. samee wasn’t mad to have her along. “what kind of things are you interested in exploring? are you into shopping? entertainment? food?” this was also the perfect chance to get to know her a little better outside of her performance abilities and her social habits.
alice likes samee - there’s something about samee that relaxes alice even if she is older. they’d not spent an abundance of time together since they’d met; just enough to figure out that they were alike in many ways, and might very well get along well outside of training. so, when alice was invited out on one of samee’s ‘adventures’ around seoul, of course there was no way alice was going to say no.
“i like food!” is alice’s instantaneous reply. a flush quickly blossoms on her cheeks though, at her own eagerness to profess her adoration for all things edible. “shopping too though. i like disney things, as well. like the films, and the songs, and, honestly, i like the plushies of the animal characters.” she confesses with a shy smile. “i like sports too, and video games. but what about you? apart from exploring seoul, what do you like doing?”
uncharted waters.

event: lgc family concert interview date: before the concert location: interview room
alice knows the interviews are happening before she’s hurried into a room with lights, a camera, and a single seat, presumably for her to sit in as they ask her questions. this isn’t her first interview, though it doesn’t really make it any less nerve wracking. of course, she doesn’t let her nervousness show though as she smiles and takes a seat, focusing her attention on the interviewer with a polite smile.
“good morning, alice. i’m just going to be asking you a few questions.” the interviewer begins, and alice gives a small nod, shifting a little in her seat as she crosses one leg over the other.
“so, i’ll start with a simple one. are you excited to perform on stage?”
she’s right, it is simple, and alice isn’t sure she can get an interesting answer out of something so simply answered - but she has to try, this is practise for after she’s debuted after all. she’ll have to do lots of interviews, and mould the questions into something more fun to answer.
“oh yes! of course, i’m a bit nervous too,” she punctuates this with a small laugh, a slightly bashful smile on her lips. as long as she looks sweet, and likeable, she’ll have done her job. “i’ve been working so hard for so many weeks now that i’m excited to get to show what we’ve all been working on, but being on stage can be a bit intimidating, since i’m not yet completely used to it.” ‘give a little, but not too much’, she remembers being told by a trainer once.
“and, how did your rehearsals go? was there any time in particular that you found yourself struggling?”
“i think when kang jaehyuk walked in!” alice laughs softly, biting her lip to try and look a little coy. she’s not exactly lying - she was starstruck by him at first, but it’s her actions she pairs her words with that are the lie. she’s not one to be coy naturally, or lady-like, but she knows that her brash, loud and slightly boyish personality might not go down when right off the bat, and that she’ll have to stick to the well-loved sweet persona for now. “i’ve been a fan of his for a long time, so being coached by him did make me a little distracted, but after a bit it got easier and i learnt he’s even nicer in person that he seems on screen. but as for actual rehearsals... they went well. there were times when we all got tired and frustrated, but we all pushed through and are going to be bringing, hopefully, a great performance to everyone.”
“was it very different working with trainees outside of your usual training group?”
“not really, since i’ve met most of them already, having been a trainee for so long myself. i like to make it a habit to make the new trainees feel welcome, since i know how much of a change it can be for some people, especially foreign trainees like me. so, i knew most of the people i was working with already, so it was nice. i got to see what they can all do finally.”
“how did you feel working with senior idols? was there anyone in particular that you really liked?”
“kang jaehyuk and yp were my favourites. i think since i’m a dancer, and yp sunbaenim especially is a great dancer, and the main dancer, i felt like i could learn a lot from him. i want to be a main dancer too one day, so it was helpful having him gives us all tips and keep up working hard. jaehyuk sunbaenim was just lovely - he’s really cheerful and kind, so it was a nice break from more strict seniors.”
“do you feel ready for the concert?”
“i think so. we’ve all prepared for so long. and spent so much time perfecting everything that I think we’re all ready! that being said, you can always improve, so I know if i did have more time i might be able to do better. but what i’ve prepared, and the point i’ve got to, i hope i can show a good performance that people will enjoy.”
“thank you, that’s all.”

event: lgc family concert rehearsals date: sept. 19th location: lgc practise room
the previous weeks had taken their tole on alice. her muscles ached and her eyelids drooped - she was exhausted. but, she was used to it. she’d been doing this for years now, although the training was usually less harsh, she realised it was good training for when she finally debuted. she’d have to work harder, probably a lot like how she was working now, with the other girls, trying to perfect her lines, her dance moves, the simplest of smiles towards the audience.
working under different idols through the past few weeks, learning from them and stuffing her brain full of their tips and tricks, making sure she used every single one, was, in itself, a tiring thing. alice wasn’t able to really be herself in these sessions, under the eagle eyes of someone so senior to her. she couldn’t goof around and be playful, she had to keep her serious face on and work hard.
she thinks that one day, when she’s debuted and her group can look after themselves and practise unsupervised she’ll be pleased - she’ll be where she wants to be without having to hide behind a serious mask that’s so unlike her. she can’t wait for the day when this practise, this training she’s working so hard to perfect will be put to good use and she’ll be able to stand on stage like she’s been dreaming of ever since she realised her happy accident of being signed was really a blessing in disguise.
alice recalls the moment the moment in the first week where her eyes fell on kang jaehyuk as he entered their practise room. her jaw had dropped. she’d been a fan of his for a while, and seeing him so up close had her nervous she’d make a mistake in her dancing simply by him being there. alice recalls the class he coached as one of her favourites - he was just so nice.
but now, as she stands in the largest practise room with all the other trainees and artists, ready to do a full scale rehearsal, she can feel her hands getting clammy. of course, it’s natural to be nervous, and oh boy alice is nervous. her throat feels dry, and her knees weak as she turns her head from left to right to look at everyone gathered together in the huge space.
the concert’s tomorrow, and alice isn’t sure she’s ready. right up until the moment before she starts dancing and has to sing and rap, she’s not sure. but, when everything comes to a close, and the rehearsals complete, and she received no criticism, she realises she didn’t do badly. that or she was unnoticeable.
she can do this, she’s sure of it.

lgcyonghwa:
Everyone seemed to be having a good time, especially now that alcohol was involved. Yonghwa watched as glasses became empty and refilled, eyes darting to the other tables occasionally with a concerned frown. Contrary to rumors, he was not opposed to drinking at social gatherings. This, however, was not an ordinary party. There were idols around, which made it especially important to maintain their image. Yonghwa pretended to drink more than he actually did, taking shallow sips whenever he could get away with it just to keep himself in check.
Some of the others weren’t behaving so well, especially the younger trainees.
Yonghwa poured lemon water for all of the BLAZing girls, just in case any of them wanted to drink that instead of more alcohol, and then excused himself for the bathroom. When he came out, a familiar figure rushed to his side. Alice. With a smile on her face too, which was a pleasant change. Since their break up last year, he hadn’t been graced with a cheerful expression like this.
The girl was tipsy, that much was for sure. He could smell alcohol on her as clearly as he did the treats on her napkin. Her appearance brought back a wave of memories, about how she used to run towards him with pastries after dance practice. “Hey,” he greeted carefully, examining the sweets on the napkin. She definitely stole a quarter of the dessert plate, this silly girl. “How have you been?” Yonghwa asked, feeling slightly awkward. Damn, he was too sober for this, was it too late now to take a shot because he needed it.
alice had begun the night telling herself she most certainly was not going to get drunk and make a fool of herself. however, that didn’t seem to be going too well. she stumbles her way around the table she’s sat at, seating herself in every other trainee at the tables lap. she’d started with ezra, then gone full circle, having enough clarity of mind to know she had to skip the idols at the table and only sit on her fellow trainees, though.
somehow, she’d managed to drink herself into an excited, giggly state though, and had filled a napkin full of confectionaries. little frosted cakes and sugar candy almost falling out of the napkin. she pops one in her mouth as her eyes scour the room, falling on yonghwa at the other end of the room making his way over to the bathrooms.
she’s not sure why she does it, but she jumps up from her perch on one of the laps she had commandeered and weaves her way through people milling around to slide up beside yonghwa, not even bothering with a hello in return to his friendly greeting, instead lifting a little pastry from her napkin, only a mouthful size, and force feeding it to the tall boy before her. “here! try! they’re lovely! just like you!” she giggles, then pops a sugar candy in her mouth, crunching on it as she wraps the napkin up around the confectionaries and shoves the whole thing into her crossbody bag, ignoring how it bulges from being overfilled.
“i’ve been gooood... i think.” another soft giggle escapes her as she leans against the wall beside them.

golden afternoon.
starter for @lgchime !
“I wanna be where the people are I wanna see Wanna see 'em dancing...”
Alice’s voice is soft as she sit at the piano, playing the tune she’d learnt a long time ago to accompany her voice. She’s waiting for Hime to join her in the little practise room, just about big enough to fit a couple chairs and the piano inside. It’s one of Alice’s favourite places to come to wind down after a long training day, and sing any songs she feels like singing, or learn how to play them on the piano.
A while back Alice had found out Hime and she had a lot in common - loving Disney being one of them. So, Alice, being the friendly girl she is, invited Hime to her relaxing Disney sing-song sessions. They don’t meet up often, but when they do Alice will usually record it, just for her to refer back to later and keep track of her progress. She also likes to remind herself of how much fun her and Hime have together at these times. It’s not just singing, it’s bonding, making friendships, because who knows what groups they’ll debut in.
If they ever get to debut, that is...
So, she sings as she waits, warming up for whatever song they decide to sing today. Alice knows pretty much all of them, having learnt songs as soon as movies came out. It’s no effort to remember the right keys to press, no effort to remember the lyrics, so her focus can always be on perfecting her techniques.
It’s just more fun when you have a friend to do all that with.
