A new year is upon us, and with it new hopes… A time for looking forward, and a time for looking back. 2024 was a year of joy and a year of sadness. I was honored with an induction to the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame… lent my experience to a new online course at tonebase Double Bass… celebrated my 87th birthday… held another successful and memorable Birdland Jazz Club residency... and more. Yet we also saw my dear friend Russell Malone leave the concert far, far too soon. What 2025 will bring us remains to be seen– though www.RonCarterJazz.com is the first place to check-in about where YOU’LL be to see me next. As for my New Year’s Resolution… I think it shall be to play more bass, as there is still much to be done in the pursuit of finding THOSE notes ;) Happy New Year, ladies and gents… Enjoy your 2025.
