As someone who has never even touched ATLA (anime), and has only ever seen the movie, let me give you a list of reasons why i absolutely adored it :

aang is literally a kid in this one, like he's a child hero and golden boy, and god, doesn't your chest hurt a little from seeing all that youth pain and pain? don't you feel raw?

katara is a total badass. i know some of the anime fans don't like how she's different, but i look up to her so much and she's younger than me canonically. i would die for her. i esp like the fact that she saw jet, liked him, but the second she realised he was kind of a cult-leader she went fuck that shit im out

I’ve debated about this for a while, talking to people in a discord server about it and shit like that. But in my opinion I feel like there are various routes you could take with this.

For example, say ashlyn or aiden are one of the MAIN characters. So a child of the big three. But I think they both do not fit Poseidon.

I feel like Ashlyn would be a child of Zeus, and Aiden would be a child of Hades. I don’t think I really need to explain why I think this, but wtv..

To sum it up, Zeus with Ashlyn because she took on the role as leader. And some more shit but wtv,

NOW TO ACTUAL HOUSES AND NOT BIG THREE!!!!

Ashlyn would be a child of Athena. I think everyone pretty much agrees with this. Her being the strategist while also being good at fighting. She make’s the groups plans and is the leader of the group. People rely on her, and her ideas.

But I also feel like, Ashlyn gives off pretty roman vibes.

So I also feel like she’d be a daughter of Bellona. She’s very set on her plans. She’s mature (for her age, ofc she still has regular 14/15 year old feelings) and responsible. She’s responsible for her actions, good at fighting, mostly a rule follower, and a lot more.

So i’m very torn between Greek/Athena Ashlyn OR Roman/Bellona Ashlyn.

Aiden would be a child of Hermes.

Due to moving around a lot during his childhood links to Hermes being the God of travelers. As well as his speed and durability, a thing most travelers need. Also Aiden being mischievous also works with Hermes.

Ben would be a child of Apollo hands down.

The healing? Hello? He’s the groups designated healer. He healed Ashlyn, heals Aiden all the time, healed Tyler in the school, and also healed Logan. Or at least he tended to them wtv, SAME THING.

Also his love for music? Apollo being the god of music? it’s perfect guys i swear.

Logan would be a child of Demeter. Obviously because of his grandparents being florists, so maybe one of them is also a child of Demeter? Idk, anyways, he also has some ancestry to Urania, one of the nine muses, who is the patron to astronomy.

Now, the twins are tricky. They both have very distinct personalities and are completely different in the way they act. Tyler being standoffish, while Taylor being extremely friendly. And lots of other traits.

I feel like these two can fit under twos gods. So maybe either one of these.

I think they’re either Hephaestus kids, OR Aphrodite.

Hephaestus kids because Taylor is known for being in the robotics/mechanics club and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. Although she’s friendly to people and is an extrovert, I think she’d fit well be a Hephaestus kid. (similar to Leo maybe? except people like her… (sorry leo))

Now Tyler. I feel like he was the handyman of the house, which can be seen in that one panel of him fixing something. So I think he’d fit under that. And even if he didn’t tinker, I feel like he’d be the “mom” of the cabin and help other Hephaestus kids, like giving them tools and shit.

And then the twins being Aphrodite. I have no clue why but they kinda give off Aphrodite. They’re both popular and well liked, (even if Tyler doesn’t seem to like being popular…) they’re not pretty/handsome, and although Tyler has trouble regulating his emotions, I feel like he’d give pretty good emotional advice.

So I finished Shinkenger. Amazing show

Kinda despised Kaoru at first. Mostly because of the fact that she practically came out of nowhere and just took Takeru's place along with all his gear. Idk. I just hate it when characters get all their hard work taken from them all of a sudden with no justified reason. Like I get the whole Takeru was a decoy and all, but I was right there with Genta on disliking Kaoru. And it's only because of the fact that she took Takeru's spot. Aside from that, she is a fantastic fighter and leader. If she was shinken red from the start of the series, I would die for her

And then she suddenly becomes one of my favorite characters after stating that she knew the samurai were more loyal to Takeru then their duty. And she didn't give them shit for it because she knew the reason why. It's because while she was hidden away to train, the samurai were fighting on the frontlines with Takeru, the decoy who would put his whole body and soul at risk to keep them safe. God I love Shinkenger.

Also doesn't help that the one scene with Genta showing up to help out Kaoru made my brain want to ship them

Honestly, I could never bring myself to hate Kaoru tbh. I always felt like she knew she was as stuck as Takeru was. The whole kagemusha thing was enacted before she was born... how much of a choice or a say could she even have? Not to mention the sheer loneliness she must've felt growing up in isolation (unlike Takeru, who had Genta as a childhood friend), training day and night for 17 years knowing her father died in the hope she would one day succeed.. and then all her efforts were for naught.

And even then, she found her own way to contribute to the Shinkengers succeeding... and putting Tanba in his place. She's a badass wielding a sword, and she's a badass wielding a paper fan of doom.

Every time she appeared thereafter I clapped like a fucking seal lol. I love Kaoru so much

Also, Runa Natsui, Kaoru's actress, was FOURTEEN YEARS OLD when she played her. She was FOURTEEN when she made history as Sentai's first female red ranger. And you can't even tell she's way younger than the whole cast including her on-screen adopted son because that's just how well she acted as Kaoru. God. Damn.

idk much about the rwby x dc crossover except jealous bumbleby but i did sort of keep up with the latest rwby season and your comment about dick and ruby getting along makes so much sense to me.

like ruby is the leader and it’s really been weighing on her for a couple of season until it kinda comes to a head in the latest and she snaps. like this season has rwby + jaune go through basically a wonderland dimension and while the others went through instances where they faced their inner selves/troubles there’s a being that actively made sure ruby couldn’t and that lead to the others becoming more sure of themselves and even for blake and yang to finally get together and it’s great and sweet!

only issue was ruby had been closing herself off slowly the entire season and putting on a brave face until she couldn’t. because as much as the others were getting better they never stopped looking at her to lead and she basically goes why am i always the one with the plan and the one who’s happy etc until she runs off after she realized she snapped. which all leads to her having a no good bad time where the others are too late to uh. let’s say stop her from “remaking” herself into a new person who fundamentally isn’t ruby anymore.

she does get a therapy session in and realizing it’s ok for her to love herself and be herself burdens or not and coming back to kick ass with everyone.

sorry for the ramble especially if you’re already kept up on rwby but idk ruby and dick to me have so many parallels with both being the youngest and leader in their respective og teams (rwby and teen titans) as well as the burden of being the one who always has to move forward through everything. also both of them being literal beacons of hope with how ruby in the season before last sent out a worldwide transmission asking for help and giving hope in the same speech and dick being dick. ok now i’m done thanks for reading the word vomit <3

Not at all I loved reading all of it!

I'm actually not caught up with the RWBY but I really got into Ruby when I stumbled across the RWBY: Ice Queendom opening scene.

And I was instantly hooked!

I kept watching the show and I just fell in love with Ruby. My favorite type of characters are those that are cheerful and sweet but unstoppable badasses. AKA RUBY AND DICK. Not only that, both Ruby an Dick are the leaders of their teams. Ruby with the RWBY team and Dick with everyone. Literally, he'll walk into the room and everyone else automatically treats him like the leader.

Ruby also has a strong sense of moral justice and her understanding of the battle field makes her battle tactics one of the best in the entire RWBY universe. Much like Dick, the two of them are able to understand the situation quicker than everyone else and are able to formulate a plan that leaves them winning practically every time.

Not to mention, they both have sweet tooths. Ruby with her sugary coffee and Dick with his sugary cereal.

There's so much I could go on about the similarities between these two. The crazy intelligent cinnamon rolls with the tactical sense of Sun Tzu and the heart of Mansa Musa.

I was so happy to see all their interactions.

I have seen the new Knights of the Zodiac movie and must now scream into the void about this fandom no other English-speakers care about. General thoughts above the cut, spoiler-y thoughts below it.

In general: it's fine. Fun even. I'm not gonna sit here and tell you it's a masterpiece, but I'd watch sequels. I'd be interested to see how they interpret other stories in the series given what they've set up here.

It's basically a reworked, movie-original origin story designed to give Seiya and Sienna actual character arcs, and it does that. Pretty much all the weirdness comes from the fact that they're clearly using the Netflix series as the basis of deviation, not the original manga or anime.

Despite the multinational cast, being filmed in English, and everybody trying to talk it up as a "Hollywood" take on the franchise, I honestly don't think it felt like a Hollywood movie. Something about the pacing, editing and special effects reminded me way more of Japanese cinema, specifically high-budget tokusatsu productions like Gatchaman and Shin Ultraman. Which is honestly what I wanted so I was perfectly happy.

The central cast is great. I'd like to see them come back.

I liked the special effects and designs, personally.

They made some great use of music that was either based on, remixed from, or just completely new orchestral arrangements of the music from the original anime.

Sean Bean made it to the second-act climax before his inevitable death.

The choice to make Guraad, the military leader from the Netflix series, a woman, and also Kido's ex-wife, was a fascinating choice. But hey, it meant the movie passes the Bechdel test, because she and Sienna have this interesting, antagonist mother/daughter relationship that has absolutely nothing to do with the men in their lives and everything to do with the existential horror of humanity confronting the gods so. That's fun.

Marin was appropriately badass. I really liked her chemistry with Seiya's actor.

Honestly in general Mackenyu was a real highlight of the film? Him and Diego Tinoco both, they were great. Madison Iseman and Mark Dacasos were both more Hollywood-y, but they put in good performances, and once Sienna went full Athena the effects and performance were pretty spot-on.

Cassios shows up as a henchgoon and jobber. He's got an Ophiuchus tattoo, which was an interesting little detail.

But speaking of little details -- unsurprisingly, Nero is the one with the most interesting potential for sequels. He's the only other Knight besides Seiya and Marin that we get to see and acts as Guraad's "dragon" and mystical-stuff advisor throughout the film. They don't really explain what his deal is, aside from wanting to kill Athena and steal the Gold Cloth, so he could be there on Sanctuary's behalf. But at one point during their fight he says to Seiya, "Humans don't need any gods." And throughout the movie, he's wearing an earring that is super obviously Shun/Shaun's triangle chain. That has some really interesting potential for sequels, particularly in parallel with what they do with Seika/Patricia protecting Seiya.

Oh, and it ended with both Seiya and Nero shirtless and showing off their very nice abs so hey, kudos for remembering the secondary fanbase that's kept this franchise alive.

So yeah, overall: I see why it only got a limited release, but it'd sure be nice if it was popular enough in Latin America to fund a sequel. I've seen worse movies. This is a cheesy-ass franchise, I never get my hopes up too high, if it entertains me for the length of the film I consider it a success.

Still think it's hilarious that Sean Bean wound up here. How the hell did that happen.

TDI23 Season 2 ep 1 thoughts and theories. Spoilers ahead.

*I did see the earlier leak of the teams and first boot btw*

Chris is bonkers as usual and Chef is pretty much the same so far. I expect that to change if my theories about Lauren are right.

The opening being the exact same as last time bugs me a little bit but I guess they are avoiding spoilers that way so meh.

The team names are pretty lame tbh but whatever.

I liked the challenge for the most part and how everyone got to compete. Axe Hatchet is a total badass and I wouldn't mind seeing her again. 10/10 side character.

I feel bad for Sally, Chris is such a turd.

I'm on the fence about the elimination. More on that down below.

Now onto the contestants:

Team Rat Face

Priya:

She's the only winner of season one which I didn't fully expect but it makes sense given her storyline and her parents are insane. Especially her dad, my god. She's an official team leader and is still holding a grudge against Ripper lol. Her concern over Millie in the challenge was sweet. I hope she goes far again and learns to stand up for herself against her parents.

Millie:

Her sassing Bowie was funny to me but she didn't read Priya's Total Drama guidebook and tried way too hard in the first challenge. It kinda seems like she didn't want to come back or something. I hope she reads the guide before she gets eliminated early on like so many people are saying.

Emma:

I'm glad she broke up with Chase but they need to STAY BROKEN UP. Her giving Nichelle the cold shoulder was really mean and a little unexpected. It seems like her and Bowie aren't speaking to each other and I'm curious to see how that plays out. Not sure where she'll place, maybe in the middle?

Caleb:

Seems like he's trying to be strategic instead of villainous so far and struggling a little bit thanks to Millie. I hope he doesn't hurt Priya in some way. It's nice to see him getting more lines and screentime. He'll probably go far.

Damien:

I didn't expect him to still be a scaredy cat after what he said last season. If he doesn't change for the better soon I'm going to be extremely disappointed. No idea where he will place.

Axel:

She says that she's going to try to be nicer this time but I have my doubts and Ripper seems to be the exception lol. She might go far or she might go early again for being hot-headed.

Zee:

My favourite of season one is back and a soda influencer now which I didn't see coming. I really hope it doesn't get him eliminated early like it did in the challenge which was total crap. His soda was "moving" but he wasn't so he should have been fine. I would also like to see him interact with Priya more because I kinda ship them a bit. Both of his closest friends are on the other team so it could happen. I hope he goes far.

Nichelle:

She trained in the offseason and it paid off! I think she'll go far as long as it doesn't go to her head.

Team Skunk Butt

Bowie:

The other official team leader. His sass towards Chase was great but I thought it was weird that he picked him for his team. A lot of the cast is mad at him for last season and with that half-hearted apology, he seems to be digging himself into a deeper hole. His romance with Raj is still sweet and I hope it stays that way. I personally think he'll get booted early.

Raj:

I don't know if he'll go early or later but I think he'll help Emma and Bowie become friends again at the very least.

Wayne:

I would like him to go farther I think but I don't know what storyline he could have if he does. Might be an early boot unfortunately.

Julia:

Her and MK suddenly getting along is super weird and I fully expect one to backstab the other. I was impressed how she took Emma out of the challenge though. Another middle boot?

Chase:

Still dumb and still over confident. I could see him going early just for that and not listening to Bowie during challenges.

MK:

Seems to be on friendly terms with Julia but I think it's an act and she's going to backstab her at some point. Has an idea for the extra intern uniform and her hitching a ride on Caleb's back during the challenge was funny. She might go really far this time.

Lauren/Scary Girl:

Her new outfit is so weird but points for trying to fit in. Her scaring Bowie early on was kinda funny but her elimination was dumb. I don't know what Chef was going to say to her but her speech felt kinda forced and her team forgetting that she's a powerhouse when focused bothers me. I get why they did but still. Plus now they're on her bad side after voting her off. I fully expect her to be living in the woods and giggling in the middle of the night just to mess with them. She could also sabotage challenges somehow and be a genuine threat for everyone on the island. It'd be great to see Chris legitimately be afraid of her and her antics, he hasn't had that reaction to someone in a while. I'm excited to see more of her!

Ripper:

He was friendly to Axel at first, didn't fart at all and knew who Axe Hachet was. Was still rude to the acting team leader but he seems to be a bit better than last season so far. Could stick around a while?

Blake Stahller. Easy.

Let me tell you, this man is 𝐓𝐎𝐗𝐈𝐂 toxic. A kiss you and stab you in the stomach at the same time kind of man. A make you suck on the barrel of his gun before he kills you brand of toxic.

A red flag with green hair.

My BPD and NPD king.

Brooklyn badass that will shove his fingers in your eyes if you look at him funny.

Black blooded demon with an extremely short fuse and drinking problem.

He makes his first appearance in book one. He comes off as rough, slick tongued and foul mouthed. Despite his rocky exterior, Blake is as loyal as they come. That is if you're lucky enough to earn his loyalty. He has a very dominant personality. He's extremely antagonistic.

A few small things about Blake is that he was raised by his hard headed, Italian mother. He knows Italian very well and sometimes lets it slip when he's pissed off or flustered. He's openly pansexual and makes a habit of flirting with others. It's like a sport to him. Nothing really sticks with him romance wise. No one can catch his eye long enough.

Except a spitfire blonde boy named Zeke who hits back. Blake just can't seem to shake the brat and it really pisses him off🤭 though he can't deny how much he craves the struggle and aggression that Zeke brings to the table. The only scar he has is the one given to him by Zeke with a broken bottle🥴

Blake is extremely explosive and his only outlets are violence and sex. More than often at the same time. Every other word that comes out of his mouth is a cuss word or insult. He's not easy to get along with and nobody has been able to tear down his walls, and let me tell you, there's some serious trauma behind those bricks. He's from Brooklyn, NY and is known as a vicious gang leader. He runs some of the biggest underground organizations all through the state and across the country. He's clever and he's terrifying.

Blake is also open about his intentions. He won't lie to you. If he wants to fuck you, he'll say so. If he wants to kill you, it was nice knowing you. If he wants you to work for him, you'll see a charismatic side that will lure you in. If he wants to fight, he'll throw the first and last punch.

He doesn't take disrespect or stupidity lightly. You might as well have spit on his boot if you cross him. He's cut off people's hands, scalped them, tortured and humiliated them, burned their eyes with a cigarette. His interrogation skills are impeccable.

You can't touch what's his. God help you if you steal from him or attack one of his men. There are only two things exempt from his rage. Kids and animals. He'll respect a woman if she respects him. Plain and simple. You can't tell him what to do or how to act because you're "not his fuckin' mother."

It's why he's my favorite to write. His character has so many possibilities. There are tons of layers to this character and each one is more interesting than the last. I can go down any road with him and just be like "that's Blake" he's that unpredictable and wild. He doesn't give a shit how big and bad an opponent is, he will always find a way to come out on top.

I agree. That's another thing-don't get me started on the people bashing Jonathan for this season/saying he didn't do anything/I've even seen one person claim that he was acting exactly like his father. How? How is he a child abuser that only cares about himself and puts his own wants and needs before his own? And they're claiming its because he was doing drugs all season/putting his wants ahead of their needs or some bs.

How? when he spent ALL season taking care of everyone and being the leader. trying to save El/ and he had tried to make her feel better about what happened with Angela and he was playing mom to Mike and Will and Argyle for that matter. Being the leader, coming up with plans, sheilding Mike and Will when guys came in with guns ext ext I just don't understand it.

He spent the ENTIRE SEASON saving/protecting Will, Mike, and especially El and comforting people. The whole reason they were on that roadtrip was to save El. It's not his fault El is a badass and can protect herself when she gets her powers back-and thats the point. Jonathan knows El can protect herself, but feels that she shouldn't HAVE TO. Thats his little sister and he takes his role as a mother to his baby siblings very seriously.

And in that situation-he did save El in more ways than one. Not only did she need saving as in needing help getting to a safe place, away from the people attacking her, and a sensory dep tank so she could save Max ext all of which he helped to make happen, but she also needed saving in others way-she needed to be shown she was loved and cared about after confronting her own abusive father and being called a monster by the goverment who was trying to kill her. And Jonathan showed her how much they all loved her when they came to rescue her. She didn't need them to fight in the battle, but she did need them for emotional support. To be reminded that she is not a monster and shes very loved by her family who went through hell and back to be there for her when she needed them most and even if Hopper and Joyce can't be there to save her atm, her brothers sure as hell can be.

They pull excuses out of their asses all the time to come up with reasons to hate Jonathan. And they make up lies about him too. And over react to something that was a JOKE at the end of S4. I saw multiple people saying he should have died because of the comment he made about Steve when it was a joke. And how dare Jonathan question the leadership abilities of someone that bullied him for god knows how long. Yeah Jonathan is a real monster for doing that. AND it was a joke! That's why he sort of laughed when he said it, but do they get that no? But they can pull a far fetched ship out of their ass when they get the notion.

Exactly. There is a whole list of reasons I could give for how heroic and amazing Jonathan was this season, but again another time another post. But that is on there-thats one of them. Jonathan spent the whole season trying to save El/then saving her and if it wasn't for him-El would have never gotten there to help take down Vecna-Nancy Steve and Robin probably would have died trying.

Not to mention that Steve and Nancy being there in the first place is BECAUSE of Jonathan because Jonathan made Nancy and Steve better people in the first place who put others before themselves. They both were a lot different in S1 before Jonathan. Jonathan is the one who saved the in more ways than one and changed them for the better and confronted Nancy and Steve in S1 and both of those confrontations lead to them becoming better people who cared more about others than themselves for a change. Jonathan is the reason why Steve and Nancy are heroes now in the first place, but Jonathan doesn't get credit for that either.

Kaname Date, this man is literally the full package. I mean, he's hot, smart, dumb, goofy, a fantastic dad figure, horny as hell, lover of puns, can kick people's ass with ease, what else do you want?

Kuruto Ryuki, honestly Ryuki is one of my absolute favourites. He is the definition of a poor lil meow meow and a babygirl and my god do I love him for it. Okay, ngl, usually I tend to prefer male characters over female characters. I don't know why, it's just always been that way, I've related to them more, I guess? BUT I love the female characters so much more in this series, they're all fantastic, I adore them. That being said I definitely have some favourites.

Mizuki Date, god I fucking love Mizuki, she is my daughter who can and will kick anyone's ass. When I saw her all grown up in Nirvana Initiative, I screamed... And then I found out you played as her in Nirvana Initiative and I screamed again even louder. Honest to god though, Mizuki is one of the best written characters I've ever seen, especially for a child character, and the poor girl goes through so much... Also, Corina Boettger's performance is incredible, I don't know how they managed to genuinely sound like a twelve year old girl but they did it and they gave one of the best performances in the whole game, which is saying something but the dub as a whole is amazing.

Aiba, I love Aiba so, so, so much. I love how in the real world she acts as a straight man to Date's antics but will still trade puns with him and then in the Somnium's she gets goofy and Date acts as a straight man to her. She has so many funny moments and I adore her crazy smile when she's really enjoying something. Also, her lil jelly hamster design is so cute, I love it.

Shizue Kuranushi aka Boss, Listen... I am not immune to hot women, okay? Especially when they're voiced by Allegra Clark. This is the third time this has happened to me and my heart still can't handle it. But I mean... She's hot, she's badass, she's flirty, she's funny... She's perfect. Also, I want to avoid spoilers since you're debating whether to check out the series or not, but there is A Scene that everyone adores and with very good reasons and all I'll say is, if you weren't in love with Allegra Clark's performance already, you will be after that scene.

Date/Ryuki, Date has two hands. But honestly, it's the way Ryuki talks about Date that gets me. Plus the idea of Mizuki judging him for his taste in men is just funny to me.

Iris/Amame, I just think they'd be cute, not to mention they're always checking up on each other when stressful stuff happens and share a lot of interests so I can see plenty of chemistry. Also, pretty bubblegum colour scheme.

3 platonic dynamics I love:

Can I just say the whole of Abis and their families? Like, the whole group is essentially a huge family at this point when you consider all the stuff that goes on throughout both games.

Ota and Mayumi, god that route destroyed me emotionally, it was so bittersweet. But I love me a good family driven story, so seeing this mother and son work their way through their issues and how they tried their best to protect each other.

Ryuki and Tama, ngl Tama was so, so, so close to being one of my favourite female characters, she just needs more screen time so, y'know... Anyway, I love their dynamic both in the real world and in the Somnium and I love how Tama knows about Ryuki's issues and tries to help him as much as possible despite his honestly self destructive work mentality, like when she forces him to go to the hospital.

I like to think that Aiba and Tama sometimes do their augmented reality hologram thing just so they can join Mizuki, Iris and the other girls for their girls nights sometimes. Doesn't matter that they can't eat or interact with anything, just hanging out with them is enough.

I know that we see Ryuki drunk a couple of times and he's really mopey in both of them, but I like to think that when he's having a night out and doesn't have anything weighing on him, he's quite a giggly drunk. Scott x Allison: True Classic

Scallison is so sweet as it is truly the epitome of young love. Romeo and Juliet, except Romeo is even more of an idiot and Juliet is a badass who dies for a cause. They’re moral and ethical codes are both highly valued by themselves, even if they don’t align with others very often. They loved with everything they had. They were beautiful. We’re they soulmates in the end, or just the first love who will always hold a special place in your heart? Who knows, but I’ll always love these immature kids who thought their love could change everything.

Stiles x Lydia: The Long Awaited

Stydia is as slow burn as you can get. Unfortunately their actual getting together was slightly rushed in my opinion. They didn’t have time to find their own as a couple because Stiles just wasn’t in the show enough at that point. I know the reasons behind it, but it did leave this couple at an awkward stage of official-but-not-shown. The idea that Stiles loved her as a kid, immature and infatuated, and he saw her for who she really was, will always be cute. Then they grew, changed, became friends, and found other people. Them finding each other later on, having real love that’s developed slowly, is a wonderful arc. Though, a part of me will always believe they should have pursued other story lines in the wake of Stiles’ absence from the plot. They’re finally together! …but we don’t get to see it.

Jackson x Lydia: The Image

Oh Jackson and Lydia. Honestly, I love them. Their connection at a time in their lives when they couldn’t open up to anyone else, just hits me right in the feels. I mean, god that HUG. You know the one. Always brings me to tears. I’m so sad their relationship was almost entirely depicted during Jackson’s kanima time when he couldn’t think nor truly act for himself. Those small moments of scared vulnerability when he wanted to protect her from himself… I’ll miss these two. They deserved to find other people and remain life-long friends. I loved their moment in the last episode. I wish they’d gotten to see each other grow. Also they had such bixbi solidarity vibes, and I’ll die on that hill.

Scott x Lydia: Leaders

Ok, I’m gonna be honest here. I ship it. The power couple they would have been?? Also them coming together after they lost Allison would have actually made sense. A part of me kinda wishes the writers had moved on from Stydia as a romantic relationship and leaned into them growing as friends and Stiles moving on from his childhood crush. Scott and Lydia actually would have had good chemistry. They were both very headstrong heroic types, but Lydia would have balanced Scott out well intellectually. They had the history, and I think it could had worked if they wrote it right. Plus, Scott and Lydia would have been a better endgame that Scalia.

Scott x Kira: New Beginnings

These two were adorable. Kira was a badass, don’t get me wrong, but she let herself be soft in a way Allison was always afraid to. This couple was truly Baby. Absolute dorks. I can definitely see the lasting quality between the two of them. They saw things very similarly, and had a ton in common. I do think Kira deserves more characterization outside of their relationship, like more of her friendship with Malia. Overall, her departure from the show will always be sad to me. It was bad writing. Scott was over her far too quickly.

Aiden x Lydia: Pretty People Herd

I honestly didn’t see much between these two other than mutual attraction. The best thing to come out of this relationship was Lydia’s line, “You’re not just a bad boy, Aiden. You’re a bad guy. And I don’t want to be with the bad guys.” Good character development moment.

Ethan x Danny: Step to Redemption

Danny really was the thing that made Ethan look outside of the pack for what he really wanted out of life. They had a few cute scenes. Gotta love Danny’s final remarks, “Dude, it’s Beacon Hills.”

Allison x Isaac: Unexpected Rebound

Ok, I like these two. Isaac could match Allison’s snark in a way Scott couldn’t. They both fought the progression of the relationship slightly. They didn’t expect to fall for each other. They were less willing to let someone in close. I’d love to have seen more… but unfortunately their time was limited. On a side note, sometimes their relationship did feel like ‘we both are in love with the same guy, let’s cope with each other’, but I find that completely valid. Stiles x Malia: Anchors

Ok but, them <3 I love what they did for each other. Stiles was able to help Malia connect to her humanity and other people. He never tried to isolate her in their relationship and encouraged her growth. Malia offered Stiles the emotional support he never asked for. She defended him, fought for him, and loved him fiercely. Stiles needed that so much after season 3. I think they were a love that wasn’t meant to last, but the impact of it was forever. I wish we’d gotten to see a real end for them where they agreed that they needed to grow as individuals but would always still care.

Liam x Hayden: Three’s a Pattern

These two’s characterization stopped whenever they had storylines together. Their relationship was built on Scallison references. Hayden’s character could have been interesting, but they never really gave her a moment to shine. Liam has the worst plots when they revolved around her. Cute couple, poor writing.

Derek x Braeden: Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girl Boss

Derek deserves to be happy so much. Kate and Jennifer were just... jeez. Him and Braeden were cute and deserved more screen time. I think her intensity allowed for Derek to let go of control a bit more comfortably. Let Derek Be Soft. Anyway, love them.

Corey x Mason: Gotta Have That Rep TM

These two could have been cute if they were shown for more than two seconds at a time. I highkey forget Corey even existed all the time. Kinda just felt like a relationship to fill TW’s gay quota.

Jackson x Ethan: The Callback

Honestly? Loved them. Loved the chemistry. Loved the dynamic. Best twist. I know it was probably written in like that because Colton came out during his time away from the show, but it absolutely fit his character. Jethan is top tier.

Melissa x Chris: BAMF Parent Duo

Ok, so like, Melissa deserved this plot. She deserved someone to care about her. However... what the hell? Chris? In canon, his wife died like 2-ish years prior? His daughter died 1 year prior?? Is Chris really in a position to pursue a new relationship?? Also, like, Scott and Allison dated and loved each other up to her death. Kinda weird to have their parents hook up. I don’t hate it, but I don’t ship it…?

Scott x Malia: Lead up? What’s lead up?

These two came out of nowhere I stg. Like, 6B really tried to tell us this was something that had been slowly developing in the background? Also, I understand that they are their own people, adults, and completely in charge of their own romantic pursuits: but did Scott seriously never call Stiles? Like, Malia wasn’t just his first girlfriend. She was his first. Like, dude that’s your best friend?? Not even a head’s up? No, ‘hey would this bother you?’ Oof. Plus Malia was way too chaotic for Scott. She existed in gray morality that always prioritized her immediate circle, and Scott was a very black/white type of heroism. I just didn’t feel like they fit.

Ya, sorry, I don’t ship Sciles at all. I get it. Like, I totally understand the ship, and I mean no judgment at all. I just see them as friends. I really value good male friendships in media because I feel like we don’t get enough, and I always liked these two.

Stiles x Derek: Enemies to Lovers. 100k. Angst. Hurt/Comfort.

God these two really are what fanfiction was made for. I could write a much longer discussion about Sterek, and I probably will eventually. I’ll try to keep this brief. These two weren’t always on the same side, but their approach was the same. They were very similar at their core. Plus, wow the chemistry. This should have been canon. Jeff’s a coward.

Allison x Lydia: Powerful.

This ship is so great. They really had a great dynamic, and a romantic plot would have easily fit the established narrative. Lydia’s confidence in herself and Allison’s confidence in her own abilities crossing over to each other because that’s what the other lacked? Iconic.

Danny x Jackson: He Gets Him

Danny really saw Jackson for everything he was and still cared. I wished we’d gotten to see more of them. I  want more background with Jackson’s eventual coming out and his friendship with Danny. Like, they ended up dating the same guy. What did Ethan have to say about that??

Stiles x Jackson: Bastards

Ok these two had a super fun dynamic. The asshole-energy between them was, great. The snark was always so entertaining.

Melissa x Noah: Family

How were these two not endgame? Their sons were practically brothers already. They had amazing chemistry. The flirting? Not to mention, their timeline would have made way more sense. Missed opportunity.

Chris x Peter: The Opposite of Love is Indifference, Not Hate

Ok so like, this was definitely one of those ships that I had absolutely no knowledge of before I was pretty into the fandom. Like, this was not something I would have guessed just after watching the show. That being said; my god the chaos alone…

This ship is definitely one of my personal favorites. I very rarely poly-ship. I just feel like most of them are just love triangles with an ‘easy solution’, when two of them have no real connection. That is so not the case here. I feel like all of them have such great chemistry with each other. They also have a great dynamic as a group. Season 3A was really just Scallisaac rights.

Stiles x Isaac: I Hate You, jk…Not Really

Ok I loved their banter, but I really just don’t see this ship. Idk, I don’t personally ship it. Would have loved to see their friendship develop more tho.

Erica x Allison: Duo that would stab you with a stiletto

I don’t ship it, but I do wish we’d seen them become friends. I feel like they had a very artificial ‘girls fighting over a boy’ dynamic? They could have been such a badass duo.

Stiles x Erica: Batman x Catwoman

Ok I’m not sure exactly how to express my feelings for these two so bare with me. OMG I love their dynamic so much, and they are sooo cute. Their energy? Amazing. Chemistry? Great. History? It’s there and has so much potential. 10/10. Love them. But, no, I don’t ship it lol. Just really love their friendship, but with the underlying history of crushes.

Boyd x Erica: Was This Not Canon?

How can anyone not love Berica? Ugh they are adorable. These two deserved so much better.

Boyd x Cora: Survivors

Honestly I don’t really see it? Like they definitely had a connection, but it never felt romantic. I really feel like they just had to lean on each other and bond to make it through captivity, and it just lasted.

Boyd x Erica x Cora: The Pack

I literally learned this was a ship a couple days ago. Similar feelings towards this as Bora, but with the added hesitancy of we never actually saw Erica and Cora interact.

Cora x Stiles: Slow Build Up

These two were clearing being lined up to be a thing before Cora ended up leaving. I can’t say I’m disappointed they never happened. Kinda felt like they just wanted to straight-code Sterek.

Cora x Lydia: Mean Lesbians

Not much interaction to actually go off of, but yes I 100% support. They have very different approaches to problems, which is fun. Very ‘opposites attract’.

Malia x Kira: “Maybe you could date the coyote?”

Another one of my favorites!! They really complimented each other. Also, how full circle would they have been? They were introduced in back-to-back episodes. Malia stalking her as a coyote? The line from Kira’s dad about dating it? It would have been so funny if that ended up happening.

Malia x Lydia: Beauty and the Beast, but make it wlw

These two were fun. I liked their friendship, but I don’t really ship it. Though, rip Stiles that would have been hilarious.

Parrish x Lydia: The Cop and The Minor

Must I say more? Like, Parrish’s character, so sweet and big rule follower, did not make sense for what went down with Lydia. I love Parrish, but the dynamic just felt off. It didn’t feel consistent with the rest of his characterization.

Scott x Theo / Stiles x Theo: Sometimes The Villain is Hot

Ok I’ve put these together because I have the same opinion for both. I don’t ship it. Neither had any rebuilding of trust, and Theo really hurt both of them. I just don’t really think they work.

Mason x Liam: Sciles Puppy Pack Edition

Similar to my feeling about Sciles, I just don’t ship these two. They had a good friendship, from the little we saw of it.

Theo x Liam: Anchors 2: Electric Boogaloo

Another personal favorite! I really don’t even understand why this didn’t go canon?? The elevator scene was just, so intense. They helped each other grow in 6B, and I really loved their dynamic. They should have hooked up.

Little Clace thing I wrote

He opened their bedroom door and walked into it, behind him Clary was sending a message to Alec about plans tomorrow.

Jace was ready for work to he over, they'd been strategizing all day and his brain was exhausted. they were all stressed about what will happen with the New Clave. Not to mention, when and if the Cohort makes a move.

But he tried to clear his mind of that, trying to think of other things, otherwise he won't be able to sleep. He sat on his side of the bed to unlace his boots and pull them off. Then shrugged his jacket off and fell against the bed for a moment.

"You seem exhausted," Clary said, her voice half worry and half amusement." "I didn't sleep well last night. so my brain is done from all the strategizing." "Or the thinking." she said playfully. "You're so mean," he teased.

He heard her throw her boots off onto the floor. "And disorganized," he said. "Organization ain't my thing. You knew what you getting into, Herondale," she said. "True. But, I suppose that's why we balance each other," he said, suddenly serious. Thinking about how if not for Clary being his partner, he wouldn't be able to do all this.

She climbed onto the bed and then was on top of him. "We do more than just balance each other out," she said. "We're a team and more." He ran a hand through her hair. "I love you," he said, "so much." "I love you, too," she said, "so much. She bent down to kiss him, he kissed her back.

She pulled away, and said, "What do we have tomorrow?" "More strategizing and planning," he said. "Alec is still trying to calm things down with the Fair Folk. Not all of them are exactly over the Cold Peace." Clary sighed. "Can you blame them?" "No. If it were me, I wouldn't be so forgiving either, but we're in a difficult time right now." "That's true," Clary said. "Do you think the Cohort is planning as well?"

"Probably." "What are we going to do?" "Don't worry. we have Magnus Lightwood-Bane on our side, remember?" "One day I'll tell him that you secretly admire him." "Magnus Bane's secret admirer. "Magnus is God," said Clary, looking proud of herself. If anyone ever knew Clary and him joked about Magnus being got, he'd never live it, Jace thought to himself. "Perhaps." Jace had to admit if he were to choose a god, it'd be Magnus. At least Magnus seems cool. And he did love Alec more than anything, so that made Jace feel a kinship with him. He saw that Magnus could see in Alec what Jace did as well, it made Jace trust that Magnus would always take care of Alec. And he saw that Magnus loved Alec with everything he had as well.

"Why am I so exhausted every day?" Clary groaned. "We aren't even that old." "Physically we are young," said Jace. "But mentally we are much older." "Mentally I want to sleep for a while." "I'm sure you can sleep in a little later tomorrow morning," he said. "But there's so much paper work to he done," she said. "I hate paperwork." Clary was tired of paperwork, so was Jace. but rebuilding things meant there was a lot of it.

"I can do the paperwork," he said. "I can't let you do it on your own." "Yes you can," he said. "Besides, even the sumptuous brain muscle needs rest." He grinned. She laughed. "I remember I said 'Your most sumptuous muscle is your brain.' back when we were in Shanghai."

"I never forgot that," he said, more serious now. "Listen, love, your brilliant brain needs rest." "Why did you remember that?" she asked curiously, but he could tell she remembered too. "Well, for one, you said it to me. Everything you say has meaning to me," he replied. "And for two, you reminded me I was more than just a fighter."

They shared a moment of silence, not uncomfortable at all. It was a silence if knowing what the other already felt and knew. The silence of being around someone you trusted and loved, someone who knew you just as well as you knew yourself.

"Does Alec look exhausted to you?" asked Clary, breaking the silence. Alec does look exhausted, he's been given everything his all, and Jace was a little worried. "Yeah," he said. "But I've tried to get him to rest. He just thinks he has to do everything." Jace heard the anxiety and worry in his own voice.

"He never knows when to take a break. I admire him for it but we all need a break," Clary said. "Maybe you could find a way to trick him into a break."

Jace thought hard about this. He could convince Alec to go out for a drink or a walk, or even convince him into sleeping and tackling him into a cuddle session. But it would not be easy. And everyone needed something from Alec these days, but even Alec has his limits. No matter how much hope and goodness he had to give. Alec always had so much faith and hope, it radiated off him when he talked about the plans for the new Clave or when he advised people on how they could do better and the positive changes they could make—

"Jace," said Clary. He realized he got lost in thought. "Yeah. Sorry, I zoned out." "That's fine," she said. "I was just saying we should probably get ready for bed and try to get some sleep." She was still on top of him. "Well, you'll have to get off me so I can put on pajamas." "To bad," she said. "I'm comfortable." "I thought you said we should get ready for bed? This," he indicated, "is not getting ready for bed." "This could be what I mean," she smirked. "To think everyone believes I'm the naughty one," he said playfully. Then brushed his hand along her cheek.

Her expression turned serious and she stared down at him. "Are you okay?" "What do you mean?" "You've gotten up early, even for you, these last couple of mornings. And you've been tossing and turning more lately."

Should he tell her that he's been having nightmares of some evil version of himself? And that he was still worried about that night she said she thought she saw him; and that he was acting weird. But Jace hadn't gone after Clary that night, he'd stayed back at Magnus and Alec's place to play with Max and Rafe.

When Clary returned and asked him why he'd been so weird, he felt his heart skip a beat. It hadn't been him. They decided to dismiss it as being exhausted from working so hard. But Jace had his doubts. After the Thule story.

"I've just been having trouble sleeping again," he admitted. "I don't know. It just happens every now and then." "Do you have something on your mind?" she asked. "Just the usual; New Clave stuff, running the Institute, patrolling. Nothing new." "You're worried about Alec?" "Yes. But I don't think it's that," he said. "Alec is a great leader and knows what he's doing. and I know when to step in if I need to, but he is also happy to be doing it. And as his parabatai I have faith in him, I trust him. The thing is, I have had a strange feeling that something is coming but I don't know what."

"We do have to start wedding planning," said Clary, shuddering. Clary was good at planning this stuff but did not like planning this stuff, she also disliked dressing up too fancy. But she also insisted they plan the wedding, mostly cause it was an excuse to spend time together. She'd asked him about dress styles and he thought it odd but told her 'Whatever you want. You'll look beautiful no matter what.'

He reached over to her and twirled a strand of her hair around his finger. "The wedding planning won't he so bad." "Magnus suggested glitter bombs." "Well, that won't be happening," he said. She nodded. "I can't have glitter stuck in my ears for months again."

He laughed softly. "What do you want?" he asked. "That's just it," she said, rolling off him. "I have no idea. But I feel like everyone expects you to know what you want. I'm sure you know what you want." "You'd be surprised," he said. "But, Clar-bear, we don't need to know. We've always gone slow and steady in our relationship, our wedding planning doesn't need to be fast. We don't need to have everything ready right away, we don't have to plan it all right away. it's our wedding." "You're right," she said "of course you are." "I usually am," he winked.

She rolled her eyes. "Seriously though," she said, "thank you." He leaned to the side and kissed her cheek. "Kiss me," she said. He'd heard her say that maybe a million times, but it never got old.

He pulled her back on top of him and kissed her hard; she smelled of jasmine. She was grinning against his mouth a little, which made him smile. They rolled around like this for a bit; kissing and comforting.

Eventually they got ready for bed, both of them changed into their pajamas and snuggled into bed together. He buried his face into the crook of her neck, placing a few light kisses there. As she told him about how Max turned into a bat early and caused chaos. He smiled fondly at that, his nephew be chaotic was always adorable. Rafe apparently said something in spanish that may or may not have been inappropriate; his other nephew was adorable and on his way to being a badass.

They both dosed off after she finished the story, they had to accept they were tired adults now, even if Jace didn't want to.
