teehee you told me to drop by so i'm asking the most important question of them all.... of the main new directions who do they bias in bts and how much do they like bts 🤭

hi u are so real for this sorry this has taken me a while to get to!! been trying to organise my thoughts but i'm still not fully set on things. i guess ill do this from like. most to least likely to enjoy bts? (also i will say i have thoughts on the vb au squad specifically! i don't remember them in detail and they're probably similar to what i've written here but i def remember talking about it with mist)

tina: 100% most likely to be an army also def a once and a sone but that's not relelvant here! girlie has taste and i love that for her <3 she has jimin stan energy to me, i think she'd see the similarities between him and mike and she'd have a major soft spot for that

sugar: not technically one of the main new directions but i wanted to include her anyway bc i bet she loves bts. she has that vibe. she'd have all the merch and could very easily spend hundreds of dollars on concert tickets for herself and tina and anyone else who wanted to come. idk how she'd feel about the older eras but she'd def be a fan of the more poppy songs (maybe hyyh-onwards? def enjoys the LY/MOTS eras). probably a big vocal line fan, specifically jin and possibly jungkook as a bias wrecker

brittany: i think she'd enjoy bts a lot tbh! idk if she'd dive deep into fan theories or keep up with stuff like run bts but she'd def vibe with their music and i would kill to see her do the dance challenges or even full dance covers. i'd say she's hobi-biased but also just a big fan of 3J/sunshine line

blaine: i think he'd enjoy their more recent eras! mainly LY/MOTS-onwards i think? he has boy with luv/dynamite vibes. major jungkook stan in my head but i think he would really enjoy joon's lyrics/writing style

mike: def introduced to bts through tina dkfjgh but i think he'd get sucked in by the dance practices and the live performances even if the music itself isn't necessarily stuff he'd listen to! probably a 3J stan, if i had to pick one i'd very hesitantly say jimin

santana: idk if she'd listen to them regularly but. i do think she'd vibe a lot with agust d's albums? and i also think she'd find mono and indigo really soothing. epiphany would alter her brain chemistry and no one can tell me otherwise! i know for a fact that she would cry at that song. namgi fan

quinn: casual bts listener i think? def a joon stan tho i don't make the rules here!! i do also think she'd enjoy jin's voice a lot

artie: i feel like bts would be a guilty pleasure for him? idk if he'd be super invested but he would enjoy some of their music and he would def have an appreciation for the mvs! musically i'd say he enjoys tae the most but he def thinks jimin is ridiculously pretty

sam: hmmm sam is one i feel much less familiar with. mist said u guys have talked about blamtina being armys together and i can kinda see that? he does also kinda seem like he'd consider them a guilty pleasure to me tho. jin or jungkook stan energy

mercedes: secondhand fan through tina! idk if she'd listen to them on her own but if tina is around she doesn't mind listening to them. there's bound to be at least one song that hits hard for her but idk what it is rn. i think she'd appreciate tae's voice the most?

kurt: also introduced to them through tina! idk if i see him being much of a kpop fan but i do think he'd appreciate the aesthetics and the artistry of it all. i think he'd like jungkook bc he gets blaine vibes from kookie? alternatively there's sth about him that makes me think jimin stan

puck: bts doesn't really have much rock music so i guess puck wouldn't be super interested in most of it but i feel like there are probably a few songs he might enjoy just vibe-wise? maybe stuff like stigma, house of cards? i also inexplicably get a hip hop fan vibe from him despite that not being a thing in canon so i could potentially see him vibing with their earlier eras and stuff like the cyphers and being biased towards the rap line? but i'm not very set on that

finn: doesn't strike me as much of a kpop fan tbh but i think there are a couple of songs here and there he might like (fake love rocking mix!). idk if he'd actually ever remember any of their names tho kdfjgh he'd probably pick a different bias every time he's asked bc he never pays enough attention to recognise any of them

rachel: does not have kpop fan vibes to me at all but i find it hard to read her so i could be wrong there? idk i don't think she'd really listen to their music since she is so showtunes to me. that being said i think if she had to pick a fav it would be jungkook if only bc of the gold star/golden maknae association

I love writing Wesker with a little touch of what he seems to hate so much... humanity.

The one core aspect of his persona is that he was manufactured - abused - created.

The Executive Training School intended to produce sets of controllable psycho-sociopaths - a class worth. Human beings, more complex than tools, rarely turn out how they are meant to - neither Birkin nor Wesker were controllable.

Lisa Trevor was a threat and an intimidation tactic as much as she was an experiment - "this will be you if you don't do what we say", essentially.

Wesker, Birkin, and Alexia were all groomed (literal) under the Doctrine, meant to take over in Spencer's stead when he passed (and meant to fight for the position).

Birkin's hate for Alexia was an intentional machination of Spencer. Wesker was intended to experience it towards Birkin eventually, but ultimately did not.

There is only so much death you can voyeur - unwillingly, willingly, it doesn't change the outcome - until you are no longer empathetic to it.

He's a victim of an insurmountable magnitude of intentional happenings whose scale approaches the Truman trope.

His natural, base inclination is not violence.

Birkin had a much higher kill count than he did in the beginning of his arduous and terrible journey, one that they had both started with the desire for a positive change even after they grew up watching their peers picked off like carrion by Marcus.

Wesker's comment to Birkin after the murder of Marcus is that he does not feel anything - good or bad - and that Marcus was "just another monster".

In RE4, he is more than willing to let people solve his own problems without directly, violently interfering to reach his goals. Only when they require violence does he portray it - his first suggestions aren't needlessly cruel ("ring the church bell", "take advantage of the distraction [Leon] is causing", "use [Leon] to clean up Saddler").

When Wesker initially became suspicious of the Arklays, and he looked upon what he perceived was Spencer's goal, he found the idea of it completely revolting even at its' smallest scale. But he could not flee.

The Arklays were meant to produce a viable strain that Spencer could then himself perfect after shedding the Arklays as a testing ground; it was intentionally set up for the event of Raccoon City to occur, but it was not intended for it to occur at the time that it did.

Spencer admits that he - and Project W as a whole - were raised intentionally to produce tools who would become eugenicists in a similar fashion.

Eventually that bitter lie becomes so numb to Wesker's tongue that it begins to taste sweet. "A lie repeated twice is truth" is a known and very evil propaganda tactic employed by cults and fascists - it is called the 'illusion of truth' in psychology, the curse of familiarity.

He was not born evil, and he's a broken dichotomy of a person who is fundamentally incompatible with life.

25 Days of Sleighpairs: Finn Hudson & Marley Rose (Glee) + “Family”

Neither of them had said anything in the last ten minutes. They were just walking aimlessly. Finn was pretty sure he was supposed to say something, anything, but he didn't know what exactly he should say. Maybe this was a bad idea. Of course it was, he was so stupid.

They stopped in front of the reindeer pen. Marley folded her arms on the fence and rested her chin on them, snow clinging to her coat and hair. There was even a thin layer of it on her hat from how long they'd just been walking around. Why did he suggest this?

"I'm sorry," he blurted out, and Marley looked up at him in surprise. "For... all of this. It was a dumb idea. I just thought... I thought that it would be good if we could hang out and... I don't know."

He sighed. For the first time all day, she smiled. It was tiny, but it was there. It was funny how he was suddenly questioning if his was the same. His mom always told him he looked like his dad when he smiled, so, maybe Marley did, too. How had he never noticed that before?

All those weeks in glee club, and it had never struck him that there was something familiar about her. Now, he was desperately searching for everything he had missed.

"I've never had a sibling before," he tried again, watching two reindeers eating side by side not too far away. "It's funny, I always thought it would be so cool to be someone's big brother, to — to have this person who was like me and who would look up to me. Who would need me to look for them and would come to me for advice about stuff."

His eyes darted to Marley. His heart sank and he deflated, leaning against the fence as he smiled sadly and looked away again.

"I guess it's a bit late for all of that now." He shook his head and sighed. "I feel like I... like I let you down. I know neither of us knew, but I feel like I should've, somehow, you know? All that time we spent in glee club and I had no idea. Some big brother I am."

The reindeers had stopped eating and were now making their way over to them. They came close enough to touch, and they both reached out, Marley straightened up.

"For what its worth... I think you're pretty cool."

Finn looked at her in surprise and found she was smiling up at him. "You do?"

"Yeah. Of course I do. Do you know how much I admire you? You're, like, this big celebrity at McKinley."

"I'm not," Finn protested, his brow furrowing.

"You kind of are," she said, her smile twitching higher. "But that's not the only reason I think you're cool. It's because you were nice to me whe no one else wanted to be around me. You didn't blame me for messing up. Your lessons are a little weird sometimes, but you put so much effort into glee club and making sure we feel like a team."

He listened, stunned to silence. He had no idea anyone in the glee club felt that way.

"I just kind of figured you all thought I was an idiot," he said with a nervous chuckle and a shrug.

"Of course we don't," Marley said, with meaning. "I definitely don't. When my mom told me about our dad, and how you were my brother, I was... well, obviously, I was shocked, but I was also unbelievably happy. Because I always wanted a big brother, and I couldn't have asked for a better one."

Finn didn't know what to say. He smiled, hesitated, then quickly asked, "Is it okay if I hug you?"

Her face split into a grin. She practically launched at him, and he laughed, then wrapped his arms around her. It was strange how unfamiliar yet totally familiar it felt. She mumbled something into his chest, but he didn't hear her and he didn't ask her to repeat it, not wanting to ruin the first good moment they had had since finding out they were related.

He spotted two people cradling steaming cups and a sign by a little cafe across the street. "Hey, what do you say to getting some hot chocolate?"

Marley pulled back. Her eyes were a little teary, but she quickly wiped them and said, "I say yes, obviously. Who doesn't like hot chocolate?"

His grin widened. "Come on."

Marley was bouncing with excitement as they ordered, and she asked for little marshmallows and sprinkles. A lot of people liked hot chocolate with marshmallows and sprinkles, it was completely insignicant — but it meant the world to him in the moment.

Everyone gets that while Eddie is a metalhead, with an obvious love for heavy metal, he is also very blatantly into hair rock, right?

That there's enough evidence of that given his W.A.S.P. logo on his battle jacket–the fact that he has a battle jacket in the first place–and his literal hair style. There are differences in the metal genre! The Corroded Coffin guys would definitely tease him about liking it, and he'd defend himself by saying he's a metal enthusiast of all varieties.

This is my way of saying that Eddie secretly loves glam metal, and the gateway drug that it is when it comes to loving Bon Jovi.

Is it Lobotomy or is it Mabeline?

I'll probably write a formal G.doc and link it on pinned post later, but gathering some old comments I've thrown around about Shockwave's emotional state.

"I should also add that while he was Shadowplayed and de-gloved of "Senator Shockwave", that aspect of him never really left? I see it as a sort of anhedonia. His "lobotomy" prevents his spark from genuinely feeling the way he used to and all its vibrancy, but his memories are in his spark, so he'd had the natural reaction, the mourning, the wishing. But since war, is well war, Shockwave just became jaded and everything was a tool: Megatron, Soundwave, Optimus Prime, etc. Without any of that now and not playing field, no war, it's just kind a "oh I didn't think about what happens if I came out on the other side." And that's partly because the dream was with Senator Shockwave. Empurata'd Shockwave understood "ends justified the means", but deep down, he assumed that he probably wouldn't have made it to the end."

There is an emotional response there that he doesn't naturally suppress, nor is it really the work of what has been done to his mind. If the "thought" was the flint, the emotion the "stone", and the reaction the "spark" — the spark is very weak.

It's been discussed before that for someone who is supposedly detached, he does showcase frustrations and quasi-elated feelings of triumphs in successes. He also overcomes the Shadowplay seemingly on his own, as if it were a revelation and not an infliction.

All that to say — he can and does feel, he is not exempt from emotional behavior, but he feels with his mind first before his spark. He decides what is a necessity and defaults to that because the bar slotted in his brain forces him to think of what is "purposeful" and what "serves" his survival. The years of battle and rising cruelty forced him to further utilize the Shadowplay and pathologize all responses to be productive.
