Okay I know I've made like three posts about this one specific thing but I gotta say, anyone who calls Halsin a typical boring Druid either doesn't understand Halsin or doesn't understand Druids, because Halsin is very much an atypical Druid.
Just a few ways Halsin is different than other Druids:
He can't control his wildshape. He transforms involuntarily when under stress, which is not a thing other Druids experience, and he can't control himself fully in wildshape either. He retains traits, such as an enhanced sense of smell, out of his wildshape form, and has the ability to remain as a bear borderline indefinitely, instead of Druids usually only being able to maintain the same form for a couple hours at most.
He doesn't hate undead; he views them the same as living creatures, worthy of life. He cares for Astarion deeply, and is furious if the player allows the 7,000 spawn to die. (He's a little nicer if they do it for a mercy kill instead of the ritual, but is clearly only happy when they are released into the Underdark, the exact thing a Druid is supposed to want to avoid.)
He dislikes the city because it displaces nature, yes, but he VERY rarely says that. Instead, almost every time he laments the conditions of Baldur's Gate, what distresses him is how capitalistic systems harm sentient beings- especially children. He is more upset at the human(oid) suffering he encounters in the city than he is at how it displaces nature.
Halsin is on an obviously morally good alignment. While Druids are no longer required to be neutral, most still are anyway, especially those from the Emerald Enclave, which the Emerald Grove is part of.
Emerald Enclave Druids are encouraged to sabotage society; they breed aggressive animals and place them near settlements to deter development, secretly sponsor brigands to attack new settlements, and simultaneously interact with local populations by providing sweet drinks and teas to boost their public image, so that new developments are curtailed while nearby people think the Druids are kind and harmless. Halsin very notably never even thinks about doing such things, even though it would be trivial for him to do so.
While Halsin's explanation for wanting to stop the Absolute is initially far more in line with Druidic thinking (they're unnatural, obviously), he later grows to want it finished because he wants you, the player, and your friends to be safe.
Halsin has zero desire to ladder-climb in the ranks of the Druids, nor to grow more powerful; he was perfectly happy as he was before the Shadow Curse, and is quite upset he had to waste 100 years of his life "dealing with others' problems and personalities." BUT the fact that he was happy to just that as alderman of his commune suggests the problem was with being forced into the position and being relied on as the sole authority, instead of one trusted elder of many.
Halsin wants children desperately, but was kept from having them by his leadership role. This is yet another example of how, despite his deeply held beliefs, being a Druid ultimately made him less happy.
Halsin isn't very good at leading the Druids, to the point that many of his Druids resent him, many are swayed to a cult the instant he leaves, and he himself decides the best thing he could possibly do for the Grove is leave it and have a better leader come in and take over.
Nearly every struggle Halsin has in the game arises from a conflict with his Druidic beliefs- whether it's his need to cleanse the Shadow Curse causing him to be an ineffective leader of the Grove, his desire for a family being held back by his leadership role, or his love of humanity battling against his hatred for cities as unnatural blots on nature.
Basically, nearly every character beat Halsin has comes from him not being a typical Druid at all, and in some cases, from him being rather bad at being the things Druids are supposed to be.

love in recovery!: the unmanliest of pairs ✧˖° ༯
༉‧₊˚. part two to love in recovery ✧˚ · . bakugou cant stop thinking about you, he reflects on your moments together during the last few weeks and decides hes gotta see you! one problem though, schools are out of session for winter break and he has no idea where to find you. thankfully theres midoriya!
✎ wc: 7946
⤑ tw: not proofread, cursing, also i ended up taking the love at first site route with this so it might be ooc bakugou… </3 or maybe its very in character bc ur just that awesome he couldnt help himself really (it gets pretty ooc at the end, i was struggling but i NEEDED it to end that way so his usual demeanor had to disappear for a sec.)
bakugou was in what he believed was a state of despair. his mind, usually consumed with concerns about hero work and his so-called “publicity problems,” had recently become fixated on something entirely different: you.
it all began when bakugou was enlisted to help out during finals week at his old high school. the hero course students were gearing up for a practical exam against pro heroes. he remembered his own practical exams, which were conducted by his old teachers. this time, however, the school decided to mix things up by bringing in younger, fresher heroes. the idea was to inspire the students and give them a chance to work with their idols, pros they don't get to see on a daily basis. additionally, it provided a great opportunity to boost the young pros' hero rankings–
and it was a nice tax break for the agencies involved.
“itll be nice to roam those familiar halls, and visit our old teachers and our classrooms, where our forgotten youth still lingers.” tokoyami remarked, his voice heavy with a wistful undertone. they all exchange uneasy glances before kirishima placed a comforting hand on tokoyamis shoulder and cleared his throat.
“yeah something like that man– heard midoriya talking about a few new heroes joining in,” kirishima added shifting the focus.
“yeah! heard recovery girl finally retired. the new one’s apparently a cutie,” kaminari said leaning back into his seat with a wide grin.
“she is! izukus invited her a couple times when we met up with our old group,” uraraka said, her face lighting up with enthusiasm. “she’s got this really warm, friendly vibe. every time ive worked with her, she’s been so caring and attentive. it’s clear she really loves what she does”
“yep! she’s healed me once! she really knows her stuff–her quirk is impressive, shes also got this reassuring presence that makes you feel better just being around her,” tsuyu added with a smile.
“who cares about that kind of crap?” bakugou grumbled, rolling his eyes. “didnt meet up to talk about some new nurse. what i want to know is what kind of target practice we’re dealing with for the next two weeks."
the group let out a unified sigh as the conversation shifted back to their work. they shared notes from the recent sports festivals and began detailing the students they’d be testing, outlining the quirks and abilities to expect. each pro hero reviewed the information attentively, mentally preparing for the demanding two weeks ahead.
∘₊ ───── ₊ ∘ ♡︎ ∘ ₊────── ₊∘
on the first day of finals, the six pros entered the building, the familiar halls of u.a. stirring memories of their own time as students. the air was thick with anticipation, a mixture of nerves and nostalgia that tugged at their senses. aizawa met them at the entrance, his usual tired expression softened slightly as he acknowledged his former students with a curt nod.
“you’re cutting it close,”aizawa murmured, gesturing for them to follow him. “the students are already in the testing site, so we need to head there immediately”
“apologies, mr. aizawa," tokoyami added, his tone somber. "i feared glimpsing the shadows of our past selves, the echoes we once cast.” his words left the group staring at him awkwardly.
“he missed the bus,” kirishima clarified with a shake of his head. aizawa nodded, already familiar with tokoyamis, interesting demeanor. there was no time for pleasantries or catching up with their old teachers, as they were already running a bit late. the group moved swiftly through the corridors, their footsteps echoing in the quiet of the school.
as they rounded a corner, they passed by the infirmary. the door was slightly ajar, and midoriya was leaning casually against the doorframe, his posture relaxed. he was engaged in conversation with someone inside, his voice carrying a tone of lighthearted teasing that caught their attention.
“yeah, well, let’s hope we don’t run into each other too much today. if the students stay injury-free, you might actually get a chance to relax!” midoriya’s smile was bright, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he spoke.
bakugou barely registered midoriya’s words, his attention immediately caught by the soft, warm laugh that followed.
“god, i wish,” you replied with a playful sigh, amusement lacing your voice. “but if these kids are anything like aizawa described you, i’ll probably end up needing help myself.”
as the group walked by, bakugou’s eyes were already peering in, there you were standing in the infirmary, leaning against a counter with a white coat draped over your frame. the crisp, clean fabric paired nicely with the light color of your sundress which fell loosely around you. your arms were crossed casually, and the cheeky grin on your face sent an unexplainable jolt through him.
for a brief moment, bakugou’s mind scrambled for an explanation—had one of these brats used their quirk on him? his palms grew damp, a slight prickling sensation tingling beneath his skin, but he quickly dismissed it, convincing himself it was just the heat of the building, the stress of the upcoming practicals. but deep down, he knew that wasn’t it.
your eyes briefly met his as they walked past, and the world seemed to snap back into focus. he scowled, turning his gaze back to the path ahead, but the image of you lingered in his mind, seared into his thoughts like a stubborn ember refusing to die out.
“damn brats,” he muttered under his breath, more to himself than anyone else, as they continued on their way to the testing site. but his usual biting tone lacked its usual conviction, the warmth of your laugh still echoing in his ears, a sound that somehow felt both familiar and entirely new.
∘₊ ────── ₊ ∘ ♡︎ ∘ ₊────── ₊∘
at the end of the day, bakugou found himself walking down a very familiar hallway, telling himself it was only because this was the way he’d come in. why wouldn’t he leave the same way? his idiot friends were probably lost, trying to find their way out of the school from the testing site, so it only made sense to take this route.
right?
as he continued down towards the front entrance of the school, he just so happened to pass the infirmary.
he noticed two students exiting the room. one of them had a faint blush on his cheeks—probably a reaction to your quirk. bakugou’s mind flashed back to his first time being healed by recovery girl. even though she was an old lady, the awkwardness of the whole process still made him flush with embarrassment. he couldn't imagine how much worse it wouldve been if the healer had been someone like you someone younger.
just then, he remembered the scratch—no, more like a faint slash—on the right side of his forehead.
might as well get checked out while he was here, he reasoned. hed be cursing himself if that damn wound messed with his performance during his shift later. plus, if he was going to be dealing with more students tomorrow, he needed to be at his best.
with that excuse firmly in mind, bakugou took a deep breath and headed towards the infirmary, trying to ignore the way his pulse quickened, though he figured it was just the tightness of the quirk nullifying bands around his wrists. it couldnt have anything to do with you.
he stepped in quietly, noticing how you were engrossed in paperwork, likely documenting all the students you’d treated that day. the room was filled with the soft rustling of papers, and the sterile scent of antiseptic lingered in the air. bakugou stood at the doorframe for a moment, feeling like an idiot the longer he stood there. despite his intense glare, you seemed completely oblivious to his presence.
with an irritated huff, bakugou strode over to one of the infirmary beds and dropped himself onto it, the springs creaking under his weight. the sudden noise finally jolted you out of your focus. your eyes snapped up, widening in surprise, and bakugou smirked to himself when he saw your hand tighten around your pen, like you were ready to use it as a weapon against whoever dared to intrude.
“got hit,” he stated flatly, pointing at the cut on his forehead.
you raised an eyebrow, “oh? pro hero dynamite got bested by a couple of kids?” you teased, your tone light but your eyes filled with a playful glint.
from you, his usual scowl deepening. “second, they made me go easy on those brats. ‘course they landed a hit. not like they could keep up with me.” he said, mimicking the instructors’ voices with exaggerated annoyance. “‘told me i couldn’t just fail them all, it would ruin their self-esteem.”
he grumbled, still irked by the memory. he couldn’t shake the irritation gnawing at him. he was totally against going easy on them; he knew firsthand that failure was crucial for getting stronger. it wasn’t about being a jerk—it was about giving them the chance to face their weaknesses and improve. he was pissed off that they were missing out on that important lesson. but he also knew that if he defied the rules, it would only make things worse for everyone. so, as much as it grated on him, he followed the damn rules.
as he watched you move closer to him, he noticed you were trying to hold back a smile, he also saw the glint of amusement in your eyes, which made his chest tighten in a way he wasn’t used to. while you inspected his forehead, he felt an odd vulnerability.
he felt your gaze scan his entire body, a mix of frustration and discomfort bubbling beneath the surface as your closeness stirred unsettling feelings. a strong heat rose at the back of his neck, and he tried to distract himself by focusing on the wall behind you. when your eyes finally landed on his wrists, you picked up one of his hands and examined it with even greater intensity. your shocked expression was unmistakable, and it was clear you couldn’t hide it.
“they slapped these on too,” he grumbled, gesturing to the heavy weights strapped to his ankles. he couldn't stop himself from trying to show off a little bit more, “said it was to ‘even the playing field.’ whatever that means.”
you hummed thoughtfully, gently inspecting the quirk-suppressing bands. “they really didn’t want you going all out, huh?” you murmured, your tone both curious and sympathetic.
he huffed, crossing his arms defensively. “if i hadn’t been wearing all this crap, they wouldn’t have landed a damn finger on me.”
he pointed to the small cut on his forehead again, a slight tilt of his head trying to hint that he was expecting something. he remembered the conversation with his friends when they were going over the students quirks, someone had mentioned that you were like recovery girl or something, using a quirk that required a kiss to heal. he didn’t get why you had to be so soft about it, but he also didn’t want to look like a complete idiot and ask for it directly.
“what, you think i’m here for a band-aid? just get it over with already.”
you stared at him with an odd look on your face. after a moment of silence, you muttered a quiet, “right,” before your lips brushed lightly against the cut on his wrist. the warmth of your touch was unexpectedly soothing, sending a strange flutter through his chest that he quickly shoved aside.
“all set!” you said softly, moving over to your desk to busy yourself with paperwork. he glanced at the mirror, checking the spot where the cut had been. satisfied, he started to leave but paused when he heard you chuckle softly.
“what’s so funny?” he asked, irritation mingling with curiosity.
“oh, nothing,” you replied, “just picturing you going easy on a bunch of kids. it’s hard to imagine.”
he grunted in response, feeling a rare twitch of amusement at the corners of his mouth. it was an unfamiliar sensation, and he didn’t know how to process it, which seemed to be a recurring theme in this room.
“don’t get used to it,” he warned, “next time, those brats won’t know what hit ‘em.”
you rolled your eyes, finally allowing yourself to smile as you watched him head toward the door. “try not to get hit again, dynamite,” you called after him, half-teasing, half-serious.
he glanced back at you, smirking. “don’t hold your breath.”
bakugou made his way down the halls toward the front of the building, a strange shift occurring within him as he thought about the odd sensations he’d experienced in your room. he’d always prided himself on being the toughest, most unbeatable guy around—someone who didn’t need anyone’s sympathy or affection. he certainly didn’t care for any of that sappy, lovey-dovey stuff.
but after you gave him a quick kiss on the forehead and let out that soft laugh—just like the one he’d heard earlier, but this one had been for him—he felt an unfamiliar warmth. your playful teasing, the way your cheeks flushed as you avoided his gaze, and the gentle touch as you healed his cut all lingered in his mind. as he walked out the doors of ua, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he might actually care about that ‘kind of crap.’
∘₊ ────── ₊ ∘ ♡︎ ∘ ₊────── ₊∘
after that, he stopped by every day, always after the students were gone. he didn’t want them getting the wrong idea about his frequent visits. he was only coming by because it was convenient and you were tolerable. plus, you just happened to be on his way out, so he figured he might as well check in to make sure you weren’t slacking off. with the kids getting roughed up more than usual because of him, it was his duty as a pro hero to ensure the school’s support staff could handle the extra strain.
they had reached the end of the week, marking the completion of the first half of finals. students would rest over the weekend to prepare, as next week the rest of the second-years and first-years would be taking their tests. after that, school would be out for winter break and the young pro-heros would get to go back to working full time.
today, he decided to check in and ensure the infirmary was fully stocked. it wouldn’t do for you to run out of supplies in the middle of finals. he couldn’t focus on his part if he knew the kids wouldn’t get the proper care they needed afterward. so he had to make sure you had everything you needed for the upcoming week.
he marched in with his usual scowl, pretending to inspect the shelves while you stared at him, an eyebrow raised in confusion, “do you need anything dynamite?”
“making sure youre all stocked up.” he grumbled, refusing to meet your gaze. “don’t need any of these brats whining because you’re out of bandages.”
“oh? you know, i’m perfectly capable of keeping things in order,” you teased, leaning back against the counter with that same cheeky grin that had been haunting his thoughts.
as if on cue, he’d suddenly remember a tiny scratch on his cheek today. they were always minor injuries—barely worth a second glance—but he made a point of showing them to you, as if they needed your immediate attention, always saying something like:
“got a cut on my finger. don’t need a fuss, just make it quick.”
“got a little nick on my palm, just need it wrapped up or whatever.”
“got a scratch here. honestly nothing, but i guess you should take a look.”
you always had something smart to say, today you went with, “oh, look at that,”
after his second visit, your tone began to shift from actual concern to a mix of amusement and feigned concern. “you’ve got a little scrape. better let me take care of that.”
he’d huff, pretending like it wasn’t a big deal. “just get it over with.”
during his second, third, and fourth visits, you tended to his injury with a regular old first aid kit. you explained that it was better to let such a minor cut heal on its own, emphasizing how small the injury was—something that only seemed to irritate bakugou. you wanted to ensure that his body didn’t become dependent on a quirk for healing, even for minor wounds.
bakugou didn’t argue or ask for any extra attention. he was determined to stay above such petty requests. however, he found that he didn’t mind the touch of your hands, which were gentle and precise. each time your fingers brushed against his skin, he felt a small, unwelcome jolt of warmth, though he never let it show.
but today was different.
today felt like the first day all over again.
he hoped you couldn’t see or feel the heat radiating from him as you leaned in and teased, “so, bakugou, are you here for the healing, or do you just enjoy my company?” you raised an eyebrow playfully. “because these tiny bruises hardly seem worth the trip.”
you gave him a quick peck on the cheek, and he instantly felt the soothing effects of your quirk.
“told you, it’s about staying in top shape. can’t have anything slowing me down, not even a damn scratch,” he snapped, his voice tinged with a forced irritation. “gotta be at my best if i’m gonna be number one.”
as you leaned back, your gaze lingered on him with an unreadable expression. the soft, ambient light of the infirmary cast a gentle glow around you, accentuating the warmth of your smile. despite the cool air, he felt an intense heat creep to his neck, betraying his attempt to stay composed.
bakugou turned his face slightly, trying to ignore the way his heart was pounding. mumbling a quick thanks, he tried to regain his composure, his movements slightly stiff as he prepared to leave.
he walks out of your office thinking about how he wished he would have let his friends talk about the new nurse at ua.
∘₊ ────── ₊ ∘ ♡︎ ∘ ₊────── ₊∘
bakugou nearly missed his visit today. it was the last day of finals, and his friends were eager to celebrate the end of the grueling two weeks of work. they wanted to head to a café around the corner—a favorite spot from their school days. bakugou had initially planned to meet them there, but they insisted on walking together. this was why he now found himself angrily trudging through the school halls, his frown evident as he moved.
when they stepped out of the school, bakugou abruptly stopped in his tracks. he quickly patted himself down, feigning realization that he had forgotten his phone. he put on a show, acting as if he was in a rush to retrieve it.
after a brief and hurried detour, he found his way back to the infirmary, dashing through the corridors with the same urgency as a student late to class. he slowed down every time he passed an open door, then sped up again, repeating this process until he finally arrived back at the infirmary.
his frustration was already high from the charade, but it reached new heights when he saw you and midoriya together, seemingly engrossed in each other. you were sitting close, helping midoriya upload the practical grades onto a computer. the sight of you two so close, with midoriya’s easy smile and your focused attention, only intensified bakugou's irritation.
he slumped onto one of the infirmary beds, his posture stiff and impatient. he crossed his arms over his chest and stared at the ceiling, waiting for you and midoriya to finish what he perceived as an overly affectionate interaction. he tried to ignore the twinge of jealousy that flared up every time he glanced at the two of you, his mood darkening with each passing moment.
“i don’t think i’ve ever seen you visit recovery girl this much back in our school days, kachann,” bakugou quickly turned to his childhood friend, his eyes narrowed and his palms began to warm up. but just before he could bark out a reply, you had cut in, “what?”
bakugou’s patience snapped as midoriya’s smirk widened. midoriyas voice dropped to a teasing tone. “oh, nothing. just noticing how often you’re in here these days, bakugou. you know, back in the day, you couldn’t stand being patched up, always rushing out before recovery girl could even finish. funny how things change.”
the words hit bakugou like a punch to the gut. he felt his anger flare, his fists clenching at his sides. he shot to his feet, his voice coming out in a low, threatening growl. “scram, nerd. didn’t want old lady lips on me back then, and i sure as hell don’t want you flappin’ yours now.”
midoriya chuckled, raising his hands in mock surrender as he took a step back. he thanked you once more before giving bakugou a teasing smile and walking out of the room, leaving the two of you alone.
bakugou’s irritation simmered as he watched midoriya leave. the heat in his cheeks was a mix of embarrassment and anger. he slumped back onto the infirmary bed, trying to shake off the tension that midoriya’s comments had stirred up inside him.
you turned your full attention to him, a small laugh escaping your lips. “you’re really going to blow a gasket one of these days, bakugou,” you teased, walking over with a calm, collected grace. the way you moved, so assured and at ease, only seemed to fuel his inner turmoil.
“shut up and just get on with it,” he grumbled, but it was clear there was no bite to his words. he was trying to mask the red creeping up his neck. he was determined not to let you see how much midoriya’s comments had affected him.
and its like the universe was against him because you couldn’t resist one last tease before getting down to business. “you’ve really gotta tell me, are you here for the treatment, or is it my company you’re after?” the playful glint in your eye made his facade crumble a little bit.
“just do your damn job,” he muttered, though he couldn’t entirely hide the faintest hint of a smile that tugged at the corner of his mouth as he sat back down. your teasing, while annoying, had a way of making him feel strangely at ease.
he decided the universe was on his side again when you leaned in, pressing a light kiss to the small bruise on his shoulder. bakugou watched you intently, his irritation slowly melting away under the soothing warmth of your quirk. despite his gruff exterior, he always found that during these moments with you, whether you used your quirk or not, the constant pressure he carried with him all day would finally start to ease up.
as you gently pulled back, your eyes locked with his. today was the last day he’d have the chance to drop by like this. over the past two weeks, these visits had become a regular part of his routine. lately, he’d started coming in the mornings and in between his scheduled practicals, under the guise of “checking up on the students he roughed up.”
this would be the final time he could casually walk in and share these small, meaningful moments with you. the thought of missing these interactions left him more unsettled than he wanted to admit. before you could say anything, he stood up abruptly, a mix of emotions flashing across his face. without another word, he turned and made his way to the door, his footsteps heavy with unspoken feelings.
“bakugou,” you called out, making him stop pause. he turned to face you, the hint of curiosity in his eyes.
you offered him a playful smile, trying to lighten the mood. “be careful out there. won’t be around to patch all those little scrapes and bruises.”
he raised an eyebrow, his scowl softening slightly as he took in your words. “so?”
you shrugged, a teasing grin on your lips. “sooo don’t want those little injuries to add up and start slowing you down, especially with your fight for the number one spot and all.”
he huffed, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “no promises,” he muttered, his gaze lingering on you for a moment longer before he turned and walked out of your little office for the last time.
the door clicked shut behind him, and as he moved down the hallways, now deserted with all the students gone, he realized that the mess of emotions inside him wasn’t from any damn quirk. on top of that, he couldn’t shake the relentless feeling that he’d regret leaving you behind without finally tell you how he really felt, even if it still confused the hell out of him.
∘₊ ────── ₊ ∘ ♡︎ ∘ ₊────── ₊∘
he was right.
bakugou walked out of his agency with his usual scowl, but his mind was elsewhere. instead of focusing on his next mission, he replayed every interaction between the two of you—how you treated the students and tended to his cuts and bruises. he thought about your caring nature, your teasing attitude, and how your presence seemed to calm him despite his usual irritation. admitting that he missed you or cared more than he let on was still out of the question; he wasn’t ready for that. which is why he found himself in a state of despair.
but it wouldn’t hurt to see you again, he reasoned. after all, he had a sizable cut on his hand from a fierce battle earlier that day—a paper cut from adding more paper to the printer. he blasted his way back to ua high school, his heart pounding for some odd reason.
he rushed up the front steps, frustration barely contained as he shook the door handles, convinced they were just stiff from the cold. as he stepped back, preparing to blast the doors open, he noticed a small sign that read, "winter break has begun—ua is closed." his face fell, disappointment clear in his features.
he completely forgot.
with a muttered string of curses, he turned around, heading back to his agency, his mood darkened by a sense of missed opportunity and lingering irritation.
that same night he nearly looked you up on social media, but decided he was above that–although he had no problems getting purposely ‘injured’ just to see you again. he decided that he needed to talk to you in person. he was not gonna message you on social media like some extra.
though it was painful to admit, bakugou decided midoriya was his best bet for advice, you two were colleagues after all. the two had gone through a rough patch during middle school and their first year of high school, but they’d grown closer after the war. their relationship was like that of brothers, marked by teasing and occasional verbal jabs. and just as midoriya had influenced bakugou, bakugou had also rubbed off on midoriya.
“holy shit, just admit it! admit you like her,” midoriya whisper-yelled, his voice trembling with exasperation as he buried his head in his hands. he’d spent the past hour trying to break through bakugou’s walls, desperately attempting to get his childhood best friend to confess his obvious feelings for you.
“i don’t know what the hell you’re talking about,” bakugou replied with a dismissive shrug, his eyes narrowing slightly as he leaned back in his chair. he crossed his arms over his chest, feigning indifference, but his heart was racing so fast it felt like it might burst out of his chest. the muscles in his jaw tensed as he tried to maintain his composure, but even he could feel the cracks forming in his facade.
midoriya looked up, frustration evident in his furrowed brow. “you’ve got to be kidding me, katsuki. you dragged me out here to talk about her. it’s written all over your damn face.”
bakugou’s eyes flickered with irritation as he let out a low growl, his voice rising slightly in response to midoriya’s persistence. “seriously, what’s your deal with this lovey-dovey crap?” he snapped, leaning forward so forcefully that the chair creaked under the pressure.
“i came here to hang out, not to spill my guts about feelings, and the only thing written on my face is— ”he paused for dramatic effect, pointing to his left cheek,“—number,” he pointed to his right cheek, as if marking the spot. “—one!” his voice rose in defiant emphasis, though the strained expression on his face revealed just how much he was trying to keep his composure.
midoriya’s gaze sharpened, a mix of irritation and amusement dancing in his eyes. but before he could respond, bakugou cut him off sharply.
“i also didn’t drag you anywhere!” bakugou snapped, his voice cracking slightly as he fought to keep his emotions in check. “you came here on your own.”
“so—” midoriya began, but bakugou was already back on the defensive.
“but if you’re so damn desperate to talk about her, then go ahead. i won’t stop you” bakugou interrupted, his voice laced with challenge as he glared at midoriya.
midoriya couldn’t help but let out a small laugh, shaking his head in disbelief. “you’re impossible, you know that? you’re just making it more obvious that you care.”
bakugou’s expression suddenly shifted. He stared at his friend, frustration and resignation mixing in his eyes, his shoulders slumping slightly as if he’d finally decided to let his guard down. “damn it, fine,” he muttered, the words coming out in a mix of defeat and reluctant honesty. “i thought it was just her quirk at first—you know how it works, right? you had that old lady’s lips on you all the time. figured i was just feeling awkward from the situation.”
midoriya’s eyes widened in surprise. “wait, her quirk—”
“hold on, i’m not done,” bakugou snapped, cutting him off abruptly. “after that, she started taking care of me without using her quirk. like, really looking out for me, making sure i was okay. that’s when i figured out it wasn’t just her damn power messing with my head. it’s her. it’s the way she talks, the way she looks at me, the way she gives a damn about people. the more we talked over the past two weeks, the more i realized…i actually give a shit.”
midoriya’s mouth opened, but he was interrupted by both of their phones buzzing with an urgent alert. they both glanced at their screens, and midoriya’s expression shifted to one of concern.
“shit,” bakugou muttered, grabbing his jacket. “they need all pros in the area.”
midoriya nodded, his face set in determination. “we’ve gotta go. now.”
“yeah,” bakugou agreed, already heading for the door. “we’ll talk later.”
they both slammed some cash down onto the table before rushing out of the café, the urgency of the situation taking over. bakugou's thoughts about you and the emotional revelations would have to wait; their immediate priority was to respond to the villain attack and protect the city.

bakugou limped through the bustling emergency room, his face twisted in pain and frustration. he tried to ignore the nagging sense of vulnerability that came with his injuries. that stupid villain had managed to pull a fast one on him, landing a nasty hit before bakugou practically blew him to bits.
midoriya, being his usual self, had quickly suggested that the best treatment for bakugou’s injuries was at the very hospital where you volunteered, an effort to have you guys see each other again. normally, bakugou would have avoided causing a scene in a hospital, preferring to get patched up at his agency instead. however, midoriya’s persistence and his offer to handle all the paperwork made it difficult for bakugou to refuse.
he sighed as he let kaminari, sero, and kirishima come along with him, clearly annoyed but determined not to let midoriya’s plan fall through. as he trudged along.
the chaotic hustle and bustle of the emergency room was in full swing, a symphony of beeping monitors, hurried footsteps, and urgent conversations. nurses and doctors moved briskly, attending to patients with practiced efficiency. bakugou’s irritation only grew as he was directed to sit and wait for some doctor anderson.
“i’ll wait,” bakugou growled, clenching his jaw. “i want the best of the best. that means ms. y/l/n.”
the medical staff exchanged uncertain glances, trying to balance their duties with the stubborn hero’s demands. “she’s just a volunteer here, and she already has quite the list,” one of the doctors said, attempting to reason with him. “we really need to—”
bakugou’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “you questioning me?!” he snarled, his voice thundering through the corridor, shaking the air with its intensity. the staff, taken aback by his explosive temper, quickly scrambled to comply, knowing better than to argue with him.
with a flurry of activity, they stabilized bakugou’s injuries as best as they could under the circumstances. the urgency in their movements betrayed their anxiety over his demands, but they managed to prepare him for your arrival.
∘₊ ────── ₊ ∘ ♡︎ ∘ ₊────── ₊∘
you moved quickly through the halls of the hospital, your heart racing as you had just received word that pro hero dynamite had just been admitted, and had demanded you to be the one to help him. you had a aching feeling that it wasn't for another scape. you spotted a group of familiar faces clustered together just outside bakugou's room. kirishima, kaminari, and sero were chatting animatedly, their conversation punctuated by bursts of laughter and occasional glances toward the door which gave you a small sense of relief.
“seriously, this is just karma,” kaminari said with a thoughtful frown, peering up at the ceiling as if searching for divine answers. “he was coming to recovery girl for every little scrape, it was so obvious he was trying to get an excuse to see her.”
“yeah,” sero chimed in with a smirk, “ bet you he was milking those tiny injuries just to get a little attention from her.”
kirishima laughed, shaking his head with a rueful grin. “he probably thought if he kept getting those little nicks and bruises, he’d get a chance to talk to her more. pretty clever, but also so very unmanly.”
their laughter and commentary were a strange mix of sympathy and light-hearted teasing. you found yourself frozen in place, hiding just out of sight as you overheard their conversation. the realization hit you hard—bakugou’s frequent visits and seemingly pointless injuries had been his way of getting close to you.
swallowing hard, you took a deep breath before making your way toward bakugou's room. you quickly greeted the pro heroes offering polite nods before pushing through the door. your hands began to sweat, nerves getting the better of you as you creaked the door open.
inside, you let out a sigh of relief mixed with concern. his condition wasn't as dire as you’d feared, but it wasn’t exactly good either. instead of the usual tiny cuts and small bruises you were accustomed to, bakugou had a deep, painful-looking gash on his side. it looked serious, though you could tell he was trying to downplay it.
he turned his head slowly toward you, his eyes barely open but trying to focus. his usual fiery glare was subdued, replaced by an almost vulnerable expression. “hello, dynamite,” you greeted him gently, a playful hint in your voice despite the situation. “thought i told you to be careful.”
bakugou's lips twitched into a weak, smile. “told me not to get any small ones, think i listened pretty well,” he joked, though his voice was strained.
you gave him a small smile, but it quickly faded as you noticed his vitals starting to waver on the monitor beside him. the steady beep of the heart rate was becoming irregular, and your concern spiked.
without hesitation, you activated your quirk, letting your hand hover over the deep cut on his side. the air seemed to crackle with energy as you focused intently, channeling your power to heal the wound. bakugou watched you with growing shock, his eyes widening as the extent of your quirk became apparent.
as you worked, you kept your focus on the healing process, determined to stabilize him. his expression of surprise and awe. despite the situation, you felt a pang of satisfaction seeing the wound slowly mend under your touch.
the room was filled with the quiet hum of medical equipment and the occasional murmurs from the pro heroes outside. you could feel the weight of the room’s concern, but you pushed through, driven by the need to get bakugou patched up.
finally, after a few tense moments, the monitor’s beeping steadied and bakugou’s breathing became more even. you pulled your hand away, your energy slightly drained but relieved that the worst was over for now.
bakugou’s gaze softened as he looked at you, and despite the pain, there was something almost tender in his eyes. “thanks,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.
you offered him an awkward smile. “just doing my job.”
the two of you sat in an awkward silence, his gaze fixed on the wall in front of him while you stared at the sheets. you got up, slowly preparing to say goodbye.
“so... your quirk isn’t like recovery girl’s, huh?” bakugou blinked slowly at you, his tone a mix of curiosity and irritation.
you nodded, your expression growing more serious. “yeah, it’s not.”
bakugou’s expression hardened, his voice sharp. “why the hell didn’t you tell me?”
“didn’t think i’d have to see you again,” you admitted, frustration creeping into your voice. “and you’re not exactly the saint you pretend to be, either,” you added, your face flushing as you turned towards the window.
bakugou’s eyes widened in surprise, his face turning slightly pink. “what the hell are you talking about?”
“you kept coming to me with those tiny scratches. you never really needed my help; you just wanted an excuse to see me.”
“are you out of your damn mind?!” bakugou roared, his face flushing deeper with anger. “i was using my resources to stay in top shape, alright? nothing more, nothing less!”
“top shape—who the hell talks like that?!” now you were a dark shade of crimson, your face blazing as the argument escalated. “bakugou, just admit it already!”
“there’s nothing to admit! how about you admit you were just waiting for an excuse to kiss me, you perv?!” bakugou’s voice rose, his face now a deeper red, frustration clear in his eyes.
“what?! don’t try to twist this around on me, you little shit! you’re the one who kept stopping by for the most ridiculous reasons—half the time, i didn’t even see anything wrong!” you shot back, your anger matching his.
“and yet you still acted like you wanted to kiss me, you damn freak!” bakugou’s face was now a deep shade of red, his embarrassment and anger mixing in equal measure.
“what?! i’m not a freak! you’re the freak! you just barged into my office and pointed at your cheek. who assumes something like that? if anything, you’re the perv for thinking healers just go around kissing people!” you exclaimed, your frustration peaking.
“that shitty little short circuit said you were the new recovery girl??” bakugou snapped, his patience wearing thin.
“i am? doesn’t mean i have the same quirk,” you retorted, crossing your arms defiantly.
“well, you should’ve just said that’s not how your quirk works from the start!” bakugou growled, his tone defensive, his face still flushed.
“and you wouldn’t have blown me to bits. you were so damn confident when you just pointed at that tiny little scratch! i was just trying to protect myself!” you said, your voice rising in frustration as you turned away from him.
“oh, you’re really pushing it—” bakugou began, his anger barely contained, but he was cut off by kirishima barging into the room.
“sorry, but you’re both being unmanly right now.”
“stay out of this!” you both yelled, turning to the pro. he simply sighed and walked out, shaking his head and muttering about how things were just getting more unmanly by the minute.
there was a long pause as both of you sat in the silence, the weight of the room’s emotions settling around you. the air felt thick, charged with the intensity of the argument and the vulnerability that had emerged. bakugou’s gaze softened as he looked at you, the anger in his eyes giving way to something more introspective. his shoulders relaxed, and his voice took on a quieter, more tentative tone. “didn’t really need your help then,” he said, the words laced with an awkward honesty that caught you off guard.
“i know,” you replied taking a seat at the edge of his bed, your own embarrassment matching his. you took a deep breath, feeling the fight drain from you as the truth settled between you. the tension in the room shifted, morphing from anger to something more fragile and uncertain.
another moment of silence stretched between you, the unspoken words hanging heavy in the air.
“bakugou,” you started softly, searching for the right words. your breath caught in your throat as you looked at him. “i like you,” you confessed, the words slipping out with a mix of shyness and sincerity.
bakugou’s eyes widened slightly, a flicker of surprise crossing his features before he quickly masked it with his trademark scowl. “had a feeling,” he grumbled, his tone a blend of annoyance and something softer beneath. “took you long enough to admit it.”
before he could react further, you reached out and gave him a playful yet firm slap on the arm. your face flushed with embarrassment and frustration. “what was that for?” bakugou exclaimed, rubbing the spot where you’d hit him, his expression a mix of genuine confusion and mild irritation.
“don’t act all smug,” you shot back, your voice laced with indignation. you’d just confessed your feelings, and instead of offering a heartfelt response, the idiot in front of you had simply said he knew. it was like he didn’t even grasp the weight of what you’d said.
bakugou’s scowl faltered as he looked at you with an unusual hint of vulnerability. his gaze dropped to the floor, and a flicker of uncertainty crossed his features. it was clear he was struggling; he wasn’t used to expressing his feelings or dealing with someone else’s, and it showed.
when he finally looked back up, his expression was serious, but you noticed a rare softness in his eyes. “alright,” he said, his voice low and gruff but edged with an awkward sincerity that seemed out of character for him. “i like you too. a lot. more than i probably should.”
as you both sat there, basking in the newfound honesty between you, the tension began to melt away. bakugou let out a deep breath, and you could see the muscles in his shoulders relax. a comfortable silence settled in, and the world outside seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you enjoying each other’s company. for now, there was no need to rush or worry about what came next. you simply savored the moment, feeling a deep sense of connection and contentment.
after a few moments, bakugou shifted slightly, a small, thoughtful look crossing his face. he wasn’t sure if it was the pain meds or the weight of your confession, but he was starting to feel a bit bolder than he had been. breaking the comfortable silence, he turned to you with a raised eyebrow. “ya know,” he said, his tone carrying a hint of his usual gruffness, “i’m still in a lot of pain.” he paused, watching you, as if he was testing the waters for your reaction.
you looked at him, puzzled. “what are you getting at?”
“well, we don’t know for sure if your quirk isn’t like recovery girl’s,” he said, leaning in slightly. “ worked pretty well last time.”
you tilted your head, catching on to his subtle hint. “oh, so you’re suggesting that my quirk might work better if i used it the way recovery girl does? you know, with a bit more—” you paused for dramatic effect, “—personal touch?”
a soft smile spread across his face, his gaze locking onto yours. “something like that.”
you laughed softly, shaking your head. “well, if that’s the case, i’d better go check on your friends then. they might need some help too, after all.”
before you could move, bakugou’s hand shot out, grabbing your wrist with a firm yet gentle grip. his eyes softened slightly, a mix of playfulness and sincerity in his gaze. “hey, don’t be a smartass,” he said, pulling you closer. “just... stay here for a minute.”
your heart skipped a beat as you were drawn into his personal space. you looked up at him, your breath catching in your throat. his expression was earnest now, the playful facade giving way to something more genuine.
“bakugou?” you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper.
“yeah?” he replied, his tone softening as he leaned in slightly.
you could feel the tension between you, a mix of anticipation and uncertainty. his gaze was fixed on your lips, his intention clear even if unspoken. the moment hung in the air, charged with the possibility of a kiss.
finally, with a playful smirk, you tilted your head and teased, “i suppose if you’re still in pain, i should take care of that.”
before you could react, bakugou closed the distance between you. his lips brushed against yours in a warm, gentle kiss. it was soft and sweet, carrying a surprising tenderness that left both of you breathless. the kiss was fleeting but filled with a depth of emotion that spoke volumes. as he pulled away, his smirk was replaced by a genuine, tender look. his eyes searched yours, revealing a vulnerability that contrasted with his usual fiery demeanor.
you blinked, still processing the kiss. with a shy smile, you asked, “feel better?”
he quickly buried his face in the side of your neck, causing you to giggle. "yeah," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. you could feel him slowly start to smile against your skin, "better."

Fearless
New story that I had in my WIPS lets see if theres any interest lol.
The water from the chasm was pouring down into the abyss below, sprinkles of the coolness hitting your face as you waited. Below people were starting to stir, leaving their rooms to find their way to the small shops or cafeteria. From your spot high on the wall they looked like ants, of course you weren't supposed to be up here..
Max would scalp you if he saw you. It was a tricky climb to this little alcove, the wall was wet from the waterfall next to it. Small little holes for your hands and feet, people such as Eric never would be able to make it. Even if he could he was too scared to try. That's why it was your favorite place in all of Dauntless.
"You better get down, Girl.. You gotta get to the train." A voice called from the ledge below, when you looked down you saw the person who was like a mother too you. Her hair slicked back, tattoos on display with a soft smile on her sharp face.
Tori.
She was and is the only person who ever looked out for you. Told you that you were strong, strong enough to face the trails as an initiate. Strong enough to get your first tattoo, strong enough when you got your ears pierced. Strong enough when Max ranked you in third when you should've been in second.
She was there the day you almost died at the hands of your 'friends'. There every day of your recovery. And there even now that you were one of the strongest, still in your corner even if you didn't need her.
Little did she know you would always need her.
Slipping down the wall, you could almost hear her eyes roll as you let go off the wall. The seconds of free fall giving you the little boost you need to make it through the day. When your booted feet meet the narrow walkway that has no rails, you turn to look at your mother figure. Confirming the eye roll you figured would be happening.
Smiling widely at her as she loops her arm through yours, pulling you down the walkway. You could tell she had something to say, she always said that you were one of the few people who could read her like a book. You also knew if she was waiting then it was important and needed to be private.
That proved to be true as she pulled you into the tattoo parlor, back into her room closing and locking the door before leaning against it. You stood hands folded together in front of her, waiting for whatever it was she was going to tell you. When she opened her eyes, your heart dropped, the line of tears waiting there was something you hadn't seen in two years.
Since the day after she administered your test.. Since the day she watched you roll off the net after jumping. You stepped closer to her, using your hands to rub her arms slowly as she took a few deep breaths. "Theres another of you.. Shes almost as.... strong.. as you.."
You felt all the muscles in your body freeze, you knew what she meant by 'strong'.
Divergent.
Before you could start asking questions the speakers turned on and announced that the trains into the city would be leaving soon. Both of your heads turned back to each other, her hands grabbing you as you had her. "I told her to stay with the Stiffs.. But I have a feeling shes too much like someone else I know." She had a soft smile on her face as her hands moved to your face, cupping both of your cheeks.
"If she chooses Dauntless.. You have to protect her as I have you.. As we both have Uriah.. Promise me Y/n." Tori begged, you knew there was no way you could say no. Even though you wanted too. Protecting one Divergent along with yourself was going to be enough work, now there was someone almost as fucked up as you? And shes a stiff??
You let out the breath you didn't realize you were holding as she leaned your forehead against her own. The buzzer went off again, you knew you were going to be questioned for being late. So you pulled away opening the door as Tori moved, pausing only to turn back and look at her. She had risked so much for you, how could you tell her no?
"Ill do what I can. But I wont risk myself or Uriah for someone, Zeke is one of my best friends. Riah is like a little brother too me, but I will do what I can. I promise Mom."
~~
The entire train ride your stomach was in knots, bile heavy in your chest. Not only from not eating breakfast but from nerves. You watch Uriah talk and goof off with the other 16 year olds. You knew this was a big day for all of them, some would be coming home with you and some you would never speak too again. You couldn't help but wonder who would be going where, you remembered you own Choosing Ceremony.
The day that you left Amity behind.
Really nobody was surprised, you had never fit in there. Members of Amity are dedicated to peacefulness, kindness, forgiveness, trust, self-sufficiency, and neutrality. They are slow to anger and yet quick to forgive. None of which you are. You still held grudges from when you were five and your use to be brother ate the last pumpkin cake.
No.. Amity was not where you belonged. While you did miss the rolling fields, and the openness of having the outdoors right there. You were constantly in trouble, always being chastised and then forgiven for everything.
"Do not run through Y/n, we are all trying to meditate."
" Do not you think it would be kinder to offer the last one to someone older, maybe even younger? Be kinder Y/n."
"Dont worry young one, I forgive you for your stubbornness."
It was exhausting being there, the peacefulness and trust was all you missed. You were self-sufficient enough, part of being in Dauntless was being able to carry out orders without needing supervision. But you are quick to anger, slow to forgive and definitely biased.
The kids started yelping as the city came into view, most readying themselves to jump. It was then you noticed the two standing near the back. They looked around at there friends, the girl whos name you couldn't remember caught your eye. Her face paling before you sent her a small smile, making your way over to her.
Your voice was low, so low only she could hear you as you stood behind her. "Make the choice thats right for you. This is forever, dont think about anyone else. Just yourself. It'll be ok, I promise."
You could read the surprise on her face as you pushed her towards the door, where everyone was already jumping. A quick somersault was all you registered as you stood walking with the group towards the building. Your eyes scan the crowd like you would be able to spot the girl Tori told you about.
The Stiffs would already be in the building, walking up the stairs like the selfless people they are. 'Fuck that' You thought as you and Zeke broke from the group towards the front doors. The two of you were stationed outside, to make sure everything ran smoothly. That no one would come in and interrupt the ceremony once it started. You wanted to watch now that you knew what was happening, but it was too late.
Plus who better to work with than your best friend? The hours this would take would go by quickly by his side. The only person you would trade him for was Four, and really he wouldn't be good conversation here. You knew his father was in there, that would mean he would shut down and be rude.
He would be short and disgruntle. Which is why the last two times this had happened he stayed behind, ready to watch the first jump.
Inside you could hear them starting, "Decades ago our ancestors realized that it is not political ideology, religious belief, race, or nationalism that is to blame for a warring world. Rather, they determined that it was the fault of human personality—of humankind's inclination toward evil, in whatever form that is. They divided into factions that sought to eradicate those qualities they believed responsible for the world's disarray." Marcus started.
Your eyes rolled as you held your gun tightly, you had only heard this speech three times but it wore on your nerves. Before you could even think about how disrespectful it might be you started mocking him.
"ThOsE wHo BlAmEd AgGrEsSiOn FoRmEd AmItY."
Zeke followed directly after you, proving yet again why he was your best friend. "ThOsE wHo BlAmEd IgNoRaNcE bEcAmE tHe ErUdItE."
You both shook your head and chuckled, "Seriously, he needs to revamp his speech. Its getting old, like they dont learn about all that in school no matter the faction." Shifting from foot too foot you could feel yourself getting restless. You were good at following orders, but today something just felt off.
Zeke noticed almost immediately, you were antys. Moving around constantly, fingers tapping on the butt of your gun. Your face flush and slightly red like you were sweating. "Are you good? Because you look like your going to pass out." He said in a concerned tone, there was no judgement there like there would be with some others.
You cracked your neck, willing yourself to calm the hell down. Planting your feet and finding your stance you nodded once. "Yeah I didn't sleep well last night" ..Not a lie.. "I always get worried that I'll see my brother here and he will give me that judgy Erudite stare.. " Again not a lie.. Ok not a complete lie.
You really didn't care about any of Amity's opinions of you. The people whose feelings you cared about you could count on one hand. But for some reason the stare that your brother always gave you, even before you turned 16, always made your stomach turn. Like he knew something you didn't. Like he was disgusted by you.
Zeke shook his head "I know that's not the reason, but Ill let it go. Just know I'm always here if you need to talk." Silence fell between you two, you couldn't thank him for not pushing because that would confirm his doubts. After what felt like days the doors open and the few leaders are followed out by those who have chosen the fearless life you have.
Your eyes stay straight ahead as they all file pass you, walking behind the group where Zeke is in the middle. It isn't hard to pick out the Stiff, taking small but quick steps trying to keep up the kids who are whooping and smiling. Its always easy to pick out the transfers, of course the plain grey dress thing shes wearing helps.
Your feet move closer to her without you telling them too. Your lungs are pulling in air to speak even though your brain is telling you too shut up.. You made a promise, one that you unwilling would keep.
"Dont look at me.. Keep your eyes forward and your mouth closed. Just listen."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The blond girl next to you jumped as you spoke, clearly caught off guard. Either by you speaking to her in general or the tone that was clear even in whispers. Your grip on your weapon tightened as you tried to find the will to be reassuring like Tori was.
"Follow what the Dauntless born do. Don't hesitate when jumping on the train or you'll die." Great job y/n.. That was reassuring.."When we get to headquarters, when they ask for jumpers.. volunteer before the others. Dont ask questions, dont look for help.. Just do as I say and it will be fine.."
You didn't even look at her or give her the chance to respond before you started running. Didn't look back to see if she was running, or if she was falling behind. In no way would you allow it too look like you were helping her, because in the long run that would only make it worse. For both of you.
"What the hell is going on?" A transfer boy yells as people start passing him. You shake your head and wonder if these kids even know who they are joining. Had they ever watched the Dauntless? Did they know anything besides that the motto said?
We believe in freedom from fear, in ordinary acts of bravery, in defending those who cannot defend themselves.
Did they think that being part of this group came easily? That they would just walk into headquarters and be handed a gun and a job? Zeke was next to you jogging as the train horn sounded behind you. Jumping on and off things was one of his favorite things too do, anyone could see it in the way his face lite up.
"Oh no," mumbles the Erudite boy. "Are we supposed to hop on that thing?"
You hear the Stiff mumble "yes" and feel the tiniest bit better. Maybe she wouldn't be so bad, maybe she knew a little about what was about to happen. But it didn't mean she was prepared for the amount of lying that she was going to have to do. Dauntless begin to pile in, group by group, until only the new initiates are left. The Dauntless-born initiates are used to doing this by now, so in a second it's just faction transfers left.
You watch as they all start to panic, running next to the car you're in. You placed yourself in the last one, where all the others were in the first two. You watched them make it in one by one, the Stiff almost falling off. Had it not been from the girl from Candor she wouldn't have made it. You all watch A short Erudite boy with red hair pumps his arms as he tries to catch up to the train. An Erudite girl by the door reaches out to grab the boy's hand, straining, but he is too far behind. He falls to his knees next to the tracks as we sail away, and puts his head in his hands.
You should feel bad. Hes just failed the first test, hes now factionless. Less than thirty minutes after making his choice he has failed. But you know deep down its for the best, this is the easy part. If he couldn't make it onto the train what you and Four have planned for training would've killed him.
You listen to the Cador girl and the Abnegation girl talk, watch as she sits down and then instructs the other girl too. It is that moment you see her divergence. A true Dauntless would stay standing, be unafraid of the wind. Would find a way to show courage in the face of the speeding train and whipping wind.
This is going to be so much harder than you think, so much worse than you had planned. Thankfully Uriah was only a little divergent. His would be easy to hide, this girl.. Beatrice.. She would cause problems, problems you had already promised to try and solve.
"I guess we are going to Dauntless headquarters," She says after the other girl Christina speaks, "but I don't know where that is."
"Does anyone?" Christina shakes her head, grinning. "It's like they just popped out of a hole in the ground or something." You chuckle and cross your arms, pulling their attention towards you but you just keep looking out the train doors. If only they knew, you kinda do pop out of holes.
Then the wind rushes through the car, and the other faction transfers, hit with bursts of air, falling on top of one another. You pinch the bridge of your nose, sighing through it. "Pathetic" You say loud enough for them all to hear, Christina scoffs along with the tall boy from Candor. The rest smartly stay quiet, Beatrice's eyes falling on you silently.
"Arent you supposed to be like.. guiding us or something?" He says from his place on the floor, it's your turn to scoff. Turning back to the door grabbing the railing and leaning out, you hear the transfers gasp assuming you're going to fall. Like you haven't done this a million times, none of them know if you're a transfer or not. Younger kids don't go to the ceremony, they would have no idea if you were Dauntless born or not.
In the cars ahead you could see those your age looking back at you. Zeke, Eric and Shauna all smiling knowing what was coming next. The roof came into view as you all pulled back into the cars, you could hear the Dauntless born whooping again. Turning back to the transfers you smiled, before locking eyes with Beatrice. They were all standing now, frantically talking amongst themselves about jumping.
"Good luck" was all you said before running and throwing yourself from the train.
Never dim your light to make others comfortable when it comes to confidence and being yourself you gotta be unapologetic about it!! you focus should never be on other people and how they perceive you , that literally none of your business and that’s literally a waste of time and draining your own happiness So where that dress,style your hair this way,showcase your true self and fuck how other people feel that a THEM Problem not Yours!!
What i like 2 do it is keep set of daily affirmations i repeat when i wake up & throughout the day and i like to put them all around my space like put sticky notes of mirrors,keep pinterest boards of affirmations,repeat then while getting ready,making a self concept playlist full of songs that make me feel my best etc.!! (P.S Affirmations tapes are TOP TIER)
. . . DYK?
The kinds of media you consumer can sometimes affect your over all mood,self image & mentality so be mindful of the media you consume when it comes to any form of media !!
₊˚ 🍋🟩✩5 ; Body Language!! ୭₊˚
SUPER IMPORTANT!! wether you’re in an active conversation or just walking down the street body language will play a huge role in not only how you feel but will also help you be confident & have people be more attracted to your energy
so what were gonna do is swap all of the awkward body language and swap them out!
Tense Shoulders > Drop & relax your shoulders and put them back
Looking down when walking > Hold your head up head
Slouching > Stop slouching and Keep your make straight
When you wave don’t shake your palm > use your 3 fingers in the middle to wave in an half way down and up motion
Sit in the Duchess Pose basically it putting both of your legs together and slant them 2 the right diagonally !!
STRUT YOUR STUFF!! I can’t stress this enough a good runway strut is always on your side i promise you this!! you gotta act like your a famous super model like naomi,shalom,yasmeen,linda etc. you gotta act like your opening for a runway or something and just be FABULOUS!!
₊˚ 🏩 ✩6 ; Embarrassment !! ୭₊˚
I Fully believe embarrassment is a SOCIAL CONSTRUCT like people who are consider “embarrassing” are literally just being themselves and when people see a person being themself they can’t handle and feel this dire urge to “humble” them and
An example of this comes from one of my favorite movies Legally Blonde!! when elle first stepped foot on Harvard campus people were automatically on her tail for just being herself and what did she do?? NOTHING. and thats exactly what you gotta do view their opinion as INVALID and keep doing you!
“Out of Sight Out of Mind”
Hey! You made it to pile 2 Lucky You!
.˚ ᡣ𐭩 Cutting People Off .𖥔˚ 🐬
SPOILER ALERT!! The people you surround yourself with can definitely play a role in how you perceive yourself,your individual opinions,how you think & behavioral action due to peer pressure, sometimes toxic people can seep into your social circle and you might no even notice it
Signs You need to cut someone off!
- never supporting you
- repeating the same toxic behavior
- never being happy for you
- copying everything you do
- never fully apologizing
- trying to bring you down for literally anything
- talking behind your back
- trying to leave you out
- is hypocritical towards you
- is in competition with you
⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 Opinions! .𖥔˚ 👙
Again like i said people opinions on you is not a you problem its a them problem especially if it’s a negative opinion it doesn’t matter you don’t need to explain yourself to anyone especially not someone who won’t even take the time to know you before making up stupid assumptions! and you sure al hell don’t need to change to fit in with anyone , you were meant to stand put and thats okay
“No Problem i don’t care You’re you I’m me” - Jang Wonyoung
⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 Being Desperate.𖥔˚ 🪸
OH GIRL!! Being desperate is embarrassing for you especially if it’s over someone you have romantic interest in unt unt that simply won’t fly with me! if they’re ghosting you,being inconsistent,telling you one thing but acting another way etc. don’t be desperate for someone like that you deserve someone better! people like this probably don’t care and its silly of you to be desperate for their attention & you’re far too special for that
⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 Boundaries .𖥔˚ 🛍️
Always have boundaries and never let anyone over step them, if you set a boundaries in a friendship and they keep crossing that boundaries they don’t care about your boundaries don’t let someone continue to disrespect you & your boundaries
HOT TIP . . .
Don’t laugh at jokes that are at your expense
If someone is trying to embarrass you be upfront with them and tell them how you feel
⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 Compete with yourself .𖥔˚ 🌤️
See yourself as your only competition always try to out do yourself not matter what in any category even if its doing something productive one day to have a better day than you did yesterday i adapt this mindset with my blog and my self improvement i need to out do myself all the time im the only person i need to compete with!!
Battle of the Blixers - Finale Results
“Welcome to the final post of the Battle of the Blixers! I’m your host Step, and it was a very fun and intense competition thus far!”
“It was very fun seeing every submission, as well as how the contest played out! I will definitely miss doing this.
“But that aside, the end is now upon us, and with that, let’s see who won this entire thing!”
PLACEMENT POINTS
“So first off, we have the placement points! These points will be awarded to the competitors based on their placement on the podium at the end of C5!”
“And here they are!”
“Welp, it’s how it always was! Blixter & Eclipses in the top two, with everyone else fighting for 3rd, in this case, the other Blixter!” “In any case, let’s head to Category 2!”
ABSTRUSE DECIPHER POINTS
“This is the prize for guessing the song correctly!”
“Blixer Eclipses got the song correctly, so he’s getting 3 extra points!”
AUDIENCE VOTE
“Now, we have the audience vote! We already saw the outcome, with Blixter winning over the audience yet again! Let’s award everyone’s points now!”
JURY VOTE
“Now for the jury vote! The way this works is that the jury lists the entries from 1-3, their least favorite being 1 and most favorite being 3. Afterwards, I tally up the results and get the final number!”
“Before I reveal the points though, here’s a statement from the one and only Blixer Kunzite! literally hes the only one that voted during the voting period”
JSABAddict’s submission:
“What a very interesting fight! Didn’t expect such a…brute, to have skillful moves like that. I’d say this one caught my eye, sad that they weren’t able to kill their opponent but, oh well! As for the ‘begging’, as you put it, poor reasons. I believe them when they said they joined for fun and thrill but, c’mon! What about the glory and respect you would get from winning!? Ah, apologies for the yelling. Now then, I’d say they’re in between, not the worst nor the best.”
Zim-card’s submission:
“Quite an interesting yet odd ending, in my own opinion..but nonetheless, I think they did well! But..a bit disappointed AGAIN by the fact that another square wasn’t at least damaged, MORE disappointed it ended off in good terms. The reasons for winning are well put, I have been watching from afar how they had been handling every challenge well— expect for the cooking one. I’d say this is also in between! I’ll..have to think how I’ll rank these..”
Starwlf’s submission:
“As for this one..I LOVE IT! The fact that you managed to actually defeat the player while also giving good reasons! The first time being apart of this to gain some sort of ego boost through this and showing your strength! Wonderful! Very solid reasons, along with skillful moves— other than the fact they did managed to get hurt in the face, but they proved themselves worthy, to me.”
“Well that’s that! Can’t believe nobody else was available during voting… anyways… Here’s the results!”
COMPETITOR VOTE
“And now, here’s the competitor vote, where each of the competitors voted on each other!”
“Here’s what they each have to say!”
starwlf Blixter (told thru starwlf’s perspective):
My point goes to zim’s submission. Blixter enjoys watching a good fight. And man was it delivered. And seeing such a shift to a kinder tone gave him a reminder of his own loved one. A fight against a narrative is all too familiar for him.
Blixer Eclipses:
Probably starwlf (cause in the end zim's gonna win regardless so I figured to like. barely even it out, I dunno)
zim-card Blixter:
“I gotta send a vote to starwlf. I like his determination and confidence, I can understand his stance within this whole challenge as someone new to the ring. I also find it sweet that he's willing to split the prize when he wins... I'd do the same too, honestly. Sure, I'm off put at the successful murder so hm... ah, I can't exactly be the judge of morals when the challenge did ask for a duel. My vote still stands for the fella!”
“So we got 2 votes for starwlf’s Blixter, and a vote for zim’s Blixter! Let’s convert them to points!”
STEP’S EXTRA CREDIT
“Now it’s MY turn to judge!”
“For starwlf’s Blixter, I love the intensity! And actually succeeding in defeating, good job!”
“For Blixer Eclipses, although not much hits were dealt, you put up a good fight with that amazing dodging skills! I also find it pretty funny that he kept dodging the blasts when it’s usually the other way around… heh.”
“For zim-card’s Blixter, the fight was pretty cool! But at the same time you somehow made up with your Cyan and uhhhhhhhh”
“sorry youre going below the others”
“Anyways, let’s get to the points I’m giving out!”
“And the winner of the Battle of the Blixers is……”
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
!!!BLIXTER!!!
Total Points:
@zim-card : 30
@jsabaddict : 29
@starwlf : 27
“Congratulations for winning, now here are your prizes!”
“Yeah, I figured that the runner-ups should receive consolation prizes, so me and Pulse just scrambled around the ‘tower’ and found these.”
“Anyways, that’s it!”
“Like I said, it was amazing holding this competition, and I hope me and everyone else had a fun time with it! Now we’re done, so so long! For the last time…
My name is Step, and this has been the Battle of the Blixers! Until then, see you!”
.
.
.
.
“So what now?”
“To be honest I have no clue. Probably gonna sleep and also watch these other universes I found. Speaking of, there’s this one cool universe I found, their Barracuda is a snake man who is extreme evil, and last I checked the you and me in it were working together!”
“Okay.”
“Oh, and their Lycanthropy was my brother? I think? Was it blood or found? I don’t remember.”
“Speaking of, I gazed into the Black Room again. I think I saw someone, but it might’ve just been me. Looked a lot like your descriptions of th……..
The two continued their talk, which if I will fill this ending segment with, Tumblr might actually crash lmfao
Anyways, sorry the ending post took so long, i suddenly got a small internship somewhere so it was a bit busy
Other than that, fun contest, yeah? It was really fun hosting it for me!! But if it wasnt fun for any of the competitors, i am genuinely really sorry and i wanna make it up to you if i can
Idk if ill do another contest, but if i will then idk when lol
I have an idea for this tho, maybe a talk-show like thing where step interviews jsab fancharacters?
BotB is gonna be my main au now cuz i gotten extremely attached to the botb gang (which is canonically only step & pulse, but the others are gonna join in if i introduce them in botb lore lol)
Sorry H*I & main au, i dont wanna play with you anymore /ref
Anyways have a good day!!!! Nyazhi out!!!!
my fix it one piece headcannons
(besides hot gay sex, proper skin tones ((this is also in the fix it)))
-sanji gets trapped on a rock for his timeskip- this is how he learns to skywalk and ends up on kambaka
just imagine one of the main horrible things that has ever happened to him and he’s back. how long is he going to have to wait? he’s stuck for how long? no. not this time. he spends almost a month there until he sky walks to the island
he doesn’t even have time to complain or whine about the people and the front he would put on. he’s safe and that’s what matters. they take care of him and he comes to have a depose understanding and appreciation for them
he wears the clothes because he doesn’t have anything else- but he learns how to sew and makes the best dresses and outfits later on
- ussop is actually the most comfortable out of everyone with his sexuality. he has THE RIZZ he picks up anyone and everyone just being his cute flirty self
- post skip (and i’ve mentioned this before) sanji, chopped and ussop all working together one meals, and medicine!
ussop island and knowledge of plants- he brings back and is able to grow medicinal herbs, cooking herbs ect ect
sanji has left over parts to his food that can’t be cooked so he learns how to turn them into herbs, soaps, practical things
- franky only upgraded his body again because it was failing him post skip. he got by in his city after the accident- but continuing in his form with all the battles, the straw hats get into only weared down what he had for a body
- robin and sanji would absolutely have met at some point during the timeskip. iva being a top leader in the revolutionary army? hell yeah.
i imagine that robin is also the first one to know about germa and sanjis connection he would have told her. they confide in each other about how they have a similar upbringing
- i also imagine germa being on the revolutionary army’s radar for their experiments, and how this could tie into ceaser earlier that the kid experiment was actually another way for judge to test things out
it just would have made more sense to bring it up earlier/ that doffy had a connection to judge too being a ex world noble teaming up with a next higher power that has a lot of pull and rank and aligns with his ideals
- look i have a lot of beef w sanji because he’s my blorbo but i would have loved if they actually included some lead up more to his tragic backstory pt2
LIKE THE EYEBROW SWIRL only the vinsmokes have this!! how tf didnt law notice this being a goddamn fanboy
- chopper shedding- he grows fur like a sheep and you gotta shave him
i just was ussop to make beds and coats from the fur
- sanji making special meals that have stat boosts like how chopper does a rumble ball they could work on something similar esp since luffy dries up like a raisin
pt 1/?
so considering arlecchino beat our ass 😻 (not complaining) and said we weren't strong enough for her, I'm just thinking about when the traveller will get a power boost because he kind of has to get one someday ?? i mean, we beat up childe and signora in a 1v1 (not counting scara because it wasn't 1v1) so you could say we are currently over harbinger 8 in terms of strength BUT LIKE natlan will obviously have capitano and there's no way we can fight that guy HAHAHAHA so in order to keep up with the future power levels of some of those antagonists, we gotta get a boost one day, right?
but then again harbingers aren't necessarily ranked by strength alone but the top three are said to be as strong as archons, and arlecchino isn't even in the top three but still beat us up, I mean yeah she's fourth but I don't think even she compares to the top three strength wise.
also like scaramouche was the sixth, and we haven't beat him alone, we beat him due to nahida and sandrone is the seventh, if we were able to beat signora we might be able to beat her and pantalone is number nine but i mean, I COULD BEAT HIS ASS NO QUESTION
HI ITS GLOBE ANON...SHINONOMES AHHHH (apologies for dying lol kind of wanted to get more art sided stuff done (i didnt))
shinonomes: distant
-basically, it was around middle school ena time when akito had that little line between "real" and "fake" start to blur
-ena knew he hated soccer but couldn't bring herself to say it to him. felt really guilty about it because after a while, she couldn't even look him in the eyes
-mental state was already pretty bad because of this, and then she got "the talk" from her teacher and then her dad confronted her too. she ended up throwing her art supplies out
-akito found out why she was having such a hard time, but he was already so deep into the spiral that the only thing he could do was avoid her
-they ended up just falling apart. they're so distant that they don't see each other at all. no phone numbers, just occasional notes on a counter. no birthday gifts
-can you tell they are my favourites (they are the ones on my display profile....hhhh)
summer festival, rekindled flames - post 1st anni
character boost: ena (focus), haruka, airi, akito, stage miku
-SUMMER FESTIVAL HAHAHA. pretty sure ena is not gonna have a good time. fashion and all
- ena didn't call akito to get her more comfortable shoes this time, who knew if she did what would happen next
-stage miku canonically likes food, like alot, so she is looking around with ena and admiring food
-airi and haruka meet in this one :D airi is preforming a small stand-up play, haruka is preforming a solo show
-akito simply admires the shows. ena sees him once and freaks out
-some enairi (platonic??) bonding maybe. a little bit of shinonome sibling backstory reveal
animal care? kamiyama clubfest! - post 2nd anni
character boost: rui (focus), akito, ena, nene, theater len
-literally what it sounds like i mean. reads i. mean text. i mean looks like i mea
-kamiyama is having a lil festival where clubs hold a lil stand for people to try out something related to the club so people join!!!
-since this is pre-3rd anni, the list goes like this
akito "helps out at various sports clubs"
ena doesn't have one. you gotta be kidding me
nene has film
rui has greening (for anyone who doesn't know, its like making more environmentally friendly stuff)
-rui gets kicked out of hosting the stand (everyone fears he will do something funny) and decides to look around
-animal care happens. seperate timing but this is probably where we learn akito's cynophobia
-meets ena (wanted to look around), akito, and nene seperately. theater len almost gets caught in open looking at a short film but nene gets him to hide right before akito pops up
-silly event, with some sibling mentions
blurry snapshots from that yesteryear - pre 4th anni
character boost: akito (focus), ena, an, minori, city MEIKO
-i love the word yesteryear. it doesn't even make sense (according to the oxford dictionary) in this occasion but i had to use it at some point ok
-akito goes to weekend garage and meets minori and an. minori mentions there being a live concert for stage○•showtime (yapping about how cool shizuku is)
-thinks huh. maybe i should go watch
-thinks for a bit too long in front of the two. an knows its normal behaviour and minori freaks out, talks to city MEIKO
-MEIKO says to keep an eye on him. if its that worrying
-day of preformance. minori fangirling and akito *DROPS FULL SHINONOMES FLASHBACK*
-ena spots him. oh no!!! gotta scram
-event story ends with ena coming home and her spotting a lil gift on the counter. she smiles a bit at it
sibling trust ranks are next + the asks in that one ask from a long time ago (sorry again. school sucks but there is a break soon so more content hopefully)
AAÀAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA have a great day mod!
Other Divergent
The water from the chasm was pouring down into the abyss below, sprinkles of the coolness hitting your face as you waited. Below people were starting to stir, leaving their rooms to find their way to the small shops or cafeteria. From your spot high on the wall they looked like ants, of course you weren't supposed to be up here..
Max would scalp you if he saw you. It was a tricky climb to this little alcove, the wall was wet from the waterfall next to it. Small little holes for your hands and feet, people such as Eric never would be able to make it. Even if he could he was too scared to try. That's why it was your favorite place in all of Dauntless.
"You better get down, Girl.. You gotta get to the train." A voice called from the ledge below, when you looked down you saw the person who was like a mother too you. Her hair slicked back, tattoos on display with a soft smile on her sharp face.
Tori.
She was and is the only person who ever looked out for you. Told you that you were strong, strong enough to face the trails as an initiate. Strong enough to get your first tattoo, strong enough when you got your ears pierced. Strong enough when Max ranked you in third when you should've been in second.
She was there the day you almost died at the hands of your 'friends'. There every day of your recovery. And there even now that you were one of the strongest, still in your corner even if you didn't need her.
Little did she know you would always need her.
Slipping down the wall, you could almost hear her eyes roll as you let go off the wall. The seconds of free fall giving you the little boost you need to make it through the day. When your booted feet meet the narrow walkway that has no rails, you turn to look at your mother figure. Confirming the eye roll you figured would be happening.
Smiling widely at her as she loops her arm through yours, pulling you down the walkway. You could tell she had something to say, she always said that you were one of the few people who could read her like a book. You also knew if she was waiting then it was important and needed to be private.
That proved to be true as she pulled you into the tattoo parlor, back into her room closing and locking the door before leaning against it. You stood hands folded together in front of her, waiting for whatever it was she was going to tell you. When she opened her eyes, your heart dropped, the line of tears waiting there was something you hadn't seen in two years.
Since the day after she administered your test.. Since the day she watched you roll off the net after jumping. You stepped closer to her, using your hands to rub her arms slowly as she took a few deep breaths. "Theres another of you.. Shes almost as.... strong.. as you.."
You felt all the muscles in your body freeze, you knew what she meant by 'strong'.
Divergent.
Before you could start asking questions the speakers turned on and announced that the trains into the city would be leaving soon. Both of your heads turned back to each other, her hands grabbing you as you had her. "I told her to stay with the Stiffs.. But I have a feeling shes too much like someone else I know." She had a soft smile on her face as her hands moved to your face, cupping both of your cheeks.
"If she chooses Dauntless.. You have to protect her as I have you.. As we both have Uriah.. Promise me Y/n." Tori begged, you knew there was no way you could say no. Even though you wanted too. Protecting one Divergent along with yourself was going to be enough work, now there was someone almost as fucked up as you? And shes a stiff??
You let out the breath you didn't realize you were holding as she leaned your forehead against her own. The buzzer went off again, you knew you were going to be questioned for being late. So you pulled away opening the door as Tori moved, pausing only to turn back and look at her. She had risked so much for you, how could you tell her no?
"Ill do what I can. But I wont risk myself or Uriah for someone, Zeke is one of my best friends. Riah is like a little brother too me, but I will do what I can. I promise Mom."
~~
The entire train ride your stomach was in knots, bile heavy in your chest. Not only from not eating breakfast but from nerves. You watch Uriah talk and goof off with the other 16 year olds. You knew this was a big day for all of them, some would be coming home with you and some you would never speak too again. You couldn't help but wonder who would be going where, you remembered you own Choosing Ceremony.
The day that you left Amity behind.
Really nobody was surprised, you had never fit in there. Members of Amity are dedicated to peacefulness, kindness, forgiveness, trust, self-sufficiency, and neutrality. They are slow to anger and yet quick to forgive. None of which you are. You still held grudges from when you were five and your use to be brother ate the last pumpkin cake.
No.. Amity was not where you belonged. While you did miss the rolling fields, and the openness of having the outdoors right there. You were constantly in trouble, always being chastised and then forgiven for everything.
"Do not run through Y/n, we are all trying to meditate."
" Do not you think it would be kinder to offer the last one to someone older, maybe even younger? Be kinder Y/n."
"Dont worry young one, I forgive you for your stubbornness."
It was exhausting being there, the peacefulness and trust was all you missed. You were self-sufficient enough, part of being in Dauntless was being able to carry out orders without needing supervision. But you are quick to anger, slow to forgive and definitely biased.
The kids started yelping as the city came into view, most readying themselves to jump. It was then you noticed the two standing near the back. They looked around at there friends, the girl whos name you couldn't remember caught your eye. Her face paling before you sent her a small smile, making your way over to her.
Your voice was low, so low only she could hear you as you stood behind her. "Make the choice thats right for you. This is forever, dont think about anyone else. Just yourself. It'll be ok, I promise."
You could read the surprise on her face as you pushed her towards the door, where everyone was already jumping. A quick somersault was all you registered as you stood walking with the group towards the building. Your eyes scan the crowd like you would be able to spot the girl Tori told you about.
The Stiffs would already be in the building, walking up the stairs like the selfless people they are. 'Fuck that' You thought as you and Zeke broke from the group towards the front doors. The two of you were stationed outside, to make sure everything ran smoothly. That no one would come in and interrupt the ceremony once it started. You wanted to watch now that you knew what was happening, but it was too late.
Plus who better to work with than your best friend? The hours this would take would go by quickly by his side. The only person you would trade him for was Four, and really he wouldn't be good conversation here. You knew his father was in there, that would mean he would shut down and be rude.
He would be short and disgruntle. Which is why the last two times this had happened he stayed behind, ready to watch the first jump.
Inside you could hear them starting, "Decades ago our ancestors realized that it is not political ideology, religious belief, race, or nationalism that is to blame for a warring world. Rather, they determined that it was the fault of human personality—of humankind's inclination toward evil, in whatever form that is. They divided into factions that sought to eradicate those qualities they believed responsible for the world's disarray." Marcus started.
Your eyes rolled as you held your gun tightly, you had only heard this speech three times but it wore on your nerves. Before you could even think about how disrespectful it might be you started mocking him.
"ThOsE wHo BlAmEd AgGrEsSiOn FoRmEd AmItY."
Zeke followed directly after you, proving yet again why he was your best friend. "ThOsE wHo BlAmEd IgNoRaNcE bEcAmE tHe ErUdItE."
You both shook your head and chuckled, "Seriously, he needs to revamp his speech. Its getting old, like they dont learn about all that in school no matter the faction." Shifting from foot too foot you could feel yourself getting restless. You were good at following orders, but today something just felt off.
Zeke noticed almost immediately, you were antys. Moving around constantly, fingers tapping on the butt of your gun. Your face flush and slightly red like you were sweating. "Are you good? Because you look like your going to pass out." He said in a concerned tone, there was no judgement there like there would be with some others.
You cracked your neck, willing yourself to calm the hell down. Planting your feet and finding your stance you nodded once. "Yeah I didn't sleep well last night" ..Not a lie.. "I always get worried that I'll see my brother here and he will give me that judgy Erudite stare.. " Again not a lie.. Ok not a complete lie.
You really didn't care about any of Amity's opinions of you. The people whose feelings you cared about you could count on one hand. But for some reason the stare that your brother always gave you, even before you turned 16, always made your stomach turn. Like he knew something you didn't. Like he was disgusted by you.
Zeke shook his head "I know that's not the reason, but Ill let it go. Just know I'm always here if you need to talk." Silence fell between you two, you couldn't thank him for not pushing because that would confirm his doubts. After what felt like days the doors open and the few leaders are followed out by those who have chosen the fearless life you have.
Your eyes stay straight ahead as they all file pass you, walking behind the group where Zeke is in the middle. It isn't hard to pick out the Stiff, taking small but quick steps trying to keep up the kids who are whooping and smiling. Its always easy to pick out the transfers, of course the plain grey dress thing shes wearing helps.
Your feet move closer to her without you telling them too. Your lungs are pulling in air to speak even though your brain is telling you too shut up.. You made a promise, one that you unwilling would keep.
"Dont look at me.. Keep your eyes forward and your mouth closed. Just listen."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The blond girl next to you jumped as you spoke, clearly caught off guard. Either by you speaking to her in general or the tone that was clear even in whispers. Your grip on your weapon tightened as you tried to find the will to be reassuring like Tori was.
"Follow what the Dauntless born do. Don't hesitate when jumping on the train or you'll die." Great job y/n.. That was reassuring.."When we get to headquarters, when they ask for jumpers.. volunteer before the others. Dont ask questions, dont look for help.. Just do as I say and it will be fine.."
You didn't even look at her or give her the chance to respond before you started running. Didn't look back to see if she was running, or if she was falling behind. In no way would you allow it too look like you were helping her, because in the long run that would only make it worse. For both of you.
"What the hell is going on?" A transfer boy yells as people start passing him. You shake your head and wonder if these kids even know who they are joining. Had they ever watched the Dauntless? Did they know anything besides that the motto said?
We believe in freedom from fear, in ordinary acts of bravery, in defending those who cannot defend themselves.
Did they think that being part of this group came easily? That they would just walk into headquarters and be handed a gun and a job? Zeke was next to you jogging as the train horn sounded behind you. Jumping on and off things was one of his favorite things too do, anyone could see it in the way his face lite up.
"Oh no," mumbles the Erudite boy. "Are we supposed to hop on that thing?"
You hear the Stiff mumble "yes" and feel the tiniest bit better. Maybe she wouldn't be so bad, maybe she knew a little about what was about to happen. But it didn't mean she was prepared for the amount of lying that she was going to have to do. Dauntless begin to pile in, group by group, until only the new initiates are left. The Dauntless-born initiates are used to doing this by now, so in a second it's just faction transfers left.
You watch as they all start to panic, running next to the car you're in. You placed yourself in the last one, where all the others were in the first two. You watched them make it in one by one, the Stiff almost falling off. Had it not been from the girl from Candor she wouldn't have made it. You all watch A short Erudite boy with red hair pumps his arms as he tries to catch up to the train. An Erudite girl by the door reaches out to grab the boy's hand, straining, but he is too far behind. He falls to his knees next to the tracks as we sail away, and puts his head in his hands.
You should feel bad. Hes just failed the first test, hes now factionless. Less than thirty minutes after making his choice he has failed. But you know deep down its for the best, this is the easy part. If he couldn't make it onto the train what you and Four have planned for training would've killed him.
You listen to the Cador girl and the Abnegation girl talk, watch as she sits down and then instructs the other girl too. It is that moment you see her divergence. A true Dauntless would stay standing, be unafraid of the wind. Would find a way to show courage in the face of the speeding train and whipping wind.
This is going to be so much harder than you think, so much worse than you had planned. Thankfully Uriah was only a little divergent. His would be easy to hide, this girl.. Beatrice.. She would cause problems, problems you had already promised to try and solve.
"I guess we are going to Dauntless headquarters," She says after the other girl Christina speaks, "but I don't know where that is."
"Does anyone?" Christina shakes her head, grinning. "It's like they just popped out of a hole in the ground or something." You chuckle and cross your arms, pulling their attention towards you but you just keep looking out the train doors. If only they knew, you kinda do pop out of holes.
Then the wind rushes through the car, and the other faction transfers, hit with bursts of air, falling on top of one another. You pinch the bridge of your nose, sighing through it. "Pathetic" You say loud enough for them all to hear, Christina scoffs along with the tall boy from Candor. The rest smartly stay quiet, Beatrice's eyes falling on you silently.
"Arent you supposed to be like.. guiding us or something?" He says from his place on the floor, it's your turn to scoff. Turning back to the door grabbing the railing and leaning out, you hear the transfers gasp assuming you're going to fall. Like you haven't done this a million times, none of them know if you're a transfer or not. Younger kids don't go to the ceremony, they would have no idea if you were Dauntless born or not.
In the cars ahead you could see those your age looking back at you. Zeke, Eric and Shauna all smiling knowing what was coming next. The roof came into view as you all pulled back into the cars, you could hear the Dauntless born whooping again. Turning back to the transfers you smiled, before locking eyes with Beatrice. They were all standing now, frantically talking amongst themselves about jumping.
"Good luck" was all you said before running and throwing yourself from the train.

Help!
I pulled a new wish for Sylus out of the pool just now, and ranking it up boosted my level to unlocking his workout, and this is the first thing he says...
Why you gotta threaten me like that??

Iceberg Siren pt 4
The first thing Danny did after Jason stepped aside to let him in was point at Jason’s chest.
“Eeeeey, chest scar buddies!”
Jason looked down at his scars, and then back up again at Danny, whose eyes had traveled farther down, noticing the slowly bleeding wound on Jason’s side.
“Oh! Damn, that’s gotta sting. Do you want some help with that?”
Which is how Jason found himself in the bathroom with Danny chattering away on his knees in front of him, in a vastly different context with how Jason would prefer Danny on his knees.
Bad brain.
“And really, you can’t keep running around with that corrupted ectoplasm in you- it’s stunting your growth! Should I pull it out?”
Jason looked down, straight into Danny’s wide, hopeful eyes. Taken by a sudden fit of brain fog, he shrugged, despite the fact that the other man was stitching his side closed.
“Sure, I guess?”
Danny smiled, big and brilliant, before tying off the last of the stitches.
“Great! Let me-” he hopped up, guiding Jason down to sit on the edge of the tub. “This shouldn’t hurt much, but fair warning, I’ve never done this before.”
Jason nodded dumbly as Danny pulled off his bloody gloves and discarded them before lifting one of Jason’s wrists to his face.
He couldn’t help the goosebumps that prickled his skin as he felt Danny’s warm breath ghost across his pulse point, nor could he help jumping as Danny sunk his teeth into that self-same pulse point.
Something in him kept him from yanking his arm away, something hungry and longing for freedom.
Danny pulled away after a few moments, wiping something dark from his lips with the back of the hand not holding Jason’s arm. Jason was pretty shocked to notice the blue eyes that endeared him so much were, for a few seconds, a toxic Lazarus green.
And then the blue was back and Danny was sticking out his tongue with a grimace.
“That was rank, Red. You should find a better source.”
Jason felt dizzy, and in his last moments of clarity, watched Danny’s face morph into one of panic before the darkness overtook him.
~~~
Danny fluttered nervously around Red Hood as the man groaned awake- he’d managed to catch him as he slumped forward and carry the man to the couch, but other than that, he wasn’t entirely sure what to do.
Red wasn’t dead, at least, not completely. It was like he started forming a core and just stopped halfway through. Probably due to the corruption in the ectoplasm that helped him form a core.
“What hit me?”
Danny chuckled thinly and helped Hood sit up.
“Uh, me? Technically? I didn’t realize you needed an extra boost of clean ecto when I took out the bad stuff, but congratulations, you’re now a- whatever the hell I am, I guess. There was never a consensus on the naming.”
The other man looked at him sharply.
“I don’t have the meta gene.”
“No, no, it’s not about being a meta, I just picked up the term when I got here. I don’t think you’ll have powers quite as extensive as mine, your introduction to ectoplasm was a lot different, but we’ll have to see.”
He was trying very hard not to word-vomit, but Hood looking at him with those pretty cobalt eyes and that sharp-jawed face just made his brain buzz like thousands of spectral bees.
“Aliens?”
“No, although I’d love to meet one! More like-” Danny paused, parsing through his own words before he said them. “Glorified lab accidents? Or, not really, in your case, but essentially.”
He realized that didn’t really sound better, but it seemed to make sense to Hood, who sat brooding on the couch. Was he supposed to call him Jason now, since they’d met out of masks?
Without thinking about it, he chirped an inquiring noise to get the other man’s attention.
“Please don’t tell me we’re part cricket.”
Danny laughed, less nervous since Jason was apparently joking around with him now.
“No, just prone to vocalizations. Can I call you Jason?”
“Sure, Cricket.”
~~~
Clockwork smiled as the last few pieces to his plan fell in to place- Princess Danielle was starting on a new adventure, and their young King had finally found a reason to live after the torture inflicted upon him by his parents.
All of the Infinite Realms had noted that the king was unhappy, trapped in the land of the dead with no haunt or home- several of them had come to Clockwork, and together they had devised a plan.
A dimension familiar enough for Phantom to slip in unnoticed, but removed enough to not need his particular brand of heroism.
A dimension that was doomed without intervention from someone far more powerful than their eyes had ever seen.
Danny might not notice, but his very presence was protection for this dimension, sating his Obsession without endangering what was left of his life- Clockwork had to work hard to find this place. A place with enough factors leading toward the emergence of a strong and confident King, not held back by the sins of his genetic donors.
Clockwork would call himself Danny’s parent before he would refer to the Fentons as such.
~~~
Dick knew this was the place. Well, he knew it was the Iceberg Lounge, that was a no-brainer, but he also knew that this is where Jason’s mystery friend worked.
They hadn’t managed to figure out what the target did here, but Robbie Malone was about to find out.
He strode in, all quiet confidence, nodding at the bouncers as he made his way to the VIP lounge. The Malone family had a table near the balcony, with perfect sightlines to the door and the stage below. Stephanie was already there, dressed to the nines.
“Cousin! I didn’t know you were coming!” Dick leaned down to kiss Steph on both cheeks, as dictated the Malone family cover.
“The next act is supposed to be on soon- I hear the singer is divine.”
Sitting down elegantly, Dick signaled a waiter for a drink, and then turned to look down on the stage. A willowy blond woman was finishing her song and bowing to the crowd. There was a polite round of applause- until the young woman left and the next singer appeared.
The applause was thunderous throughout the lounge. The young man on the stage held up a hand, and the applause stopped instantly.
He chuckled with a deep voice, and leaned close to the mic.
“You all like my dress that much?”
Dick would admit it was a lovely dress, a dark blue flapper style dress with an unusual plunging neckline.
Stephanie kicked him under the table, tilting her head down towards the singer. Ah, so he was the target.
The music started, and moments later the singing did, too. A smooth baritone voice, crooning out a song. Deciding to listen to the lyrics instead of chat with Steph, he was quite shocked at the contents of the song.
It was a beautiful song, but it spoke of heartbreak and betrayal, longing and fear.
It made Dick sad for the person who wrote it. By the end, the club had long gone silent, entranced by the song. Some patrons were surreptitiously wiping their eyes on their napkins.
Dick turned back to Steph, who was watching the singer with sharp eyes.
“Cousin?”
Steph glanced up at him, none of her cover’s light in her eyes.
“He’s got bad scars on his chest. You can see them under his dress when he leans forward from this angle.”
He looked, and sure enough, there was the tell-tale puckering of skin, right underneath the line of the dress. It would take a trained eye to notice it, but Dick and Steph were nothing but trained eyes.
Danny Nightingale, Singer at the Iceberg Lounge, was more than he seemed.
~~~
Damian noticed that Jason had a bandage on his wrist first. Of course he was first to notice, he was the only blood son.
“What incompetence caused that, Todd?”
Jason, instead of getting angry, just looked down at his wrist and shrugged.
“Vampire cricket.”
“I beg your pardon?”
He knew it was the wrong thing to say as soon as he said it. Todd tended to be quick to anger, and being questioned would probably set him off. Much to Damian’s surprise, however, Todd’s eyes lit up with mischief.
“Then beg, Demon Brat.”
Damian would have attacked Todd if Father hadn’t swept by in that moment, handing him a file.
“Robin. Arsenal has brought a new member to the Titans. I expect you to zeta to the Tower and meet her as soon as you have finished reading her file.”
He opened his mouth to protest, and then thought better of it. Flipping open the file, he caught a glimpse of a young girl with dark hair and blue eyes, smiling cheerily at the photographer.

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 17 - Family Meeting
Tsuzuru: Chikage-san didn’t run away today.
Itaru: He was rushing to get his futon ready before I was.
Chikage: That’s because you kept just mindlessly playing your game.
Masumi: It’s annoying having to drag all our futons in here every time we do this.
Citron: I will put down my sheeping rag now!
Tsuzuru: Please just say sleeping bag.
Itaru: Well, sleeping here can only mean one thing.
Sakuya: Yeah. I wanted to get to try and get to know the stage a little better again.
Tsuzuru: …I’ve been trying to be careful and not get too worked up about it, but I can’t help but keep thinking about the Fleur Award.
Itaru: I always thought that if we all just did theater the way we always do, we’d one day be recognized and win the Fleur Award, but…
Itaru: Then the rankings came along and reminded me that things aren’t that easy IRL.
Chikage: The Fleur Award system has changed, so that’s understandable, but even if they hadn’t changed, we probably would’ve run into the same wall.
Masumi: If we want to stop worrying about rushing things, doesn’t that mean we should just stop thinking about the Fleur Award?
Tsuzuru: God, I wish…
Sakuya: Yuzo-san said that this isn’t the end of the Fleur Award, so there’s no need to rush things, but if we miss out on this one, it’ll be another two years until the next one happens…
Citron: In two years… I wonder what we will all be doing then~?
Tsuzuru: Hmm… I’d have graduated from college by then…
Masumi: I’d be on my fourth year.
Sakuya: Aside from you two, the rest of us are already done with school, so there might not be that much that’s different for us.
Chikage: Conversely, could any of you have imagined being here two or three years ago?
Itaru: Hell no. I would’ve been like, “Theater, what’s that?”.
Masumi: I never thought I’d end up doing theater.
Citron: I had never imagined doing it either, because I was planning to travel all over the world~.
Tsuzuru: If someone told me I’d get to be writing scripts as an in-house writer like this, I would’ve called them delusional.
Sakuya: And I would’ve been really surprised if someone told me I’d be making a living as an actor with the people I love!
Tsuzuru: Putting it like that, it’s like we’re all living in a future we only could’ve dreamed of back then.
Sakuya: Yeah. Being able to gather a group of trusted friends and continue to perform with them in a stable theater company…
Itaru: But there’s no guarantee that we’ll still be doing this two years from now.
Chikage: Maybe that’s just because our current selves are changing in ways we can’t even imagine.
Citron: If that is the case, I absolutely want to change for the better~.
Sakuya: Two years from now, I want to be standing in the future we’re dreaming of now.
Masumi: If we keep that in mind, what should we do for the upcoming Spring Troupe performance…
Tsuzuru: Obviously, we want to have fun with it ourselves, but our desire to entertain the audience has gotta be unwavering, too.
Itaru: On top of that, we wanna improve our rank and snag ourselves a spot among the nominees.
Chikage: That’s the goal of the entire company.
Sakuya: Aside from that, I knew I wanted more people to be aware of how much fun theater can be after doing the workshop.
Sakuya: And of course, that goes for MANKAI too.
Chikage: That’s why it’s important to boost our popularity and broaden our reach. It’d be even better if we could earn some more streaming votes too.
Itaru: To some extent, if we wanna take on the role of top batter, it’ll be our job to get those results and make a breakthrough.
Masumi: But it’s because we’re too busy feeling like that that we’re sitting here accomplishing nothing.
Tsuzuru: Can’t deny that.
Sakuya: …
Masumi: …We’re right back where we started.
Citron: We are merry-ing the go-round~.
Tsuzuru: I wish we were doing whatever that is, but unfortunately, we’re just going in circles.
Sakuya: I’ve… actually been thinking about that.
Sakuya: The other day, I got a request to play a role that’s bigger than the ones I usually do.
Sakuya: But it’s a regional performance, so I’d have to leave the dorms for a while…
Sakuya: I was gonna turn it down because it’s such an important time with focusing on the Fleur Award and all, and I was worried about my ability to handle both things.
Sakuya: --Until now, that is.
Sakuya: After talking to Towa-kun and Tenma-kun, I remembered how I was back during our debut.
Sakuya: Back then, I had just opened the door to the new world of theater, and there was a lot that I didn’t understand.
Sakuya: I was surprised by everything I saw, everything I felt. I was frantic and all over the place.
Sakuya: But I think I had more courage and bravery to try new things back then than I do now.
Sakuya: I’ve come to understand lots of things. Like how to tell what’s necessary and what isn’t for theater, what’s important to me and what isn’t…
Sakuya: But I think because I’m being made to make choices, I feel like I’m not able to open new doors that I would’ve challenged myself to open back then.
Tsuzuru: I get what you mean, being completely absorbed in seizing the chances you’re given, never thinking about the consequences of your actions… I guess I used to kinda be like that.
Tsuzuru: Not like there were that many chances to begin with.
Citron: It is because you have nothing that you feel like you can do anything, correct?
Chikage: Like a first performance, huh…
Itaru: For us, it’s our debut performance, but for you, it’s Oz, right, Senpai?
Chikage: Exactly. Being able to have something to devote myself to other than work certainly felt like having a new door opened for me.
Sakuya: The place where I belong will forever be MANKAI Company. And I’ll always have my Spring Troupe family to support me no matter what.
Sakuya: It’s because I have a place to belong like this that I’m able to set out on my own and step out into new worlds, and I think that makes taking the leap worth it.
Sakuya: I feel like there are parts of me that always end up being spoiled when I’m with you guys, so I want to set out from the troupe for a bit and try to do my best in a whole new place on my own.
Sakuya: And I want to grow as an actor as much as possible and bring something back home with me.
Sakuya: I don’t want to lose to my past self when it comes to that reckless urge to take on new challenges.
Sakuya: …Do you guys think I’m aiming for the wrong thing?
Tsuzuru: --Nah, I think you’re doing great.
Tsuzuru: I think I’m gonna try and participate in that scriptwriting training camp that I was gonna give up on for the sake of the performance…
Tsuzuru: Maybe I’ll even get some kinda hint on what I’ve been struggling with on the script. And it’s not good to forget about the desire to try new things, y’know?
Masumi: …Then I’m going to try and do that internship. I want to learn more about promotion so I can be useful to the Director.
Citron: Then… I shall participate in the arts festival I have been on the fence about.
Citron: If you are hesitating about something, that means there is a part of you that wants to do it. It is important to be honest with yourself about your feelings!
Chikage: Your own feelings, huh…
Itaru: …What are you going to do, Senpai?
Chikage: Shouldn’t I be asking you that? Weren’t you approached about something important at work?
Itaru: Compared to the rest of you guys, mine’s like the furthest away from actual theater.
Sakuya: Still, if it’s something you care about and are excited about, I think you should do it, Itaru-san.
Masumi: You initially joined the troupe for something entirely unrelated.
Tsuzuru: That something being two free meals made it easier for you to spend money on games.
Itaru: I mean, you’re right, but damn…
Itaru: Actually, y’know what, I don’t like being called out like that, so I’m gonna outperform all of you out of spite.
Itaru: You should follow your heart too, Senpai.
Chikage: …Well, I suppose I’ll try and see if I can come up with a challenge of my own to take on.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Citron: And that is why we are running away from home!
Tsuzuru: Yeah, no, that’s not what this is.
Sakuya: We thought that each of us could leave the dorms and try to take on each of our challenges on our own.
Izumi: I see… It’s a little surprising to hear, but I appreciate that you made the decision after talking it over with everyone.
Izumi: Let’s do rehearsals remotely while you’re away and then really focus in on them when you all get back.
Banri: Aight, we better rearrange the rehearsal schedules with that in mind.
Izumi: We can work that out later.
Izumi: Since you guys already have your roles down way more than you usually would, rehearsals have been progressing ahead of schedule, so we should be able to bounce back from this no problem.
Sakuya: Thank you so much.
Tsuzuru: We’ll do our best.
Izumi: (Each of them taking on a new challenge, huh… Yeah, I think it’ll be a great way for them to remember how they felt during their debut performance.)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Chikage: …
Hisoka: …Shouldn’t you be packing? You’re running away from home with the rest of Spring Troupe, aren’t you?
Chikage: We’re not running away from home.
Chikage: I’m basically done packing already. Well, I still don’t know whether I’m even going or not.
Hisoka: You don’t want to go?
Chikage: …There’s something I’d prefer to keep my distance from.
Chikage: No, I don’t even know what it is… I’ve been away from it for so long that I don’t even know what to feel anymore.
Hisoka: …Then shouldn’t you go and figure that out?
Hisoka: Sometimes there’s things that you can’t understand or remember unless you go and look them in the eyes directly.
Hisoka: Maybe the things you’ve always been unsure about or afraid of won’t be scary anymore. You won’t know for sure unless you face them head-on.
Chikage: …I suppose.

The dragon riders’ ranking of each other
it was a thought I had so now I’m doing it.
Hiccup -
Astrid (they’re a great team together, they balance each other well and she’s always been there for him since she first found out about toothless)
Fishlegs (Hiccup loves talking with fishlegs, he’s one of his closest friends and they can spend hours just rambling to each other. But they both also enjoy time separate and just chilling kinda on their own yknow?)
Tuffnut (he’s difficult to work with, but he is very funny and can sometimes lead to hiccups greatest ideas. He’s a fun guy to be around as long you’re not busy working. Also hiccups fascinated by the twins’ ingenuity, and I guarantee he just loves thinking about things they suggest he should make and figuring if he could actually make it work for real)
Snotlout (look, Hiccup loves snotlout and he’s sympathetic cause he knows he’s got his own issues with his dad and all, but he’s also a pain in the ass sometimes. It has to be said, Snotlout can just be difficult to work with on a day-to-day basis, often wanting to one-up hiccup when he’s not interested in participating. He’s gotten better over the years but it’s just annoying sometimes)
Ruffnut (honestly, I just think ruff and hiccup don’t hang out one-on-one as much as anyone else on the team. In the show(s) they never do if I recall, but even just on interpretation I don’t reckon they would much. If they did, she might be higher but overall i think they’re probably the least close of anyone on the team. To be clear, they’re still incredibly close - you kinda have to be after living on a small island together for a year with few other people - but comparatively less than other duos are with each other)
Astrid -
Hiccup (good team, doesn’t try to push her buttons and it’s fun to spar together - astrid usually wins but occasionally hiccup gets the upper hand)
Ruffnut (weirdly high, but I think after their fight in whatever that ep was in rtte where astrid and the twins were left to defend the Edge, astrid would have a genuine respect for ruffnut. They get along better as time goes on but she can be pretty funny, ya gotta admit)
Fishlegs (less annoying than the rest. If I’m honest it’s just that. She does love all of them but she’d put him above others not cause she likes him more but cause he annoys her less. He’s still below ruffnut just cause ruffnut sorta proved herself to astrid and that counts a lot for astrids opinion of a person, moreso even than just how much she enjoys talking with them)
Tuffnut (again, proved himself to astrid like ruffnut and honestly that’s mostly it for specific reasoning. She does love the guy but he gets on her nerves very often.) (Ruffnut’s “proving herself” has her ranked so highly cause it’s standing up to someone, even when that someone is Astrid herself, and Tuffnut’s “proving himself” doesn’t give as much of a boost because his came from proving astrid wrong about his capabilities, rather than being outwardly brave)
Snotlout (she does care about him and does fully and truly consider him one of her greatest friends, she’d die for him, she’d gladly protect him however necessary like she would for all of them... but he’s annoying as all hell. On the plus side he’s also very fun to mess with)
Fishlegs -
Hiccup (hiccup respects him the most, and fishlegs respects him. Also it’s so much fun talking about dragons together it’s awesome)
honestly probably Astrid (same reason as she has for him; less annoying than others. At the same time tho I think they’d find it fun to kinda gossip together (neither would ever admit to it). Like they’ll talk about hiccup and Snotlout and Heather and whatever antics the twins got into and actually I think they’d honestly have a blast just chatting and talking shit about the others. I bet they have meetings every week. New headcanon acquired)
Ruffnut (look, she’s hard to work with but I think fishlegs can see her intelligence and he appreciates it. I think also he just has a lot of love for his friends and after both the almost-marriage in Snotlout Gets the Axe and trying to coach Throk in wooing her, I reckon he got a bit of a soft spot for her
Snotlout (like I said, fishlegs has a lot of love for his friends. And Snotlout sure stretches that love to its limit at times but when it’s important, he’s there.)
Tuffnut (fishlegs finds it hard to just. Hang out with him. Tuffnut isn’t really one for calm, and Fishlegs is not a fan of constant action and excitement like the twins get up to. They’re very different people, they do care for each other but like damn they’re complete opposites 90% of the time, so they just don’t casually hang out much)
Snotlout -
Hiccup (he has so much respect for the guy, and yeah he’s also jealous but like. He’s fun, he’s cool, and he understands snotlout on a further level than the others, hiccup had issues living up to his dad’s expectations and Snotlout does too (think “maybe we aren’t so different” at the end of Snotlout gets the axe), just a lot of love and respect for the guy)
Tuffnut (best friends. That’s all I have to say)
Astrid (he respects her a lot, especially her fighting prowess, and altho he likes to annoy her (both deliberately and not) I just think he cares a lot for her, more than either of them would ever admit)
Fishlegs (does Snotlout take the piss and find him kinda lame a lot of the time? Yes. But there are times when he holds a lot of admiration for fishlegs, and there are times when they are just hanging. That time Fishlegs, Snotlout and Throk were basically doing gardening together? Phenomenal, I want more of that.)
Ruffnut (she scares him)
Tuffnut -
Ruffnut (of course)
Snotlout (he’s funny, he’s silly, and he’s very fun to mess with. Also he’s dumb enough to go along with some of their plans - getting in a fight with hiccup, for example)
Hiccup (honestly, he just loves the guy. He’s cool, he’s fun, he makes fun inventions - and he is the least likely to treat ruff and tuff like they’re stupid)
Fishlegs (he’s a great guy. He’s fun to mess with. One time he almost-married tuff’s own sister. What more can a guy ask for?)
Astrid (look, she’s awesome, and intimidating. And also kinda mean sometimes. She’s still awesome, but on a purely hanging-out basis she’s less fun than others that’s for sure)
Ruffnut -
Tuffnut (obviously. And by a long shot)
Hiccup (if she could convince Stoick to disown him and then the Thorston family to adopt him, she would)
Fishlegs (he’s sweet, kinda annoying at times but so’s everyone, not to mention on the flip side he’s fun to annoy. So it’s even.)
Astrid (she’s got respect for her. And astrid’s cool, a mildly terrible cook and often thinks her shits more important than others, but she’s cool.)
Snotlout (sorry, snotty boy, but as much as they hang out, he’s still the least favourite. He’s fun, and she does like messing around with him - both in terms of annoying him, and teaming up with him and tuffnut to annoy others - but I think out of everyone, it’s him or astrid that’s the lowest ranking for her. And she’d pick him for last place any day, because it would be funnier)
Bonuses!
Toothless is actually Hiccup’s no. 1.
and Heather would be Astrid’s 1.5.
Dagur’s a wild card for everyone, he rapidly changes ranking based on what he was like the last time they talked to him.

forty days and forty nights (day twenty-three!)
“that was fun last night, we should do that more often.” you smile as you hand bakugo his coffee. he only grunted in response.
“you alright?” you ask, leaning against the counter. he’d been quiet all day, even when you teased him about how spiky his hair is, something that usually would’ve gotten a rise out of him. of course, by “all day”, you meant about fifteen minutes, so it wasn’t saying much, but you still found yourself a little worried.
“m’fine.” bakugo responded gruffly, sipping his coffee. “jus’ tired.”
“long day today?” you ask sympathetically.
“nah. i was just up late last night.” bakugo answered.
“doing what?” bakugo gave you a slightly confused look.
“eating ramen with some dumbass.”
“well, when did you get home?”
“ten. went right to bed.”
you blinked. ten wasn’t late at all.
“well… when did you get up?”
“four.” that made a little more sense.
“when do you usually go to bed?”
“i dunno, 8:30?” you suddenly snort, clapping a hand to your mouth to stifle it as your cheeks flushed with embarrassment at the sudden laughter.
“the hell’re you laughing at?!” bakugo barked, brought back to life by sweet mockery.
“8— 8:30?!” you burst out laughing. “oh, bakugo, you poor soul..!”
“shut the fuck up! sleep’s important, you damn brat!” he roared, completely and totally offended by your words.
“i know, i know, but like— 8:30!” you gasped, trying to catch your breath. “oh, bakugo, i’m so sorry, i kept you up past your bedtime.”
“will you quit that already?” bakugo snarled, opening his fists to reveal sparking palms.
“alright, alright,” you giggle, holding up your hands in surrender. “my bad.”
“no shit.” bakugo scowled. “annoying dumbass.”
“you love me.” you tease, quoting his own words from yesterday.
“fuck off, you wish.” bakugo scoffed haughtily.
“i bet a lot of people wish.” you joke, poking the arm that leaned on the counter. bakugo didn’t pull his arm away. “mr. number two popularity ranking.”
“number one.” he corrected suddenly.
“number one?” you repeat, surprised.
“yeah, my mission boosted it this month. i’m number one in the hero rankings and popularity.” bakugo smirked.
“that’s amazing, bakugo, good job!” a grin breaks out across your face. “hey, coffee’s free tomorrow as a little treat.”
“yeah, whatever.” bakugo huffed, but the smirk remained.
“i bet all your fangirls were worried about you.” you whisper with a shit-eating grin.
“shut the hell up, will you?!” bakugo instantly roared to life. looks like the coffee worked. “you were worried, ‘s’at make you a fangirl too? hah?”
“no, because i when i met you i didn’t know you were a pro hero.” you said.
“what difference does that make?” bakugo glared.
“it means i know you as bakugo, not as dynamight. so i’m not worried as a dynamight fan, i’m worried as bakugo’s friend.” you explain.
“that’s stupid. i’m dynamight, y’know.” bakugo replied rather bluntly, giving you a skeptical look.
“but it’s different.” you insist.
“whatever.”
“…do you actually have fangirls though”
“goddammit.”
“do you?” you demand. “i’ve gotta know if people actually thirst after your grumpy face.”
“piss off!” bakugo snapped. “yes, those shitty online forums.”
“any ones in real life?”
“yes.” bakugo answered begrudgingly. this you found very amusing. you figured it was the same as approaching endeavor, a now-retired hero who was prominent in your childhood, always number two to all might. grumpy and unpleasant, but something about their unwavering determination just makes you want to root for them.
“i want stories.” you tap the countertop insistently.
“what, you think this is story time?” bakugo gave you his signature disdainful look before sipping his coffee. “what’re you, two?”
“we’ve gone older this, i’m older than you.”
“only by a couple months.” bakugo huffed.
“you don’t know how many.”
“i don’t care how many.”
“ouch, bakugo,” you feigned being wounded. “that hurt.”
“yeah, right.” bakugo rolled his eyes, before very reluctantly relating a story of a fangirl. “some creepy ass teenage girl came up to me and latched onto my arm and said a bunch of weird shit. i shook her off. never saw her again, which is a plus in my damn book.”
“wow, you’re a really bad storyteller.” you marveled.
“yeah, well, my job is to kill villains, not tell stories to fucking kids!” bakugo glared pointedly. point taken.
“hey, respect your elders!” you scold.
“not when my ‘elder’ is acting like a damned two year old!” bakugo countered.
“touché.” you arched an eyebrow. “…but still.”
“still, what?”
“nothing.”
“annoying dumbass.”
“fuck off, you wish.”

Alright so how Does Sasha get Barrels Warhammer in this AU eventually?
Also do the girls when they’re teenagers start to activate their calamity powers subconsciously?
I imagine she gets it in the same way as she did in canon, shortly after taking over the South Tower. She gets it in order to earn legitimacy in the eyes of the other towers, since she's the only non-toad to ever reach the rank of Captain, or any rank for that matter (though her men in the South Tower do refer to her as a toad - they even consider her more toad than any other toad in the tower). Beatrix in particular quickly takes a liking to her, since she beat her brother. They might or might not form some kind of toxic friendship but I'm not sure yet.
As for calamity powers... iirc they begin to activate when they're trying to protect someone, right? Because if that's the case, I can imagine Anne and maaaaayyybe Sasha's activating a little bit when they're trying to protect their respective families (the Plantars for Anne and Percy and Braddock for Sasha). Now that I think about it, Sasha may be the first one to see her powers activate, and with the most intensity too, which would give her an ever bigger boost on her climb to power - she has the hammer AND powers? Well shit looks like we gotta do as she says.
That makes Anne the only person capable of standing up to her for a long time which DOES come up eventually. They're gonna be BIG enemies to friends/lovers, like just wanting to murder each other for a long time.
Marcy is a lot more sheltered in this AU. She still becomes the Chief Ranger and still goes on missions but her adventures are never as intense as Sasha's, and even when things get rough, it's likely Andrias will still represent an obstacle in her reconnecting to her powers.
#amphibia#raised in amphibia au#sasha waybright#anne boonchuy#marcy wu#my posts#sasha is kinda insane here don't mind her#like canon sasha but WORSE#but also her problems with the other girls aren't as personal (yet#it's complicated
