Its really interesting that Jimmy’s chair is the one tilted away from the screen in this shot:

It’s indicative of how his and Jimmy’s dynamic was. He’s not staring ahead at the screen, he’s not paying attention to what they are doing. Curly is the only one looking forward. Jimmy quite literally couldn’t see the responsibility Curly had or was doing. Jimmy likely slacked off and avoided most of his duties. I mean the one time we know he pilots the Tulpar he steers it wrong and loses the team 4000 credits. Even in the positions they held objectively, Curly was always taking responsibility for Jimmy. Not to mention the “We can fix this” and only one chair at attention. Jimmy never had intentions to fix anything, throughout the game, throughout his entire relationship with Curly. Curly always fixed it? Why would it be any different here?

If he even took the slightest bit of responsibility, he would’ve stayed in the cockpit to see his plan through. In the end Curly did what Jimmy always expected him to do for him and took responsibility. Did what he always did and took responsibility at the wrong time…

#cross posted on twitter #I like think it’s insane how subtle some shots are but yeah #like he doesn’t even take the captains seat to try and crash the ship #the one time he took quote responsibility unquote he still did it from the inattentive side #and then ran from what he did and literally shielded himself from the consequences like closed the door and all like it’d be done quick #even if Curly didn’t run in we know it would’ve failed and everyone would’ve known #also I saw someone say that Jimmy assaulted Anya because he was trying to put a black mark on Curly’s record as captain #and I just can’t believe that because he didn’t want to be found out about it #like think about he can’t take responsibility and tries to avoid punishment you really think his ego would allow him to risk #his image and reputation just to get to Curly? he wants to drag curly down by using him as a ring on the ladder but why would he weaken it #first? he only has the job because of him and he’d know that like Jimmy is brash and done but his hateful acts are calculated in a way to #get to others and not back to him #I mean he crashes the ship cause this would go on his permanent record and it’s likely that Jimmy had never got caught for an offense this #socially or legally damning and that’s another reason he panicked so bad he’s clearly escalorty #mouthwashing #mouthwashing game #jimmy mouthwashing #curly mouthwashing

#spn #vid #spnamvarchive #so fun fact i started making this more than a year ago. got it 90% done. and then was like no this isn't working #i will come back to this later.#it turns out that i needed to make some videos about cas and angels (the love club + help i'm alive amvs)#in order to make this one. anyway this video is about french mistake robert singer voice season six #i really struggled with it because i could NOT find the thread until i realized that it needed to be literally godstiel pov #it's about love and desire and jealousy and hurt and omnidirectional rage <3 #it's about the fact that cas is so utterly dependent on dean for his self-image - however dean sees him that's it #it's about having a moment of reflection about lashing out before you do it but doing it anyway #it's about taking cruelty and dishing it out #and crucially. it's about being pregnant #mpregpocalypse #fun fact: i made a post about working on three season six amvs all the way back in nov. 2022 #and only now have they come to fruition (this one + love club + metric)#anyway. have you heard that cas is obsessed #the thing is i do kinda want to add some specific director's commentary here. like the first verse is about cas being like.#incredibly deeply emotionally vulnerable to dean. as in: his emotional state and self-image is totally dominated by what dean thinks of him #and if dean is mad at him. and then the second verse is about... dean upsetting him and him responding to that by Killing Everybody lol #like he has a moment of reflection ['certain regrettable things are now required of me' + killing rachel] where he's like i've 1) also done #bad things and 2) i feel bad about it so maybe i will regret Killing Everyone. but then he does it anyway due to everybody keeps turning #on him. i feel like the rest of the amv is self evident. i guess i should note that 'share a paradise' is about how both of them have #a nostalgic view of the early days of their relationship when it wasn't Like This lol. but everything else i think is self evident.#oh and the reason the other angels flash onscreen with their burned wings at the end is i'm EVOKING the image of cas' wings burning. even #though it doesn't happen. i'm evoking it

I love your artwork so much! Your colors are so vibrant and none of the white speckles in the paper ever shows, its so impressive and I really dig it! I was wondering if you use any sort of blending medium? Like baby oil or anything? Either way, I really enjoy looking at your artwork and I'm always excited to see whatever you'll make next

I use a colorless blender (prismacolor, which is wax-based so baby oil probably wouldnt work) but my scanner is also rly bad about picking up white specks in a way photographing the art with my phone isnt, so I usually have to do some digital editing to get rid of them as well.

I do this by duplicating the layer, setting the one on top to "darken," and using the mixer brush to blend out the white spots + just use the eyedropper tool to select the color of that area (needs to be a slightly lighter shade of it) and color over the white spots with the brush tool

i edited a small bit of the original scan to show what i mean

heres how it looks set to normal instead of darken, I used both the mixing brush and regular brush just to demo it

#explanation is under the cut. post got a bit too long #u prob have to click the image for full resolution to rly see what i mean about the white specks showing up #i think its bc the scanner is meant to scan documents. so it picks up the white specks of paper very brightly #how much editing is done varies from piece to piece #ive thought abt listing 'digital art' as one of the mediums in tags for the more heavily edited art #where it looks significantly different than the physical drawing in front of me #but i feel like that might be confusing #art where i set out to do some mix of traditional and digital is tagged this way but im not rly sure where to draw the line tbh #the hunger wasnt edited in a way where it looks significantly different from the original (just a bit darker)#the scan is just dull and light bc my scanner is like that lol #so with editing that one i was mostly just trying to make it look like the physical drawing in front of me #u can tell by the 'layer 44' in the screenshot these take a lot of editing lmao #art help

Genuinely had me at a loss for words when I first read it, which I will brag about being one of the first ones to do, because I have been handed the honors of actually beta reading this beautiful story !!
