What if the ending to Tears of the Kingdom wasn't so happy?

As much as I loved it...I did think it was a bit too neat... so I came up with an alternate one where Rauru fails to return Zelda to her previous form or return Link's arm... I kinda would have preferred if at least the arm was kept gone...though I guess that would make future sequels a bit more challenging if Link only has one arm from that time on unless they just move on to a different Link.

Also Zonai are hard to draw which is why I chose not to include them in more than one panel... sorry :p This series has a lot of very detailed character designs and while they are really cool...they're also a bit above my art skills...

Oh, I love this, how the three bottom panels are descending and the silhouette of Gotham's skyline is rotating in the background to show they're falling, falling, falling, but the nameless girl and her father - the father she's desperately determined to stop, the father who does love her despite how complicated and terrible that love is - are timelessly still, as if the rest of the world has paused in this strange moment of re-connection. Shards of glass flying about them like a melancholy snowfall. Iconic.

Talia even being called an assassin gives me the ick because when she was first introduced she hated killing, felt immense guilt the few times she had to, and most of the time if it looked like she killed someone it turned out to be anaesthesia or a tranquilizer or something. Like she was literally studying to be a doctor when her and Bruce met and she was based off of the stereotypical Bond Girl because it was the 70's. Like I know it's basically her entire character now that she's an "assassin mom" or whatever but that was not who she was intended to be and I hate how it's done most of the time because it's ALWAYS a way to point and say "look at the evil brown woman! She's a cold blooded killer who forced/passively allowed her son to kill as well! It's a good thing that the feral brown boy is now with his good white family so he can learn the value of life and art and how to exist in civil society!" And it's actually really pissing me off. You guys don't even read a characters introduction comic before you start writing the same regurgitated nonsense steeped in racism and misogyny. Damian's whole character as it stands is basically character assassination for Talia and in order for me to be able to engage with him he'd have to be entirely rewritten.

Hey, thank you (and others) who have come forward to let me know about this. The reality is that I can't do anything about it either, so I prefer not to be reminded. I will say that, of all the times my art has been reposted, this one did actually seem to drive some genuine engagement back to me & my comic download, so there's a silver lining! (I can't imagine the AI voice acting sounding good though...)

The best thing anyone can do if they find my art reposted, and which I really appreciate, is to report it and make sure I'm credited somewhere, because I don't have the energy to get them all myself. Please don't start fights, and please don't feel the need to defend or speak for me - just a simple reply explaining who the artist is and a link back to me goes a long way.

At the end of the day I know that when I post something to the Internet it's inevitable that it will get reposted, so I've made my peace with it. But it's kind of a bummer to be reminded constantly, so I appreciate when people credit me in the replies of reposts that they see ♥♥♥

I originally took on this project as an appreciation project for the end of the comic, but then I thought I could turn it into a christmas/new years gift for, @salty-rey !!!

I loved this comic so much and originally found it on Tiktok (I believe the first one I saw was the singing one with the nose nuzzles at the end. I fell in love with the style and Rudi and had to find more!) when I had it but then it just wouldn't let me log in one day. I was slightly sad because I knew that many of those artists didn't have Tumblr so I couldn't see their stories, but I didn't bother to make a new account because, well, Tiktok sucks o-o

But when I found you, rey, on here I was so happy that I could continue the story because it was (and still is) my favorite dca "fanfic" with beautiful art. To be honest, you're one of the few artists that I would continue to follow even after they've moved onto something else and like everything you make because your art-style is just so AMAZING! I honestly didn't do my favorite panels (I reread the comic and picked out my favorites for this project/gift) justice in how beautiful the originals are!!!

Taking on this made me realize really how much work you put into each page because I started this back in the very beginning of November! Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving us this comic rey, it's very special to me!
