It's Wednesday Morning Slop Time!

Not being able to drive stops me from doing so much more than just driving.

At least in my specific situation, not being able to drive also means:

not getting to choose how early or late I arrive to an event (or when I get to leave the event).

not being able to go for a drive when I'm upset or need to clear my head.

not getting to pick which route I take to a destination or whether/where to stop on the way.

not being in control of my own safety while I’m on the road.

not getting to listen to the music I want in the car (at least not without worrying I'm bothering whoever I'm with).

not being able to be the designated driver when I’m out with friends (even though I don’t even drink).

not being able to help drive during long car rides so whoever I’m with can take a break.

not being able to get to a friend in the middle of the night if they need someone.

not being able to go anywhere spontaneously or last-minute if I don’t have time to arrange a ride.

not being able to go somewhere if no one can/wants to give me a ride (especially if it’s too far away).

feeling left out any time people start talking about cars or driving (which happens surprisingly often).

having to miss out on events if the person who I was supposed to ride with has to cancel.

never going anywhere by myself.

constantly having to ask others for rides, to the point where I burn out on it and feel like a burden.

And so much more.

I’m constantly having to confront the fact that I would live an entirely different life if I could drive. But instead, I’m an adult with the independence of a teenager.

I don’t have an optimistic way to end this rant. It just sucks not being able to drive.

i went 2 the optometrist bc its been feeling like my eyesight has been getting worse so i wanted to check that nothing was Wrong. good news is that its nothing Bad but bad news is my prescription changed Enough in the past 5 months that my current glasses dont cut it

for my birthday this year I got a two-day land typhoon, a daoist funeral, a crafts party, three new ferns, a rosemary harvest, and left shoulder pain so bad I was 60% convinced it was a fucking cardiac event 'cause i couldn't fully inhale and the pain radiated up to my jaw lol

on that note ive thought about it and humanstuck anttios would be so fucking funny because the whole family is blind but it's not inherited blindness; despite all odds they all went blind in different ways

By the end of family movie night only two people are awake lmao Abe and Topher falls asleep 5 minutes in, Gandhi and Mickey are awake the whole time, and Cliff usually falls asleep somewhere in the middle of the movie

Anyway her name is Saeka and she’s also partially blind & visually impaired and uses a cane and she has a boyfriend and has a cat and literally has no idea what her brother is doing cause she moved to America so you wouldn’t know her because she goes to another country :/

So many positive news articles last week focused on regenerating life for individuals, communities and in other areas. Medical regeneration involved rehabilitating wounded IDF personnel; reuniting separated families; two Israeli therapies for regenerating the lives of traumatized children, and another that generates companionship for the elderly. Israelis are able to generate thousands of clinical trial simulations, regenerate eye functionality in glaucoma patients, and can show how dormant bacteria regenerates. An Israeli female Israeli professor is responsible for generating three startups including one that regenerates spinal cords. And an Israeli IDF reservist donated her bone marrow to regenerate a patient's immune system. Read about the The volunteers and organizations that have been regenerating neglected farms in Israel's south; and the food rescue startup that has been regenerated after shutdown during the Covid pandemic.  Israel is 3rd in the world for Generative AI startups (see newsletter for details) and one startup even generates responses to hate speech.  Other Israeli startups regenerate machinery at risk of breaking down and recharge electric buses wirelessly. Many startups have relocated to safer areas in Israel and begun regenerating their businesses with increased productivity.  Finally, a combined religious and secular project to write Torah scrolls is regenerating the spiritual unity of the Jewish State. how are your cats doing?

My cat is doing really good! She's ancient, like 22, but she's still a little cuddle beast. Her favorite spot is between me and my phone when I'm in bed. This morning she didn't even notice she was locked in the bedroom to avoid her bothering the plumbers while they try to work, she was too busy getting extra cuddles to care.
