I am OBSESSED with the gcv of Tongue Tied. Not only do I love the song in general, but the scene that goes with it makes me emotional for some reason. It's them winning nationals for the first time so obv it's important but it also kinda felt like it wasn't the end of the show, but the end of an era on the show. Like I feel like glee was never the same after s3. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I do miss s1-s3.

this was SO goddamn hard because some of these are my favorite gcvs of all time and i’m the most indecisive person ever, but here’s my ranking

1. Barely Breathing

i think i’ve listened to barely breathing a million times it’s genuinely one of my fav glee duets and while the context sucks it’s such a beautiful song and i love it

2. Dog Days Are Over

this was obviously going to be high up in the ranking it’s iconic it’s beautiful it’s tina cohen-chang

3. Bohemian Rhapsody

on its own the song is already pretty good but the hilarity of overlaying it with quinn giving birth skyrockets it into one of the greatest performances of all time, but unfortunately this did have to get only third because im biased for the other two and too blind to care about anything else

4. Americano/Dance Again

okay i have a love hate relationship with americano/dance again it is a VERY good performance and i love cassandra july but some parts of it get stuck in my head in a bad way and that’s always gonna bother me. other than that i have absolutely no bad things to say about this gcv, i think its a bombass mashup and very fun and if it weren’t for me being a whore for the other songs on this ranking it would be much higher

5. Help

is this so low because i’m a seblaine shipper? honestly no i just don’t enjoy help as much as the others. while it is an awesome cover and i love blam duets, i’ve just never been a big fan of beatles songs (though help is one of my more liked songs of theirs) and so it isn’t ranked higher. blam as always though sounded amazing and i am grateful for the warbler moments i got from this performance

Okay, okay, There Are Worse Things I Could Do.

I’d argue this is the best song of the episode not just on terms of vocals but in terms of what it does for the story. Like A Boy Like That in season 3′s West Side Story this has an interesting meta layer of both the musical and the Glee’s story. And unlike the other “in-universe it’s a Santana solo but we’ll have it as a trio”, Constant Craving, this one actually does work really well as a trio.

TvTropes’ Glee page is kinda garbage, like, utter garbage in some parts but I really like what they say about this song, which is:

The best part is that it manages to be an "I Am" Song for Santana, a Villain Song for Cassandra and an "I Want" Song for Unique.

Even the way the distribute the lines is excellent to fit these three separate characters and their stories. And Naya Rivera, once again, doing her damn best to act out emotion through song at the very end there. Excellent piece.

Sure, bringing in Cassie is a weird choice but I’ll take this over Shelby singing Constant Craving because she’s fucking Puck any day, and at least this serves as a villain song unlike it did for Shelby.
